Using sublime text to run my codes saves a lot of time which is very beneficial. Also, While coding, there is no lagging as compared to other software. You can code in sublime text very smoothly, which does not affect your concentration.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Paresh K. | Junior Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 18, 2022

**What do you like best about Sublime Text?**

At the start, when I started coding, the UI felt very user-friendly and intuitive. It has got good color-coded combination which makes it more focused while coding.

**What do you dislike about Sublime Text?**

One small thing they could add is they could probably add a feature where in it recognizes the programming language automatically as soon as we open the project. They also change how we interact with plugins, as it feels a bit confusing initially.

**What problems is Sublime Text solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sublime text is an editor that makes it easy for us, the developers, to code in UI friendly environment with unique colours for each components like classes, objects, functions, etc

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

Sublime is pretty good, it's an upgrade from the simple notepad text editor. Sublime is a great app for beginners to start as it's very easy to learn your way around the app.

**What do you dislike about Sublime Text?**

Sublime is very basic, it doesn't auto finish words, you can't install extensions. You can run your code live - this is a very important feature to me. To run your code, you must open up the file and manually refresh the page each time you make an update.

**What problems is Sublime Text solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sublime allows us to easily share code between multiple developers with a great intergration with GitHub.

This has allowed us to spend more time working on the code rather than sharing the code between multiple people.

- Lot of support for plugins & extensions
- free to use
- themes

- text-based configuration for simple things
- plugins manager should be built-in and made simple in design
- Search and replace is too complex to understand for a user

-the right-side miniature view is entirely useless, at least in my experience
- No proper project management features

**What problems is Sublime Text solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Need a quick, lightweight text editor for managing notes and editing source code.

The shortcuts,auto-completion and snippets feature are one of the best features of sublime. Saves a lot of my time writing boilerplate code.

The toolbar visibility: It was accidentally turned off by me; there were no options visible to turn it back on. I had to google it to make it work. Also, sometimes the snippet feature won't work correctly.

**What problems is Sublime Text solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am pursuing a Bachelor of Technology with a specialisation in computer science. So I have to be quick with problem-solving using data structures. So I do the majority of my problem-solving on sublime.

Sometimes the code suggestion doesn't work as it is assumed to work. Installing plugins is a bit confusing and the most irritating part is its popup, which pops every time in a while asking for registration, making the overall user experience degrading.

**What problems is Sublime Text solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is my go-to editor for making light changes in code as it opens up faster than loading a full-fledged IDE. I have been using it since my college days back in 2015 for reviewing the HTML projects but now I mainly use it for reviewing short program codes.

**What do you like best about Sublime Text?**

Without a doubt, SublimeText is the most convenient and powerful text editor I've ever used for C++. It is essentially complete in terms of the features required for editing C++ code. **Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rahul S. | Marketing Specialist, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 01, 2022

**What do you like best about Sublime Text?**

There are several things that I like about Sublime Text. First is that it is a simple and lightweight application that can be used as a Text Editor or an IDE. It is best served for JS, TypeScript, and HTML. It also allows you to add plugins to better support Python. The syntax highlight feature comes in handy. They also have improved AutoComplete which suggests the code correctly. I use Sublime for mainly JS, HTML, and Python. It even lets you add a server and launch your web pages on the server directly from the IDE. This feature helps increase productivity a lot! There are tonnes of other features that make life easier.

**What do you dislike about Sublime Text?**

I don't dislike anything about Sublime Text but they can add in-build support for other languages as well. That would be helpful!

**What problems is Sublime Text solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sublime text lets me create simple applications that improve my productivity when working with clients. I am in the Marketing field so I create small web pages and applications that help me close the deals! I also use Sublime text as an editor as it is a good upgrade from Notepad. It also has dark and white mode so one can switch in between.

**Reviewed Date:** March 02, 2022

**What do you like best about Sublime Text?**

Earlier I used to use simple Notepad as my editor. I feel it isn't easy sometimes. When I started using Sublime Text, it's look and environment is good. I can easily open the file and write. If I forget to save the file. It automatically stores the info that I have written so far. It is easier to maintain my work and scripts, timelines etc.
It is even taking less space for installation too and free to use. That's really awesome.

**What do you dislike about Sublime Text?**

I think, there is no much dislikes. But, many times I see the popup saying to buy full version, this annoys me sometimes. It seems it has only few integrations. And I think there is no availability of giving intelligent keywords like giving suggestions while scripting like that.

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 21, 2022

**What do you like best about Sublime Text?**

The best feature of Sublime Text is the fact that it is a native application, not just yet another Electron based bloatware. It feels like a carefully crafted piece of software, which it is. It must be the main reason that there are so many plugins available for it, which allow you to speed up your work whether it's Python-based Machine Learning, JavaScript web development, programming microcontrollers in C, or writing live programs in Tidal Cycles. All this and everything in between.

There is not that much to dislike about Sublime Text. The fact that it is proprietary software means that the community can't really fix the issues, but only report them and wait for solution, might be my biggest issue.

**What problems is Sublime Text solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sublime Text is fast and it doesn't come in the way of my work, the way many other editors/IDEs do. Being able to keep pace with my output is the biggest benefit of Sublime Text.

  ### 49. My First choice Text Editor

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Raghav K. | Product Engineering Intern, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 01, 2022

**What do you like best about Sublime Text?**

Sublime Text has been my favourite text editor since a very long time. Best part about it is that it is very light weight and fast. I love to do my C++ stuff related to Engineering on Sublime Text only. Also, it's completely free to use. Besides this, there are a lot of themes to choose from and all of them are free. Also, above notepad, it shows the file directory that is open.

**What do you dislike about Sublime Text?**

Sublime Text is just a text editor. Thus, when I try to use it as an application to build all of my full fledged web applications, it is not that helpful. This is because it cannot give appropriate suggestions while writing the code. Also, it has no inbuilt compiler or even terminal for that matter. It is very difficult to switch to Command prompt after writing every program, in order to run that program.

**Recommendations to others considering Sublime Text:**

If you are planning to switch to Sublime Text from an IDE then it is going to be very hard for you to adjust. But if you are switching from a text editor then let me tell you that you just can't find a better text editor than Sublime Text

**What problems is Sublime Text solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Sublime Text to edit all of my text documents and some of my code files, specially XML and JSON files. I still write HTML and CSS in Sublime Text. Also, while doing any of my work that is related to solving problems in C++, I use sublime as my go to code editor.
