## Tableau Reviews
 ### 1. Great for BI, Needs Clean Data Integration

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Prachit K. | Salesforce Developer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 23, 2026

**What do you like best about Tableau?**

I love using Tableau for building interactive dashboards and enabling ad-hoc data exploration. Tableau Prep Builder is a game-changer for me, saving countless hours by eliminating the need for writing complex Python or SQL scripts for data cleaning. Its visual, flow-based interface makes it easy to pivot, aggregate, and join data, handle nulls and outliers, and apply regex to messy text fields. I also appreciate how Tableau allows me to standardize dates, deduplicate data based on email and phone, and aggregate lifetime value per customer, which outputs a clean extract ready for dashboards. The flexibility of Tableau really helps us with complex tasks like geospatial analysis and custom visualizations, things that other tools couldn't handle as gracefully.

**What do you dislike about Tableau?**

Tableau doesn't fix bad data. If your source data is dirty, incomplete or poorly modeled, Tableau will just visualize that garbage beautifully. So I always pair Tableau with solid data warehousing (Snowflake/Redshift), proper ETL/data pipelines, and clear data governance and documentation.

**What problems is Tableau solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Tableau for business intelligence, making data understandable for non-tech users, speeding up insights, and eliminating errors in reporting. Tableau Prep Builder saves me time on data cleaning with its visual interface.

 ### 2. Impressive Visualization, But Pricey and Complex Setup

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** suddhasheel b. | Senior Solutions Engineer (presales), Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 18, 2026

**What do you like best about Tableau?**

I really appreciate Tableau's visualization capabilities. It's got a lot of options and the visualizations are jazzy and neat, which is something I really like. I can easily create unique charts, like lollipop charts, in Tableau. And the quality of the presentation is very, very good compared to any other tools I've used.

**What do you dislike about Tableau?**

Most of the visualizations are very hacky, and there's no straightforward way to create them. For example, the lollipop chart I mentioned isn't straightforward to create. Many other visualizations, like a donut chart, are not available in Tableau by default. The pricing is another issue; it's exponentially priced compared to other BI tools in the market. I don't see the value for money there. The setup of Tableau server was very difficult, especially on distributed nodes. The load balancers were not getting set up properly, and achieving a high availability setup was not done. It took us a while to figure it out.

**What problems is Tableau solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Tableau for marketing attribution dashboards and sales analytics, providing insights through its visualization capabilities.

 ### 3. Effective KPI Tracking, Needs Pro Rata Accuracy

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dominic R. | CST Associate, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 23, 2026

**What do you like best about Tableau?**

I like using Tableau to see my progression over every month. It helps me know what I need to be on track for the month and shows how ahead I am for the months to come. I also appreciate how it shows my progress so far and estimates where I should end the month if I keep consistent. The initial setup of Tableau was very easy.

**What do you dislike about Tableau?**

In a sales job, sometimes progression over the month is not linearly consistent, so the pro rata can be a bit off. Potentially, using pro rata compared to other months could make a more accurate estimation of where you are on track to go in terms of monthly KPIs.

**What problems is Tableau solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Tableau to track my KPIs at work. It helps me know if I'm on track for my progression and shows my monthly progression and future predictions.

 ### 4. Difficult Onboarding and Support Hold Back an Otherwise Solid Free Tool

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Utkarsh Y. | Software Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 23, 2026

**What do you like best about Tableau?**

It’s good overall, but Power BI is better. Their UI is better and it’s easier to integrate. That said, its performance is good compared to Power BI, and the fact that it’s free is also a big plus.

**What do you dislike about Tableau?**

Getting started is difficult, and it’s hard to get support when I need it.

**What problems is Tableau solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It shows data in beautiful visuals and helps me engage more effectively with business teams.

 ### 5. Flexible for Analysts, Challenging for Non-Technical Users

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sandy T. | Lead Data Analyst, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 27, 2026

**What do you like best about Tableau?**

I like that Tableau is very flexible for data analysts. It has a lot of functionalities to build in SQL and to use custom coding into your visualizations as well as your data cleanup. Being a data analyst myself, this flexibility in creating visualizations makes it valuable because I can be more flexible on the visualizations that I create, not restricted by the platform itself. Tableau is user-friendly with a lot of functionalities that allow me to create different graphics and also perform data cleanup. It also resolved the issue of bringing in data from different channels, merging it, cleaning it up, and creating visualizations using that final dataset.

**What do you dislike about Tableau?**

It doesn't work well for non-technical users and is hard to navigate for dashboards. Tableau Reader is a terrible program and doesn't work for many people. It's confusing when trying to share dashboards with other users. The initial setup was terrible because the interface doesn't work well with other integrations and kept erroring out.

**What problems is Tableau solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Tableau for making user-friendly data visualizations, merging data from different channels, and cleaning data to create insightful graphics.

 ### 6. Great Visuals but Pricey Compared to Alternatives

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** K Karthik B. | Business Analyst (Data & Strategy), Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 28, 2026

**What do you like best about Tableau?**

I use Tableau for visualization and dashboard creation for stakeholders. I like its wide range of visuals, which simplifies the process of setting a narrative for my stakeholders. The data modeling feature is particularly valuable to me because it allows multiple tables to be joined together without creating complex scripts, especially with multiple levels of detail and dynamic, context-aware joins.

**What do you dislike about Tableau?**

Tableau's pricing is quite expensive compared to Power BI.

**What problems is Tableau solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Tableau for visualization and dashboard creation, helping me tell the overall story to my stakeholders through dashboards and visuals. It simplifies setting a narrative with a wide range of visuals.

 ### 7. Good tool for visualizing data but can be slow at times

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Toshim S. | Sr. Analyst, Partner Revenue Strategy & Operations, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 24, 2025

**What do you like best about Tableau?**

I like how easy it is to turn data into visuals. You don’t need to be super technical to make dashboards or find insights. The drag and drop part makes it quick to build things, and it helps explain numbers in a way everyone can understand.

**What do you dislike about Tableau?**

Sometimes it feels a bit heavy, especially when working with large datasets. It can slow down or take time to load dashboards. Also, a few settings or formatting options are not very straightforward, so you need to dig around to fix small things.

**What problems is Tableau solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tableau helps me understand data faster and show it in a clear way. Instead of going through long spreadsheets, I can make charts and dashboards that highlight trends right away. It saves time in reporting and makes it easier to explain data to others who may not be technical.

 ### 8. Balanced Experience with Room for Improvement

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consulting | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 11, 2025

**What do you like best about Tableau?**

I am not a developer, I am an analyst. I love that I can just drag a dimension onto the canvas, drag a measure, and BAM—a visualization appears. If I want to see it as a bar chart instead of a line, I just click a button

I can publish a complex view, and then my non-technical sales manager can click on a specific segment or region, and the entire dashboard instantly updates. It moves the analysis from IT to the business user.

I can connect it to pretty much anything we use: our cloud databases (BigQuery/Redshift), Salesforce, and even just a local Excel file if needed.

**What do you dislike about Tableau?**

1. The Licensing & Cost Structure is Painful
2. Permissions: Managing user permissions and access rights is a maze of nested groups and settings. It takes too much time to ensure only the right people see the right data.
3. Tableau is fantastic for standard charts (bars, lines, maps), but the moment you want to do anything slightly custom or outside the box—like a non-standard chart layout or precise, pixel-perfect formatting—it turns into a hack

**What problems is Tableau solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The biggest problem it solved for me was getting data out of spreadsheets and into people's hands, quickly.
Visual Exploration: It lets me actually see the data in a way Excel never could. If I see a weird spike in sales in a chart, I can instantly click on that area and drill down to the specific region or product that caused it. It turns passive reporting into active investigation.

 ### 9. Smart Workflow Integration, But Accuracy Suffers with Raw Data

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Leslie N. | WFH services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 07, 2026

**What do you like best about Tableau?**

I think it is smart for workflow integration. Also, to build your own A.I.

**What do you dislike about Tableau?**

Information can become inaccurate when combined with raw data. The AI intelligence system

**What problems is Tableau solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am sure it is helping others create all kinds of business plans and possibilities.

 ### 10. Turns Complex Data into Easy-to-Understand Visuals

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Suzanne N. | Research and Communications Intern, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 17, 2026

**What do you like best about Tableau?**

I like that it turns challenging data into easy to understand and clear visuals.

**What do you dislike about Tableau?**

it's very expensive which makes it inaccessible to the general public.

**What problems is Tableau solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's solving data visualization by making otherwise complex data easy to access.

 ### 11. Good for Reporting, But Expensive and Rigid

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David M. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 16, 2026

**What do you like best about Tableau?**

We like some of the design features of Tableau.

**What do you dislike about Tableau?**

I'm not happy with the hosting of Tableau Server and the cost per user. Also, Tableau's flexibility around design isn't great. As our financial needs evolved, Tableau fell behind and lost the support of our leadership, who now prefer Power BI.

**What problems is Tableau solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tableau solves financial reporting, decision making, and sales tracking for us. We use it for all business reporting and have our own hosted Tableau Server.

 ### 12. Readable Visuals and Smooth Drag-and-Drop, with Hassle-Free Integration

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** shilldas K. | Virtual Assistant, Information Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 09, 2026

**What do you like best about Tableau?**

The kind of visualisations available are very readable and visually nice. The drag and drop is very smooth compared to other tools. Also the integration is direct and no hassle.

**What do you dislike about Tableau?**

It took some time to learn the tool. It would be nice if they had better tutorials. Also pricing.

**What problems is Tableau solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Visualisation of my data is now straightforward. Also multiple sources data was hard to manage, but now not so much.

 ### 13. Strong Legacy and Resources, But AI Feels Outdated

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Wenmo S. | Data Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 17, 2026

**What do you like best about Tableau?**

Brand name product that has a long history, support and plenty of tutorials online.

**What do you dislike about Tableau?**

Much to improve on the AI side because it feels outdated when it comes to AI

**What problems is Tableau solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Analysis, predictions, presentation of the data with illustrations

 ### 14. In-Depth Reporting, but Report Building Can Be Complicated and Disconnect

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Tableau?**

The reporting is very in-depth and lets me capture information that isn’t otherwise captured in our CRM or other applications.

**What do you dislike about Tableau?**

Building the reports can be complicated at times, and they often disconnect from the source.

**What problems is Tableau solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tableu allows us to capture data that we aren’t able to capture anywhere else, and it has become an important part of our business.

 ### 15. Great UI and Integrations, but Slow Loading Holds It Back

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 17, 2026

**What do you like best about Tableau?**

great UI and lots of integrations to different softwares

**What do you dislike about Tableau?**

very slow to load. Not really enterprise ready solution

**What problems is Tableau solving and how is that benefiting you?**

sdlfkj sflskdfjs lfkjsdf

 ### 16. Robust Reporting, but Performance Slowdowns Get in the Way

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in E-Learning | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 07, 2026

**What do you like best about Tableau?**

It is very robust in reporting features. I am able to find everything I need

**What do you dislike about Tableau?**

It bogs down quite a bit but the pause feature is nice, if I can remember to use it.

**What problems is Tableau solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is helping me to find reports for expired accounts and keep track of my quota.

 ### 17. Fast Visualizations with Tableau, but Pricey and Sluggish with Big Data

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Manu P. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 15, 2025

**What do you like best about Tableau?**

I’d say the best thing about Tableau is how quickly you can go from raw data to clear, interactive visuals — without needing to code much. Its drag-and-drop interface and strong data blending make it great for exploring data visually and spotting patterns fast.

**What do you dislike about Tableau?**

It can get heavy and slow with large datasets, the licensing is expensive, and customizing visuals beyond the defaults can be frustrating compared to tools like Power BI or custom dashboards in Python.

**What problems is Tableau solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tableau helps turn complex, scattered data into clear visual insights. It solves problems like data silos, slow reporting, and limited visibility across departments. The benefit is faster, more informed decisions and less dependence on technical teams for everyday analysis.

 ### 18. Connectivity Challenges Compared to Power BI

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Hardware | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 14, 2025

**What do you like best about Tableau?**

Tableau felt powerful but difficult to adopt in a short trial. I ran into basic friction early—connecting to my data source wasn’t seamless, and integrating with O365 added unnecessary setup hurdles. Even after resolving access issues, the interface demanded more configuration before I could build anything meaningful. I can see its flexibility and visual potential, but the onboarding curve felt steep compared to Power BI. Power BI let me load data and produce usable visuals faster with less dependency troubleshooting. I’m not dismissing Tableau, but it requires more time and infrastructure stability than I had during my initial use.

**What do you dislike about Tableau?**

I find the connectivity to data sources in Tableau not as easy or seamless as it was with Power BI.

**What problems is Tableau solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Data visualization

 ### 19. Tableau Offers Great Flexibility

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mirna N. | Head of crm unit, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 15, 2025

**What do you like best about Tableau?**

Tableau is a good tool that offers us a great deal of flexibility in our analytics, along with a variety of built-in connectors.

**What do you dislike about Tableau?**

The number of native connectors is quite limited, and there is a real need to add more options.

**What problems is Tableau solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We continue to operate within the standards of Salesforce and remain in the same Salesforce context.

 ### 20. Great Reporting Features, but Chart Creation Could Be Faster with AI

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Semiconductors | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 16, 2025

**What do you like best about Tableau?**

This tool allows me to create impressive reports and charts that are highly visible and easy to understand, with advanced metrics that enhance the overall experience.

**What do you dislike about Tableau?**

I find it frustrating that it takes me quite a while to create the chart I want. It would be fantastic if you could add an LLM or AI feature, so that by simply describing the chart I need in writing, the tool could generate it for me.

**What problems is Tableau solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use this tool to create charts and reports, which helps me gain clear and understandable insights.

 ### 21. Great Integration, But Filtering and Updates Need Improvement

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Adam M. | Team Lead, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 29, 2025

**What do you like best about Tableau?**

it integrates many different items to be visible collectively

**What do you dislike about Tableau?**

filter options are horrible, and does not upload frequently enough to get the most up to date information

**What problems is Tableau solving and how is that benefiting you?**

it helps me direct specific issues to specific employees. easy to follow up with specifics issues

 ### 22. Powerful Data Aggregation, but Lacks Easy Drill-Down Features

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Christine C. | IT Manager - Salesforce Development, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 15, 2025

**What do you like best about Tableau?**

Tableau can neatly aggregate massive amounts of data quickly and it can bring in data from many different sources

**What do you dislike about Tableau?**

Tableau does not make it very easy to drill into the source data. For example how reports and dashboards does natively in Salesforce.

**What problems is Tableau solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps us see our snowflake data

 ### 23. Versatile Features, But Slow Loading Times

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Luke M. | Business Intelligence Analyst and Manager of Data Department, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 15, 2025

**What do you like best about Tableau?**

Building dashboards is straightforward, and the layout is highly understandable.

As a program manager without data background it was a little difficult to navigate but once I got it, I found it easy to use!

**What problems is Tableau solving and how is that benefiting you?**

One stop shop for visibility on my programs stats!

 ### 25. Great for Data Visualization, but Dashboards Can Be Slow

This tool excels at visualizing data and makes it easy for users to access reporting and create visualizations on their own.

**What do you dislike about Tableau?**

Dashboards often take a long time to load, particularly when the server is under heavy load. This can make accessing information frustrating during peak usage.

**What problems is Tableau solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The democratization of data and reporting empowers everyone across the enterprise to access and utilize data and dashboards. This widespread availability enables employees at all levels to make informed, data-driven decisions.

 ### 26. Great for Easy Reporting, but Limited Data Connectivity and Pricey Read-Only Licenses

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Pankaj J. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 14, 2025

**What do you like best about Tableau?**

Ease of use to create fancy reports connecting to various data sources

**Reviewed Date:** October 16, 2025

**What do you like best about Tableau?**

Tableau has made our dashboards a lot more nicer, accessible and user friendly.

**What do you dislike about Tableau?**

I wish there was an easier way to get real time data from data sources other than Salesforce or Data Cloud.

**What problems is Tableau solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tableau solved the big problem of not having a reliable and user friendly executive dashboard.

 ### 43. Tableau Is Okay

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sam T. | EHR Analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 15, 2025

**What do you like best about Tableau?**

Tableau is good for a user friendly user interface to design dashboards and do basic analytics.

**What do you dislike about Tableau?**

The lack of fine control over analytics such as models applied to time series.

**What problems is Tableau solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows us to create sharable dashboards that have security rights per user. This allows us to share these dashboards for state reporting to specific auditors.

 ### 44. Like an earlier, less effective but cross-platform version of PowerBI

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aleksa M. | Junior Data Analyst, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 13, 2025

**What do you like best about Tableau?**

I liked that it is cross-platform (as I am a Linux user) and it didn't overwhelm me with too many features, making it relatively simple to use

**What do you dislike about Tableau?**

I don't like that it doesn't have a fully free version, it's not open source and it felt like an outdated version of PowerBI and was less intuitive. Maybe it's because I was already used to PowerBI.

**What problems is Tableau solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It creates complicated dashboards, connects to various data sources (unlike PowerBI), and supports advanced customization.

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Manufacturing | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 12, 2025

**What do you like best about Tableau?**

I like the customization tableau provides with visual customization as well as being able to handle larger datasets, especially when working in a manufacturing setting. While I have a technical background in software, co-workers of mine could still engage with it with minimal knowledge cause of it's friendly UI

**What do you dislike about Tableau?**

I've used PowerBI in the past and the price was a roadblock to use it at my company initially as well as it's limited microsoft integration. It's a great tool, but there's a higher cost and even a learning curve in terms of diving deeper into the application's functionality.

**What problems is Tableau solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Primarily it's able to consolidate data from various sources and help paint a deeper picture as to what's going on. Generating views for different users to view data they need is also valuable as well. It helps put everything into one spot and then produce analytics for future predictions for order sizes as well as to give users a good view of the data without needing to dive deeper and deeper
