There are a few minor but annoying issues, like having to type connection-string details (e.g., usernames and role names) in the exact same case as they appear in the source database; otherwise, the connection won’t work. What I like best about Tableau is its ability to turn complex data into clear, interactive visualizations. From a data operations perspective, Tableau works especially well for self-service analytics, allowing business users to answer their own questions while reducing ad-hoc reporting requests. Its strong integration with multiple data sources and flexible dashboarding help teams monitor data quality, performance metrics, and operational health in a very intuitive way. Complexity for Beginners While Tableau is user-friendly in general, some advanced features like calculated fields, LOD expressions, or table calculations have a steep learning curve. It's great at customizing reports for data, customizing the fields and data fields you want and able to also customize the visualization of the analysis as well. It does integrate with Salesforce but I did not find it to be the most seamless connection. We didn't have any difficulty with being able to generate reports overall but it did seem to slow down when there was too much data where it wasn't able to pull in things or take a very long to load I didn't see any AI features when I was using the platform since it's been a few years since i've used it. It had a very difficult onboarding, its a high learning curve for starters especially if you're not highly technical when it comes to statistics. I didn't find it very easy to use but found it useful when others created templates for me to work from. Creating a new report from scratch was practically impossible for me personally. Tableau was able to break down the customer data to details and we were able to slice and dice the data in various ways to share with others internally to have a better strategic conversation. What do you dislike about Tableau? It's a very steep learning curve at first especially if your team does not have an expert on the team. I don't recall getting a lot of support directly from Tableau team. We had an integration with Salesforce that possibly made it complex but I also would've liked to be able to export to other software to manipulate it further on my own but don't recall that being an option. Tableau is a powerful tool for aggregating data from multiple sources, combining it, and presenting it visually. It also allows you to build custom dashboards to monitor your corporate KPIs. On the downside, it can be quite slow, and performance tends to degrade as the volume of data grows significantly.
