It is pretty much a plain text editor that may not be for most common folks other than IT folks

**Recommendations to others considering Sublime Text:**

I would consider it for general file editing when you need to paste some values on many lines, but for development I would recommend visual studio code.

**What problems is Sublime Text solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Using it if there is a need to modify many lines of a large SQL file, or edit a file in a bulk manner.

  ### 2. Gives you much freedom in programming.

I enjoy this software program since it offers folks a great deal of freedom what they desire. You are able to maintain it as a text editor, allowing to modify the own code of yours, but additionally enables you to have it as much as you like with add ons and extensions that can certainly help make it work.

**What do you dislike about Sublime Text?**

While you are able to use Sublime right from the package, you miss a good deal of what Many and sublime of the different solutions that distinguish Sublime from some other similar text publishers. It's likely to obtain Sublime to work as if you will want, but you don't wish to get to find out the inherent factors of Sublime and you will have a great deal to do to reach the appropriate spot.

**Recommendations to others considering Sublime Text:**

VSCode wasn't perfectly supported at that moment, so I required an editor.

**What problems is Sublime Text solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sublime is a great light-weight text editor which may be used as seriously as you would like by adding extensions and add-ons, so Sublime can be best drive everyday in case it wants a content editor which may be used for several hours daily. I cannot use Sublime for each codebase/project, but I definitely love to make use of Sublime when I can easily as well as do not need to be scared to delay dowry.

  ### 4. Amazing text editor all around

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Theodor B. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 27, 2020

**What do you like best about Sublime Text?**

I got the license as a gift from my girlfriend almost 10 years ago since I downloaded it and have been using it for a few months for free, but setting that aside is like WinRAR, you can evaluate that for as long as you want, the nice thing is to buy it, but you don't really need to. I have switched jobs 3 times and computers more than 5 times and I still have a valid license, so that is great.

Besides, that is just the best code editor, it has support for Python, JavaScript, PHP, and many others but that's the only 3 I really care for and doubles as a database opener. A few years ago I mistakenly opened a 5GB database in sublime instead of my usual program and it didn't crash like other text editors I have used before so it's a nice extra.

**What do you dislike about Sublime Text?**

It's great for code analysis, writing code, and working in general as long as you only use one OS. When I switched to MacOSX from Windows... it is really annoying that the shortcuts are different in Windows and in MacOSX, more than once have I needed to stop and think before continue and see what shortcuts I needed to write.

It's not a full IDE, when testing, debugging, and running the code using something like Visual Studio Code or Pycharm is just better suited.

**Recommendations to others considering Sublime Text:**

Try it and pay for the license if you use it regularly.

**What problems is Sublime Text solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Whenever I need to code Sublime text is my main choice

  ### 5. Convenient to view Logs

A lot of debugging happens while developing software. Sublime Text makes it easier to analyze logs and view files.

**What do you dislike about Sublime Text?**

Different text types and better GUI could be there.

**What problems is Sublime Text solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am using it to analyze logs and analyze different files for debugging.

  ### 6. Best Text Editor

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Servesh K. | Computer Software, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Recommendations to others considering Sublime Text:**

  ### 7. Write codes effectively and accurately, without losing elegance

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mathew S. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 07, 2020

**What do you like best about Sublime Text?**

Sublime Text 3 is a very complete code editor. It is friendly and its environment is configurable in such a way that the programmer can choose the colors with which he feels most comfortable. From a technical point of view, this software stands out for its fast execution, lightness and for being multilanguage and multiplatform. It stands out from the crowd for being just what a programmer needs to be able to develop their projects with everything at hand.

**What do you dislike about Sublime Text?**

Its beta versions usually have very strong bugs, generating errors that are later somewhat difficult to report. Definitely something where they should focus on working a little more. Also on a first meeting it can become difficult to set up and learn.

**What problems is Sublime Text solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sublime has allowed me to do a proper project management. Something very useful when several projects are being developed at the same time. When everything is organized, the better attention I can guide to the programming of them.

  ### 8. Sublime Text Review

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rakesh K. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 27, 2020

**What do you like best about Sublime Text?**

1. Light-weighted software.
2. Snippet makes work easier.
3. we can add custom build files for different programming languages.
4. Support and large community.
5. capable of opening large files.
6. Overall cost is less.

**What do you dislike about Sublime Text?**

There is nothing to dislike at all. I liked it the most.

**Recommendations to others considering Sublime Text:**

If anyone looking for a light-weighted text editor which is freely available, then you can consider the sublime text.

**What problems is Sublime Text solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am using it for programming and software development purposes. I found it best in my whole career. It is also freely available. It supports multiple OS like Windows, Mac, Ubuntu. So, if someone looking for IDE or Text Editor. At least try Sublime Text.

  ### 9. A very complete code editor to work quickly on our projects

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ricardo F. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 21, 2020

**What do you like best about Sublime Text?**

This code editor is very complete since it has the best tools at the request of users and developers to edit especially source codes, it has multilanguage support which makes it very dynamic for projects that we are going to develop, it has configurable syntax, as well as It also allows the handling of plugins which makes it very versatile, everything can be managed based on multi-tabs and the coloring of the commands, it is very useful especially when we change from one programming language to another without leaving this program, this added to its error detection mode helps you get jobs done faster.

**What do you dislike about Sublime Text?**

Although it is complete, it needs preview modes as well as more plugins to handle the syntax without the need to install additional plugins

**Recommendations to others considering Sublime Text:**

I recommend starting with simple things and then seeing what plugins are available for this editing program, as well as saving our projects and configuring the languages that will be handled before starting with our projects, I also recommend checking the errors that we are going to dialing in order to fix them on the spot and save time

**What problems is Sublime Text solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When we develop projects with this program we focus on making them dynamic and require a more complex use when passing between different programming languages since this program allows it as well as a more efficient handling by opening multiple tabs in our development where this adds to the syntax commands already differentiated by colors and the stopping of errors that helps us a lot of work time.

  ### 10. All format

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 01, 2021

**What do you like best about Sublime Text?**

Supports all format and easy to use system. Coding can be done fluently

**What do you dislike about Sublime Text?**

I love all the features but waiting for further more new features

**What problems is Sublime Text solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Coding and viewing and writing in different format like csv, java, C, html etc...

  ### 11. Best cross platform code editor

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Krystian B. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 18, 2020

**What do you like best about Sublime Text?**

A huge array of programming languages supported, including PHP, swift, java, python, etc... My favorite tool is jump to matching bracket to keep my analysis bounded. I don't really program in sublime I prefer to use a full-fledged IDE for my code but is the best tool for when a coworker needs help. I just open whatever in sublime and I don't need to care about the language or size since sublime is able to handle it anyway.

**What do you dislike about Sublime Text?**

The keyboard shortcuts are slightly different in mac compared to windows and that is slightly annoying, not too much that I do something about it, and I guess it's Apple fault since they like to change standard shortcuts, but still it would be nice to have the same shortcuts everywhere

**Recommendations to others considering Sublime Text:**

It's free to use indefinitely but if you use it long enough, especially for work, pay the developer a licence, it's a great editor to use.

**What problems is Sublime Text solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Reading my coworkers and friend code without needing to create or open a project in my IDEs

  ### 12. Code editor with robust functions.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bhavik P. | Senior back-end developer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 02, 2020

**What do you like best about Sublime Text?**

SublimeText is particularly comprehensive since it's the very best tools to replace the source code, particularly for consumer and developer requests, it's multilingual support, which tends to make it quite powerful for the project we're likely to develop, it's configurable syntax, and additionally, it allows for to manipulate plugins. This can make it extremely flexible, almost everything may be handled based on various registers as well as teaching different colors, it's really helpful, particularly when you switch from one language of programming to the next without making the software, it supports its bug detection function, that enables you to perform your work more quickly.

**What do you dislike about Sublime Text?**

Nevertheless, it's complete and requires a preview and additional syntax managing wordpress plugin.

**Recommendations to others considering Sublime Text:**

I suggest to begin with something simple then check what plugins are out there for this editor, and also save the project of ours and configure the dialect for processing before running the project of ours.

**What problems is Sublime Text solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When we used this system to develop the project of ours, we focused on succeeding more powerful and harder to work with when changing from 1 programming language to a different, because this particular method allows us to handle better when we've a few tabs opened in the development of ours, wherever it's helpful to have syntax commands now marked with color as well as stop errors, saving us a great deal of time.

  ### 13. Best text editor so far

**Reviewed by:** Pawan K. | Software Technologist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 05, 2019

**What do you like best about Sublime Text?**

- Free to download and use.
- A simple interface and can be used to do the editing of data in multiple ways and has support for the usage of regular expression also.
- It doesn't require technical knowledge to use this tool and it can be used by anyone without having any technical degree or knowledge.

- Syntax auto-completion for support programming languages.
- Customizable where different plugins can be installed according to the need.
- Lightweight and fast to use.
- Powerful search feature.
- Multiple files can be displayed on multiple screens at the same time.

**What do you dislike about Sublime Text?**

- The addition of more themes etc. could be done to make it look more attractive. Feature-wise its really good.
- To use advanced features, some hands-on experience of sublime may be required so the beginners may not find it so user-friendly.
- As the sublime text has small team of developers maintaining it, so sometimes the development, bug fixes, new feature release can be slow.

**Recommendations to others considering Sublime Text:**

Investing sometime at the beginning on learning features of the sublime text can prove to give good returns while doing your work in future.

**What problems is Sublime Text solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- The editing of the data while analyzing data during data analysis.
- I found it very useful in cleaning data.
- Selecting the required data from a large amount of data using the search expressions or regular expressions is like a blessing for the developers.

  ### 18. Sublime Text review 2020

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anujeet S. | Custom Software Engineering Analyst, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 24, 2020

**What do you like best about Sublime Text?**

Sublime Text is one of the highly recommended text editor in the software development industry. The thing that makes Sublime Text popular is its clean sleek design, the interface is very lean with minimal add-ons like toolbars, buttons etc. Sublime Text is very fast and less resource consuming software. There are so many great themes available for sublime text, the text highlighting in the code is very clean. Sublime Text also has this distraction mode wherein all the UI and the OS interface are hidden and just the text are is visible. Sublime Text is free to use although you can spend some money to support the Sublime Text Dev team. The file organization is clean easy to switch between it. The UI is uniform across all the operating systems be it Windows, MacOS or Linux distros. There is a large variety of plugins and programming language support. Easy to customize every task and can set macros for it.

**What do you dislike about Sublime Text?**

The free version gives a regular notification to upgrade it to the paid version. The Sublime Text interface is very lightweight but when dealing with heavy software development my preference would be a full fledged IDE for their better code completion features. Configuring user settings can be difficult for a beginner as one has to go through all the system settings. Some plugins lacks good documentation.

**Recommendations to others considering Sublime Text:**

Sublime Text is very fast and light weight. It is a definite option for small to medium scale projects.

**What problems is Sublime Text solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sublime Text is my go to editor as it is very light weight and clean design. Majority of my usage is for competitive coding, it is easy to set quick shortcuts and require minimal use of mouse as one can only rely on keyboard. Most of the projects small to medium sized, i develop it on Sublime Text for faster processing and better code completion. The other alternative editors sometimes lag while opening large CSV datasets but sublime handles it smoothly. I have installed sublime text on my Windows as wall as in Manjaro linux, the UI is very uniform across various operating systems.

  ### 19. Sublime as editor and as a sticky note

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kasuma Y. | Software Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 06, 2020

**What do you like best about Sublime Text?**

This editor is free. However, doesn't mean it's cheap, it comes with a possibility where we can extend this with numerous plugins out there so that it matches up to your needs. I can prettify my JSON, XML or my programming code in there.
One thing that I like the most is, you can set it up as a note, open a new tab, write a note, close the editor, even shut down your computer, and when you come back, the note is still there. Very beneficial for a clumsy person like me who forget to save the document.
Sublime also provides a multi-tab, so you can have multiple files open in a single window which very convenient when you already have many windows open.

**What do you dislike about Sublime Text?**

In some occasions, I have to compare 2 JSON files, and sublime doesn't support side by side tab so that I have to switch between tabs. Alternatively, I have to pull the tab out as a separated window. My recommendation is if we can have multiple tabs side by side like 2 to 3 tabs that would be very beneficial for the user.

**What problems is Sublime Text solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sublime is very light where I use that on a daily basis as a note and for my code besides my main code editor. Sometimes I use it to write down my meeting note, my plan or paste any temporary text without worrying the app will occupy my RAM or CPU

  ### 20. Sublime Text a simple IDE for developers that gets the job done

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Daveed F. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 27, 2020

**What do you like best about Sublime Text?**

It takes low resources, and loads fast. Creating new projects is quick, and gets me going efficienctly. Availablity of a large number of community built add-ons such as Advanced Custom Fields shortcuts are invaluable. Easily customizable. I am able to create custom shortcaut and actions. When using sublime text I can can be up and running very quickly. With some other IDE they have to load so many resources I do not need for the task at hand. The autocomplete is excellent and always gets me what I need. Additionally it looks like the people working on sublime text are developers as improvements to functionality such as autocomplete. The cost is very reasonable and you can use it for free for an extended period of time to try it out.

**What do you dislike about Sublime Text?**

FTP integration requires an add-on. FTP integration requires a bit of fidgeting as it's not full intergarted. A list of all project not just recent ones would be helpful. I would like to see a connection of a server to a project be an option. Pre build adds on install would be good, to reduce the learning curve. I would like to see add-ons and frameworks integrated better within the core such as node.js, prettify code. The ability to update frameworks within ST would be helpful. Even if this would result in a higher cost, or a second tier of cost.

**Recommendations to others considering Sublime Text:**

Take a trial period, take the time to use the features such as Snippets and add-on to see that your workflow is improved. Like all software it has its quirks but once you get through that it's a wonderfull tool

**What problems is Sublime Text solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Resource heavy IDEs were a problem. With ST my programming workflow is more efficient in PHP, jacascript and CSS. My code is neater and easirt to read.

  ### 21. One of the best coding editor I have ever used

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** KARAN B. | Freelance Web Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 05, 2021

**What do you like best about Sublime Text?**

It's so smooth and fast. that makes our life easier while coding.

**What do you dislike about Sublime Text?**

Even after closing all the tabs and when we reopen it, all the tabs open at once.

**What problems is Sublime Text solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am using it for a long time and consider it one of the best editors so far.

  ### 22. Sublime lets me get things done!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Doug V. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 31, 2020

**What do you like best about Sublime Text?**

Easy to open from the Terminal. Allows me to preview a file without actually opening it. Easy to create new files or rename old ones.

**What do you dislike about Sublime Text?**

It is sometimes difficult to remember the keyboard shortcuts.
The method for adding new functionality is more challenging that I think it needs to be.

**Recommendations to others considering Sublime Text:**

Watch some videos and practice using some of the cooler and more useful features.
Also, refresh yourself on those same videos every so often.
It really comes in handy when you can do the thing you need to do rather than trying to remember how you did it last time.

**What problems is Sublime Text solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I write a lot of PHP code.
The PHP Code completion really helps.
Syntax and color coding is right on and saves me from trying to execute code that has errors.

  ### 23. Best text editor for quick script reading and script creation

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kloe W. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 14, 2020

**What do you like best about Sublime Text?**

I can open a 3GB file without worrying that the program will crash, as long as I have enough RAM available any text file will open nicely, even a big SQL database. Besides you can turn on or off the colors when reading code easily, sometimes I get annoyed at so much syntax highlighting and distracts me. It supports highlighting in any language I have tried so far. It also works as a note taking app since it really is a really good notepad.

**What do you dislike about Sublime Text?**

No downsides besides not being available in the MacOSX App Store but you can get it directly from its website without any issues.

**Recommendations to others considering Sublime Text:**

It's free to try indefinitely, but if you use it often just buy a copy, it's the nice thing to do

**What problems is Sublime Text solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Reading and creating text, code, etc... It's light and great overall

  ### 24. Love the text editor

**Recommendations to others considering Sublime Text:**

Advanced Text editor, customizable, power and friendly. No more places to look for.

**What problems is Sublime Text solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sublime Text is awesome. It is by far the best advanced text editor. You have lots of syntaxes available, plus you can download custom ones or even create yours. The theme customization also allows you to make it comfortable for your code marathons. As a Text editor it doesn’t have a compiler as an IDE, but it’s all right and very effective for front-end web development. It has cool features like multiline editing and, as mention, there are lots of packages to make it powerful and fully yours. It can open almost every file you feed it.
If you have to work on someone else’s machine, you have the portable version at the official web site, so you have a malware free option to move with you and keep your work as you want.
As a down, as for the time of this review, you can’t sync tied to an account. You can install the syncing package, but you must play with cloud services and the preferences file, rather that sign in; so, you must have something like dropbox for this to work.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Colleen T. | Classroom Tutor and Site Coordinator, Higher Education, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 27, 2020

**What do you like best about Sublime Text?**

It's a no-frills text editor and best of all - it's free. I enjoy the default black background. It's easy to use, highlights keywords depending on the file type you specify, and you can navigate across a few projects that show up as tabs at the top.

**What do you dislike about Sublime Text?**

There are no frills attached, so you are sort of limited in what you can do. I definitely enjoy other text-editors more (Text Wrangler, BBEdit, etc.), but it's easy and free to use. Can't really complain.

**What problems is Sublime Text solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I haven't recently encountered this problem, but I used to be bothered many times upon opening the application that I should purchase the deluxe version of Sublime Text. It's not too much of an issue since it is free, but it can be cumbersome to deal with. Also, your files just show up as tabs but it may be easier to navigate if your files were listed along the side or some alternative method that are not tabs. Tabs can appear "squished" and also not display the full file name if you have many tabs/files opened on Sublime Text.

  ### 45. Sublime Review

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 29, 2018

**What do you like best about Sublime Text?**

I really like the Sublime color scheme. The default color scheme enhances code readability: functions, variables, as well as comments are easily distinguishable, which makes scrolling through large scripts very easy. The overview pane on the side is very helpful too as it gives a general overview of large blocks of code.

**What do you dislike about Sublime Text?**

I dislike how there is no "tree" structure visual hierarchy. When working on a large project, it is sometimes hard to keep track of all the different types of files.

**What problems is Sublime Text solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Sublime to write my college coding assignments as well as in when working in professional settings.

**Reviewed Date:** June 24, 2020

**What do you like best about Sublime Text?**

Sublime Text is an excellent text editor that we can use as a development environment for Python. Its syntax highlighting, auto-completion and search features, among others, can perfectly meet the demands of any Python programmer. Unlike Atom, Sublime Text is proprietary software that can be evaluated for free. However, it requires the purchase of a license in case of continued use.

**What do you dislike about Sublime Text?**

There is nothing negative to say about Sublime Text, just note that customizing Sublime Text options can be a bit complicated since it has to be done by editing a text file in JSON format.

**What problems is Sublime Text solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It has helped us a lot as a framework to write code from different languages, on all those that are related to web content making the programming process much easier and with few distractions

**Reviewed by:** Tom S. | Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 24, 2020

**What do you like best about Sublime Text?**

I know this is just a basic function but I like being able to work within one folder and click on files to view them instantly. The color themes are also wonderful to have. Thanks to all the developers who have made the themes available. There are so many plugins and extensions that I know I have only scratched the surface.

**What do you dislike about Sublime Text?**

It's hard to find fault with this software. So far I have found that anything I dislike is something that can be changed. The only thing I haven't worked out how to change is the auto completion of tags has an extra lesser than sign in the front. I start typing <p and then the auto complete suggests "p <p>". When I then press enter is gives me this <<p></p>. The only way to avoid this is to press the down arrow first to select "<p> tag". Not a big deal, but still very annoying when I forget to do that.

**Recommendations to others considering Sublime Text:**

Get to know the documentation and there are practically no limits to what you can do as far as working with text.

**What problems is Sublime Text solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Sublime to edit css, html and php files. Search and replace in files is very useful. I am also learning other coding languages like Python or Bash scripting and can use Sublime Text for that.

It has a dark theme, which prevents my vision from getting tired.

I can use it in different operating systems, especially Windows and Linux.
