It requires direct communication between their support team and the hosting company, and since Sucuri takes as much as 6 hours to respond to each request, it's unmanageable. The response time during installation and configuration is slow, making it harder to install without escalating support, but even then, it's not installed. The installation process was so challenging that on a scale of 1 to 10, I'd rate it a 20. We even escalated the issue to the top level of support, but it still could not be installed. **What problems is Sucuri solving and how is that benefiting you?** We wanted to use Sucuri for ongoing monitoring, but couldn't get it working. Support communication delays make it unmanageable. Installation was extremely challenging, which forced us to escalate to top-level support but still not get it installed. ### 2. It's a really good set of features, all combined together, at an affordable price, if the business can afford it. They do a fantastic job with the CDN, the web application firewall, the scanning system, and the backup system. All these together make a really good mix that helps manage websites pretty well. **What do you dislike about Sucuri?** I think the customer service was a bit hard to reach because they have certain timelines. It's a trouble to reach them, but they do respond after some time. Also, I had some timeout issues when talking to the web server. If the processing takes more than 180 seconds, it just disconnects and gives a timeout error. There's no way to change this timeout. The initial setup takes a little bit of time because you have to do things like adding DNS records, putting in files for scanning, and granting SSH access for backups. It's not something you can do right out of the box. **What problems is Sucuri solving and how is that benefiting you?** I use Sucuri to scan files for malware and block bot traffic, which helps manage website security. The web application firewall, CDN, and backup services work well together to boost performance and protect site assets. ### 3. So far no benefit to the paid version **What do you dislike about Sucuri?** I requested a refund after 3 days (for the following reasons) but was denied: - Site monitoring still shows no blocklist (we are). - server side scanner says its activated (green) with 0 warnings, yet if you look at the audit logs it is not working at all "Unable to run server side scanning " - "backup not detected" yet we're hosted by your partner wp-engine which automatically does daily backups - does not show any firewall active, yet I supposedly activated it in the plugin via API days ago - history has 3 days of scans now, with no issues found, yet the entire site is still blocklisted - I have received no support on the firewall activation or troubleshooting despite repeated requests in tickets and chat. My ticket ###### was assigned to a new person nearly 21 hours ago. It's the follow through with their ticketing system with their techs that is the issue. **What do you dislike about Sucuri?** I just purchased a year-long subscription with them a week and a half ago to help remove malware from my site which has now been down for over a week. Every time I want to get a response from the tech team, I end up having to reach out to the chat bot to request an urgent response to my previous message. It seems like the tech team only response when I send an urgent message to the chat bot assistant. My website has been down for almost 2 weeks because of malware and it seems there's absolutely NO urgency on their part to help fix my issue. They removed most of the malware but there is still malware on my site and I keep reaching out to them to remove it and am receiving snail-paced responses. And, I like Sucuri's Website Backups, this helps when your hosting doesn't include one and you are looking for effective solutions for taking backups, that allow you to restore files with a few clicks as well. Also, you can download the backup files/databases, and do the manual restore if you know what you need to update on the server. **What do you dislike about Sucuri?** The support team's reply takes a bit of time. **Recommendations to others considering Sucuri:** If you are looking to add one more line of defense for your Website, you can try Sucuri. The ticketing systems lacks an ability to add an image so they told me to upload a link through imgur. Uh, sure. Upload an image of our website security settings to a public file-sharing website. Thankfully I thought I have Sucuri to back me. Unfortunately, the lousy service from them added to this very stressful experience. The hackers kept on coming back over two weeks. Sucuri only response one a day to a ticket, so even just asking and answering will take 24 hours. Yes, in today's technology era, this company only responds every 24 hours and every time with a different person. It seems they only operate witing US business hours. In between these 24-hour response cycles, the hackers had all their fun on my website. I will not renew my annual Sucuri subscription and instead take my chances somewhere else. Customer Service: quick, expert response to any question or issue with your website. 2.) Easy to use customer dashboard to monitor performance of your site, force site scans, update settings for multiple features of the website firewall, and easily access any site back-ups. 3.) Customer Engagement: Sucuri provides information to their customers via monthly newsletters and periodic webinars which keep you informed on industry updates and issues. This feature has allowed us to become more educated on website security. 4.) Competitive pricing: Sucuri offers great prices for their service. **What do you dislike about Sucuri?** This is a difficult section to fill out as we have sincerely enjoyed our business relationship with Sucuri, so we don't necessarily DISLIKE anything! The only thing that comes to mind is probably user-related: 1.) The customer/administrator dashboard could be updated for easier use of access. Their are many features available to use, but not sure that we have been able to take advantage of all of them based on our overall knowledge. Advanced website developers will probably have no issues, but the admin panel could probably be formatted into a simpler layout for beginner/intermediate users. **Recommendations to others considering Sucuri:** We used to think that via a SSL and firewall features built into our site from our selected CMS, that we didn't need any additional security. We learned our lesson the hard way! There are so many viruses, hackers, and site vulnerabilities that can disable and shutdown your site in seconds---damaging the hard work of your team and possibly damaging the status of your organization with daily users. You can also spend hours researching website security online, becoming frustrated because of prices and the unknown. Do yourself a favor, look no further, and get protection for your website that will provide you the confidence that your site can stand up to any threats online!! **What problems is Sucuri solving and how is that benefiting you?** As mentioned earlier, we only utilize the website security service for our organization's single site. With that being said, the capabilities of Sucuri's product have far outreached our expectations. The solid website firewall, daily server side scanner, malware protection, and site reporting features allow us to be confident that our site is consistently being protected by solid security software. This allow us to focus on creating content and visuals to our site while being confident that our site is protected from any attacks. The analytical tools provided by Sucuri also help us to monitor the set and customize the settings. IF we ever have a security issue, we're confident that the team at Sucuri will address it quickly and offer a solution. ### 22. It took them over 24 hours just to look at my website. After finally getting to it they could not run the full scan due to techincal reasons. In the end it took 5 days before all was said and done. They knocked out my website for 5 days. Ridiculous. Afterwards I kept them on as I wanted my website protected. Ever since every month there is an issue with them where they knock out my website due their firewalls. "The website that is behind the firewall is secured. However if a hacker knows the host IP, they can use it to attack your website directly. We, of course, cannot give a 100% guarantee that the website is secured enough without the bypass protection as we cannot know if some malicious agent knows the host IP and is willing to exploit that.
