## SYNQ Reviews
  ### 1. Product Offers Data Quality Analytics and Responsive Development for Changing Needs

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bjorn B. | Data Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 03, 2025

**What do you like best about SYNQ?**

Best thing about Synq is that we not only get our daily operations like alerting the right owners handled, but also more analytical insight in the data health, that can be used for reporting data quality insight to c-level. Besides this the team are constantly developing on the tooling and features, to make the product as helpfull and useful as possible. And if we have questions or bugs, the support is really easy to get a hold of and things are being addressed fast.

**What do you dislike about SYNQ?**

The only downside I can come up with, it that because they often develop new features, old features might be deprecated, so ways of working might need to be adjusted according to those.

**What problems is SYNQ solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Synq helps us notify the correct owners of data products as soon as the alert happens. So errors in the data models can be fixed as soon as possible. Besides this the analytical insight gives us the possibility to look a bit deeper into a domain and see how the development of the data quality have been within this domain, to highlight points of interest.

  ### 2. Great tool for data quality monitoring and lineage across tools

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Leisure, Travel & Tourism | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 06, 2025

**What do you like best about SYNQ?**

Synq is an excellent tool for monitoring data quality issues in dbt, such as failed tests, and for examining data lineage. It enables you to track data flows from their sources, through dbt models and Snowflake tables, all the way to Looker explores, tiles, and dashboards. This is an essential aid when it comes to maintaining models. The team has also been very responsive and of great support in helping us make the most of the tool

**What do you dislike about SYNQ?**

The website's user interface can be somewhat difficult to navigate. Additionally, the process for triaging issues and marking them as investigating or resolved feels a bit clunky.

**What problems is SYNQ solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SYNQ is solving 2 core problems: it provides a centralized visual hub for failing tests and monitors, helping us identify and solve data quality issues as they arise, and it provides comprehensive lineage of data across tools. In particular, lineage in Looker is quite useful as it easily allows to check where a model is used across all dashboards. It really helps maintenance and checking usage of models.

  ### 3. A great tool with lots of potential

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jules J. | Lead Analytics Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 07, 2024

**What do you like best about SYNQ?**

Synq is integrated with all our data stack (github, dbt, Snowflake and Looker) and in an almost seamless way. It help us to maximise our efficienty and minimise the development/maintenance cost by adding an overlay on top of dbt systems (assets, runs, alerts, tags, ...).

For me, the most important features are:
 - incident management, centralised our dbt alerts, group them in a smart way and add on top of it a notion of "incident" with downstrams impacts
 - data catalogue, with column lineage and nice filters

As a "new competitors" in the market, I also think they want to stay close to their customers, and listen to their feedbacks, which is very nice.

**What do you dislike about SYNQ?**

There are some minor "UX" bugs and inconsistency. Probably because they're more focused on developing their core functionalities rather than the surface layer, but I have no doubt that it will only get better with time (and the overall UX experience is already satisfying).

**What problems is SYNQ solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Provide a "control center" for your data systems, to easily identify, resolve and communicate any problems that may arise.
This helps us to be more efficient, and to implement more robust processes.

  ### 4. SYNQ allows an easy overview of data quality across the whole data platform at any moment

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Accounting | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 06, 2025

**What do you like best about SYNQ?**

Great tool for managing your data platform, ensuring it’s easy to spot when and where things have gone wrong when problems arise. It's integration with dbt means that we can view the data reliability across our whole DAG. The customer support is brilliant and they are always willing to help troubleshoot when needed.

**What do you dislike about SYNQ?**

The UI is not completely intuitive and takes some getting used to. I would say their AI feature is still in the early development phase.

**What problems is SYNQ solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Synq allows us to monitor data quality and reliability across our whole DAG.

  ### 5. Enabling centralised data quality analytics and alerting with synq

Synq is an excellent tool for viewing and managing data quality metrics, and it also provides daily alerting. With Synq, we can easily monitor and troubleshoot failures in our sqlmesh models and audits. The Synq team has always been attentive, responding quickly to any issues and providing prompt support.

**What do you dislike about SYNQ?**

One drawback of syqn is the visibility on if all audits are being pulled through

**What problems is SYNQ solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Synq enables us to consistently meet our data quality metrics and monitor them over time. Additionally, it serves as our alerting tool, allowing us to quickly identify and address any issues that arise.

  ### 6. A centralised hub for data observability within our organisation

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rory O. | Analytics Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 17, 2025

**What do you like best about SYNQ?**

Synq has significantly streamlined how our team manages and collaborates on data issues across the organisation. It has become an essential part of our workflow by enabling us to quickly respond to, collaborate on, and resolve data issues before they escalate. In particular, its super easy to integrate granular level dbt test alerts and custom Synq monitors into Slack. The tool also empowers both technical and business stakeholders by providing full visibility into data lineage, including column level-lineage, from ingestion to dashboard.

The tool has easily saved us hours of time a week by reducing the volume of ad-hoc queries we recieve and improving the efficeny in which we respond to data incidents.

The team at Synq has been very responsive in developing new features and continually enhancing the tool. Their commitment to supporting us and ensuring we get the most out of the platform has been invaluable.

**What do you dislike about SYNQ?**

While Synq has evolved significantly over the last few years, fully leveraging its improvements requires data teams to invest time in engaging with these updates, which may involve adjustments to existing workflows. To maximize the tool's potential, it's crucial for data teams to secure full buy-in from key stakeholders across the business.

**What problems is SYNQ solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Synq's provides us with a centralised platform for data observatility, that can be used by both technical and business stakeholders. It has significantly streamlined how our team manages and colloborates on data issues - saving hours of time weekly by allowing us to respond to errors as soon test failures occur and colloborate on a fix in a centralised platform. The tool also empowers both technical and business stakeholders by providing full visibility into data lineage, from ingestion to dashboard - reducing the number of ad-hoc queries the data team recieves and freeing up our time to work on other projects.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Hector O. | Data Scientist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 14, 2024

**What do you like best about SYNQ?**

Synq offers a centralised place to monitor the data quality of your data sources, who owns them and provides a very nice alerting system when one of the set-up tests fails. My favourite feature is their "Data Products" where you can define a set of related assets that affect a single product (in our case, ML models).

It was super easy to set it up with Snowflake and DBT as our stack and the technical support from Synq has been amazing. The frequency at which they release features has also been impressive.

**What do you dislike about SYNQ?**

It gets a bit getting used to Synq's "vocabulary" so-to-speak which makes finding a given feature in their website a bit complex sometimes. However, I trust that they'll improve the UX in the future making it easier to use.

**What problems is SYNQ solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Monitoring ongoing issues with our data sources, notifying the relevant owners as well as having an overview of whether products are healthy or not.

- The customer support is really great. We stay in touch very frequently and have very produtive chats about how to get the most out of the tool and what is currently being worked on. So we feel very heard.

**What do you dislike about SYNQ?**

Some features are still being worked on, so there is sometimes some waiting time. But it's usually quite quick and they always stay in touch regarding the process.

**What problems is SYNQ solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Synq enables me to monitor my data with much more ease than before. This means that I have a much better overview over the status, quality and structure of my data.

  ### 19. More than you'd expect

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Yordan I. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 20, 2024

**What do you like best about SYNQ?**

I've been using Synq for the last year, and it's just outstanding.

One aspect of Synq that truly stands out is its extensive range of features. From dbt tests to automated quality monitors to cross-project column-level lineage, Synq offers a comprehensive solution for all your data management requirements.

But what I like the most is the people of Synq. They actively reach out, looking for feedback. But they don't just react immediately. More often than not, Synq's team comes up with a new game-changing feature that solves a problem you thought couldn't be solved.

**What do you dislike about SYNQ?**

Can't think of any major negative

The team has a ton of ground-breaking ideas, but not enough resource to implement everything.

**What problems is SYNQ solving and how is that benefiting you?**

**What do you like best about SYNQ?**

Pinpointing an industry wide problem and turning it into a product that saves us up to hours. Development over the years has been fast and always on point. Ready to use and implement without too much of a hassle and the features keep on increasing over time.

**What do you dislike about SYNQ?**

Due to close contact to the teams and short feedback loops, small discomforts were always solved incredibly fast.

**What problems is SYNQ solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- Observability of data issues
- Clear view of data lineage accros products

  ### 25. Effective Data Lineage and Integration with Synq

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Games | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

- Intuitive usage, making it easy to navigate and utilise effectively
- Good integration of downstream data assets and ease of use with Slack integration, enhancing overall data management efficiency, real-time notifications and team collaboration
- Great customer care with responsive and helpful support

**What do you dislike about SYNQ?**

- Occasionally slow, potentially due to the large number of data assets being managed
- Not all information from DBT docs is captured (e.g. sort keys for Redshift Tables), which can limit the comprehensiveness of the tool's insights

**What problems is SYNQ solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- Helps address data reliability topics by allowing us to proactively identify and resolve issues
- The tool enables us to send alerts to relevant data owners, ensuring timely resolution of data issues

  ### 26. Exceptional Product and Support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Frederik H. | Head Of Data Platform, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 01, 2024

**What do you like best about SYNQ?**

We have now been using Synq for the last couple of months and are really liking the product so far.

It has provided a lot of value to our existing data stack, and the ongoing development is amazing.

I could mention many features, such as anomaly detection, dbt testing, data products, ownership, etc., but the most valued aspect of Synq is their communication with customers.

We have provided feedback on various aspects, such as business alerting, and within a short amount of time, they have delivered on it.

**What do you dislike about SYNQ?**

The only thing I can think of as is that they are a smaller team, but that also gives a great opportunity to actively impact the development.

**What problems is SYNQ solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Data Observability, Business Alerting, Error Detection and Incident management.

  ### 27. Very great experience with Synq

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Yanghong L. | analytics engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 14, 2024

**What do you like best about SYNQ?**

- The collorabtion with their team, they are very quick to adapt to new situations and always quick on response to our questions
- The UI is very easy to navigate

**What do you dislike about SYNQ?**

we haven't been able to ultilize their data catalog funtion, mainly because we have different use cases, but they are very open to help to develop it to fit us.

**What problems is SYNQ solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- Monitor our core data products and the slack alert really keep us on top of things
- Assist us to debug when things go wrong and see the root cause with their very nice table&column lineage

  ### 28. A reliable tool to maintain data quality

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Accounting | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 12, 2024

**What do you like best about SYNQ?**

Synq is very helpful for us in maintaining the data quality & managing the stability. Synq alerts us the unexpected errors and is seamlessly integrated with other tools to notify us what the issue is, what is the latest state of the issue etc.,

**What do you dislike about SYNQ?**

Can't think-off any. It is very easy & reliable.

**What problems is SYNQ solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Synq to help us identify the quality issues in our data modelling mainly by notifying us of the errors in primary keys. By this way, we get to address the errors and hence stay on top of our data modelling.

  ### 29. End-to-End Observability for Most of Our Tools

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Hardware | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 07, 2024

**What do you like best about SYNQ?**

Integrates nicely with most tools we use: Slack, dbt, BigQuery, Looker etc. End to end observability makes it much easier to keep track of what data we use and where we use it. Column level lineage is a game changer for observability through our layers. Makes us able to better decentralise responsibility of both creating and following up alerts as well as notifying consumers of failing data. Nice that they listen to feedback from their users.

**What do you dislike about SYNQ?**

The product is still a little young with some bugs and it still changes a lot in the UI. But I appreciate that it’s fast moving and bugs are disappearing!

**What problems is SYNQ solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helping us check if data is used downstream, if data is either stale or wrong, and it helps us better communicate errors to maintainers of data and stakeholders
