The ease of use of Studio One is amazing! With the addition of the new Sphere setup, Studio One is made even better for advanced and inexperienced users alike. The scratch pad is definitely one of the cooler features! Being able to "scratch out" ideas and not harm my original project gives me a huge advantage in my workflow. I really appreciate that I can strengthen my workflow in music all in one app. With the update of Studio One 5, you now have access to premade recording templates, which makes my recording process even easier! I wish that the Chat window was built into Studio One. It would be so cool to be able to chat in the window as I am recording and working with a collaborator. I could definitely benefit from a cleaner mixer view; I sometimes find myself getting lost or working on the wrong channel just because it's unclear which channel I have clicked on. I really wish that entire mixer channels would be colorized, instead of just the labels, this would make it so much easier to quickly see which channel I am currently on. Also, when I create a new project, Studio One auto creates a folder for it, this is kind of a pain, as I now have to remember my project by date, unless I have saved and created a new folder to save all files to. This usually creates duplicate files up to the time you saved the new folder. Help me save time on my hard drive by only creating a folder when I actually save the project. I like the drag and drop features. They make the workflow very intuitive. The macros make every thinkable shortcut possible, even if it involves complex processes.

The best thing about Studio One is that has tons of great tools built in to make it competitive technically, while being superior by far in budget. Allowing for advanced organization during utilitarian editing iterations, providing full video support and enough stock plugins to do most anything you need to efficiently, S1 covers a wide variety of needs in elegant ways. Mixer: Mixer window is top notch! You can add Murillo tracks at the same time without it looking all squeezed up. Adding colour combinations makes the whole mixer look amazing

Recording on the go: I use Studio one on my iPad and record many tracks on the go. I’ve used Garage band previously but it doesn’t come close to the abilities of studio one. Especially if you’ve got a person is audio-box there’s no stopping you.

I am an avid user of the sleek workflow and easy to use plugin bank. The color coding and general ease of layout are excellent. Also, when I track vocals, I truly love the grouping and folder function - it helps keep my workflow organized and easy to navigate. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The first thing I dislike is where the hot-keys are located. I have a tendency to activate certain hot keys while I use my QWERTY midi-keyboard. The bus/fx routing also takes a lot of CPU on my device, so I have to be careful with how much routing I do - which is a pain sometimes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

User-friendly interface: It just took me an hour to understand the basics of the DAW. Looks like a complex system, but once you get it, you seriously get it!!

Built-in Melodyne: Melodyne is just ctrl+M. Best for people who do a lot with vocal tuning.

Event FX: Drag and drop function, you select any effect and add it to your channel.

Stock Plugins: The stock plugins, are too good especially if you get Studio one 3 or 4 for free along with a Presonus product.

The Fat channel plugin is an amazing all-in-one option for beginners as well as professionals who want to EQ, compressor, etc.

We're coming to a time where basically every DAW on the market has added features for many editions, covering whatever people are missing and what the competition is doing. If a feature is missing, you can be damn certain that a gang of VSTs will be waiting to surround you, punch you lifeless, take your money and fill the void. So for a review to be worthwhile, the most important features unique to this DAW must be put to light. The workflow here is incredible, key commands are easy to learn and quick to customize and I can put down drum machine beats through the keyboard or Maschine or midi controller lightning fast. The way you can split these bars with the "grid" feature is stupid rad if you make hip hop. Also, it almost never crashes. I don't have to bounce my tracks very much, even with nice plugin chains (at 32 RAM which is ok). even latency when playing guitar is minimal here. External sound card dropped in the mix and you can just go home and pee your pants, bro.

also this might sound extremely pleb but idc - the colors are bright and easy to navigate. I literally chose this DAW when I didn't know anything about production because it had the prettiest colors (Studio one 3). they get even prettier with each edition. IDK how!! At first, the workflow...each successive update moved further and further away from user friendly to studio user only friendly.

Excellent at creating midi to control external midi devices and external instruments.

BUT IT SUCKS BECAUSE YOU CAN NOT EXPORT THAT MIDI WITH STEMS OR A MIXDOWN...so you have to RE REWRITE the midi every time you use the song. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

There's a lot of useful shortcuts compared to other programs, which made a much faster workflow which is usually a big bonus if you're a busy producer/engineer. The Aux channel feature for hardware makes things streamline and easy to integrate. The mix recall feature is great as you can have 2 drum mixes and just switch between to instantly hear the difference! There's a mono button to check your mix from stereo which I liked a lot. I disliked that it was a bit overwhelming to use to begin with. It's quite a bit more technical than what I'm used to which for some people is helpful but I usually like more simpler layouts. I didn't have enough time to fully get used to it in the trial period. The older versions didn't stand out to me aesthetically (colours etc). Not many tutorials out there yet compared to other DAWS. I can produce records from scratch, mix and master in Presonus S5, and the sound engine is very high quality. And I can throw a truckload of VST's at it and Studio One eats them all up and the drag and drop features are what brought me over from Pro Tools.
