**What do you like best about Sangoma Unified Communications Platform?**

Switchvox is a virtual machine which requires no special hardware when using a SIP provider.  The D80 phone is beautiful and includes a bluetooth headset interface.

**What do you dislike about Sangoma Unified Communications Platform?**

Faxing out is clunky.  It would be nicer if there was a Hylafax style email interface.  Switchvox does not allow operating system access for customization.  It doesn't provide the ability to copy call rules to all or multiple extensions.  Additional scripting functions would help to make IVR scripts.

**What problems is Sangoma Unified Communications Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed to be able to run 24 inbound trunks, 60 DIDs, and 50 extensions all having voice and Fax.

Too many connectivity problems.  Bad connections, dropped calls (on both ends).  

**Recommendations to others considering Sangoma Unified Communications Platform:**

First experience with VoIP system.  Compared it to a number of other systems.  In the end the decision was primarily is was based on the overall price (equipment, monthly service, service commitment) that lead us to Switchvox.  Not disappointed with Switchvox, but hope some things are going to be improved.

Land based telephone -- competitive pricing for all the features

**What do you like best about Sangoma Unified Communications Platform?**

The management interface is very easy to use and understand. Our team had a hard time with our old system and this is just a walk in the park for us. We can easily add extensions and groups, bulk modify extensions, and make changes to our IVR in a few clicks. Reporting is also a feature we did not have previously and this lets us know concurrent calls and logs. Everything is an easy drop down.

**What do you dislike about Sangoma Unified Communications Platform?**

There isn't an out of office date range for when I'm on vacation to go back to my in office when I come back.

Buy it, you won't regret when you switch. They make the transition easy and simple.

Group calling (calls go to multiple phones), record messages, transfer and hold calls with ease.

The admin page is unlike any other I have dealt with.  You can get reports on everything, also manage each individual phone on the network, and even change wallpapers on them.

**What do you dislike about Sangoma Unified Communications Platform?**

The only downside that I have seen so far, is the need to restart the system about once a month, otherwise phones get out of sync.

Switchvox continues to innovate and I like that.

Moving from Toshiba IP phones, this system was a breeze to install and is installed on a super tiny Intel Nuc server.

Switchvox provides a cost effective phone system for our call center and does not nickle and dime us on licensing. The interface is intuitive and support has been very responsive.

**What do you dislike about Sangoma Unified Communications Platform?**

We would like to see a few more advanced features for the call center routing; however, it's definitely a wish list and we get by without those things today.

**Recommendations to others considering Sangoma Unified Communications Platform:**

Consider softphones for some of your endpoints instead of physical handsets.  This keeps equipment costs down.

We implemented a call center queue that is easy to manage and inexpensive compared to alternatives.

**What do you like best about Sangoma Unified Communications Platform?**

We evaluated several products before deciding on SwitchVox. We initially went with a competitor and realized it did have all the some of the features we required. We then purchased SwitchVox and have been very happy with the product. It works. We haven't had any downtime due to technical issues. I highly recommend this product.

**What do you dislike about Sangoma Unified Communications Platform?**

We don't have a click to dial button in our Terminal Server MS-Outlook.

I would highly recommend SwitchVox. It works, easy to configure, manage, provides improvements through updates on a regular basis. Technical support is very knowledgeable and solves issues in a very short time. Forum is packed with information.  We purchased this product and never looked back.

SwitchVox handles all our incoming and outgoing calls for the main office and one branch.

I like the flexibility to create menus to do all kinds of things like turn a IVR on and off & forward phones at the end of the day.

**What do you dislike about Sangoma Unified Communications Platform?**

- The android app needs some work.
- Time frames should have the option to be 24 hour time
- I'd like a way to simulate a different time and date for a phone so I can test time based rules.

Our staff is not very technical and we have made several menus with passwords to help them make changes themselves.

Inability to record the origin or an assisted transfers, inability to separate queue login times when individuals are logged into multiple queues,inability to disconnect from a conference call without loosing both lines,inability to use multiple filters when searching recordings. email verification for faxes problematic, Reboot of system required for hold music volume adjustment, inability to set hold music volume at different levels for different queues, inability to export call log action details to spread sheet. Appointment features nonexistent.

Super easy to administrate. Once you've seen the lay of the land, everything comes together and makes sense. Finding your way around is cake. Creating an extension, re-assigning, or re-routing inbound or outbound calls at a granular level is cake.

**What do you dislike about Sangoma Unified Communications Platform?**

My primary dislike is the lack of diversity of reporting available. In my current version (6.3.6), there's no way to export data from several areas, which leaves HTML copy & paste as the only alternative. Granted, we are a few minor versions behind.

**Recommendations to others considering Sangoma Unified Communications Platform:**

This is the easiest and most appealing PBX I have ever had to manage.

Being able to manage everything in-house without expensive, certified administrators or maintenance agreements is a huge plus. And regarding maintenance agreements, Digium is extremely affordable!

It is a solid phone system and has never left us down without phone service. Programming, recording, backing up, and restoration are all very simple and most can be automated.

**What do you dislike about Sangoma Unified Communications Platform?**

Some of the GUI is not very intuitive. But once you learn where everything is, it's not a big deal.

**Recommendations to others considering Sangoma Unified Communications Platform:**

We maintain a cold spare in the event of a failure. I would recommend it, but we have not had to ever fall back on the cold spare.

The system is superior to digital systems that require extensions to be hard wired to a particular jack. Being an IP system, it allows for a very nimble response time to adding new users or moving existing users to other workspace.

All inclusive product, great phones and support and all the features you would expect to have plus some. Easy to administer. 

**What do you dislike about Sangoma Unified Communications Platform?**

I would like to see a modified IVR system, as I never minded working backwards to create IVR flow, large IVR structures get a bit confusing. Good planning on paper helps. My biggest item with the process is having large scale IVR's that I need to copy. I would like the ability to copy a IVR, this would allow me to make a developer copy of it and try it while changing things then always have a the ability to go back to the original if needed, or make a copy then change all the steps to new ones but keeping the same structure. Ive spent countless hours re-creating the same IVR's just to change a few things in the steps.

Ready to go all inclusive system including mobility. Easy install, easy maintainability for users and administrator.

Call control, Installed at a high volume medical claims processor, complex IVR's help distribute the calls on schedules and queue control by the caller.

We moved from a hosted Asterisk system to Switchvox when the hosted system just would not perform the way we expected it to. The Switchvox product met all of our needs and we really like having completely control over the system and how we use it. The management is simple and the hardware has been pretty good so far.

**What do you dislike about Sangoma Unified Communications Platform?**

Contacting Switchvox technical support can be troublesome and if you are not on the right plan they won't talk to you on the phone. The other big complaint I have is that the system license can only be registered a set number of times before you have to contact support. This has created problems for us during upgrade/restore procedures when it was difficult to get Switchvox on the phone to increase the license registrations.

This system is best if you administer it  yourself or have someone knowledgeable to administer. 

**What problems is Sangoma Unified Communications Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Switchvox to run our entire phone network. It rings all of our phones for every incoming call which was a problem for the hosted systems to accomplish consistently. We also really appreciated the ability to receive faxes directly to a user's inbox as well as delivery voicemails via email the same way.

I like how easy it is to configure and use the system.  Our old system didn't allow users to change their own settings and forwarding options.  Giving them that ability was really nice.

Some macro level admin functions for security aren't there.  Ability to see logging of web users.  Also, no ability to see how many conference lines are left open.

Switchvox was a defniite upgrade of our system.  We've realized flexibility and ease of use.

**What do you like best about Sangoma Unified Communications Platform?**

The Switchvox system is so robust we have all basic features and without any additional licenses all the enhance features available in Switchvox.  We are not into call center business so as a manufacture company this is the best phone system fits for our organization. Very cost effective, seemsless we can also intregate to our legacy Phones system.  The best part we like is GUI interfaces for both admin and the end users. There can be lot of things possible with this appliance, its a UC solution but scope is limitless. For example we use Mobile app on cell phone for users, they just love it.

**What do you dislike about Sangoma Unified Communications Platform?**

Little unstable at sometime, like it freeze. But that is very rare occasion, since its an application run on our Virtual machine we feel it may be due to several factories.
Considering the cost which is a fraction of other big manufaturer phone system its does it job very well. Depends on the nature of business we have choose wisely, if its a large call center may not be a good option.

Its the best I have ever expericence and most important the cost.

The platform is intuitive and user-friendly. The hardware and software does exactly what we need it to and many things can be customized.

**What do you dislike about Sangoma Unified Communications Platform?**

While I'm sure the size is pretty standard, I would like it if the desk phones took up less space.

**Recommendations to others considering Sangoma Unified Communications Platform:**

This product does more for our business than the other systems are capable of doing. Our office building had an expo in which several other phone providers appeared with their products. With an open mind, I asked questions about their services and more often than not, the responses were, "We don't have that yet but it's in the works." Digium/Switchvox has it and it works great!

The Switchvox software allows me to manage the phones of all team members. I can reset passwords, add contacts, run productivity reports, and keep employees accountable by logging sign-in/out times. We can also easily see when team members are on calls so we don't interrupt them until they're done.

Switchvox makes it easy to add new employee extensions, manage and change the IVR, view reports and watch an overview of every call we are handling.  Its user interface is very friendly and easily maneuvered.  Overall the system offers a lot of customization and features that have helped our business.  

**What do you dislike about Sangoma Unified Communications Platform?**

One downside that I have noticed with the system is the number of measure I can have for a given report.  It would be nice to be able to include more information on a single report instead of having to pull three reports to get everything I want.

Try the demo and see for yourself why this system is ranked one of the best.

With the Switchvox system we were able to easily track call routing and make changes to our company and phone system to help improve patient flow and get them to the right people more quickly and efficiently.  We were able to cut wait times in half for patients calling in.

The upside to using the system is the ease of use.
Can easily setup IVR/call routing etc. Easy to use phones,

Tech support, they do not seem to know their product. initial troubleshooting is so inaccurate and rarely helpful. Most issues require us in IT to determine root cause and request a fix or hardware from switchvox. 
i.e. "your issue is a broken pipe" -

The support has not provided very good information. One of our issues was blamed on our switchvox product being at capacity. after purchasing an entire new system, we had the same issue. 
We found the issue on our end, but this was a large sum of money and now and extra phone system we have laying around.

we use this as our main phone system. 
The benefits are the ability to easily add phones and manage the console.

Honestly, I love the the interface is so easy to use and the screens are easy to read. 

**What do you dislike about Sangoma Unified Communications Platform?**

I dislike that some phones have icons on the buttons as opposed to words. This has made it more difficult for some of our older staff members to use.

Switchvox allows us to ensure that the needs of our local population are met through ease of getting in touch with our staff members.

There are so many areas that have improved our experience. Administration and settings changes have never been easier, the ease of calls (forwarding, voicemails, hold, etc.) is far superior than our previous system. It is a simple system to train new employees on, which has been essential as our company continues to grow.

The system itself has no downside that I've seen in the year or so we have been working with it. The hardest part was in the beginning when we were switching systems. Overall a great experience.

Being able to efficiently see who is available for a call without contacting them prior to forwarding a call.

I like the ability to make changes.. Add/Remove phone numbers.. Add/Remove Phone Extensions. I also have tied our custom CRM into Switchvox to track all calls to and from our clients.

**What do you dislike about Sangoma Unified Communications Platform?**

When you add and new extension .. you have to manually add that extension to each user's directory manually. Because each user has their own version of the directory. Would be nice if you could have a way to just put new extension into each user's last listing or their directory.

**Recommendations to others considering Sangoma Unified Communications Platform:**

Do it. The support is excellent.  We had an outside provider install Switchvox.. and the system is so easy to use and maintain we have never needed to have the original provider return. I just use Switchvox's support.

CRM integration, High cost of local phone company, Flexibility, add remove without needing to call a provider to make changes.

Switchvox is a solid enterprise phone system at a reasonable price point.  I think it's biggest benefit is the simplicity of use.  When I started using Switchvox 5 years ago, I was still green in the telephony area.  I was able to pickup and understand the platform with minimal effort and ease.

I would say the biggest thing to dislike would be the additional feature set.  For us, we only need basic phone  and voicemail functionality.  If you ran a call center environment, I don;t know how well Switchvox would stack up against the competition.

The system just runs and requires very little maintenance.  Easy setup with only a few small issues to get around.  Technical support is responsive and knowledgeable...there hasn't been any issues that haven't been solved.

It was simple enough to deploy relatively quickly with little experience. I went through an extensive learning curve establishing our VoIP network. As a small non-profit school, we found all vendors were aggressivly pushing us towards extremely expensive systems that were meant for call centers and not schools. This was the right fit for us and I saved the school at least 50-60K.

The licensing system was very confusing. The registration numbers and license numbers were a real hassle.

The setup/configuration of Switchvox is extremely straightforward, and maintenance/upkeep requires minimal effort. Ever since upgrading to the newer Switchvox appliances, up-time is nearly 100%.

We have found that most updates we have implemented have either introduced minor bugs or removed/disabled features that were not previously mentioned in release notes. For the most part, the bugs are cleared up in following patches but we have lost some functionality (though minor and not critical for core functionalities) throughout these updates.

The ease of use is amazing, everything is where you would expect it to be.  I had minimal knowledge of SIP, PBX, Trunks, etc before implementing this product but I have been blow away by how simple everything has been with the guidance of Digium and the sales team.

Very little to dislike, potentially the support model could be a bit better.  Would be nice to have techs call you back regarding tickets that have been submitted instead of just email support.

The navigation and UI are easy to understand, even entry-level IT personnel can manage to grasp the structure quickly and effectively.  For the advanced administrator, there are features and tools that give hosting your own PBX the competitive advantage when compared to other systems.

In my experience it does not interface well with older Polycom systems, it is, however, configurable to those systems with time and understanding.

I just do not like the touch screen phone. It is not the easiest or quickest to use and sometimes I push the wrong button... I am old school and my preference is to have physical buttons.

I work remotely. It's super helpful that my HQ can forward calls straight to me as though I'm right there in the office.

The app is tweaky sometimes. You have to be connected to wi-fi to use it, and even then I've missed a couple calls. I've also answered a few calls only to have it be a dead connection, so I have to hang up and call the person back. I've also gotten voicemails with my phone open and in my hand even though it never rang.

I love the ability to log into the Digum Switchvox website as Admin and  manage extensions, add phones using the Feature Packs, check phone logs and more. Everything is right at the click of a button. Very fleixible.


**What do you dislike about Sangoma Unified Communications Platform?**

I do not like the flashing voice message indicator that continues after a phone has been reset. It does eventually go away, however some of my end users would attempt to retrieve messages that does not exist.

**What problems is Sangoma Unified Communications Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With the ability to give direct numbers to my lead customer service reps, we have all calls monitored via the switchboard and emergenccy calls only to call direct. We are also able to block calls thatwe have identified as Spam Callers. This has streamlined employees from receiving the 'unwanted' calls.
