I love that Synthesia is so easy to use. It is kind of like using PowerPoint to build the videos. I also like how easy it was to create a virtual avatar of myself. It has consistently worked; I have not experienced any outage, so it it is always available for me to use. The pricing of the minutes is clear for using. I have found tutorials for pretty much everything I have wanted to do. I did have to contact Customer Support for assistance at one point and they got back to me right away with answers. The only thing I don't like is the current pricing; it feels really expensive to only get 120 minutes for the entire year. Would like more minutes - or the ability to purchase a set quantity of more minutes (i.e., another 30 minutes) without having to upgrade to an entirely new level of account. The UI is very clean and easy to navigate. At first, it wasn’t possible to add our own avatars, but now it is, which makes Synthesia a more effective tool for internal use. I’ve used Synthesia to create a video, and the process was very straightforward and simple. I’d like Synthesia to generate link codes that can be used with SharePoint. Right now, this feature is missing, and I’d really like a SharePoint integration. It would be even better if we could generate web embed codes that can be used directly in our internal communication letters, so we don’t have to download the video first and then upload it to the page. One challenge I’ve experienced with Synthesia is difficulty accessing the affiliate dashboard. Currently, I’m unable to log in, which makes it hard to track performance, manage referrals, or fully take advantage of the affiliate program. This kind of access issue can be frustrating, especially when trying to actively promote the platform and monitor results. While the avatars are impressive, they can sometimes feel slightly robotic or lack deeper emotional expression, especially for storytelling content, and also for small businesses or creators just starting out, the pricing may feel expensive compared to other video tools. It’s really easy to use, and it provides unlimited previews for fine-tuning the avatar’s voice. Also, the Photo avatar is much better than the legacy (video) one. Creation of new photo avatar is really quick and the time to generate videos is also OK.

I also really like the integration of Gen AI like Veo 3.1 for generating short B-roll videos and changing outfits.

In my organization we are using 100+ licences so the pricing per year is really affordable. We also have a dedicated Happyness manager, so support is really quick and pleasent.

In all honesty, the possibility of Streaming avatar and something like Mascot avatar would be really helpful. But I understand legislative issues connected to that.

I used Synthesia to create videos for my eLearning modules. Compared with other platforms, the biggest advantage for me is the time savings. Synthesia saves a lot of time, and the videos are easy to edit. The characters are also good, and I can use AI scenes and characters as needed. The lip-sync works like a gem as well. The Synthesia platform has been very helpful for us in creating course lectures for our law school classes. I can input my PowerPoint slides along with content by our instructors and Dean to add to the class content on our LMS system for online classes. It was easy to pick different avatars for each course instead of using the same one or just a few "live" class instructors and make time to film their lectures for weekly course materials. My only dislike so far would be that a few videos have been flagged and I had to appeal to get them released. I think it is because the videos deal with elements of law, but we are a Law Scholl as I constantly explain in order to get them released and that they are only being used for course content and not the general public. I like Synthesia’s capabilities and how easily and quickly I can create a good video with it. The platform is simple to use and very intuitive. A crucial feature for me is its translation options: I translate my training videos into 20 languages, and the translation quality is very good. I can also see that it keeps improving over time. I miss some of the statistics. I think this should be more automated: I need to know how many views my videos are getting, and I’d like to be able to download an Excel report in a single file instead of clicking through videos one by one. Some editing features are also missing. Once a video is created, I ask people for feedback, and when they send me timestamps for what should be corrected, I can’t jump directly to that point. Synthesia has really changed how we create tutorials for our language training—both internally and for our clients. Sometimes it’s unclear which features I actually have access to on the Creator plan. Often, things look clickable, but then I find out I need to upgrade to use them. I also sometimes find it difficult to navigate between the different elements on a page, which can make the overall experience feel a bit confusing. Customer support has been a bit hit or miss when it comes to answering questions about subscriptions. I don't find the chatbot particularly useful.
