What do you dislike about Tacton CPQ?

There are no tutorials for more advanced projects and solutions at the E-learning Academy. Even short videos or text tutorials on more complex problems would be helpful. A large number of tacton tools are required to create an application (DA Studio, Visualiser, etc.) and it is a bit difficult to learn and use them in a small team. Recommendations to others considering Tacton CPQ:

A Tacton user should have strong cognitive skills, spatial imagination, and at least basic knowledge of JavaScript programming. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Tacton CPQ?

They have managed to cover a lot of our specific business needs. Good team of consultants willing to find solutions for their customers Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Tacton CPQ?

We have encountered issues such as system failures and inhability to use Tacton during periods of time until the problem is identified and fixed, this has happened wheneverTacton does a product release, I would definetely recommend to improve their release process and inform the users what has changed and what is the impact.

The CPQ still has a lot of functionalities that need improvement or that are very limited Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Tacton is a Huge Time-Saver for Selling Configurable Products"

What do you like best about Tacton CPQ?

The time-saving features of Tacton are key. Technicians can provide the database with technical information about configurations and relationships between a diverse pallet of products, which is then instantly available for sales personnel when they create offers and BOMs. This saves time on both sides, and improves reliability by taking a good deal of human error out of the equation. Especially on the sales side, my company has seen such efficiency improvements since using Tacton, that working without it would no longer be acceptable. The time required for a sale representative to create a complicated technical offer has been reduced from days to minutes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Tacton CPQ?

The only criticism i can think of has to do with the non-configurable products. We still use TC-Site, and we have many different sales-groups. Each sales group has price lists, templates, products, etc. that are assigned to them. The only aspect of TC-Site that cannot be assigned to these sales groups is the non-configurable list. This has led to the creation of several sites for different sales groups, which means much more overhead to do updates.

This is solved with CPQ i believe, which we are not yet using. Really this is the only issue I can think of, everything else that we have had problems with has been solved by the quite competent support team at Tacton. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Tacton CPQ:

Measure twice, cut once. You should be prepared to invest manpower into the administration of this tool. It is worth the cost, but the management of the product database is a full-time job. (this of course depends on the complexity of the products to be configured). Also consider integration into Salesforce, SAP, etc. These interconnections are costly and difficult to implement, so they should be planned well. But they are also worth it, to reduce double-data-entry and human-error. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Tacton CPQ solving and how is that benefiting you?

Time-saving and reduction of human-error are the biggest advantages. We have also implemented approval-processes in Tacton that help us monitor and control the profit situation across the sales team. Sales personnel are quick to offer extreme discounts to keep important customers, which is now subject to review thanks to the processes implemented in Tacton.
