## About Swarmia
Swarmia is the software engineering intelligence platform that gives product and engineering leaders one place to see how their teams work, how they feel, and where the investment goes — and the tools to act on what they find. The platform is trusted by industry-leading companies of all sizes, including Lovable, Honeycomb, Engine, Bolt, and Miro. You’d never run production without monitoring. But for years, plenty of organizations ran engineering on gut feel and a few good-enough dashboards. That worked when you could keep the whole picture in your head. When AI tools are writing code faster than anyone can track by intuition, it doesn’t anymore. Swarmia brings four things together on one org structure and one data model: engineering metrics, AI adoption and impact, developer experience surveys, and software capitalization. One source of truth instead of a productivity tool, a survey tool, and a capitalization spreadsheet that never talk to each other. Most teams have rolled out Copilot, Cursor, Codex, and Claude Code, but far fewer can say what they’re getting for it. Swarmia brings every AI tool into one view — who has access, who’s using it and how, and what it costs — so you can spot unused licenses, find the teams getting real value, and connect AI spend to the work it supported. Adoption is only half the story, though. Swarmia also measures how effectively your teams turn ideas into working software with research-backed metrics, including DORA. Working agreements, automated signals, and Slack and Teams notifications turn metrics into real behavior change — not dashboards nobody checks. From there, Swarmia keeps a clear line from effort to value. You can see where engineering time is actually going, and whether your biggest projects are on track early enough to do something about it. It also makes software capitalization a few clicks instead of a quarterly fire drill, with audit-ready reports in minutes and an FTE model defensible enough for Big Four auditors. And because numbers don't tell you what it's like to work in your organization, developer experience surveys ask the questions only engineers can answer, then hand back a heatmap by team and a prioritized action plan. We believe engineering improvement happens when you fix the system people work in, not when you measure individuals harder. Most tools in this space are built top-down, for leadership reporting. Swarmia’s roots are in helping teams get better, so it's built for the people doing the work as much as the people reporting on it. Because it's transparent by design — most of the data is visible to everyone, from ICs to the CTO — engineers see it as a tool to improve their own work, not a way to be watched. The result is cross-domain insights no single-purpose tool can offer, on one platform with one setup. Your gut feeling had a good run. Swarmia is engineering intelligence you can trust.

## Swarmia Reviews
 ### 1. Helpful for real-time notifications

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 29, 2024

**What do you like best about Swarmia?**

I use swarmia primarily to be notified when an action is required in a PR on github. I like that I can refine what notifications I receive based on my preferences. I no longer have to rely on my email inbox to be notified when I am mentioned or tagged for a review on a PR.

In a team setting, we for a time were using it to get a daily rollup of open PRs. We personally didn't find this as helpful and more of a white noise cluttering up our channel. We recently implemented code ownership over some files specific to our team. It was easy to update the settings to send review requests to a specific channel we created purely for these notifications to avoid cluttering up our core channel.

The Slack integration is incredibly easy to setup and maintain.

**What do you dislike about Swarmia?**

Sometimes the volume of notifications can be overwhelming. When our CI fails on a PR I get at least three separate notifications. But these are necessary annoyances as I know when to take action on a PR.

**What problems is Swarmia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I get notifications from GitHub PRs in real-time. I like that I can read the comments that have come through on a PR review in my digest channel and I can click a link to either go directly to that comment or to reply back straight from Slack.

 ### 2. Great visibility on the teams

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jaakko L. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 29, 2023

**What do you like best about Swarmia?**

Swarmia helps bring visibility to where the teams efforts are channelled over time. For our team, we can jointly see where we're doing well and what is slowing us down. Insights help us monitor over time how we're improving on key metrics important to the team. In multiteam, multirepo environment it's essential have team level visibility on the performance of a single team.

**What do you dislike about Swarmia?**

I would love to have a personalizable dashboard of key metrics I want to follow. That would enable quick glancing every day to see how we are doing.

**What problems is Swarmia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Swarmia helps me to see how our team is doing in terms of planning and delivery performance. For example are we always increasing scope of our epics, are we working on too many things at a time, or are the average PR size and review cadency reasonable.

 ### 3. Revolutionizing Visibility: Using the Power of Swarmia for Enhanced Operational Clarity"

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 10, 2024

**What do you like best about Swarmia?**

Enhanced Operational Visibility through Data Analytics and Reporting: Swarmia's extensive toolkit offers essential features that provide deep, data backed insights into various facets of both engineering and organisational operations, allowing the business to have a clear and comprehensive view of our processes that is easy to access and visible to all, as well as highlighting shortcomings and helping us pinpoint necessary areas for improvement over varying time periods

**What do you dislike about Swarmia?**

Although having github front and center as a means of simplifying the signup, improving integration and onboarding process, a bit more could be done in giving visibility to new users that an account can be created without necessarily having to use github auth

**What problems is Swarmia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- It is super easy to setup and integrate. Took just a few steps to connect our source control, our issue tracker and our communication platform all in one go.
- Had feedback on source code data almost immediately
- Did not conflict with our existing agile methodology
- One size fits all DORA metrics directly accessible via an intuitive dashboard

**Official Response from Pinja Dodik:**

> Thanks so much for your review — happy to hear you're enjoying using Swarmia! Our product team is currently working on non-GitHub login, so stay tuned 😊

 ### 4. Good tool to provide strategic info about your development team

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Felipe B. | Chief Technology Officer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 08, 2024

**What do you like best about Swarmia?**

It's very simple to understand and be configured, provides helpful productivity info about the team and great insights to help improve their engineering metrics. Works smoothly with other tools such as Jira and Linear. It was very simple to implement because they have a native integration with GitHub as well.

**What do you dislike about Swarmia?**

For multiples teams it need to be improved, so, I would say that it's more focused on early stage startups.
The price is salt for them, so, it would be great to have a better pricing range as well.

**What problems is Swarmia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps me to get better understand about my team's productivity. It's very simple to "translate" this numbers for my others partners that isn't tech guys.

 ### 5. I didn't realise I wanted this until I had it

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** James W. | Head of Engineering, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 04, 2024

**What do you like best about Swarmia?**

I was initially looking for a solution that would better sync Slack and GitHub, and on that first point Swarmia is excellent. My aim was to keep PR review pace up, and I felt like being able to manage large parts of the code review process in Slack would help, and it really has. We've tried a few PR->Slack integrations and Swarmia is definitely the slickest.

Then onto the features I didn't know I needed - the PR Insights, the Linear integration, the new CI Insights (my favourite thing at the moment). What's been really helpful is having the visual representation of how we're progressing on our original goal of keeping PR review pace up.

The more time I spend on the platform the more I find helpful features. Definitely recommend.

**What do you dislike about Swarmia?**

It's no necessarily a dislike, but a customizable landing page would be great addition. If I could pick the metrics I care about to see all at once it'd be an excellent resource. At the moment the landing page seems geard largely towards onboarding and navigation, which I feel could be achieved elsewhere in favour of having an overview type page.

**What problems is Swarmia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keeping PR review velocity up, analysing CI usage, tracking project velocity.

 ### 6. Everyday user

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 19, 2023

**What do you like best about Swarmia?**

It helps us organize our work really well. We use Swarmia in our everyday work and it has become an important part of our workflow. Especially the notices with Slack are really good and beneficially for our team.

Recently we have set working agreements and insights and we follow those metrics daily. We have set notifications every morning. about the situation in our own team and some common issues around all the development teams as well.

**What do you dislike about Swarmia?**

I can't find any dislikes at this point.

**What problems is Swarmia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We do follow our goals and team metrics with Swarmia. It has been a really good tool for getting our workflow better and finding the rabbitholes that we have sometimes been. The statistics show that we have been better on organizing our teamwork and focusing on the most importanat things.

 ### 7. Swarmia is the missing puzzle piece between Jira and Github

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Erik G. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 29, 2024

**What do you like best about Swarmia?**

Jira's reporting UI feels like you need a bachelors degree alone to use it. Swarmia immediately gives us a useable overview of how the team is performing.

No unnecessary graph, and just what you need.

Also includes an integration on GitHub that links PRs to tickets.

**What do you dislike about Swarmia?**

None, really. I'm hoping for better support of co-authored commits in the work log, so we can see who worked together.

**What problems is Swarmia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Insights into how the team is doing and daily nudges for pull request reviews.

 ### 8. Complete visibility and matrics about our development process

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gonzalo R. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 22, 2023

**What do you like best about Swarmia?**

Slack notifications for github are way better than the native ones from github. You only get what you need.
Metrics and insights you get from the product are really helpful and give a complete overview of how the engineering team is working.
Agreements are a nice way to improve processes in a collaborative way.

**What do you dislike about Swarmia?**

It would be great to have some additional options to map between Jira tickets metadata and types of tasks in swarmia.

**What problems is Swarmia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sometimes you do not have clear view of how well the engineering team is collaborating, the amount of work put in different type of issues and projects, etc. Swarmia gives a lot of visibility and clarity about these topics.

 ### 9. Easiest way to track team metrics and stay accountable

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 06, 2024

**What do you like best about Swarmia?**

Adding agreements is easy to do! The built in insights and CI metrics are really helpful

**What do you dislike about Swarmia?**

I'd like more automation around the failed builds

**What problems is Swarmia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tracking eng team processes so that they can be improved as a team

 ### 10. Great experience! Really helpful

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Adam M. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 09, 2024

**What do you like best about Swarmia?**

Getting quick Slack notifications for review requests, and being able to interact directly from Slack is awesome! Our team is able to collaborate much quick. Swarmia was very quick and easy to integrate with.

**What do you dislike about Swarmia?**

I haven't had any downsides. I'd like to use Insights more to help my team. I'm not sure what would make that easier to use when we're all very busy.

**What problems is Swarmia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keeping everyone up to date and providing great integration with Slack for reminders and updates.

 ### 11. Very comprehensive analysis of development metrics

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shawn H. | CTO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 23, 2024

**What do you like best about Swarmia?**

- Easy to set up
- Easy to use / understand
- Supports external products we integrate with (Linear, Slack, Github)
- Great reporting / high-level insights make it easy to drill down into potential issues

**What do you dislike about Swarmia?**

- I haven't been able to find any shortcomings yet (though still early in evaluation)

**What problems is Swarmia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Bubbling up metrics on the development team that aren't normally or easily available (beyond standard Agile metrics pumped out of a task management system like Jira)

 ### 12. Simply the best tool in class

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dmitri Z. | Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 10, 2024

**What do you like best about Swarmia?**

Great analytics for dev teams of 10-20! It is easy to get all the information in a couple of clicks. Also, integrations are very helpful in providing more insights to the team.

**What do you dislike about Swarmia?**

Can't complain. Maybe pricing options could be more flexible.

**What problems is Swarmia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Dev team performance analytics.

 ### 13. Incredibly important tool to support managing remote engineering teams

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 09, 2024

**What do you like best about Swarmia?**

The visibility into productivity and effieincy of teams is very useful and our teams appreciate the transparency it offers into their performance. It's super simple to setup and configure and we got value day one. Was very easy to integrate with our tech stack. We use it daily to keep us on our toes!

**What do you dislike about Swarmia?**

Jump from free to paid is a significant jump in cost

**What problems is Swarmia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Monitoring efficiency and productivity of engineering teams
Monitoring DORA metrics

 ### 14. Great development insights for GitHub/Jira

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tolga E. | Director of Engineering, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 06, 2024

**What do you like best about Swarmia?**

Swarmia was very easy to integrate into our repository, Jira, and Slack workflows. We get great insights in a presentable, and easy to understand way. Their customer support is also great answering any integration and functionality questions we had.

**What do you dislike about Swarmia?**

So far it works well and gets the team the information they need.

**What problems is Swarmia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Understand where the development team is spending their actual time vs the idealized time in other project management tools. It also helps us to measure against DORA metrics.

 ### 15. Quick Setup and Quality Engineering Insights

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jesse Z. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 19, 2023

**What do you like best about Swarmia?**

Swarmia setup is simple. The integrations with GitHub and Jira are seamless.

Working agreements and Slack integration add value to the engineers and managers to ensure everyone knows the work in progress and strives to keep a reasonable cycle time. We agree on how long a PR should be reviewed, limit # of tickets in progress, how long it should take to merge a PR, etc.

The Insights dashboards are helpful for the manager. The Cycle Time and Deployment Frequency insights are a good combination that helps the team's overall efficiency and helps the manager track KPIs.

**What do you dislike about Swarmia?**

Some of the metrics compared to a 'previous period' are unclear.

How they manage user licenses is not flexible. Management of users/seats is by contributor to repository, so it is too tightly integrated with GitHub and a problem for monorepos where you only want to use the tool for a limited department or team.

Unwillingess to negotate prices and abruptly turning off the service.

**What problems is Swarmia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is helping with our cycle time and deployment frequency.

We have drastically improved our deployment frequency since we have visibility, alerting, and awareness around our work. The deployments and cycle time dashboard along with the slack integration helps keep the work moving forward to production.

**Official Response from Pinja Dodik:**

> Thanks so much for your review, Jesse! We're happy that you've found some of the features in Swarmia value-adding and helpful.

Sorry to hear you found the terms of our free plan and trial inflexible. To clarify, our free plan is intended for startups with under 15 developers, and unfortunately we can't give it away for free for larger businesses for longer than the agreed trial period.

It looks like our Customers team has attempted to send you an email about possible options moving forward, so please let us know at hello@swarmia.com if you'd like us to resend the email.

 ### 16. Great product!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kamil K. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 23, 2023

**What do you like best about Swarmia?**

Notifications! This is a killer-feature for me! Now I can faster respond to reviews, pull requests opened etc.

**What do you dislike about Swarmia?**

Digest font is too small. I would like to have customization for that.
Also I would like to see minimal recommended metrics under Cycle time.. For example, what is recommended Cycle time? Or pull requests in progress? I would like to see metrics we need to strive for

**What problems is Swarmia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I started use Swarmia because of Notifications feature. Previously I needed to monitor JIRA for Reviews columns from other team members. Now I can easily react to Swarmia notifications asap or snooze them to check later.. No need to remind engineers to mention me directly to review the ticket.

Also I use Investment balance to check our commitment in terms of bugs or technical depts

 ### 17. Swarmia easily tracks our engineering metrics.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Pablo A. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 27, 2023

**What do you like best about Swarmia?**

The pull request dashboard. It helps our team to deliver value faster. In our team we discovered with Swarmia that we had a high review time so we focused on reducing this to deliver faster.

**What do you dislike about Swarmia?**

The few integrations that Swarmia has. We must use Jira or Linear to track bugs but we have another system, so now we use Jira as a proxy.

**What problems is Swarmia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Swarmia gives us the visibility for DORA metrics and these metrics we always keep an eye before our technical meetings. This way we can spot earlier if something has to be changed in our team.

 ### 18. The easiest way to get more insight into my engineering team's performance

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 11, 2024

**What do you like best about Swarmia?**

Swarmia was super quick and simple to set up and get started with!

**What do you dislike about Swarmia?**

Some of the metrics are hard to verify and explain, but the platform does a good job of trying to ease you into more advanced metric tracking.

**What problems is Swarmia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Giving me insight that allows me to benchmark our team's performance.

 ### 19. Great tool to keep KPI's tracked

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 23, 2024

**What do you like best about Swarmia?**

Easy-to-understand tool and precise in management.

**What do you dislike about Swarmia?**

Seems change failure rate is not working.

**What problems is Swarmia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Reducing the time to analyzse and get a comprehensive charts to identify areas of strenght and opportunities.

 ### 20. User Friendly complete sumarized development accountability

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 01, 2024

**What do you like best about Swarmia?**

Swarmia reduces me hours of research to get complete reports, such us batches, deployments, I use it in a monthly basis. The integration is easy to do, the implementation is quick you'll get the information right away and their customer support team helps a lot. An ease to use this tool.

**What do you dislike about Swarmia?**

I think Swarmia should improve in the fail deployments percentage, since it is not that accurate. Always is in 0

**What problems is Swarmia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Graphs, time for reports, easy to use to the product. Accuracy on the development.

 ### 21. Invaluable PR Insights, but Room for Improvement in Granularity

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 20, 2023

**What do you like best about Swarmia?**

One of the standout features of Swarmia is its ability to delve into PR metrics and offer a detailed analysis of the factors contributing to delays in completion. This has been immensely helpful for our chapter, allowing us to pinpoint areas for improvement and streamline our workflow. The platform's insights have been instrumental in tackling the specific issues we faced with oversized PRs, enabling us to make informed decisions for enhanced efficiency.

Furthermore, Swarmia's comparative analysis across the entire organization has been a game-changer for our team. The ability to benchmark our performance against the broader context of the organization has given us a clear understanding of where we stand and what goals to strive for. This feature has empowered us to set realistic targets and continuously optimize our PR processes.

**What do you dislike about Swarmia?**

Enhancing Swarmia's functionality to include all insights at the repository level would be highly beneficial. Currently, while comprehensive insights are accessible at the team level, the repository-level information is limited, with only a few insights available.

**What problems is Swarmia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Swarmia helped us tackle our issues with PRs.

 ### 22. Swarmia is an excellent Engineering Metrics platform, easy to setup, customise and use!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Julien E. | Chief Technology Officer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 15, 2023

**What do you like best about Swarmia?**

We recently moved to Swarmia from another platform that I have been using since 2020 - we have been really impressed and very happy with the experience with Swarmia so far!

Here are some highlights:
- Ease of set up and customisation to our specific needs
- Excellent team hierarchy capability giving a high-level view and the possibility to narrow down into a specific team
- Very good Investment Balance customisation to deep dive into insights we need to improve our way of working
- Pleasantly surprised by the depth of project management insights (epics, stories, tasks and bugs) as well as CI Insights
- Superb Slack bot integration - Working agreements have been a game changer for the team!
- Good support documentation to better understand the logic behind each module

Engineering managers use it multiple times a week to take action daily during standup and review insights weekly with the team during retrospectives.

We look forward to seeing how Swarmia will grow over time!

**What do you dislike about Swarmia?**

As we can continuously improve, here are a few suggestions that would be good to see in a product such as Swarmia:
- Role-based access control to be able to control who can change configurations.
- Work breakdown to understand effort spent between New Work vs Refactor vs Rework.
- Time distribution across statuses of epics, stories, tasks and bugs to better understand where we spend most of our time from a project management perspective.
- Ability to create new issue types to map different bugs from a development project and a support board.
- (I haven't seen anything yet on the market about this) Shift left the insights to start capturing project management metrics during product discovery and exploration phases.
- Well-being insights

**What problems is Swarmia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Swarmia is helping our engineering teams to drive continuous improvement by measuring the right data and testing hypotheses one at a time so our decisions are based on data and not on feeling.

**Official Response from Pinja Dodik:**

> Hi Julien, thank you so much for your detailed review.

We've made a note about your excellent product feedback, but I just wanted to let you know that we released a new admin role in Swarmia last week, allowing you to control who gets to change the global settings in Swarmia. Hope that helps!

 ### 23. A great piece of our DORA puzzle

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chris L. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 26, 2024

**What do you like best about Swarmia?**

It's easy to use and gives a great picture of where the team is at.

**What do you dislike about Swarmia?**

It'd be great if it could do SPACE also?!

**What problems is Swarmia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm using it for DORA metrics.

 ### 24. Fantastic visualisations and insights - for free!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jess R. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 04, 2024

**What do you like best about Swarmia?**

Beautiful visualisations and actionable data - it's amazing that we get all this information for free! The UI is clean and easy to use. Very customisable notifications help avoid fatigue.

**What do you dislike about Swarmia?**

Unable to find anything to dislike at this point as I've only been using it for a month.

**What problems is Swarmia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Understanding where developer time is spent

 ### 25. Great tool for improving efficiency and getting insights

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Events Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 22, 2024

**What do you like best about Swarmia?**

Getting slack notifications from PRs! Messages are clear and it's easy to take immediate action. Also whenever I access swarmia itself, it's very easy to find the information I'm looking for.

**What do you dislike about Swarmia?**

I don't use it so often in my role for other than the slack integration and that works great. Only thing I miss is being able to select for example monthly view or selecting dates instead of having to go week by week.

**What problems is Swarmia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Bringing transparency and ease of spotting possible improvement points. Making us more efficient.

 ### 26. Everything I need in one place

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Commercial Real Estate | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 26, 2024

**What do you like best about Swarmia?**

It is very useful for us to make a recap of the work done, in which repositories more effort has been invested, what has been delivered and to be able to jump to the pull request or task.

**What do you dislike about Swarmia?**

We have had some difficulty in hiding repositories that were not relevant for day-to-day use.

**What problems is Swarmia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

See where the team has spent the effort if there are tasks that have been complicated at the pull request level. See over time the deliveries and the workload they have generated.

 ### 28. Easy to navigate, with useful info

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 23, 2024

**What do you like best about Swarmia?**

The UI is beautiful, and that's not always the case with tools like that

**What do you dislike about Swarmia?**

It's a bit slow to load most of the times

**What problems is Swarmia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can see all the PRs we have easily, and also some metrics about them.

 ### 29. Great product for small teams!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joe G. | VP of Engineering, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 15, 2024

**What do you like best about Swarmia?**

Swarmia has been an excellent conversation starter around the things that are slowing us down the most.

**What do you dislike about Swarmia?**

Nothing! It's been great. Appreciate the free tier support for our growing team!

**What problems is Swarmia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Measurement of cycle time, measurement of how often we work on bugs versus new features.

 ### 30. Great tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alejandro F. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 13, 2024

**What do you like best about Swarmia?**

The slack integration is the best. Is very easy to follow PR's workflows.

**What do you dislike about Swarmia?**

Everything works well. I don't use the webapp so much.

**What problems is Swarmia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Some times in my team we had many Open PR's and Swarmia help us to distinguish what is really important to close

 ### 31. Provides useful insights

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 04, 2024

**What do you like best about Swarmia?**

Great way to visualize the type of work each team member is contributing on a daily basis

**What do you dislike about Swarmia?**

You can't customize categories like KTLO yet.

**What problems is Swarmia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have a large team that are working across multiple projects. It helps us track what people are working on and can identify if issues are becoming stale or blocked.

**Official Response from Miikka Jokela:**

> Hi, and thank you for your review! Regarding your "dislike about Swarmia", you can in fact customize (and add/remove) investment categories rather extensively, however, editing investment categories is by default limited to admins of your organization, so you might wanna ask them to a) make the edits or alternatively b) make you an admin.

More info on configuring investment categories can be read here: https://help.swarmia.com/configuring-investment-categories#configure_ICs

 ### 32. Swarmia keeps the code flowing

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Clinton B. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 16, 2024

**What do you like best about Swarmia?**

Swarmia's Slack notifications have helped improved code review throughput, and decreased comment response time.

**What do you dislike about Swarmia?**

It's a paradigm shift for some team members, which can hamper adoption.

**What problems is Swarmia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Swarmia ensures team members are notified about pull requests and comments, and re-notifies folks who forget to perform reviews.

 ### 33. Order between all the Pull Request Chaos

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Hemand S. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 05, 2024

**What do you like best about Swarmia?**

Swarmia helps me to streamline PR reviews and thereby improving my productivity

**What do you dislike about Swarmia?**

Its a little disappointing that they still dont have dark mode.

**What problems is Swarmia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Streamlining PRs

 ### 34. Swarmia is a powerful, one-stop shop to get valuable information on developer productivity.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jason K. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 26, 2023

**What do you like best about Swarmia?**

It is very helpful to see trends in how long a developer takes to complete a task. The quantitative data surrounding pull requests allows leaders to effectively track areas for improvement and whether or not a developer is responding to advice on improving performance. Swearmia also has a very easy to use platform.

**What do you dislike about Swarmia?**

N/A - I've really enjoyed all of the features thus far.

**What problems is Swarmia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Compiling developer productivity metrics. This is helping to identify areas for improvement and tracking those metrics as we're trying to improve our developer processes'.

 ### 35. Swarmia makes Engineering metrics simple and straightforward

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 05, 2023

**What do you like best about Swarmia?**

- Excellent documentation and customer support
- Working agreements for each team
- Modular product, makes it easy to get value with a very simple integration to start (i.e. only Jira and GitHub) but then can be expanded into fuller use of the capabilities, like notifying Swarmia of deployments
- Customization of filters and rules

**What do you dislike about Swarmia?**

- User account management
- Sometimes difficult to understand the context of the data i.e. which repos/tickets are included in a chart or dashboard number
- Not much of a focus in the product on reports (although some downloadable CSVs have been added)

**What problems is Swarmia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Swarmia helps us to be transparent about our processes, and look for opportunities for improvement. For example, we include a review of some of our metrics in Swarmia in our sprint retro to spark discussion and monitor whether we're satisfied with the results and/or we need to enable or adjust working agreements.

 ### 36. Perfect slack experience

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 01, 2023

**What do you like best about Swarmia?**

I use Swarmia as a substitute for slack application. It allows me to concentrate on my GitHub PRs more. Mainly it is fully configured out of the box, secondly it is more precise compared to GitHub app in Slack. I love how much time and concentration it saves for me.

**What do you dislike about Swarmia?**

I do not have anything that I dislike about it. If I would put something that is still missing, I would say I haven't found some precise configuration how and what to show in Slack. Especially, main dev channel summary which I have configured for our company to be published before each standup. Some improvements in precision of goal PRs per week (it allows you to limit total, but not individual, when we have a person who produces a lot of open PRs). Although, it is possible that there are such features, but I haven't had enough time to check and find them...

**What problems is Swarmia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows me to concentrate more on my PRs instead of receiving a ton of messages though GitHub and trying to configure it in Slack. I regularly receive precise information on my PRs and PRs that I need to review and comments inside. I have a shorthand to reply them through Slack immediately without going to github PR.

 ### 37. Swarmia: Empowering Teams with Insightful Developer Metrics

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Omar S. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 15, 2023

**What do you like best about Swarmia?**

I recently had the opportunity to use Swarmia, and I must say that it has been a game-changer for our development team. This incredible tool has provided us with invaluable developer metrics from GitHub, helping us challenge ourselves and achieve even greater results. I wanted to take a moment to share my positive experience and express my appreciation for this outstanding platform.

Swarmia offers a comprehensive range of features that enable teams to monitor and analyze their development processes effectively.

One of the standout aspects of Swarmia is its user-friendly interface. The platform is designed with great attention to detail, making it easy to navigate and comprehend the metrics presented.

The metrics provided by Swarmia are not only informative but also highly insightful. They go beyond basic performance indicators, offering a holistic view of our team's dynamics, code quality, and efficiency.

Furthermore, Swarmia excels in challenging teams to deliver more. By setting realistic and achievable goals based on historical data and industry benchmarks, the platform fosters healthy competition within the team. It has motivated our developers to strive for excellence, pushing them to exceed their own expectations and contribute to the collective success of our projects.

In conclusion, I wholeheartedly recommend Swarmia to any development team seeking to enhance their productivity and drive continuous improvement.

**What do you dislike about Swarmia?**

Only integration with Jira and Linear as project management tools.

**What problems is Swarmia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Github bad notifications + needed insights for high performing teams.

 ### 38. Swarmia provides a smooth user experience, valuable insights, and the seamless integrations

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lisah M. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 21, 2023

**What do you like best about Swarmia?**

Swarmia is easy to use, has an intuitive UI, easy to integrate with Jira and Github, has nice metrics that we use to conduct or sprint reviews and assign sprint goals

**What do you dislike about Swarmia?**

One thing I dislike is we dont have the ability to add more jira issue type. The issue type is fixed to epic, story, tasks and bug. We have custom issues that we can't add in Swarmia

**What problems is Swarmia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We didn't have any insights on how or sprint was going, code and code review analytics. So by using Swarmia we conduct our sprint retrospectives, assign metrics goal that we want to tackle for the sprint and see overall how our engineering team is performing

 ### 39. Swarmia helps teams to work as a team

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mikko P. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 30, 2023

**What do you like best about Swarmia?**

We are used to work as individuals and in short-term it might be efficient to take and proceed with individual tasks.

Swarmia uses GitHub and Jira -data to give team insights about their performance BUT it also visualizes how team is working. It can highlight, that team is not actually work as a team, but as a group of individuals. It guides teams to better collaboration and Working agreements.

**What do you dislike about Swarmia?**

We don't handle very well the situations where person is switching from one team to another.

Some of our teams have dependencies with weekly-release-cycl. All the GitHub Pull-request are not that useful for them (atleast with their github-flow). Also it would be beneficial for those teams to have a option to choose what Jira-statuses you want to include for your lifecycle-metric.

When I check timelines with custom calendar dates, Swarmia doesn't remember the dates I last time choosed. It always starts from current date. It is annoying if you want to compare timeperiods further in the past.

**What problems is Swarmia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- It gives our teams understanding about their performance and changes.
- It helps our teams to work as a team

 ### 40. Great Experience!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brandon E. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 12, 2023

**What do you like best about Swarmia?**

Swarmia does a fantastic job with integrating and automating its connected services. The metrics are pulled together very cleanly and the Slack updates for our team that are provided daily are fantastic. We reference Swarmia daily through our automated notifications

**What do you dislike about Swarmia?**

I believe there is some discontinuity between the users in Swarmia and the users in the Github ecosystem. If that is sorted out I wouldn't have a complaint.

**What problems is Swarmia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can gain quick oversights of my development teams and their cadences within minutes.

 ### 41. Swarmia is a superhero for software teams!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 24, 2023

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 03, 2024

**What do you like best about Swarmia?**

Developer aggregated activity from Jira, Git, tools

**What do you dislike about Swarmia?**

Aggregated view over development activity

 ### 43. Great insight into DORA metrics

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Marc F. | Lead Software Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 08, 2024

**What do you like best about Swarmia?**

View cycle time of all PRs on a team, easily spot outliers, which makes great fodder for a Retro conversation.

**What do you dislike about Swarmia?**

Deployments can't be tracked through CircleCI, nor Github releases.

**What problems is Swarmia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

View cycle time, work in progress, etc. and see how the team is trending over time.

 ### 44. Best tools for startup engineering team out there.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Paul A. | Lead Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 06, 2023

- Outsading and easy to use dashboard
- Github app works seamlesly and does not need any setup
- You can start to see usful insights right away
- Slack integration is thoughtfly designed and does not bring noise
- Working agreements feature can instantly start your team on a track of imporvements

**What do you dislike about Swarmia?**

- Lack of integration with Project Management tools outside of Linear and Jira
- Needs more working agreements
- Incorporate PR size into more metrics

**What problems is Swarmia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Measure the output of the team and improve hard to measure metrics.

 ### 45. Great product

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 07, 2024

**What do you like best about Swarmia?**

Great insights at a glance. Intuitive interface packed with actionable insights.

**What do you dislike about Swarmia?**

Would love to see more recommendations and best practices, actively pushing teams to improve, beyond what agreements do.

**What problems is Swarmia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Getting actionable insights on software delivery performance with little dev work & great presentation.

 ### 46. Great insight into whats going with the product and development

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Automotive | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 19, 2024

**What do you like best about Swarmia?**

- Merge of Jira and Github data
- Tracking of activity per projects and groups of tickets (bug category etc)
- Statistics per team, project and member

**What do you dislike about Swarmia?**

- Only login with Github, a bit complicated for PMs and other management people
- Investment categories get shuffled from time to time
- Missing time tracking data

**What problems is Swarmia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Overiew over the status of developemt of the dev team

 ### 47. Head of Engineering

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** DC N. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 30, 2023

**What do you like best about Swarmia?**

It's a quick way to see the pulse of the organization. Quickly allows one to know which developers are really grinding and which are struggling to push code.

**What do you dislike about Swarmia?**

I wish the org setup was easier and more intuitive. But once it's set up it is easy to use.

**What problems is Swarmia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Swarmia does a great job of visualizing the software development process to key stakeholders with no technical backgrounds.

 ### 48. Flexible and easy tool learn about our development processes

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Samuli K. | Partner, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 02, 2023

**What do you like best about Swarmia?**

Very flexible configuration. Nice and easy to use GUI. Way better notifications to Slack than original Github ones. Helpful insights through Slackbot and from the tool itself.

**What do you dislike about Swarmia?**

Not Swarmia's "fault" but it easily falls into category of "yet another tool" and people might have difficulties how to embed/adapt the tool to their current WoW.

**What problems is Swarmia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Swarmia gives us nice bird's eye view for our development process, especially the insights page (with DORA metrics). It helps us to identify bottlenecks and waste.

 ### 49. Overall great, love the focus on team. On occasion, run into small bugs or minor UX friction

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael H. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 02, 2023

**What do you like best about Swarmia?**

I like how Swarmia is focused on team metrics instead of individuals. It makes it easy to give equal access to everyone so we can openly talk about insights and reflect on how we're doing without worrying about putting individuals "in competition" with each other. I also love the Slack integration and appreciate it's not too noisy.

**What do you dislike about Swarmia?**

Sometimes I come across bugs or minor unexpected behaviours (for example, the working agreement "time to first review" is actually, from what I understand, "time to first approval"). Nonetheless, I notice things get fixed and steady improvements roll out, so I appreciate the continuous ongoing efforts to improve and add more features.

**What problems is Swarmia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

To give us insight into team performance and a way to get feedback on team/process changes. It also helps keep us accountable to working agreements within our team.

 ### 50. We use Swarmia for internal checks on development progress

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael C. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 08, 2023

**What do you like best about Swarmia?**

Swarmia helps me stay on top of what all our developers are working on at any given time and helps me identify gaps in our deployment processes. Being able to see all our Github repo checkin's across projects and teams in a visual way is helpful for our leadership, and team members, to keep track of things at a glance.

**What do you dislike about Swarmia?**

I'm sure there is something to dislike, but at this moment its serving our needs as a visualization of our development process. I think they could probably use some more tooltips about how to implement certain features of their system, as it can be a little overwhelming when you first log into the system and get all your accounts tied into it.

**What problems is Swarmia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I need to have a high level overview of pull requests and at what velocity we are getting these reviewed and merged in
