Talkoot is an application designed specifically with high-volume team-based writing in mind. Although it runs in your web browser, I would put it in the same league as essential standalone software such as Photoshop or Excel. Its clean interface is intuitively laid out and the more time you spend in it, the more you'll see how powerful it is.

I love how straightforward it is to write & make edits directly into a given field. All fields are plaintext, and a small red triangle displays & disappears to indicate your work has been saved to the server as soon as you exit the field. I never feel like I'm going to accidentally overwrite something important by scrolling carelessly in the browser (like in Google docs).

It's easy to track older versions, and to see who made which edits. I'm frequently filtering by multiple categories to make the most of the Bulk Edit and Find & Replace tool. Talkoot is a great collaboration tool. Many people/roles can work on the same copy and nothing is lost because all work is saved in the database as you go. Sticky notes plus a handy feedback box make tracking and implementing client feedback pretty simple...much easier than when I had to track all that stuff in an excel doc. The more expert you become at using the tool, the more efficient you become, and so the more you want even more customization to meet your work flow needs. We work on tens of thousands of product descriptions a year and the workflow and functionality in Talkoot helps us consistently deliver accurate and credible content for our clients. For some clients, we deliver multiple versions of a product description (DTC, B2B, Catalog, Amazon) and Talkoot's relationships and carryovers functionality really simplifies that process for our team. We research, write, edit and proofread a lot of product descriptions. Thousands of them every season. We used to do this in Excel, which was painful for project managers and everyone else. Version control was always a juggling act. Images had to be viewed separately. Now we have one place where info and images live, and where multiple people including our clients can work on the same product, while the system tracks changes in the background. No sweat!
