I created a 20-minute video for higher education with my AI Avatar, and in very little time, Synthesia took my Google Slides and turned them into magic. It solved the problem of providing professional quality video content that I could share easily and also helped with my nervous public speaking issues. I like the ease of use, the tech support was GREAT, and the ability to download an existing boring PowerPoint into the system and make it into something truly impressive. There were some issues at the start, where I wasted tokens because I didn't know that hitting generate would eat away at my account balance. That was really frustrating. Also, my Avatar's arms were strange and transparent on several screens. Lastly, the pronunciation of words was off quite a bit, and I had to spend a ton of time writing out what to say in a phonetically correct way. But the biggest issue is that our nation has low quality broadband. So even after I did all this work, I could not get the video to play in a suitable way via Zoom or even through the link on YouTube. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to play the video at all. Now I'm trying to upload it on LinkedIn and the file is too big to post. I don't blame Synthesia for this, but would have liked to know this stuff before we nearly went live with 1200 participants. I love the customer interaction with the staff at Synthesia. They support content creation and enhance the knowledge base on how to use the platform. I would love the ability for our learners to be able to save their progress as they continue on their learning. Some videos, we cannot make two minute videos, unfortunately, right now. Some of the training sometimes freezes as it's dependent on their Wi-Fi and bandwidth. A lot of our officers are accessing training on their phone and could be in between different buildings, so that's where saving progress would be a great addition. I use Synthesia to create videos for our eLearning courses. I appreciate how it allows us to quickly customize videos for client-specific needs and easily translate them into multiple languages, which reduces our costs. In the past, changing videos meant rehiring actors, renting studio time, reshooting, and re-editing, which took a lot of time and money. With Synthesia, we can do the same work in a day or less. The presentation functions aside from the avatars are somewhat not as intuitive to use, and some functions are missing, like those known from PowerPoint.
