"Easy and Quick, but Pronunciation to Improve"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Synthesia?

I love the ease and speed of use of Synthesia. There are many choices of templates and avatars. I don't need to create slides myself since I can directly use the templates. The wide choice of avatars is also appreciated for user comfort. Moreover, the initial setup of Synthesia was very easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Synthesia?

I find that the pronunciation of certain words depending on the regions is problematic, like in Quebec where the language used is French, but some English words are pronounced in English. I also have difficulties organizing the text with the video, which makes me lose time in adding pauses as well as in expressing punctuation and animating the avatar. "Efficient and Intuitive with Room for Improvement"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Synthesia?

I find Synthesia super amazing due to its ease of use, which is great when recording tutorials for my online program. I really like the variety of avatars available from different ethnic groups with various expressions. It makes creating interactive videos much simpler and more relatable. I appreciate the opportunity to use different avatars to represent parts of the videos, which helps in conveying my message effectively. Additionally, I value the Feature Fridays as they keep me informed about new features or improvements and show me how to use them, which is helpful. Plus, having access to links for the content makes it easy to apply new features to my videos, and that's super amazing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Synthesia?

I think the synthetic voices could be improved. They sometimes make sounds that make the video feel a bit disconnected, like when the sounds are too loud or not fluid enough. Also, the hand gestures of the avatars don't look natural. Sometimes it seems like the hands only have three or four fingers instead of five. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Intuitive Interface, Great for Streamlining"
5/5
What do you like best about Synthesia?

I especially like Synthesia's interface because the dashboard and the interface are very easy to use, quite user-friendly, and intuitive. It includes all of the media and design kits. I'm able to add text on screen text and insert videos. Most of all, I like the avatars. There are lots of avatars available to be used, and I even created my own avatar. This makes it much easier for product owners to familiarize themselves with me, so we get along very easily. Synthesia does all the work for me, and I don't need to get service from an external application. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Synthesia?

Well, especially the creation of the video time. You know, sometimes it takes, you know, half an hour for a long video to be created although you only would like to, you know, change a text within a certain video, it still requires all of the video to be updated. This takes time, and I wish that this could somehow be improved and made much faster. The AI integration could be somehow maybe improved to a more intuitive user interface. "Effortlessly Professional Presentations with Synthesia"
5/5
What do you like best about Synthesia?

I use Synthesia for making training and marketing videos, and new hire orientations. It's very easy to use and helps me put together presentations quickly. The use of AI makes the presentations much more presentable. For the viewers, it feels like they are really getting great information because it's not just a PowerPoint; there's someone actually speaking to them. The platform is extremely easy to set up and is very user-friendly. In my larger organization of about 500 people, the staff sees the Synthesia videos and loves them. I'd definitely recommend it and would give it a ten. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Synthesia?

I think the use of the green screen to create your own AI should be given to those that pay, not just the annual very, very, very extremely high price tag. If it was a lot more feasible, I, for one, would have my own AI that I can throw onto any presentation, but, unfortunately, you've made that out of reach for the small people. "Quick, Easy Video Creation with High-Quality Exports That Saves Us Money"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Synthesia?

Very quick to go from nothing to a full flegged high qaulity video, easy to use video editor and great export functions too. This tool has saved us alot of $ over the 3+ years we have had it and allowed us as a company to provide videos to our customers at high quality/low time to build. What do you dislike about Synthesia?

On some instances, the moderation has kicked in and prevented us from having a video, everytime i have escalated it with the support team and it has been resolved the same day. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Lightning-Fast Video Creation and Instant Localization at Scale"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Synthesia?

The speed of transformation. It turns what used to be a multi-day video production—involving actors, equipment, and retakes—into a simple task that takes minutes. The ability to localize high-quality content into dozens of languages instantly is a total game-changer for global teams. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Synthesia?

The main drawbacks are the "uncanny valley" effect and the rigid editing workflow. While the avatars are impressive, they still lack the nuanced emotional range and natural gestures needed for high-stakes storytelling.

Additionally, the lack of real-time editing is a bottleneck; making a small change to a script often requires a full re-render, which is time-consuming. Finally, the entry-tier minute caps are quite restrictive, forcing a steep price jump if your monthly output grows even slightly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Extensive, well-made avatars, lightning-fast support"
5/5
What do you like best about Synthesia?

I find Synthesia brilliant. I particularly appreciate the huge selection of avatars and the use of AI, which is much better than other tools like Camtasia. The avatars are very comprehensive and well-made, and the matching voices are very good in every language. The support at Synthesia is professional and very fast. What I like best is that you are always kept informed about the status of things, so you always feel well taken care of. Additionally, I find the initial setup of Synthesia to be super easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Synthesia?

The synchronization later when creating the video between the recorded image and the text is unsatisfactory. For example, when I insert pauses, both the image and the text pause simultaneously. I would like to have an option to pause the text while the image continues to run, so that I can synchronize my mouse movements on the screen with the text. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Love the Product, Frustrated by Expiring Credits"
2.5/5
What do you like best about Synthesia?

We’ve been using Synthesia to create educational videos for our students, and from a product perspective it’s excellent. The quality of the AI avatars, voices and overall platform has been a great asset to our business. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Synthesia?

Unfortunately, our experience with the monthly subscription model has been disappointing.

Our plan includes a monthly allocation of credits. The issue is that if you don’t have enough credits remaining to generate a complete video, those credits become effectively unusable. At the end of the billing cycle, any unused credits are simply wiped, despite having been paid for.

When we raised this with customer support, we were told to “make sure you use all your credits” or switch to an annual subscription. Unfortunately, that isn’t a practical solution. If the remaining balance isn’t enough to create another video, there is no way to use those credits before they expire.

We have no objection to paying a premium for a month-to-month subscription. We simply believe customers should receive fair value for what they’ve paid for. Allowing a limited credit rollover, the ability to purchase only the shortfall required to complete a video, or even a small overdraft deducted from the following month’s credits would solve this issue and demonstrate a more customer-focused approach.

We genuinely like the product and would happily continue using it long-term. However, the current credit policy leaves us feeling that we’ve paid for something we are not given a fair opportunity to use, which is disappointing for an otherwise outstanding platform. "Effortless Training Videos with Room for Improvement"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Synthesia?

I use Synthesia for creating training videos, and I like that it solves the problem of making creation simple and quick, especially using AI. The process is not just clean and precise, but also fun. What I like most about Synthesia is the quality of the avatars, especially if it's a personal avatar. They look smooth, clean, and professional. The in-house avatars are great and very fluid, and the movement is fluid as well, which makes everything look more realistic and acceptable to the viewer. The initial setup was pretty simple and not difficult at all. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Synthesia?

The pay gate to branding guidance is a bit of an issue for me. I want to keep my videos on brand at all times, but it requires an enterprise level subscription of which I’m not at that level as yet. Also, I can't change backgrounds or outfits for my personal avatar, which is something I'd like to have more control over. At my subscription level, which is $70 a month, I was expecting more features and functions like these. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy to use, quick to learn, and with constantly improving features"
5/5
What do you like best about Synthesia?

I like how easy it is to use and how quickly it can be learned, without needing to review any manual, simply by following the steps indicated by the program itself. I also appreciate the number of features it keeps incorporating, as well as the improvement of avatars and translations, with the possibility of using a "custom" translation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Synthesia?

A disadvantage for me is the time it takes to transform a file; for example, converting a PPT into a video. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
