What do you like best about Sublime Text?

I'm an old school developer who likes simplicity and that it doesn't take all your memory. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sublime Text?

probably what I like is the same that I dislike, there are some core features that "modern" text editors like VScode has built in that sublime doesn't have. Is a good trade off in my opinion Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Review for code editor application"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Sublime Text?

Sublime Text excels in speed, responsiveness, and minimalism, making it a favorite among developers. Its powerful features include multiline editing, split editing, and a highly customizable interface. The “Goto Anything” feature allows you to quickly move between files, while the command palette provides easy access to functions. Sublime Text’s extensive plugin ecosystem further enhances its power, allowing users to tailor the editor to their specific needs. Its advanced productivity combined with a sleek, distraction-free workspace ensures high efficiency and effective drafting. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sublime Text?

Sublime Text has some notable shortcomings, including a lack of built-in support for some modern features like advanced debugging, integrated terminals, etc. The licensed model can also be problematic , because continuing to use it requires a purchase, although there are free versions with occasional reminders . Additionally, the learning curve of customization and plugin management can be overwhelming for new users. Some find that there is a lack of customized experience with out-of-the-box operations, requiring redesign to fully align with the needs of a specific individual or business. "Almost but not really"
2.5/5
What do you like best about Sublime Text?

As a software developer I'm using Sublime as my default *text editor*, it's super lightweight (even when compared to VS code my favorite IDE).

I really like its minimalism style and for a text editor, it does the job. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sublime Text?

Unfortunately a lot:

1. Really difficult to customize (complex JSON configuration setting)

2. rarely gets updates and when it does there is no detailed release note like in VS code (i'd want to know what being changed detailed release note is crucial)

3. Maybe the worst search box ever, not clear how to configure it to meet my needs.

4.No easy way to install plugins and extensions Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Light and fast code editor, ideal for everything."
3.5/5
What do you like best about Sublime Text?

Sublime text, is without a doubt the most versatile source code editor that I have used, it includes many functions but the ones that I like the most are its auto-completion, it is fully customizable as well as the keyboard shortcuts, another advantage for me is It has support for almost any programming language and also incorporates its own command console to customize features. Although it has plugins of all types, they are a bit difficult to install since they must be done using commands, and it also does not have support for git by default, some additional configurations need to be made. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
