I liked the convenience of being able to meet with a therapist virtually as there are limited option for mental health care in my area. Also having the option to choose from a wide variety of providers made me feel more autonmous with my decesion to seek mental health care in the first place. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Talkspace? Some of the therapists on Talkspace don't seem to be as knowledgeable about the specialties they claim to be on their bios. There is also often a lack of communication or forgetfullness from their part when they advise they will send me resources for coping or relaxation techniques after the meeting but don't, so then I have to remind them. I don't this it's the responsability of the patient/client to have to remind their provider. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What problems is Talkspace solving and how is that benefiting you? I appreciate that I have the option to delve deeper into some of the mental health issues that have been affecting me for a while. There is a severe lack of therapists in my community, so having a resource to delve deeper into my anxiety and stress has been helpful. What do you dislike about Talkspace? I didn't feel like I benefitted from my time speaking with the therapist assigned to me. Talkspace is quick to navigate and intuitive, it is easy to schedule and message. The video and chat portions seem to work really well, and Talkspace provides notifications when you have new messages or upcoming appointments. Ease of use is nice. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Talkspace? Their therapists seem to be pretty well booked, which can make it hard to find suitable times for appointments. The format of quick, back-to-back, short sessions makes it really hard to feel like it is an immersive, deep experience like traditional therapy where there is a more extensive intake process asking about your past and childhood and family of origin, etc. The sessions felt a little more hollow than I would have liked. What I like best about Talkspace was the To speak with someone remotely rather than face-to-face. Being paired with a counselor was quick and easy and if you are not satisfied with your current counselor, you can change to a new one. You can also write the counselor you are speaking with on the app. In addition, the app allows you to communicate with your counselor through text, giving you the opportunity to maintain conversation with your counselor throughout the week. The app provides check-in's with every client where questions about your progress toward your goals are asked. The counselor is able to use this information to guide their individual treatment plans. One thing I did not like about Talkspace, is that it provided opportunities for interruptions when counselors worked from their homes to provide treatment. One of the counselors I spoke to sometimes stops speaking to me to speak to family members. I was afraid that someone was able to hear my information which is supposed to be confidential. As a result I asked for another counselor. The second counselor I received was better, However, I did not feel as though I was making much progress since the counselor continue to ask surface level questions. A great problem that Talkspace is solving is the ability for someone to receive help without worrying about the distance needed to travel and see the counselor. Some individuals do not have transportation or are immunocompromised, like myself, and cannot meet face-to-face with a counselor. I liked that I was able to message my therapist when I wanted rather than being locked into a time (unless I wanted to).
