Over the years they got better at adding prompted things to help you set up your questions and surveys. That was nice. I liked being able to add my own links and logos. **What do you dislike about SurveyMonkey?** I didn't like how expensive survey monkey has become. Over the last two years, the pricing structure has increased so much we finally just cancelled our service. Very disappointing. Sometimes it wasn't very user friendly and was very frustrating to set a survey up. **Recommendations to others considering SurveyMonkey:** Consider the cost! It's so expensive!! Also ease of use **What problems is SurveyMonkey solving and how is that benefiting you?** We were able to send evaluation surveys for our events, it saved us a lot of paper, especially for our larger events. They also send me email reminders and requests way to often. **Recommendations to others considering SurveyMonkey:** I would use google forms instead. It's fine for what it is. If you just want to ask really simple questions, it'll let you do that. **What do you dislike about SurveyMonkey?** There's not a lot of functionality available to free users unfortunately. There are only a few kinds of questions you can ask, and you can't even put your logo on the front page of the survey. **What problems is SurveyMonkey solving and how is that benefiting you?** We used it to get staff input on our holiday giving program. I decided to try Survey Money for free. The truth is that it disappointed me a bit. It's true that it allows you to use most of the options that a premium client can have, such as choosing multiple responses, selecting the type of target audience, classifying by ages or population groups. **What do you dislike about SurveyMonkey?** However, when it comes to obtaining the results, if you want to get statistics, and be able to segregate or obtain a specific profile, you must pay for each of the options, so in practice, not even the minimum free service offered compensates for the effort dedicated to preparing the survey. **Recommendations to others considering SurveyMonkey:** I think SurveyMonkey should review the options it offers for free, so that customers can properly evaluate the service and access payment methods. **What problems is SurveyMonkey solving and how is that benefiting you?** I tried to use a free survey service to conduct a software prototype evaluation, however, when it came to obtaining the results, I couldn't segregate the results correctly, and in practice, it wasn't very useful. ### 16. Not a lot of options for type of survey so have to use what you're given and hope for the best. It's visually appealing and generally easy to follow. If needing a quick survey tool, this is adequate. I would recommend it more for polling a small group rather than for any serious research study. For the former purpose it's great. You have your choice of polling and survey style and display, which is great. You don't need many research skills to use it. **What do you dislike about SurveyMonkey?** It is not secure enough to store sensitive data, which in human subjects research is most any identifying information. I do not recommend it for any kind of human-subjects research requiring IRB approval. **Recommendations to others considering SurveyMonkey:** I would make sure that Survey Monkey can ensure the kind of encryption and security that your data collection requires. **What problems is SurveyMonkey solving and how is that benefiting you?** My team does hundreds of participant surveys each year. The program lets us store and organize all those survey results easily. However we have switched over to a tool that is much more secure. There was no real pain point for people taking the surveys, at least there were no complaints. Very straightforward for the end users. It looks nice for the most part. **What do you dislike about SurveyMonkey?** It doesn’t allow much customization of the invitations that are sent so it looks less professional than other survey programs. Likewise, for any in depth survey-ing you need to purchase additional options and it didn't work well, pricing-wise, for the occasional users. The free options almost don't seem worth it. **Recommendations to others considering SurveyMonkey:** If your survey is simple, with few limitations then you may like this software. Likewise, if you are intending to survey frequently and wish to pay for a service that is more sleek than google forms you should check this out as well. You should also consider if you want to customize invitations or not. **What problems is SurveyMonkey solving and how is that benefiting you?** We like to check how our collateral is being used and the effectiveness. This program allows us to survey our users. Beyond that we have had to use other surveying software and we chose to go with google forms because it was free and customizable. ### 37. I also like that it's pretty user friendly and has the option to send out free surveys. Some of the options aren't super intuitive based on looking at the creation form. **Recommendations to others considering SurveyMonkey:** SurveyMonkey is a good product to use if you're trying to survey a lot of people quickly and get easy-to-read information back. I do think it needs to integrate better with other softwares, but if you're looking for something to get into survey creation, SurveyMonkey is a good option. I like how it is so straightforward (maybe too simplistic?) to use and you have multiple options for question types and answer types.i feel that the site is secure also. **What do you dislike about SurveyMonkey?** Drag and drop features would be nice to have. Very limited with how you can put surveys on your website. I've contacted Customer Service and their response is always "we cannot do that, but I've forwarded it to our team to review for a future update!" which is helpful but at the same time, do they really listen and make those updates??? **Recommendations to others considering SurveyMonkey:** Unfortunately I've found that most of the "cons" of this software are also found in other comparable tools. Would be great to have a tool that allows you to put surveys on your website with a timed feature, so that no matter what page a user is on, after 30 seconds or so the survey will appear. Most seem to be limited to code on specific pages. If that is a user's landing page, it can be quite frustrating. **What problems is SurveyMonkey solving and how is that benefiting you?** Getting quick answers to questions from customers or colleagues.
