## Superblocks Reviews
  ### 1. Low code tool that's thought out well

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nathaniel M. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 29, 2024

**What do you like best about Superblocks?**

Superblocks is easy to get started with and enables you to quickly create internal tooling. It can integrate with data from a wide variety of services, and is quite flexible. It allows you to write custom code either in data processing or for the frontend components that get displayed to the users.

**What do you dislike about Superblocks?**

Like other low-code tools, you're likely to run into the problem where you can accomplish most of what you want with the visual editors, but then find that the remaining work is more difficult. Superblocks mostly mitigates this by allowing you to put custom code pretty much wherever you want, but having this code scattered around is still not as efficient as just having a repository with proper version control that you can edit with an actual IDE.

**What problems is Superblocks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I've personally used it to create an internal QA dashboard that allows content authors to see at a glance which articles on our site might need attention.

  ### 2. Great tool for quick app building!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 15, 2024

**What do you like best about Superblocks?**

I love the ability to create bite sized blocks, connect to APIs, and build working apps quickly. I mostly use for connecting to AI gateway to help me improve my efficiency. Deploying feels pretty straightforward.

**What do you dislike about Superblocks?**

I can sometimes get a bit lost when setting up my connections to my buttons and text fields to what I want them to do. I feel like I could benefit from a cheat sheet or instructions for what I want to build.

**What problems is Superblocks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I want to quickly build AI apps for my work and helping me improve efficiencies so getting ideas and implementing quickly for an MVP is ideal.

  ### 3. Great platform for backend developers to build UI dashboards!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lior M. | Software Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2023

**What do you like best about Superblocks?**

As a backend developer, the intricate details of frontend coding were not just my cup of tea—until I discovered Superblocks.
This platform has been nothing short of a revelation, allowing me to construct sleek, functional UIs for dashboards without needing to dive deep into frontend technologies.
Superblocks stands out for its remarkable ease of use.
The platform is intuitively designed, making it accessible even to those with zero frontend knowledge.
The quality of the UI applications you can create is impressive; they're not only aesthetically pleasing but also rich in features.
It's evident that Superblocks has been built with a deep understanding of the needs of backend developers.
Another aspect where Superblocks shines is in its customer support and documentation. The support team is incredibly responsive.

**What do you dislike about Superblocks?**

While Superblocks excels in many areas, there's always room for growth. Currently, there are a few features I look forward to seeing in future updates:
- Key-Value Pair
- Export-Import Applications
- Single Page Applications (SPA) Support
- JSON Sorting (the current automatic sorting of JSON objects can sometimes reduce readability. An option to maintain the original order would be appreciated).

**What problems is Superblocks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Building user interface without Frontend development knowledge.

  ### 4. Fast, effective, elegant tool to create powerful web applications & workflows without code

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alex C. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 03, 2024

**What do you like best about Superblocks?**

Elegance of the interface, feature rich and excellent functionality in the free plan makes it straight-forward & easy to get started and develop powerful web apps & workflows.

Integration with common services & technologies such as REST is also very easy to utilise. This allows developers to focus on business logic and interfaces rather than tradionally taking much longer to code various app components.

Staging and Production areas make it easy to deploy and auto backup / versions ensures all changes / rollback is available.

Good customer support for any issues and open to feedback & suggestions.

**What do you dislike about Superblocks?**

There are some minor interface elements that could be optimised.
Change Logs and public roadmaps for features and enhancements would be good.
Local file storage would be useful rather than depending on external file services.

**What problems is Superblocks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Quickly enabling simple web apps to connect to / control various services via REST.

  ### 5. Great for quickly building internal tooling

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cameron H. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 22, 2024

**What do you like best about Superblocks?**

Superblocks makes frontend development super quick and easy. It abstracts away the details of React to make web development accessible to teammates in a wide range of functions, from design to product management to backend development, while offering a good amount of customization and the ability to add custom React components if you need UI or behavior they don't already support. The drag-and-drop experience suits developing from a wireframe design, and the theming tools are easy to use.

It's super easy to integrate with existing GraphQL and REST APIs, and there's good support for a variety of backend authentication schemes.

The recent addition of version control and continuous integration have vastly improved the experience of collaborating with teammates on an app. Going through QA of a feature branch on a Superblocks app is worlds easier because Superblocks deploys a preview instance with a shareable URL for each commit you make, abstracting away the containerization work normally involved in standing up a QA instance.

Permissions and access controls are simple to use and sufficient for our needs.

Customer service is unparalleled, better than any enterprise software vendor I've worked with. Superblocks achieves a relatively fast turnaround time between feature request and delivery, and the support engineers are super competent.

**What do you dislike about Superblocks?**

Continous deployment would be a great addition to the development lifecycle. Merge conflicts are rough to resolve as well.

There's more room for improvement in developer experience: The GraphQL integration is workable but not fully featured, and code reusability is not well supported. We find ourselves doing a lot of copy-pasting for bits of behavior/logic we need frequently, both in components and in API integrations. API integrations don't accept parameters currently, which also makes them less reusable.

**What problems is Superblocks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use it to quickly stand up GUIs for data backfilling services, as well as to build more complex customer management tooling involving large forms. It meets our needs because the primary complexity of our work is on the backend; opting for a simpler, abstracted frontend development process keeps the feature development lifecycle overall proportionately weighted. We can spend less time on the (for us) simple problems on the frontend, leaving us free to focus on the core of the work on the backend.

  ### 6. Best Admin Tooling Out There

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tony D. | CTO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 22, 2024

**What do you like best about Superblocks?**

Superblocks is an incredibly easy way to spin up admin tooling. I honestly use it every single day to manage all of our stacks. I've used things like Retool, Airplane, etc, but I was shocked by how much faster I could move with Superblocks.

We're heavy users of the on-prem agents which let us build admin tooling across a variety of stacks, all with a much lighter compute footprint than self-hosted Retool or Airplane.

Support has also been awesome, the infra team has been super responsive and even merged my PRs against their on-prem agent helm repo.

**What do you dislike about Superblocks?**

I wish there were an easier way to reuse APIs and blocks across applications. I find it so easy to spin up apps that I'll often do a one-off API or application and want to reuse it later in another app. I think their workflows feature probably fills this gap, but I don't tend to plan out reusability when I'm just spinning up a quick app or test dashboard. I would love to be able to convert things into reusuable blocks.

I do wish the creator seats were a little cheaper. Because we use on-prem agents and SSO, we need the enterprise tier which is a little pricey.

**What problems is Superblocks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Superblocks to build backroom/admin tooling for our software. We often build experiments that we administer in Superblocks before building out a user facing tool for our customers. Superblocks OPAs also make it really easy to do this across many stacks in a secure way.

  ### 7. Easy to use tool for backend developers to make internal tools in days

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kevin X. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 22, 2024

**What do you like best about Superblocks?**

Superblock has a lot of important functionality, integrations and workflows that allows you to make forms for external teams like marketing and sales to change assets without the need of developers. The S3, Github, and Secret Manager integrations are game changer ones. I also like that the sales solution engineers are so fast to respond and try to get you unstuck or file new feature tickets so you can move fast.

**What do you dislike about Superblocks?**

As of writing this review, Superblocks is still missing some important features like multiple devs being able to collaborate concurrently like Figma, ease of use for image handling, UI markers and the ability to dynamically adjust the main form. I trust the team will be able to have these features out at some point.

**What problems is Superblocks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Superblocks solves the problem of me being able to quickly create internal apps for non-technical teams like sales and marketing to self serve assets and text they want to change without me needing to go into the database or make API calls myself. I can see usage in the future of anything that is not customer facing and work that needs to be done in the backend. The greatest value I see is the ability for backend developers like me who do not want to spend weeks creating UI elements to create a tool that can remove operational burden off my workload.

  ### 8. Skeptical at first, but happily convinced

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Massimo H. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 22, 2024

**What do you like best about Superblocks?**

I'm not going to regurgitate what's already on the Superblocks website. Here's my honest and raw thoughts on it after using it for a few months:
- The #1 thing you need to keep in mind is that Superblocks is for SAVING TIME and INCREASING PRODUCTIVITY.
- Yes, you can style things and make things fancy in Superblocks, but why bother? You are choosing a platform that is that is going to minimise developer time spent on building internal tooling. Therefore, use the out-of-the-box defaults so that you can have the maximum benefits. Ask yourself an important question. Do you really need to make internal tooling look pixel perfect and follow branding? Because if you want to fiddle with customising everything then do yourself a favour and just write your applications using whatever frameworks you like, your developers will not like being told to do all of that in Superblocks.
- Superblocks is really simple to use with a small learning curve.
- We have a Slack Connection with the Superblocks team and they are very responsive and helpful. We've raised issues and those issues have been investigated and fixed in a timely manner. Thanks guys.
- Our plan is to rewrite all of our internal tooling using Superblocks, of course this will need to be done over time, as and when we have capacity.

In addition, Superblocks means you don't have to worry about the following:
- Writing deployment scripts - It's just a button you press
- Dealing with failed deployments - I've not seen a deployment fail yet
- Keeping dependencies up to date and ensuring dependency versions are compatible with one another - Superblocks handles this
- Having a linter nag at you - Actually it does have one built in but it's not too intrusive and it doesn't actually get in your way
- Trying to satisfy a type checker - There's no type checking, which could be a bad thing, but even as a massive TypeScript fan this has not been a huge issue for me yet
- Being patient whilst a code-analysis tool like SonarQube tries to teach you how to suck eggs 🤨
- Debating folder structure and naming conventions
- Setting up and maintaining code bundling (i.e. Webpack etc)
- Worrying about runtime versions
- Supporting stack trace mapping
- Writing authentication code
- Writing authorization code (for the most part)
- Writing tests (🤫) - You can't write automated tests at the moment, but there are ways around this
- Choosing a frontend framework
- Writing components
- Writing HTML
- Writing CSS
- Worrying about design
- Writing boilerplate functionality (like paging, filtering)
- Worrying about browser support (i.e. checking Can I Use)
- Waiting for someone to write a backend (you can do this yourself)
- Choosing a backend framework

**What do you dislike about Superblocks?**

I haven't come across any major downsides yet, and I've been using it for some time now. These are my honest thoughts:
- It would be nice to have client-side functions, although we found a couple of workarounds for that for most of our use cases.
- I'm personally not 100% convinced with the whole Superblocks workflows thing. As in, I wouldn't rush to rewrite all my backend logic in Superblocks. But it does have a lot of potential when you consider the RBAC functionality so it's one to keep an eye on. Also, if your team knows nothing about writing backend code then they can easily make a dog's dinner out of the job so if that's the case then it's probably better you just do it in Superblocks 😂
- The code editor is a little poor, I tend to cut the code, paste it into VS Code, make the changes, then paste it back in. It's not a hassle and I prefer doing this as I can use all my VSCode plugins, shortcuts, etc.
- There's no support for writing automated tests. We have ways around this as follows:
1) Selenium (webdriver) testing (yes I'm not a huge fan of this)
2) For complex functions, you can write a unit test suite and check it into source control somewhere. Any time you make an amendment to the function, simply copy/paste the new implementation into that repository and check the tests pass (and add any new tests as per the amendments). This works well for me.

**What problems is Superblocks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Internal tooling takes long to develop. Superblocks speeds that up so we can deliver faster.

  ### 9. Great for automating business processes using code and incredibly helpful and dedicated support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Orla R. | Data Analyst, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 21, 2024

**What do you like best about Superblocks?**

Superblocks has been great to automate manual processes such as weekly/monthly reports for other teams in our company. I write mostly in Python so being able to put this code into a Superblocks Workflow or application so programmes are available to colleagues who don't use any code is really helpful. The Superblocks team have been incredibly helpful and quickly in responding to my queries- often sending me clear examples and the documentation available is also well detailed!

**What do you dislike about Superblocks?**

I have to deal with a lot of spreadsheets and being able to manipulate/create .xlsx files on a timely basis is huge part of my role, sometimes I've struggle navigating my way around the available Python libraries to achieve the goal but as afore mentioned the team have always been incredibly helpful with this!

**What problems is Superblocks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Superblocks simplifies the process of encoding programs I've designed for different departments to enhance their workflows and reporting. I've been able to easily transform scripts into applications or schedule routine tasks, allowing myself for greater efficiency and time allocation towards other new projects.

  ### 10. A really promising tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Coulter S. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 04, 2024

**What do you like best about Superblocks?**

Superblocks is powerful, easy to use, and lets us spin up backend workflows and apps with ease. It provides a nice layer of abstraction ontop of what would be a very complicated serverless tech stack. I utilize workflows the most to spin up light weight scripts that I call from other apps like Airtable or Slack. Team is very supportive and open minded.

**What do you dislike about Superblocks?**

Some of the biggest cons of Superblocks are 1) Its UI can get cluttered when you make a lot of apps and workflows, 2) It doesn't support more robust typed languages like Typescript, 3) Latency can be *very* high for both UI and backend workflows, 4) Light mode IDE...

**What problems is Superblocks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Great for point solutions where you just need to regularly run a script, or for basic backend web dev tasks. It saves a ton of time.

  ### 11. Easy to get started and excellent support, a rare find!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Civic & Social Organization | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 04, 2024

**What do you like best about Superblocks?**

I am a novice backend developer who needs to quickly prototype AI applications for internal use without having to create an entire front-end from scratch. I tried a few different low-code platforms and Superblocks is my clear favorite because the UX on their platform just makes sense to my brain, so I've been able to jump in. I've only been using it a week or two, but already it has been very easy for me to add different APIs and databases to my project and then connect them to pre-designed UI components, with just snippets of JS to glue them all together. I just finished my first demo app that uses the OpenAI API and I am excited about what I can build next. But for me, the very best thing about Superblocks has been the support -- very quick , friendly, knowledgable, and helpful!

**What do you dislike about Superblocks?**

I think the documentation and walkthroughs could be improved, at least for newer devs like me. A few times I have had ask the help desk a question that I feel could have been covered in the docs.

**What problems is Superblocks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm creating internal tools that pull in data from APIs and databases and then allow my users to "chat" with their data using ChatGPT. I don't want to spend a lot of time on the front right now, I just need it to work, and Superblocks is ideas for that. They have an OpenAI connector and a chat window component that make it relatively easy to snap things together with a bit of JS glue.

  ### 12. Intuitive pro-code tool that aids rapid ui & workflow development backed by 5* customer support

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 05, 2024

**What do you like best about Superblocks?**

Superblocks is a really intuitive pro-code tool that allows for rapid prototype development of UI's and workflows. Access to backend resources is facilitated via the use of integrations that enable different resources to be seamlessly connected during the development and deployment process. There are lot of features available out of the box which provide most of the functionalilty required; however, being a pro-code tool, it is easy to integrate scripts to carry out more specialised functionality.

In addition to having one of the best documentation sets I've seen for software, the customer support from Superblocks is first rate if any questions arise.

**What do you dislike about Superblocks?**

The ability to reuse api blocks across different ui's isn't available currently, nor is the visibility relating to which integration is used by which UI or workflow. That said, Superblocks are making great progress in providing the tools that would be expected as part of any development workflow so I've no doubt these improvements will be coming in the near future.

**What problems is Superblocks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Superblocks is helping us as a team to rapidly build and deploy responsive applications into a production environment, connecting via rest api's to the underlying data sources and existing api's, without having to rely on access to engineering resources within the company.

  ### 13. Easiest Place to Build Apps Quickly

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 05, 2024

**What do you like best about Superblocks?**

Superblocks provides probably the most comprehensive set of automation tools that a developer needs to quickly build apps. I love being able to use Scheduled Jobs for recurring taks (to automate personal tasks), Workflows for REST APIs (which I can hook up to chatbots), and Applications (to drive self-service through dedicated product surfaces)

They've made it really easy to stitch together components and it's EXTREMELY extensible to add support for any React component we might need.

The customer support experience has been a rock solid experience. Lightning fast to respond & very adaptive to our organization's needs.

**What do you dislike about Superblocks?**

An area of growth for Superblocks would likely be on the API management and logging. I dislike having to manage error states & present error messages to users. It would be beneficial for Superblocks to provide better production logging so things can be debugged when your users use the apps.

One other thing, and maybe this isn't the role for Superblocks to play, but I find myself needing to combine their apps with like one-off Firestore databases, or do insane things to manage state inside their python functions.

Workato does this with their Lookup Tables for example. Some sort of lightweight NoSQL database just for JSON blob storage and retrieval would be beneficial.

**What problems is Superblocks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Superblocks is allowing us to create business applications that take complex engineering processes and make them available to customer success & field teams. It's also automating personal workflows like keeping product roadmap systems in sync -- integrating across our business systems. It's returns hours back in the day and improving internal efficiency.

It also let's us prototype new product ideas lightning fast.

  ### 14. Easy to use platform with great customer support

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 04, 2024

**What do you like best about Superblocks?**

The platform is very easy to use. Getting simple applications up and running is a very quick process that even someone with relatively low technical knowledge of web developement can handle. The customer support team is also very helpful and responsive.

**What do you dislike about Superblocks?**

The on-prem hosting option is not really a fully on-prem setup. Instead the front-end and authentication is served through SB cloud, while the underlying data and api calls are served through the on-prem agent. I can see some advantages to a hybrid structure like this, but it may also not be ideal for all use cases.

**What problems is Superblocks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our team needed a way to build simple inernal tooling applications that enabled various teams throughout the company to interact with our rest api product. We didn't want to consume engineering resources to build our own custom web apps to do this enablement, so we use superblocks so that a few people with technical backgrounds outside of the engineering team can build out what their teams need without bogging down the engineers.

  ### 15. Helpful platform for creating internal tools quickly

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Krishnan C. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 07, 2024

**What do you like best about Superblocks?**

Superblocks is great because it lets us construct frontend applications without needing to code, but also allows for using code where necessary. It's a sweet spot between no-code and full internal tooling. Support has also been very quick and responsive whenever I've engaged with them.

**What do you dislike about Superblocks?**

Sharing blocks across different applications is suboptimal, and the libraries available in the Javascript environment are pretty minimal. More flexible environment creation would definitely help us with some of our apps.

**What problems is Superblocks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Superblocks helps us build robust internal tooling without needing to hire additional frontend engineers or UI engineers. We've been able to build a wide range of tools using just the low-code builder that Superblocks offers.

  ### 16. Perfect tool for building internal admin apps.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Denys O. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 04, 2024

**What do you like best about Superblocks?**

For me, as a backend/API developer with minimal UI development experience, it was surprisingly easy to start using Superblocks and build my first application. The platform itself doesn't require any specific knowledge to get started. The variety of standard "Integrations" covers almost all possible types of data sources, so in most cases, you don't need to adjust your backend API to use it in Superblocks. For more advanced scenarios, such as asynchronous long-running queries, there is a "Workflows" feature that provides you with more flexible control over how you retrieve or process data.
What truly sets Superblocks apart is the exceptional customer support I have received. The team's dedication, responsiveness, and expertise have exceeded my expectations. Whenever I encountered challenges or had questions, the support team was quick to provide clear and helpful solutions.

**What do you dislike about Superblocks?**

There are still some minor things that need to be improved or fixed. Additionally, it would be nice to have greater flexibility in the customization of standard components.

**What problems is Superblocks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's much simpler and more time-effective to build internal tools using Superblocks than developing them from scratch.

  ### 17. Great Admin Tooling

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mateja . | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 29, 2024

**What do you like best about Superblocks?**

Its very intuitive, I got used to it withing 3 days of learning and was effectively able to develop after that. The official documentation also helps a lot.

It is very easy to setup an application and give out permissions and access control to whomever needs it. Git integration is a big plus for me.

Alongside the official docs, customer support is very helpful, we had multiple calls and chats with them, and we have a dedicated slack channel with the support people for any problems we encounter.

**What do you dislike about Superblocks?**

The superblocks agent the apps are running on sometimes bugs out, and then the app stops working, but this happens really rarely.

Also, some features like if/else blocks weren't adopted when I was using Superblocks, but I think they're coming in the future.

**What problems is Superblocks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We primarily use Superblocks to build frontends for admins/moderators of our data, saving time on building complex UI's just for them, and enabling us to focus more on the backend side. Also, any quick demo's I don't want to showcase through Postman, I spin up a Superblocks app and voila!

  ### 18. Making analytics easy

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ben S. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 01, 2024

**What do you like best about Superblocks?**

As a small startup, we don't have an analytics team. Superblocks allows me, as a Product Manager with some programming skills, to easily create dashboards and run experiments without having to rely on anybody else. I've even been able to prototype some product functionality in Superblocks and gather user research, without having to take Engineering time.

**What do you dislike about Superblocks?**

Aside from a couple of minor quirks to learn the way around, nothing really.

**What problems is Superblocks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I dont think it's unique in solving a problem, because my requirements could have been filled in other ways. But it does fill requirements - ability to see how our products are being used, and ability to easily prototype further functionality.

  ### 19. Empowering us to focus on what matters

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bryan P. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 25, 2024

**What do you like best about Superblocks?**

A couple years ago, I first was implementing retool to help with internal tooling, but it was prohibitively expensive for the size of the company at the time. We then rolled our own react app, but building on top of it was so time consuming and boilerplate. Not just from a UI building perspective, but also the amount of custom APIs we had to build just to do simple queries. Then Superblocks came along.

We constantly need new tools, dashboards, and scheduled jobs - any of which can be prototyped in an afternoon immediately after having an idea. The free limits to explore all of this is incredibly generous. It gave me enough space to assess the pros and cons of the platform before making a bet. This matters tremendously when every dollar counts. We're at a point now though that I feel confident going forward with Superblocks as the company needs to scale.

Creating APIs with your integrations is phenomenal. I can make DB queries, format it with JavaScript, and pipe it to another API all very easily. It even has control flow capabilities such as loops, conditionals, etc. Sometimes I wish it was this easy to make our own APIs.

The support and documentation is also fantastic. Anytime I find what could be an issue, the support chat is quick and staffed with knowledgeable engineers. I've always had my issues resolved, or they offered approaches to solve what I need to do.

**What do you dislike about Superblocks?**

There are usability issues here and there with the ergonomics of the app editor - copying and pasting components, creating layouts, etc, but nothing that halts my flow state. It also takes some getting used to with certain patterns, like using temporary variable states to control different parts of your app. This becomes harder to manage as your apps become more complex, but just takes some getting used to. I think them adding more refactoring capabilities would help with this.

One other thing that could use some improvement is reusability. I often need to reuse a group of components with some logic in other apps, and unfortunately I just have to remake them. Fortunately on the API side, you can create what's called a Workflow and share API logic. I'd love to see this with components and more basic JavaScript logic I create.

**What problems is Superblocks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It lets us focus on what matters - the core business. I don't want to spend time debugging UI components, scaffolding projects, and deploying internal tooling. With Superblocks we can prototype and operate much quicker, and actually enjoy building.

  ### 20. Nice tool for back-office tasks

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vadym K. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 29, 2024

**What do you like best about Superblocks?**

It's quite easy to setup all the environment and build the basic functional for back-office needs. We use it for our Support team, they are non-technical guys, but can easily use Superblocks platform. The features cover almost all the basic tasks like search, editing and updating of data.

**What do you dislike about Superblocks?**

Sometimes it lacks the advanced binding or scripting features for complex scenarios, but still I always find some workaround with JS scripts and State variables, and of course with a help of tech support ;)

**What problems is Superblocks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The private access for our Support team to business data with possibility to search/update/edit the domain entites. No need to write the whole website, manage access, etc.

  ### 21. Great enabling tool for rapid internal app iteration

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Manufacturing | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 23, 2024

**What do you like best about Superblocks?**

Superblocks has enabled me to rapidly build internal tools for my team, seamlessly integrating with AWS databases. I am mainly familiar with python and sql so it's great to be able to build apps using the superblocks component library, letting me focus on the data manipulation, workflow and design aspects instead. Superblocks support is also very responsive, which has been a huge help as I've navigated their new git features.

**What do you dislike about Superblocks?**

Some aspects of switching between coding in python and sql feel clunky to me - each sql query needs to be its own code block and adding new code blocks has some friction, especially when I need to edit them; I am more used to navigating code in vs code which has nicer formatting and other tools for quickly editing and adding code compared to superblocks.

**What problems is Superblocks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's great to have a tool that has built-in component library with fairly high customizability. I'm currently using superblocks to build out internal apps for data and process tracking, enabling me to spend more time on the design and data processing workflows rather than building out a front end on my own (an area where I don't have much knowledge).

  ### 22. Excellent development site and tech support

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Health, Wellness and Fitness | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 21, 2024

**What do you like best about Superblocks?**

Easy to connect to my external database and to incorporate that data into my front end elements (tables, dropdowns, other fields). They have good documentation and video tutorials, and I was able to get information quickly via chat, when I needed more help. Their IT team even followed up with me, via email, to let me know that they made an enhancement that I needed.

**What do you dislike about Superblocks?**

I would have liked an integration that is backwards compatible with MySQL 5.x, but I understand that's difficult because that version is no longer supported. They also don't have an option yet for external users, but I'm hopeful they'll release that version soon.

**What problems is Superblocks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Superblocks allows me to create tables and forms quickly and integrate those with my data. I can also integrate that data easily with Jotform, and I can pull my Jotform submissions easily by creating a Superblocks integration, to connect to Jotform's API.

  ### 23. Easy, Effective, and Excellent Support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matt H. | District Technician, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 21, 2024

**What do you like best about Superblocks?**

Building custom integrations and easily building a dashboard for various other products was an awsome experience. When I was stuck on something, support came through with a real person quickly and provided solutions to my problems. Overall an amazing product!

**What do you dislike about Superblocks?**

There may be a bit of a learning curve if you aren't familiar with API calls or javascript but support is always there to help.

**What problems is Superblocks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed a dashboard to display ticket data from multiple ticketting systems as well as network monitoring data. Superblocks let us integrate any API and easily parse and display a professional dashboard in a fraction of the time it would have taken to build it from scratch.

  ### 24. Very helpful tool and exceptional team

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Venture Capital & Private Equity | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 04, 2024

**What do you like best about Superblocks?**

We built a search engine against our internal documents and knowledge base using PineconeDB and Superblocks AI. The Superblocks experience made it super easy to get integrated and implement into my documents. Their team was extremely responsive and knowledgeable. I use this tool all the time.

**What do you dislike about Superblocks?**

Nothing stands out in particular, though there are some new future developments (any one that is relevant?) that I'm excited about.

**What problems is Superblocks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm currently using Superblocks to develop an internal knowledge base tool, helping my team onboard faster without needing help from more senior members of the team. This reduces the resources and time needed to train new team members.

Superblocks has Python support is great because we could leverage that for our Pinecone and AI use case. Retool did not have native Python support so it could not address our use case in the way we wanted.

  ### 25. Superblocks solved a huge problem for us!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jared R. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 04, 2024

**What do you like best about Superblocks?**

Quickly getting our team access to actionable data and reports without having to pull a developer in or off another task. Keeps all of our devs working on their projects with easy tools for managers and admins to quickly build and deploy reports and data.

**What do you dislike about Superblocks?**

I don't love the pricing model on workflows so we don't use them. Still totally worth it for me without that.

**What problems is Superblocks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Quick reports, complex queries that hit our database but don't hit our app backend or API endpoints. Very efficient query processing as well. The support is also top notch. They resolve questions and issues quickly and are very responsive.

  ### 26. Powerful set of features to rapidly build out system tools. Inclusion of python is a huge plus1

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dion M. | Lead Platform Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 23, 2024

**What do you like best about Superblocks?**

I really like the ease of building work flows. Also really like the inclusion of python scripting into the system (with a broad set of modules enabled). This allows me to quickly develop solutions without having to build out external API's or systems. The system is easy to set up and use. I was able to develop some quick solutions right out of the box. Once you understand how the workflow system works with the user interface elements, things move very quickly.

**What do you dislike about Superblocks?**

The styling is limited. Not really a way to add my own CSS. This limits my use for public facing solutions. Also, the workflow costs may become an issue over time. As my workflow complexity increase..that expense could ramp up quickly.

**What problems is Superblocks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Back off "glue" tools. i.e. building out tools on top of our DB and API's to provide internal users tools to complete their tasks.

  ### 27. Fantastic Tool to develop internal tools with non-public data sources

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jon S. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 29, 2024

**What do you like best about Superblocks?**

We use the onprem agent with superblocks to keep our data secure and protected from the outside. It's extremely easy to get started with and has great documentation to help get you up to speed. I found it simple to integrate with our existing platforms. We're still learning every day while using it but couldn't be happier with the product!

**What do you dislike about Superblocks?**

I cannot think of any downsides at the moment.

**What problems is Superblocks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Superblocks is helping us develop workflows that allow disparate internal systems to work cohesively together for reporting / updating purposes. Prevously it was a lot of manual manipulation of data and Superblocks has helped fill the gap.

  ### 28. Quick and easy to roll out

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tudor B. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 01, 2024

**What do you like best about Superblocks?**

Simple interface and examples meant it is possible to get an MVP internal app up and running in half and hour. A lot of the key aspects are built into the platform, like user management, making roll out trivial.

**What do you dislike about Superblocks?**

A few of the API's could have a few more examples. The AI assistant helped but had to use external documentation to tidy-out some of the integrations.

**What problems is Superblocks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our team needed a quick and simple solution to explore and action on internal data. Visual analytics wasn't enough, and needed an easy way to allow form input and actions. Superblocks worked out perfectly for the use case.

  ### 29. A dynamic platform driving innovation and efficiency

It's really easy to use and implement to our backend apis. And there are a lot of integration selections.

Whenever I have a question, their customer support helps immediately.

**What do you dislike about Superblocks?**

Sometimes it's kinda hard to implement our dream designs into the app.

**What problems is Superblocks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Creating quick Minimum viable products is the most benefiting part of Superblocks in our company. It really makes the process 3x faster

  ### 33. Dev friendy

The AI is good, but could be better. Now I need to check with Devy or chatgpt sometimes

**What problems is Superblocks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Prototyping

  ### 34. Superblocks -- Critical Business App

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jim B. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 29, 2024

**What do you like best about Superblocks?**

Most important feature for us is a: static ip for whitelisting and b: extremely flexible read and write access to custom database. It's also very stable and consistent.

**What do you dislike about Superblocks?**

It drive me nuts how easy it is to grab an entire form and move it 2 inches or delete the whole form. Text formatting needs to be better. printing and pdf conversion needs to be out of the box.

**What problems is Superblocks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We built an app to manage product orders and freight needs between our company and 2 outside vendors. it replaced a painful and time-consuming email process.

  ### 35. Perfect blend of old-school coding and AI utilization

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 29, 2024

**What do you like best about Superblocks?**

What I appreciate the most is how it doesn't feel like it's trying to replace the traditional coding experience but rather enhance it. Superblocks is a must-have for any 100x developer as it unbelievably speeds up the coding, integrating external data sources, and deploying apps. The interface is intuitive and easy for any developer to use; it just feels familiar. Lastly, the customer support is like nothing I've ever seen. Ten minutes since bug-report the fix was on production - unbelievable.

**What do you dislike about Superblocks?**

I wish there were more backend languages to choose from. Yet, I've built an app using Python for the first time in hours.

**What problems is Superblocks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Reduces costs and allows me to 100x my time by building and shipping features much faster than before. Not to mention the lack of maintenance costs.

Superblocks makes it super easy to build and deploy applications and workflows using little to no code. Superblocks also allows you to fully customize your on-prem experience so you can deploy using amazon CDK.

**What do you dislike about Superblocks?**

You are currently limited to using a set amount of node modules in their javascript coding blocks and some of them are slightly outdated (AWS SDK v2 instead of v3)

**What problems is Superblocks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is allowing teammates with little to no coding experience build usable tools that would normally take 3x as long to create

  ### 40. Excelent platform to build internal tools

  ### 41. Truly built with engineering teams in mind!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jay G. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 13, 2023

**What do you like best about Superblocks?**

It has been an absolute pleasure working with Superblocks (both the team and the application itself!). Not only has it been relativley easy to integrate with our existing APIs, but the developer experience of actually putting together apps and tools has been great. Engineers are excited to work in Superblocks and have even described the experience as fun! We have also been consistently impressed by the teams responsiveness to our concerns and the speed with which they have picked up work related to our major pain points. At every step of the process the team has been incredibly quick to work with us on finding a solution and keeping our momentum to drive adoption across our org.

**What do you dislike about Superblocks?**

There's very little I can put in the dislike column about Superblocks. At almost every turn they have preempted my asks with either full releases or an explainer of where it falls into the roadmap. I think one pain point that I would love to see evolve/continue to improve is around code re-usability - we do find ourselves copying standard code from one app to another when it doesn't neatly fit in a workflow. Overall though, we've been incredibly happy with Superblocks!

**What problems is Superblocks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Superblocks helps us increase the speed to delivery of our internal tooling. We have our own internal admin tool that has become a pain to maintain over time and it is a breath of fresh air to be able to spin up new tooling for our internal teams with greater speed again. Superblocks also servers as a more convenient integration point with other third party systems our business uses, without requiring our engineering teams to build specific and one off integrations for each.

  ### 42. Easy way to build a fully customizable platform for internal research

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Venture Capital & Private Equity | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 02, 2024

**What do you like best about Superblocks?**

Superblocks made it really easy to create one centralized place to view all of our data and research. We needed something that was faster with a better UI/UX than Salesforce and LookerStudio. The built-in components are great, but the emphasis on the ability to customize our apps via custom components is what led us to choosing Superblocks over Retool. Big fan of their documentation as well - makes it even easier to get set up.

**What do you dislike about Superblocks?**

No negative feedback for the most part - one dream feature would be some sort of chat like interface that could read over all their docs and help tell me whether or not it's possible to build certain charts / features.

**What problems is Superblocks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Creating one centralized repository for all our research and data in an easy to consume way

  ### 43. The best no-code tool I've found

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 27, 2024

**What do you like best about Superblocks?**

Superblocks has extensive video content to learn their no-code system. I was able to connect my data sources and build my first dashboard in a single day. As a non-technical user I was able to get pretty far on my own. The dashboards we've created in Superblocks are essential to our day-to-day operations.

**What do you dislike about Superblocks?**

There are a lot of capabilities of Superblocks that are beyond my tech skillset and I am searching for the right data engineering resources to take full advantage of the platform.

**What problems is Superblocks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have disparate data sources that need to be in one place. We've connected our Snowflake, ZenDesk, and proprietary sources into a single dashboard. It eliminates constant app-switching for our data consumers.

  ### 44. Superblocks by design addresses the practical challenges of our enterprise where others have failed

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Games | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 05, 2024

**What do you like best about Superblocks?**

It's not until you truly attempt a wide roll-out of an internal tooling platform that you understand the difference between an impressive demo and the reality of trying to integrate dozens of systems. Superblocks is engineered for an impressive balance of flexibility and ease of use which has supported our 3 person team in maintaining momentum of onboarding dozens of organizations with hundreds of users. This simply wouldn't be possible without Superblocks (believe me, we have tried!).

The design philosophy of Superblocks is fundamentally different to any other solution we have evaluated, owing to a deep understanding baked into the product of the practical challenges faced by medium-large organizations. Superblocks provides intergration points to solve for integration challenges at every level, setting it apart from competitors in the way that Auth0 did for AuthN/AuthZ. Other options we explored made too many assumptions about our business & tech, so be sure to bring your most frustrating use cases to your evaluations and you'll start to understand how Superblocks differentiates.

The barrier to building internal tools for our organization was our heterogeneous enterprise network architecture consisting of multi-cloud and on-premise networks relying on multiple VPNs to access our services. Superblocks has an on-premise agent which flexible deployment enabling us to onboard dozens of teams to develop internal tools without requiring traffic to traverse the internet. This is simply the current reality for many hyper-grown companies, so we love to find vendors who meet us where we're at without criticizing the maturity of our architecture.

Being able to inject code to almost any component of the tool provides an escape hatch for our users to bind to legacy or esoteric systems, often being able to port existing bindings across and without relying on Superblocks to prioritize and build custom product features for us. Support for workflows also means we're able to move asynchronous tasks and ETLs previously driven by opaque CI tools, providing the observability and reliability we need for our processes.

All of this is complemented by the Superblocks support team acting as an extension of our organization. The result is our teams being empowered to solve their own tooling gaps without having to undergo a vast multi-year modernization effort or sacrificing control and compliance. We have experienced even non-technical users being able to ramp up and author their own custom integrations using generative AI features, which is something which would be unimaginable before.

Superblocks is here as a partner for the long-haul of modernizing our business. The ROI was proven in weeks, not months, and this compounds as more users become familiar with using the tools and our users continue to organically drive down COGS in innovative ways we hadn't even considered before.

**What do you dislike about Superblocks?**

Superblocks has focused on investment in flexibility of the tool authoring experience, which is the right prioritization call. Where it is lacking is support for enterprise features in their management console, such as support for custom domains, ability to create and manage multiple tenants mapped to organizational units, centralized policies to act as guardrails (in the way that AWS SCP works), and visibility into usage & billing. We've been able to build our own solutions for some of these (in Superblocks!) and custom domain support is somewhat mitigated by the new embedding feature. For the remaining gaps we've found the product team to be receptive to our feedback and are looking forward to seeing future iterations.

**What problems is Superblocks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tooling for live broadcast and IT operations, single pane of glass for project management and executive reporting, and administration consoles for software developers.

  ### 45. Using Superblocks to Build Product Prototypes

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 05, 2024

**What do you like best about Superblocks?**

Superblocks has a number of great features. A few that I often use:
- The ability to add any react component to the UI with a few lines of code is invaluable. Not only does superblocks have great documentation and a tutorial on how to add custom UI components, but once you deploy a custom component it can be used by the rest of the team. This has allowed us to build great prototyping products without being blocked on UI.
- Superblocks has an AI tool that can generate javascript and python code simply by me typing what code I need to generate. I have found this feature to be a huge productivity multiplier and the code generation is quite good.
- Workflows are immensly valuable and have allowed our team to build custom API endpoints that can be easily called by our application, TWILIO webhooks, etc.
- Overall, superblocks has given us a tool that allows us to rapidly develop prototypes, pushing our product and product discovery processing forward.

**What do you dislike about Superblocks?**

Superblocks is definitely adding to its feature set, but it does currently have some limitations and we have also had some minor bugs. The team is very quick to fix the bugs, which is a positive, and I'm sure this will continue to get better over time. Having more "out of the box" UI components, as well as some additional features like dedicated databases would be nice to have.

**What problems is Superblocks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Superblocks is allowing us to quickly build product prototypes that we can deploy in the field, allowing us to get initial product ideas in front of our end users. We can spin up UIs at an extremely quick pace, which has helped us push our product forward.

  ### 46. Creating operational dashboards to expose data securely to our Ops team.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Natali S. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 24, 2023

**What do you like best about Superblocks?**

Backend Team's best friend, allow us to expose our Processes and Data to collaborators, quickly and easily, without frontend experience required.

**What do you dislike about Superblocks?**

Not enough authorization features (role-specific capabilities). missing some 'out of the box' features that exists with competitors ('key value' component for displaying single-objects easily (not only arrays).

**What problems is Superblocks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a backend team, we have no easy way to expose our data externally to various non-R&D departments, and we are frequently asked to pull data or explain our processes.

  ### 47. Internal tooling made very easy

**What do you like best about Superblocks?**

Hands down one of the best products I've used. It made building internal tooling so easy because it is clear that the product is built by engineers for engineers. Things just work the way you expect. Easy to configure for the front end, but also very strong backend automation and integration. The tool does expect the users to have some level of coding experience (hence built for developers), however it does unleash so much flexibity and potentials. I never felt I was restricted by the tool to build what I need, which is often not the case for this type of low-code platforms.

We started using Superblocks as an early stage startup, and it saved us so much time for the implementation. So far, it scales really well as the company continues to go, and we started to leverage more and more of its functionality. Highly recommend!

**What do you dislike about Superblocks?**

As an backend/data engineer, it took me a while to get a hang of the markup language used in the platform (javascript based). The support has been very responsive and helpful. Although I do wish there are more learning resources on this topic.

**What problems is Superblocks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We mainly use Superblocks to develop our internal tooling. It works almost like Webflow on the front end, but are so much more flexible with the backend integration. Our current usage includes:
- Simple cron jobs
- Customer management
- Ops tools: document generation through API, dashboard

Benefits:
- Fast to implement
- Wide ranges of options for backend integrations: database, API, third party APIs, etc
- Managed platform: no dev-ops needed

  ### 48. Great compliment of out of the box features and extensibility.

**What do you like best about Superblocks?**

We were up and running with our first Superblocks app within hours. We were impressed by how much sophistication we could build into a Superblocks app while still keeping clean, maintainable code.

**What do you dislike about Superblocks?**

We haven't found anything to dislike yet.

**What problems is Superblocks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We wanted to allow our team to quickly build internal tools to support operations teams. We've built several such tools from scratch but they all eventually fall out of maintainability due to lack of development resources.

  ### 49. Efficient Low-Code Solution

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospitality | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 04, 2024

**What do you like best about Superblocks?**

I've found Superblocks to be a highly useful low-code platform for app development. It's user-friendly, making it accessible to both back-end and front-end developers. Their customer support is exceptional, always ready to assist. The tool seamlessly integrates with essential services like Hubspot, Zendesk, and Slack, which is a major plus for us.

**What do you dislike about Superblocks?**

The UI could be more advanced, and the lack of features like copy-pasting blocks between apps can be limiting, but it's also true that they are constanlty adding new features. Collaborative work can also lead to some manual code merging, which could be improved.

**What problems is Superblocks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Improving Internal Processes. By using Superblocks to create internal apps, we can automate and optimize various internal processes. Whether it's streamlining communication, managing tasks, or tracking performance, the apps we build can lead to more efficient workflows, saving time and reducing errors. We are also creating a external app for our clients.

  ### 50. Supercharged tool development

**What do you like best about Superblocks?**

Superblocks has been a game changer for our internal application development. It's an incredibly powerful platform that allowed our team to build custom internal tools and applications at an astonishing speed. We were able to hit the ground running and deliver solutions much faster than anticipated as it speeds up developer productivity.

**What do you dislike about Superblocks?**

AI could be better - it lacks context for variables and workflows defined.

**What problems is Superblocks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Internal tools, dashboards to view data
