"Real-Time Visibility and Fast Global Remediation with Tanium"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Tanium?

The absolute best thing about Tanium is that it finally stops the guessing games. Instead of relying on days-old, stale data from legacy tools like SCCM, Tanium's peer-to-peer architecture gives you a literal real-time pulse on your environment you can query a hundred thousand machines and get an accurate answer in seconds. This creates a single source of truth that finally ends the classic finger-pointing between IT operations and Security teams, because everyone is looking at the exact same live data. On top of that, it’s a massive win for your infrastructure's health; we can often rip out half a dozen bloated, legacy point-solution agents for patching, inventory, and compliance, replacing them all with one lightweight client. Ultimately, the biggest upside isn't just having the visibility to spot a zero-day threat instantly, but having the power to actually push a fix across the globe in minutes rather than crossing your fingers and waiting for a weekend maintenance window. What do you dislike about Tanium?

What I dislike most about Tanium is that it operates like a loaded weapon its immense power is also its greatest risk. Because of its real-time, peer-to-peer architecture, a junior admin pushing a poorly tested remediation script or a heavy custom query can instantly saturate network links or cause global performance degradation before you even realize what happened. Beyond the technical risk, the platform has a notoriously steep learning curve; you can't just intuitively stumble your way through its proprietary sensor configuration, and Tanium's recent shift away from their dedicated Technical Account Manager (TAM) support model means you are increasingly left to navigate this complexity via standard support tickets. Finally, from a financial perspective, the opaque pricing and aggressive "Autonomous Endpoint Management" module bundling often lead to enterprise shelfware, forcing organizations to pay a massive premium for capabilities their security teams simply don't have the bandwidth to deploy. "Rapid Endpoint Visibility That Transformed Our Incident Troubleshooting"
4/5
What do you like best about Tanium?

It wasn’t until I used Tanium’s capabilities to quickly identify the status of the endpoints involved in an incident that I realized the importance of Tanium. No longer did I need to wait for reporting or sift through logs in multiple systems to determine what had transpired. This experience has completely altered my approach to troubleshooting, as I am now not reliant on lagging data. Another feature that I found compelling about Tanium is its ability to drill down from a broad overview to an individual endpoint without needing a new solution. What do you dislike about Tanium?

Familiarization with the tool was difficult. At one point, I could only fumble around with my queries before being able to make sense of what it needed from me. It does not offer too much guidance on this aspect, meaning you need to figure out your way around by experimentation or proper understanding of the underlying principles. The interface is very heavy, too. There are just a lot going on, making it sometimes unclear which part of it to pay attention to. With a high number of endpoints, the amount of data is just too much. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Powerful endpoint visibility and security management platform"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Tanium?

What I like best about Tanium is its real time visibility and control over endpoints. It allows you to quickly query and manage thousands of systems within seconds, which is extremely useful for security operations and incident response. The platform is powerful when it comes to patch management, asset discovery, and threat detection, all in one place. I also like how it reduces the need for multiple tools by combining endpoint management and security capabilities. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Tanium?

What I dislike about Tanium is that it has a steep learning curve, especially for new users. The interface and query structure can take time to understand, and proper training is often required to use it effectively. It can also be resource intensive and relatively expensive, which may not be ideal for smaller organizations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Powerful for large-scale endpoint management"
4/5
What do you like best about Tanium?

What I find great about Tanium is that it gives me a real-time view of all my endpoints. Tanium does not operate on periodic scans like other solutions, but allows for instant querying of machines and obtaining responses in seconds. This makes the system much more responsive, especially in the event of a security incident or a quick audit. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Tanium?

Tanium is a very powerful solution, but some aspects can be improved. The first difficulty is related to getting started: as the platform is very functional, one must account for a rather steep learning curve, especially for less experienced users. The interface, although comprehensive, can sometimes seem complex and not very intuitive at first use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Tanium Makes Endpoint Visibility Easy, Fast, and Flexible—with Great Support"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Tanium?

It's usually very difficult to keep track of all endpoint activity on our company's network, and with Tanium it's so, so easy. THe interface is really user friendly, and the platform is really flexible with the integrations available, for example you can connect it with Copilot or ServiceNow without any sort of extra effort, and performance wise it takes less than half the time than how we did it before. Pricing is really great as well because it doesn't offer you just a membership type of service, but more a plugin scheme that adapts to your very specific needs. Another thing I give a lot of kudos to is the support and onboarding team behind everything because they truly make sure you are succesful using the platform, and give you a concierge level of care that other competitors do not. What do you dislike about Tanium?

The only thing that I would say is an area of opportunity, but understandable due to how the system works, is that it tends to be a bit sluggish when you initiate things and are beginning your day. It does take a bit of learning as well to navigate interfaces but I still stand that it is simple to use because once everything clicks it is all really seamless. "Easy Patch Deployment Across Servers and Windows Laptops"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Tanium?

I like how, relatively easily, we can deploy patches to our servers and Windows laptops. Deploying apps could be better but it is a very powerful feature that we use regularly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Tanium?

It very difficult to automate the patching. While it easier than doing everything manually, it would be great if we could automate the patching so it's relatively zero touch. Also, most of the apps we deploy in Tanium do not auto update. We have to manually add the latest versions of apps, which is very time consuming. We would like it if the most common apps can be auto updated through Tanium, so we don't have to constantly add the latest version. There are some apps that have update daily.

Also, their new pricing model is going to make the tool more expensive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Efficient Endpoint Management with Robust Patching and Automation Capabilities"
5/5
What do you like best about Tanium?

What I really like about Tanium is its strong patching capabilities, it makes it easy to keep systems compliant and up to date without a lot of manual effort. It’s also very fast and straightforward to deploy and update applications across the environment, which saves a lot of time.

Another big plus is the flexibility you get with Tanium packages. They give you almost endless possibilities for automation and custom solutions, so you can adapt it to fit your specific needs.

Overall, it’s a powerful and efficient platform for managing endpoints at scale. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Tanium?

Most of my patching is done through the Tanium Automate module, which is still relatively new. While it’s a powerful addition, the UI could benefit from a refresh to make it more intuitive and user-friendly.

It would also be helpful to have the option to reuse the playbook name as the deployment name, as this would simplify workflows and make management more consistent. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Real-Time Endpoint Visibility and Control at Scale with Tanium"
5/5
What do you like best about Tanium?

What I like best about Tanium is its ability to provide real-time visibility and control across a large number of endpoints from a single platform. It helps IT and security teams quickly identify issues, deploy fixes, and maintain compliance without the delays often seen in traditional endpoint management tools. Its speed and scalability make day-to-day operations much more efficient. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Tanium?

One thing I dislike about Tanium is that it can have a steep learning curve for new users. Its wide range of features and powerful capabilities can feel overwhelming at first, and proper training is often needed to make full use of the platform. Additionally, some organizations may find the licensing and implementation costs relatively high. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Fast, Far-Reaching Endpoint Insights Right from the Console"
5/5
What do you like best about Tanium?

The speed and reach of the product. I love that I can find more information on endpoints with just asking questions in the console. Patching can be a bit difficult to explain to the end user but when using Patch it make sense. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Tanium?

The thing I dislike most about Tanium is that it was made to be the bad guy for issues in our environment. I also don't like being on prem and having to update tanium manually. It would be nice if On Prem had an option to allow modules to update on a schedule. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
