You are able to check the status of your device at any time, as it has a user-friendly tray icon making it easy to find if you forget the spelling (or even the name) of this product. Most users have no need to "use" the product, and simply need to allow it to run in the background. When a user does need to access the program, it is very simple and laid out so even a novice user is able to navigate. **What do you dislike about Symantec Data Loss Prevention?** Viruses occasionally get through, as the software does not update frequently to keep up with the newest viruses and spyware. Symantec has added the missing things it needed (CASB), Cloud DLP, etc. through its aquisition of Bluecoat and only get's better. Symantec DLP leads the market for a reason. It is the best product out there. No other solution that I've looked at integrates all areas of Data Loss as well. Other products focus on one area (Cloud, Web, Email, etc.) but Symantec tackles all of them in an integrated fashion and works well at it **What do you dislike about Symantec Data Loss Prevention?** DLP fails when you relay on the product too much and don't establish an Incident Response portion of things. I think a true ticketing system for responding to tickets and escalations either needs to be built in or integrated to the solution. It's used by a lots of big customer to prevent data stealing. The robust architecture is composed by three level: Oracle database, enforce server and reporting server. The database mantain all logs and configuration and iit's based on one of the best dbms on the market. The other two layers are symantec propietary and they are involved into the web ui and the policy creation. They are required also to distribute the policy to specific agent that enforce the DLP policy in the client. **What do you dislike about Symantec Data Loss Prevention?** I donpt like the complexyti in the management of oracle databases that require most of the time a dedicated database manager. Tool like Symantec DLP mostly depend on how the architecture and initial configuration is performed. Break fixing is difficult to achieve once the solution goes live. Be sure to hire good architecture designers & consultants if new to this type of technology.
