The APIs for the controls between different technologies is largely consistent, so if you want to move your code to a Blazor version from a WPF version, that is possible. The large number of controls mean that you can pick the best UI implementation for your feature. Nuget package integration means that it is easy to integrate with Visual Studio and your CI chain. Support tickets are answered in one or two business days. They do have lots of documentation to make it easy to implement your solution. Best feature is that if you are a startup, you can use their free license until you start making money. **What do you dislike about Essential Studio?** Because there are so many UI technologies and versions from Microsoft, Syncfusion has to keep updating their controls and that leads to some missing controls like chat control, between different frameworks. Most people are familiar with MS Excel so that was a natural choice for the report format. I needed to produce the report every morning based on the previous days fire incidents. We wrote an application that processed the data from the previous day and delivered it as an excel spreadsheet via email to my users. They, of course, were focused on the data contained in the report and not the infrastructure or tools that delivered it. Having access to the source code gives me peace of mind know as an engineering manager knowing I have the option to troubleshoot in any layer of the code we're writing or the vendor controls we are using **What do you dislike about Essential Studio?** This is not really a dislike, but something to point out. Since the control library has so many components (which is a very good thing), it does take up a reasonable amount of space on your developer machine. This is something easily overcome these days with our large hard drives on dev machines. **What problems is Essential Studio solving and how is that benefiting you?** This library helps me to turn around solutions much quickly as I don't have to write all these components by hand and re-invent the wheel. It's definitely a savings when it comes to time and money. ### 37. For probably 80% of the use cases, there is no need to add anything new to components in the suite and they are quite stable. **What do you dislike about Essential Studio?** The list of features in most Syncfusion components is, I would say, comprehensive. However, for advanced use cases, one might find it hard to achieve one's purpose with a specific component. It is not often, but I have come across the need to really exploit a component's API and I have come out short. **What problems is Essential Studio solving and how is that benefiting you?** The product in which I have worked on integrating Syncfusion components is one that heavily relies on the accurate representation and manipulation of data. Syncfusion components that expose the data whether it is in a graphical or tabular fashion, have greatly helped us achieve the goal of putting in our customer's hands the ability to analyze and operate with real-time data. ### 38. Work in progress. A much smoother ride than trying to do stuff in the Adobe API overall. Being a startup the free tier really helps sell adoption internally, with a smooth ramp to volume pricing. Very good support on their forum. **What do you dislike about Essential Studio?** They are too tightly bound to .NET frameworks and apparently haven't adopted devops automated tests to ensure code quality of their libraries. Whenever I wander a little ways off their examples, I get either a hang or at best, an obscure internal error from deep inside their code. Given .NET overhead, it shouldn't be much of a slowdown to check all of their inputs and state assumptions. They seem to be working from design by cool example rather than big projects. For example given a PDFpage object, which index of which document is it in? Adobe's API is a little bit more flexible, up until you hit the limits Adobe's lawyers set and then your project dies horribly. **What problems is Essential Studio solving and how is that benefiting you?** Currently using it as a toolkit to extract information from old PDFs to build new PDFs. ### 39. More importantly, to me at least, is that it doesn't need to be running or implemented at app startup and doesn't interfere with other sections of the app that don't require syncfusion features. **What do you dislike about Essential Studio?** If you don't use it as the example shows, or have varied use cases, features start to break. It would be great if features are broken down a bit more and easier to add on top of each other. **What problems is Essential Studio solving and how is that benefiting you?** Time, where possible I not to create modules that already exist, especially if I'm not recreating. For example, it would take time to create a calendar for a booking system, and the calendar wouldn't operate any different to any already coded. ### 43. I take the credit in-house, but here I'll admit it's thanks to the comprehensiveness of the Syncfusion controls. Also, the "community" version of the controls means an indie developer can use them for projects without spending a dime. That's so awesome! **What do you dislike about Essential Studio?** The biggest downside is if you like writing every line of code yourself, you'll have to go to therapy or something to get over that. **What problems is Essential Studio solving and how is that benefiting you?** So many apps to write/maintain and so few hours in a day. With Syncfusion, we're able to skip the housekeeping stuff (really, how many times in my life should I have to write the code for a list control?!) and work on the code that makes our customers happy. ### 44. I've been using their UI components (both in blazor and angular) as well as their excel document library. These tools are relatively easy to use and enable me to create fully featured user interfaces with much less effort than if I rolled my own. Also, I have found their customer support to be excellent. I have communicated with the team on some technical issues and they spent the time to review and understand my problem and dig into the issue to determine where the problem lay. Combine this great service with a generous small business license and I find myself checking Syncfusion's toolset before looking anywhere else. **What do you dislike about Essential Studio?** Sometimes setting up a UI component for the first time can be a little fidgety. This is mostly because their documentation, while fairly comprehensive, doesn't provide many examples of the vanilla functionality. Most of the examples tweak quite a few css classes making if difficult to determine at a quick glance what is out of the box functionality and what is customized. **What problems is Essential Studio solving and how is that benefiting you?** I am using their Excel document library to generate custom/dynamic excel workbooks from a code first approach. I am also using many of their UI components in a Blazor web based app that is wrapped to be deployed as a desktop UI. I appreciate not having to reinvent the wheel each time I use these products. ### 46.
