I don't understand why you have to manually configure the system to cascade information between records. For example, if someone from an existing Account calls with a new line of business (using a DBA), I may go to their Contact record to create the lead...but the lead doesn't auto-populate the address fields from the Contact record. Sugar Sell offers the customizations you need without being excessive. There is the option to enhance your instance by collaborating with one of their many partners. It has an easy way of writing your own business processes to help automate the administration at the field level.
