## About Summize
As a Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) solution, Summize is the AI contracting layer that powers the business with embedded knowledge in the tools where work happens. At its core is the contract operations layer, which manages the full lifecycle - intake, generation, review, collaboration and storage - all in one connected journey. Built on top is the agentic activation layer, which transforms contract data into actionable business intelligence. By embedding directly into Outlook, Teams, Slack, Gmail, Salesforce, and HubSpot, Summize meets teams where they already work, driving adoption across the business while giving legal teams the control, structure and efficiency they need.

## Summize Reviews
 ### 1. Modern, Intuitive Summize UI That Drives Fast Adoption

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brian D. | Chief Legal Officer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 09, 2026

**What do you like best about Summize?**

The Summize UI/UX is very modern and intuitive. Rather than bury features and functionality many layers deep in menus, almost everything is exactly where you'd expect to find it. When something like this is more usable, it's more quickly and widely adopted - a key metric in legal ops deployment.

**What do you dislike about Summize?**

This is nit-picky, but there are some workflows in the real-world that you can't control because you're working with external parties. That means, for example, that filenames get changed or we have to use a different signature workflow. When that happens, it's a bit burdensome to get documents out of "Requests" and into the "Repository". I would love to see some automatic file-naming functionality and an improved workflow for moving contracts to the repository that haven't been signed within the platform.

**What problems is Summize solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Summize addresses two key needs for my team - having a clearer picture of all contracts (e.g., quantities, counterparties, key terms, etc.) and enforcing consistent review and filing processes. Summize excels both of these areas with built-in AI insights and a very adaptable workflow builder.

 ### 2. Effortless Setup and Intuitive Usability

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Danielle A. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 22, 2026

**What do you like best about Summize?**

I am very thankful for the help from James Blake who has been fantastic, very patient, understanding, and diligent. The experience with Summize has been fabulous, and our team has commended us for being light years ahead of where we were. It is an easy tool to use, even for those who are not tech-savvy, with everything at our fingertips and AI integration. The ease of use is what I like most about Summize. It's very intuitive, considering the end user and the in-house group when they built the tool. Because it's so easy to use, I don't have to worry about gaining buy-in from the business, as everyone loves using it and it makes life easier for everyone. Our tech team loved the product too, found it very easy to integrate without issues. Summize is integrated with Gmail and DocuSign, which has been very helpful for streamlining processes.

**What do you dislike about Summize?**

I think over time, the functionality will become a little better. At times, I found that the system can be a little slow to respond, or maybe there's a feature that temporarily is not working the way that it should, but it always bounces back.

**What problems is Summize solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Summize streamlines our contract process, offering easy collaboration and an intuitive central repository. Its ease of use ensures team adoption, and integrations with Gmail and DocuSign simplify workflows significantly.

 ### 3. Easy to Use and Seamlessly Integrated into Our Legal Operations

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kathryn R. | Head of Legal & Corporate Strategy, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Summize?**

Summize is very easy to use. Our users have needed little to no training, and the request process has integrated seamlessly into our day-to-day legal operations. Overall, it fits naturally into our workflow and makes handling requests straightforward. Implementation was also fast.

**What do you dislike about Summize?**

This isn’t exactly a dislike, more an eyes-wide-open observation. The Summize product is still maturing, and there are a some minor QOL features I’d like to see added. The biggest one is the ability to set default request names and file names, instead of relying on users to enter free text. As it stands, that approach can result in non-descript naming conventions based on user input.

**What problems is Summize solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Summize is helping us address three core challenges: (1) contract visibility, (2) operational efficiency, and (3) scalability.

Before Summize, our contract management was largely manual, relying on Google Drive folders and spreadsheets to track key terms. As a result, it was time-consuming to find agreements, monitor obligations, and keep processes consistent. Summize has provided a centralised Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) system and a true single source of truth for all contracts.

It also makes it easy to surface key commercial and legal data points (e.g., term, renewal, liability, etc.) without needing a manual review each time. This has improved how quickly we can respond to internal and external questions, support audits and diligence, and get a clearer view of risk and exposure across our overall contract landscape.

The automated request workflow has streamlined the way contracts are initiated, reviewed, and approved. Stakeholders can submit requests through structured forms, which cuts down on back-and-forth, improves data quality at intake, and ensures the legal team is brought in at the right time with the right information.

Overall, Summize has moved us from a reactive, manual process to a scalable, data-driven CLM model. It saves time, reduces risk, improves business visibility, and enables the legal function to operate more strategically as the company scales.

 ### 4. AI-Powered Efficiency

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 19, 2026

**What do you like best about Summize?**

One of the best aspects of Summize is its AI-assisted capabilities for analyzing contracts and proactively flagging risks, even in executed agreements. This adds a lot of value beyond just contract storage. Also, the integration with DocuSign is seamless, and the fact that all executed agreements are automatically stored in the repository saves significant time and reduces manual work.

**What do you dislike about Summize?**

The distinctions between requestor and collaborator access were not clearly explained during the sales process, and it only became apparent later that only collaborators have full visibility over all requests. In a fast-paced environment like ours, having broad visibility is critical for efficient coordination, so this limitation was quite disappointing. This is something that should have been more clearly communicated upfront.

**What problems is Summize solving and how is that benefiting you?**

1) The AI’s ability to make a first pass on MSAs received from clients significantly reduces the time spent on initial reviews, which previously took hours.
2) All signed contracts are automatically stored in a centralized repository, eliminating manual filing and reducing the risk of lost documents.
3) The ability to analyze historical contracts at scale (without having to manually search and review them one by one) has greatly improved our ability to extract insights and manage risk more proactively.

**Official Response from Bailey Gifford:**

> Thank you for taking the time to share such your feedback, we really appreciate it. It’s great to hear that you’re seeing value from Summize’s AI capabilities and our Docusign integration and contract storage are helping to streamline your workflows and reduce manual effort.

We also really appreciate your constructive feedback on user roles and visibility. This is something we’re actively working to improve, both in how we communicate it during the sales and onboarding process and in how we continue to evolve role-based access within the platform.

Feedback like yours is incredibly valuable in helping us refine both the product and the overall customer experience. If you’re open to it, we’d love to connect and better understand your workflow so we can ensure you’re set up in the best way possible. Please feel free to reach out to our team (hello@summize.com) or your Customer Success Manager anytime.

Thanks again for your feedback and for being part of the Summize community.

 ### 5. A Streamlined Approach to In-House Contract Drafting and Review

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Sports | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 19, 2026

**What do you like best about Summize?**

There are many features I enjoy about Summize, and I believe they will be beneficial for an in-house legal team like ours by helping us take advantage of the platform and improve our internal workflow. From first learning about Summize at a conference years ago to working with Lauren to get our account up and running, the team has been incredibly easy to work with and has provided tailored support to address our organization’s needs. Additionally, while Summize creates a certain number of templates for you, I’ve found it straightforward to learn how to build templates within the account and set up the different permissions and tasks. We are still in the early stages of rolling Summize out to our internal teams, but I anticipate regular use of the system and expect it to continue being received positively.

**What do you dislike about Summize?**

It’s not so much that I dislike anything; it’s more that I recognize Summize is still growing as a company and as a resource for legal teams. There are a few features that would make the platform easier to use, and Summize is still working on developing them. That said, every time I asked a question about a feature, Lauren either already knew it existed and showed me how to implement it, or she took my suggestion back to her internal team and submitted an engineering request so they could start building the feature.

**What problems is Summize solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Summize will help streamline the internal contract drafting and review processes and provide an easy access repository for the necessary parties to have access to the documents they need. Additionally, the transparency Summize provides through status updates for requests is helpful for the internal business team to get live updates on where their request stands.

 ### 6. Revolutionized Contract Review with Seamless Microsoft Integration

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nelleke J. | Legal Counsel, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 19, 2025

**What do you like best about Summize?**

Summize has significantly improved the efficiency of our contract review and creation processes. It is an impressive tool, offering practical workflows that are immediately accessible to both Legal and business teams. As we transition toward broader adoption, we have already noticed that Summize enables us to work more quickly while ensuring we remain compliant with our legal requirements.

The integration with Microsoft is excellent, particularly the add-ins, which allow both our team and the business to continue working within our usual system without the need to log in to a separate platform.

We expect to be able to help our company's customers even better and quicker, now that we can use the system in a much broader way thanks to Ask SIA (Summize Intelligence Agents)

**What do you dislike about Summize?**

I'm not certain, but it seems there isn't a mobile app available yet for checking statuses. Summize is progressing quickly, and the roadmap consistently addresses awesome new features that will have help us further. Especially the AI feature, Ask SIA is improving rapidly and already a great benefit.

**What problems is Summize solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Summize saves time by enabling standard contracts to be generated directly without Legal involvement each time. Requests are submitted through one central channel, which creates oversight and consistency. As a result, turnaround times will become shorter, standardization improves, and Legal effort is focused where it adds real value. More complex cases, and not the standard requests that are repetitive.

 ### 7. Summize makes contract reviews significantly faster and more efficient

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Renewables & Environment | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 02, 2026

**What do you like best about Summize?**

The Legal Front Doors have already significantly streamlined our process. Additionally, Summize makes reviewing contracts many times faster – and overall noticeably more efficient. What really stood out for us was the customer support and the assistance during the transition to Summize. Our weekly meetings with our Implementation Manager Alex were very helpful: He really put in the effort to solve every problem – and in the end, it always worked out.

**What do you dislike about Summize?**

Since we have been using Summize, everything has become simpler and better so far.

**What problems is Summize solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A major problem for us was that often multiple versions were in circulation simultaneously, or employees did not know where to find the relevant information. With Summize, this is now resolved, as everything comes from a "Single Source of Truth." For us as a legal team, this means significantly less administrative work: Through the workflows, we can standardize and streamline standard processes, so we no longer have to be involved every time for standard matters.

 ### 8. Effortless Task Management, But Needs Better Mobile Customization

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rachel G. | Contracts Administrator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 21, 2025

**What do you like best about Summize?**

This app has truly simplified my work life, tasks are well organized and prioritized, routing happens automatically, and reviewing standard clauses is straightforward and efficient. The app itself is also very user-friendly. Tom H and Kallan have been an absolute dream team to work with; they are extremely responsive, and Kallan has consistently stayed on top of everything related to implementation. While there have certainly been some hiccups and roadblocks along the way, the positive attitude and excellent customer support from both of them have made me a loyal fan!

**What do you dislike about Summize?**

The app could really benefit from more customization options, such as the ability to adjust status settings and features like "Ask Contracts." Additionally, having a mobile version is important to me, as I need to be able to handle simple approvals and workflows from my phone. Right now, using the app on a mobile device is challenging due to limited visibility.

**What problems is Summize solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The platform offers strong organization and traceability, which helps improve productivity. It also supports the standardization of clauses and identification of red flags.

 ### 9. User-Friendly Platform That Streamlines Workflows and Reporting

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 05, 2026

**What do you like best about Summize?**

Summize is very user-friendly, on both the requester and admin sides. Summize has streamlined both are pre and post signature workflows by creating a single source of truth for our requests and repository. The Reporting capabilities are also a game changer for us!

Implementation was simple, and Lauren + team have been great to work with!

**What do you dislike about Summize?**

Summize seems to be a little bit "buggy" at times. Additionally, there are big differences in the create workflows vs the review workflows, specifically when it comes to uploading new versions. Our processes would be smoother if these request workflows operated more similarly.

Customer Support has also been slow at times.

**What problems is Summize solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Summize not only creates a single source of truth for us, but allows all of our users to access historic contracts that are relevant to their team. Visibility and overall efficiency have been greatly improved with Summize.

 ### 10. All-in-One Platform with Friendly, Professional Support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 03, 2026

**What do you like best about Summize?**

One platform that does it all. I am also grateful for the friendly and professional environment that welcomes my questions, feedbacks and requests.

**What do you dislike about Summize?**

I believe the basic packages should have a bit more users but that is a very minor thing and probably focusing on my needs a little bit too much

**What problems is Summize solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Central knowledge, easy task distribution and tracking, getting rid of DocuSign
