I really like how Synergis Adept streamlines the process for making sure our 650,000 drawings are always up-to-date. It's great that the members at our plants can access the most recent versions, which is crucial for us. The feature where users can still see older versions if needed is also really helpful for revision comparisons. It's fairly easy to update drawings with the program and the updates go fairly quickly. I appreciate the much easier interface and the streamlined web application, which makes access quick and enhances the user experience for our teams in the plant. i was grandfathered into a Document management position at Toray and didn't know a thing about Adept until i was hired . I have a gift of being able to pick up and learn software so i wasn't worried. Everything from the Adept experience, the help desk, and my first System Upgrade these folks are top notch with customer service . they really want you to succeed. i guess the only Dislikes are a few system limitations. Its a document management software and at Toray we try to use it and make it do things it was designed for. the viewer is another dislike however iv'e heard in 2025 release that is changing. The viewer curently doesn't have a option to print straight to a printer. I think once you learn the system there isn't a whole lot of dislikes. I use Synergis Adept for managing drawings for Algoma Steel, and it's the best product to apply management workflows to a large amount of drawings. I really like the completeness of the product and the support, which is stellar. The initial setup was very easy. I have been a customer of Synergis and using the Adept software for over 20 years. I have worked with them through two different companies with two different systems and Adept has worked smoothly and reliably for both.

Their install and training team are impeccable . I have met and spoken to many of the people who work for this company all the way to the top. Once you are involved with Adept you feel you are part of a team and you can reach out for assistance whenever its needed.

Adept itself is a top-notch Document Management system. They LISTEN to suggestions made by their customers and continue to look forward and make enhancements. The software is solid and I feel our documents and their versions are secure. I think the most amazing thing is that they are always forward facing and they look to their customers for opinions and ideas and always make you feel like you are an important member of the Adept family. Lack of features that makes it difficult to place a version of a document between others if found later during review of paper files. The workflow is intuitive to setup, and the workflow tool has flexibility for the approval process be as simple or as complex as the company structure requires.

The software is cumbersome to install and often requires an Adept Administrator to come back and repair or reinstall one or more files. In addition, there are many nuances that can make the software finicky if the settings are not correct.

It also takes years to develop in-depth knowledge of the software. To fully utilize it to its potential, you really need someone on staff with extensive past experience.

Simple, easy to understand document management that meets all our business goals. Adept integrate with Autodesk software very well. I love how it handles xrefs in AutoCAD. There are no downsides to having all your documents in an easy to find system! I haven't found a good solution to store laser scanned point clouds with the individual scan files in the "support" folder in Adept yet. **I requested a feature request **More and more companies are moving to electronic file storage. Because of this, files are almost handled like assets which have life cyles. In addition, these files are a lot of times the source for confirming installation dates of equipment or are used in the determination of depreciation for accounting records. In my opinion, companies must develop or refine policies and procedures on file retention. I would love to see Adept develop a module for administrators to use as a tool for file retention.
