## StrongDM Reviews
  ### 1. Effortless Access Management with Strong Documentation

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 19, 2024

**What do you like best about StrongDM?**

I like StrongDM's well-documented setup, which makes it easy to embed into existing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) infrastructure. I appreciate the strong support for automation and IaC-based provisioning, which simplifies the management of resources. The good logging and audit capabilities are helpful to fulfill audit and compliance requirements. Additionally, the support for nearly all modern resource types needed in a typical workflow is impressive. I find it relatively easy to set up, considering the number of things that need to be tuned.

**What do you dislike about StrongDM?**

Access to some AWS native resources like S3 buckets where each resource should be provisioned separately, would be great if it could be done similarly with tag based access like for other resource types.

**What problems is StrongDM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use StrongDM for cloud-native access management. It solves provisioning and resource discovery, automatically maps resource access to teams and users, and is convenient locally. It embeds into existing IaC infrastructure, fulfills audit requirements, and supports modern resource types with good logging and audit capabilities.

  ### 2. Simplified Secure Access with Audit-Ready Reporting

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 22, 2026

**What do you like best about StrongDM?**

StrongDM makes access management simple and secure across databases, servers, and cloud tools. The setup process was straightforward, and onboarding has been smooth for both admins and developers. I also appreciate the centralized audit logs and fine-grained access controls, which save a lot of time and make it easier to manage permissions consistently. Overall, it feels like a reliable, scalable tool for modern teams.

**What do you dislike about StrongDM?**

SDM is not supported Azure Databricks onboarding with Entra Redirect and Login which is pure need for fintech services. Also the Azure storage account we are not also able to on board onto SDM.

If this is implemented then for fintech is a game changer.

**What problems is StrongDM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

StrongDM effectively solves access management challenges for our critical fintech production data. The lightweight, user-friendly local client makes development seamless—installation is simple, and connecting to resources via host and dynamic port is effortless. Audit-ready reporting provides clear visibility into who accessed what and when, along with structured access revocation workflows. Overall, it’s a secure, reliable, and developer-friendly solution.

  ### 3. Effortless Setup, Exceptional Support, and Robust Features

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 21, 2025

**What do you like best about StrongDM?**

I love StrongDM for its ease of use. Setting it up and configuring it was straightforward, and maintaining it has been easy too. The support team is first-class every time we've needed them, so we didn't have to hire a new resource to manage StrongDM. Instead, we integrated it into our workflows easily and quickly. The product is intuitive, making it easy for most users to learn how to use without issues. We only have one page of internal documentation, which answers almost all questions. I also like the admin workflows, which can be as simple or complex as needed. For critical workflows, we added PagerDuty alerting, ensuring timely actions. It was very easy to set up workflows according to our team’s requirements. Additionally, onboarding with StrongDM was one of the fastest vendor onboardings I've experienced, thanks to their helpful staff and the ability to automate adding resources, which significantly reduced overhead. The StrongDM employees and support staff are friendly and genuinely helpful, and it did pretty much everything we needed out of the box.

**What do you dislike about StrongDM?**

One thing StrongDM doesn't handle right now is credential rotation. We have the option to store secrets in a variety of secrets managers, including Azure Key Vault and other similar secrets managers, but there's no way to rotate a secret within systems like Active Directory or EntraID. We've had to manually rotate passwords and update secret stores or vaults, which we prefer to automate, especially with compliance requirements about rotation periods for secrets and passwords.

**What problems is StrongDM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

StrongDM provides secure remote access and simplifies user management with federated identity and SSO, ensuring compliance and enabling engineers to engage with production environments effectively.

  ### 4. Essential Access Control with Stellar Support

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amine M. | Senior Cloud Security Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 27, 2026

**What do you like best about StrongDM?**

I like the great documentation and responsive support from StrongDM. The tool itself solves a big problem for us by providing control over data store access. I appreciate having a tool that values support and long-term relationships, which is important as we intend to spread the use of the technology widely. The initial setup was also easy.

**What do you dislike about StrongDM?**

I find the UI could be more intuitive and visually appealing. A better user experience for the desktop app would be great. Adding features like a list and grid view, a dark mode view, and icons related to the type of resource to access would make it nicer.

**What problems is StrongDM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use StrongDM to provision access control for AWS data stores, providing a unified access point for engineers. It gives us control over data stores access, backed by great documentation and responsive support.

  ### 5. Effortless Deployment with Strong Security Controls

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sam J. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 05, 2026

**What do you like best about StrongDM?**

I like how StrongDM helps us securely manage and control access to critical infrastructures like databases and servers. It enforces least-privilege access, eliminates shared credentials, and provides centralized auditing and visibility. I appreciate that the deployment cycle is short and pretty straightforward. The architecture is non-complicated, and it reduces dependency on servers. The initial setup was very easy.

**What do you dislike about StrongDM?**

Operationalizing StrongDM can be improved. We need to have accelerators to streamline the operational processes.

**What problems is StrongDM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use StrongDM to securely manage and control access to critical infrastructures, enforce least-privilege access, and eliminate shared credentials while providing centralized auditing and visibility. It addresses standing privileges, high license costs from competitors, and offers easy deployment.

  ### 6. Enhances Security with Seamless Access Management

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 20, 2025

**What do you like best about StrongDM?**

I find StrongDM incredibly valuable for resource discovery and managing access within our organization. The software significantly enhances our security by ensuring each access to resources is meticulously audited and tracked. This level of security helps us stand confidently with compliance auditing requirements. Additionally, StrongDM provides a better understanding of our Google Cloud Platform (GCP) infrastructure, which has been extremely beneficial in maintaining efficient operations and ensuring that our team has just-in-time access to necessary resources. The ease of managing access and the clarity provided by the compliance audit reports streamline our workflow. Overall, StrongDM's role in improving security makes it a crucial component of our infrastructure management.

**What do you dislike about StrongDM?**

I find it frustrating that StrongDM currently does not have the feature to pull HR information directly from the HR system and relies on Okta. This would be more efficient and make StrongDM a more reliable source of truth regarding employment information. Additionally, the RBAC binding process for cluster management is a manual task, and I would appreciate an automated option that allows people to request to be added to groups through StrongDM, especially for specific namespaces. The initial setup posed challenges, mainly due to networking and firewall rules.

**What problems is StrongDM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use StrongDM to manage access to our GCP infrastructure, providing JIT access, compliance audit reports, and improving our organization's security by auditing and tracking each resource access.

  ### 7. StrongDM Streamlines Security Without the Hassle

**What do you dislike about StrongDM?**

Sometimes the admin portal can be a bit slow to load, but aside from that, my overall experience has been very positive.

**What problems is StrongDM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

StrongDM solves the challenge of securely connecting to private infrastructure without the need to manage multiple VPNs, SSH keys, or complex access workflows. It centralizes and simplifies access management, making it easy for me to connect to databases, servers, and other resources from my local machine. This not only improves productivity but also ensures data security and compliance by giving fine-grained control over who can access what. Overall, it saves time, reduces administrative overhead, and provides peace of mind that access is both secure and seamless

I find StrongDM very easy to use and user-friendly. It allows our team members to log in to servers without having to leverage their personal accounts, providing a secure way to access our servers. I'm a user of StrongDM which my company set up for us. Simplicity of mapping remote ports/servers to local port, easy to ssh and connect to databases. It's been stable and I almost don't notice it's there. Customer support responds quickly and patiently helped me solve my problem.

**What do you dislike about StrongDM?**

Nothing for now, it's been working great.

**What problems is StrongDM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I no longer need to keep track of the url and port of a hundred remote servers, databases and machines.

  ### 11. best possible support for every question

StrongDM is incredibly easy to use, with a clean interface that makes managing access straightforward even for non-technical users. What stands out most is their excellent after-sales support—responsive, knowledgeable, and always willing to go the extra mile to help. The auditing is great as you can see graphically what commands where run etc

There’s not much to dislike. overall a great product but maybe more advanced filtering or search capabilities to better parse logs

**What problems is StrongDM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

StrongDM solves the challenge of managing secure access to infrastructure across a growing number of systems—servers, databases, and Kubernetes clusters—without relying on clunky VPNs or shared credentials

  ### 14. Great software and support team

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 10, 2025

**What do you like best about StrongDM?**

I am integrating ServiceNow with StrongDM in a Sandbox environment at the moment. I have had to utilize StrongDM documentation and guides to do this implementation and it is very easy to follow. On top of that their support team is great to work with. I worked with Alin and he was always extremely quick to respond, very knowledgeable, and willing to hop on a call.

**What do you dislike about StrongDM?**

I cannot think of something I dislike! Honestly maybe the support ticket response could be a little prettier but that is also challenging with different web clients.

**What do you like best about StrongDM?**

What I like best about StrongDM is how it makes managing and securing access to servers, and Kubernetes clusters so easy.
The user interface is straightforward, and the audit logging feature is great for keeping track of user activity.
And the customer support toemphasize, very prompt, clear responses and followups.

**What do you dislike about StrongDM?**

One thing i felt the initial setup and configuration can be somewhat time-consuming if you're not familiar with similar tools, but that's not really an issue as we have their uncomplicated and clear documentation to go through.

**What problems is StrongDM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's solving the main problem of secure and efficient access management to databases, servers, and k8s clusters. Also centralizing access control in their dashboard eliminating the need for managing user, credentials and permissions separately.

  ### 18. Easy Privileged Access Management with StrongDM

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 17, 2024

**What do you like best about StrongDM?**

StrongDM has helped us simplify the process of managing access to our database and server. We have been able to establish this across different environmets easily. The robust access control features that allow us to manage permissions seamlessly across our team have been a very useful implementation. The support has been very helpful and quick when needed and for the additional feature requests there has been a good turnaround time compared to other vendors. All this has helped us use StrongDM on a daily basis with no hassle.

**What do you dislike about StrongDM?**

The initial setup could be hectic and complex, but the team at StrongDM will help as much as possible with the set up. Once we have a good working knowledge of the application, we should be able to use it with ease.

**What problems is StrongDM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use it mainly for the Privileged Access Management for our servers and databases and has helped greatly with achieving the compliance standards we strive to achieve.

  ### 19. StrongDM as a single proxy secure layer for all our critical workloads.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Raj B. | Lead Site Reliability Engineer(SRE), Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 04, 2024

**What do you like best about StrongDM?**

Ease of integration and managing the RBAC in the system is a piece of cake, definig roles and creating ACL's specific to our usecases were always starighforward and the integration with SSO tools. Many features for automating the usecases and onbarding the dataspurces using terraform modules.

**What do you dislike about StrongDM?**

There are times when the Gateways and the ACL's didnlt reflect newer changes soon but the UI has developed a lot comapred to the first few versions, some of the logging policies can change if people want to move away from the syslog storage in the gateway servers.

**What problems is StrongDM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

StrongDM provided us a way to implement an automated datasource onbaording and also implement a robust RBAC and priviliged Access management mechanism using best practices. We have multiple AWS accounts with multiple datasources like EKS, RDS, EC2 etc..., The case to use a datasource with out password and user credentials was centralized for all resources which saved us a lot of management overhead and also the case to rotate and secure the credentials often.

  ### 20. An excellent tool to fulfill your JIT access needs

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 24, 2024

**What do you like best about StrongDM?**

StrongDMs ease of use is one of its best features. Getting start takes only a few minutes and defining access workflows and onboarding users is a breeze. We were able to integrate StrongDM into our existing infrastructure in under an hour. The SSH replay and DB query auditing are top notch and helps give us confidence that we know what is being done with privileged access when it is granted.

When we had a few questions about how to accomplish certain tasks within StrongDM, their support was quick to respond and helpful. In cases where a functionality wasn't available they logged a feature request for us so that the development team would consider it for the future.

**What do you dislike about StrongDM?**

We haven't encountered any real downsides to StrongDM as of yet. The only thing that it lacks which we would love to have is a multi-level approval workflow that'd require multiple people to approve access. Based on discussions with their team this is on their roadmap and at the current time we could accomplish it if we had a ServiceNow integration. Beyond that though, StrongDM has everything we need to satisfy our use case and we're very pleased with the tool.

**What problems is StrongDM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

StrongDM is solving the just-in-time access problem for us with full auditing of what is done in those access sessions. It helps give us confidence about what is being done and by who in addition to scoping access to only small windows of time.

  ### 21. Review the SteongDM

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 16, 2024

I am a new user of the application and so far there isn't anything I dislike about the application.

Additional modular layer for easy server access control and management.

Easy connections to difference networks and cloud without change of network connection.
Fast response from support team.

**What do you dislike about StrongDM?**

Too frequent version updates at least not too relevant to me.

**What problems is StrongDM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Unified server access control and management

  ### 23. One of the only Enterprise tools I keep coming back too

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 09, 2024

**What do you like best about StrongDM?**

StrongDM is the tool to make my job easier, and I use it everyday. Granting access for others to use potentially sensitive systems couldn't be simpler.

**What do you dislike about StrongDM?**

Initial sticker shock is bound to hit you for pricing, but it does make up for it in having to spend way less time supporting just in time access patterns for sensitive systems.

**What problems is StrongDM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For compliance reasons, having temporary access with required approvals as well as full logs of what transpired during the sessions, all wrapped in a simple to use system. What more could you ask for.

  ### 24. A mature solution for dynamic access control.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sergiy P. | VP of Engineering, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 06, 2024

**What do you like best about StrongDM?**

StrongDM supports the richest set of connectivity protocols covering all your infrastructure.

Credentials broker feature allows to manage service credentials without affecting end users' access.
Ease of implementing role based access and improve least privilege posture.
Extensive logging capabilities will assist with your security audits and investigations.
Their customer support is knowledgeable and responsive.

**What do you dislike about StrongDM?**

The product is not cheap. Though it is worth the investment.
I am looking for better capabilities of extracting audit data out of the StrongDM platform.

**What problems is StrongDM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Implementation of the centralizes access management covering all corporate infrastructure.

  ### 25. A+ Software, A Must When Security Is Paramount But Users Need Access!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anthony C. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 11, 2023

**What do you like best about StrongDM?**

In Kubernetes, it makes switching between contexts, providing access (both role-based and temporary), and configuring your local kube config so seamless and so easy, it is actually painless. We handle dozens of environments and hundreds of datasources, and by leveraging their sdm CLI util, macbook app, and SDK, we are able to provision and maintain it all, with little-to-no issues. We use it multiple times a day and our dev teams use it multiple times an hour. Great customer service with timely, insightful responses. It was fairly easy to integrate into our existing infra.

**What do you dislike about StrongDM?**

Would not say 'dislike' persay, but there is functionality we are waiting to see included in the sdm CLI to make managing some of the admin resources a bit easier. There is also an odd bug involving incorrect ports/local ports *sticking* to some datasources in the SDM macbook client app. Easy enough to workaround, though. It is a rare occurence.

**What problems is StrongDM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Maintaining and provisioning hundreds of users and thousands of datasources in an organized, secure, and easy-to-use manner.

  ### 26. Feature velocity is picking up!

Overall, I'm really excited about what SDM will look like in 2025

**What do you dislike about StrongDM?**

Lack of deep integration with GCP console and other resources

**What problems is StrongDM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

JIT access to resources. Session recording. Audit logs.

  ### 27. It is really very cool and important PAM software.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dhruv D. | DevOps Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 30, 2024

**What do you like best about StrongDM?**

UI and the way they put all minimal things describe in their documentation.

**What do you dislike about StrongDM?**

They have to improve StrongDM app. some time it is run in background app and was not open in display.

**What problems is StrongDM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We can easly find who is using that perticular resources, so we can easly find if any issue occure.

  ### 28. Can't stop using it

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amit A. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 06, 2024

**What do you like best about StrongDM?**

The power of SDM is the simplictly it brings to a simple day to day tasks.
The idea that protected cloud resources are just apporachable directly for every team member, directly from his workstation is irreplaceable.
The frequency of use is - always. every developer or product member uses it all the time.
The customer support is really cool with very good SLA.
The integration with the environment and the implementation was really easy, just created an EC2, installed SDM and received immideit value.

**What do you dislike about StrongDM?**

little bit expensive. SDM is really cool and integrates very well with various of resources but I think that it can be little bit cheaper.
running it from github actions isn't always working.

**What problems is StrongDM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Actually both.
I don't need to manage credentials.
SDM allows me to control private resources directly from Okta's SCIM

  ### 29. Senior Devops Engineer

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Seyamak S. | Senior Devops Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 19, 2024

**What do you like best about StrongDM?**

Auditing features are very clear. It is also easy to implement the product once you read about it in the document section. The Customer support is superb.

**What do you dislike about StrongDM?**

Not much to dislike. There are many features.

**What problems is StrongDM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps identify who has logged into our systems and what commands they use.

  ### 30. Great support

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Automotive | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 24, 2024

**What do you like best about StrongDM?**

Very helpful support. They are quick to reply, friendly, and understanding.

**What do you dislike about StrongDM?**

It's extra friction getting access to the database. However, its purpose is to add an extra layer of security, so it's serving its purpose.

**What problems is StrongDM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Since our company works remotely, security is very important. Having StrongDM does help not put all of the security responsible on the individual user.

  ### 31. Straightforward & easy to deploy.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Real Estate | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 30, 2023

**What do you like best about StrongDM?**

Purchasing StrongDM is as easy as implementing it. Transparent pricing and ease of purchase makes this more appealing than all other "enterprise" PAM out there. -- It does access control and logging while allowing our developers to use their own favorite tools. Something that can't be said for all other PAMs we have explored.

We requested a minor feature to make StrongDM work in our envrionment. We waited about a month or so to get this feature shipped!

**What do you dislike about StrongDM?**

A more granular permission system & connectivity configuration would be nice. Low-level error messages should be sent to StrongDM instead of forcing sysadmins to SSH into relays. Advanced log (e.g. ship logs to S3) costs extra. Additional scripting is required to get everything archived in S3.

**What problems is StrongDM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We need PAM. We need IAM. But our developers need privileged access using their own favorite tool. Yes, we are more productive and are more secure thanks to StrongDM

  ### 32. Flexible and easy to deployment product. Easy to use and deployment easy to understand the platform.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chakon P. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 20, 2023

**What do you like best about StrongDM?**

Easy deployment. Flexible platform compatible with multiple platforms such as cloud, Infrastructure Network Website, and Servers. StrongDM deployment is far easier compared to the competitor in the market.

**What do you dislike about StrongDM?**

There some a lot of limitations on the platform, but the easy deployment made it good for DAM & PAM platform. StrongDM will be better if they have some audit user type and role based access control.

**What problems is StrongDM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Control the user and auditing what they using the resource and our assets.

  ### 33. Great StrongDM Experience

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 21, 2022

**What do you like best about StrongDM?**

Constant engagement with the product, engineers are thrilled at the ease of the tool. Onboarding has become much easier with our engineering team.

**What do you dislike about StrongDM?**

The UI in the app can be challenging at first, but usage is the key to understanding the products' ins and outs

**What problems is StrongDM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our company was using outdated technology and paying for another vendor to provide access control to our resources. We were able to decommission those tools in trade for strongdm, which ended up having so much more benefit-wise.

  ### 34. Modern and simple private access solution

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 11, 2024

**What do you like best about StrongDM?**

Modern and simple design. Working as expected.

**What do you dislike about StrongDM?**

Unfortunately I encountered a small bug that caused the same device to be registered twice for MFA breaking MFA entirely.

**What problems is StrongDM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Accessing protected infrastructure of a customer.

  ### 35. Secure, simple & compliant way to provide access to all teams

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 06, 2023

**What do you like best about StrongDM?**

Provides a way to give access to engineers without the messy password, vpn etc
Provides a way to secure the infra & have audit trail on who does what
Provides options to use workflows for seamless integration via Slack

**What do you dislike about StrongDM?**

Would love to see more of the workflow features be part of the service, not add ones maintained by customers
Would love to get more granular access where we can audit SQL queries that are run per engineer

**What problems is StrongDM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ability to provide engineers a secure & compliant way to access data without sharing passwords or network loopholes - definitely improves productivity in resolving issues seen by customers.

  ### 36. StrongDM, smooth and safe access

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aashish K. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 25, 2023

**What do you like best about StrongDM?**

It works seamlessly just install and forget.

**What do you dislike about StrongDM?**

Not found any issues yet. There is nothing to dislike

**What problems is StrongDM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

manages and audits access to databases, servers, clusters, and web apps

  ### 37. SDM support is excellent

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** John B. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 13, 2023

**What do you like best about StrongDM?**

Quick response to reported issues good work

**What do you dislike about StrongDM?**

online documentation hard or cannot find needed answers

**What problems is StrongDM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

odd issues pop up from time to time

  ### 38. One stop shop for access management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Christopher G. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 06, 2023

**What do you like best about StrongDM?**

StrongDM provides a transparent view of user access. Giving us logs for every user action through StrongDM and just-in-access to those resources.

**What do you dislike about StrongDM?**

Honestly, so far nothing. It's really difficult to come up with something to dislike about it.

**What problems is StrongDM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We had a VPN however there was no insight into any user activity at the access level. StrongDM allowed us to not only remove our VPN but gave us more insight into user activity for those resources. It also made onboarding significantly easier because all system access is through StrongDM.

  ### 39. Powerful, excellent, does one thing extremely well.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 31, 2023

**What do you like best about StrongDM?**

Gives me secure access fast, when I need it.

**What do you dislike about StrongDM?**

The menu bar UI is a *little* weird and non-traditional.

**What problems is StrongDM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Accessing production servers safely.

  ### 40. Audit and Admin features make strongDM a valuable tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Steve F. | Systems Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 31, 2023

**What do you like best about StrongDM?**

strongDM's features around audit and observability make it invaluable to our team. Features like SSH session replays, audit logs, and time-based permissions are core to our use case and simply weren't offered by other products.

**What do you dislike about StrongDM?**

strongDM could further simplify their user experience within the admin application. Recent redesigns have been helpful but haven't fully addressed the issue. Nagging client application connectivity issues can sometimes be a bit annoying.

**What problems is StrongDM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

strongDM allows our team to provision time-based and auditable access to critical production resources. It allows us to simplify resource configuration and automate the creation and management of those resources.

  ### 41. StrongDM just works!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gerry L. | Infrastructure Engineering Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 30, 2022

**What do you like best about StrongDM?**

The management of the system is so simple and easy. It's no burden at all to manage because every from installation to maintenance is a breeze. And their support is the best I've ever worked with. I always tell everyone the same thing...if something is wrong, there will be 4 StrongDM engineers on a zoom call with you within 5 minutes to help troubleshoot. Everytime something was wrong, it ended up being our own misunderstanding or network misconfiguration....StrongDM is rock solid!

They have also taken our feedback very serious and worked aggressively to add features to their product that we asked for (within reason).

**What do you dislike about StrongDM?**

Nothing. Seriously. I truly have nothing bad to say about StrongDM.

**What problems is StrongDM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

StrongDM takes away the burden of having to manage a VPN. IT's also safer than a VPC since it links users directly to endpoints, instead of allowing users to enter an entire network. They also provide a great audit trail about what users do, once connected to resources. This makes compliance reporting much easier to generate.

  ### 42. StrongDM's commitment to quality

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Leon J. | Engineering Manager, SRE, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 26, 2023

**What do you like best about StrongDM?**

StrongDM is committed to delivering a great product and pairing with us to ensure that the product is the correct solution for us. While I can't speak to their competition, I can say that their willingness to improve their products based on feedback sets them apart from the rest.

**What do you dislike about StrongDM?**

I want more metrics on user logins and a more accessible audit trail so that I may better understand how our engineering are accessing resources.

**What problems is StrongDM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

StrongDM allows us to sync Okta roles to AWS IAM roles without having to assign permissions statically.

  ### 43. Access to resources in single click!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Public Relations and Communications | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 19, 2023

**What do you like best about StrongDM?**

StrongDM helped to mitigate old solutions using VPN and right now all of our engineers can connect to the resources in just one click! It is super easy to setup new resource.

**What do you dislike about StrongDM?**

You need to create as any resource as access levels to them, so it complicates a lot, as you would like to have one single resource configured with x access levels, you need to create x times resources.

**What problems is StrongDM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Stopping using legacy VPN client and having least-privileges approach.

  ### 44. Access Management Done Right

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Automotive | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 13, 2023

**What do you like best about StrongDM?**

StrongDM gives you access a large suite of tools to provide access to seemlessly. This is true across StrongDM whether you're using the UI console or automating it end to end using Terraform.

**What do you dislike about StrongDM?**

So far I can't name anything I dislike. The support team is quick to respond and handle issue, but truely we've not found anything yet to complain about as it covers all of our requirements and then some.

**What problems is StrongDM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Generally speaking we now have a workflow to providing access across all variants of enviorments from development to production with great auditing when coming so you always feel confident that you know what the access is being given and how it used. Outside of this the capabilities such as accessbot extend what is already a great tool.

  ### 45. StrongDM is a great way to access your production databases

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 18, 2022

**What do you like best about StrongDM?**

It's a super convenient way for the whole team to access our production databases. Granting access is easy, and thanks to the ability of strongdm to log all the queries, we can confidently give access to more people. This means we can have more people involved. Thus, senior people, traditionally with higher privileges and database accesses, don't have to do all the small tasks that require those access anymore.

**What do you dislike about StrongDM?**

There is nothing I especially dislike about strongdm. I like the product as it is now, and they are making improvements regularly.

**What problems is StrongDM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The main problems strongdm is solving for us are:
- granting access to our production database to everyone that might need it in the company
- being able to audit all the queries that have been run in production

  ### 46. SDM is great, it just works!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mischa F. | Systems Administrator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 28, 2022

**What do you like best about StrongDM?**

We like that StrongDM is simple to use for admins and end users. For the most part, we don't notice SDM is there, which is exactly what we want. Users that were initially skeptical have been impressed and prefer StrongDM to the old way of doing things.

**What do you dislike about StrongDM?**

There's not much we dislike, overall its great. The 2 features that could use some more attention are the websites and RDP, not what we purchased SDM for though.

**What problems is StrongDM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our primary focus was secure, revokable and short lived ssh access to resources. No more sprawling SSH keys, and database access is a lot easier and more secure.

  ### 47. Amazing product with a great team

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 08, 2022

**What do you like best about StrongDM?**

strongDM's product is extremely intuitive and powerful. We use it to manage remote access to customer sites; auditing and RBAC are crucial for our use case, and these features are baked right into the product and are easy to use. We can set up approval workflows using AccessBot's native features or custom workflows using the API. Everyone at the company that we've worked with -- Sales, Customer Success, and Support -- is passionate about the product and great to work with. I would recommend strongDM, both as a product and a company, to anyone looking to secure access to their infrastructure.

**What do you dislike about StrongDM?**

Currently, strongDM is a SaaS-only offering. While I prefer the SaaS offering since it greatly simplifies the architecture on our end, we have some customers requesting that we run an on-prem solution. This is currently in the works on their side but not available yet. While competing products offer on-prem solutions, strongDM's product is vastly superior, so switching to a competing on-prem solution would be a last resort.

**What problems is StrongDM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

strongDM gives us secure remote access to customer environments while providing auditing and RBAC.

  ### 48. Great product and great people

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Entertainment | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 16, 2022

**What do you like best about StrongDM?**

strongDM gave us access control and visibility for our most critical data for the first time. Legacy OS and database versions were already supported or custom-built for us - the architecture of the tech makes deployment far easier than agent deployment/ maintenance on all scoped resources and RBAC enabled us to bring ownership of IAM to critical data from to our IDM team from DBAs. I like SDM's play to expand PAM to all access control because why not - puts us on the path to password-less/ zero trust. The friendly, quick, and knowledgable overall support from their support org is world-class.

**What do you dislike about StrongDM?**

I'd like to see a cloud-based/ SASE play to offload gateway/ relay management from the customer.

IdPs like Okta are acquiring/building similar access control tech and it could entice large enterprises to use that tech for financial and tech consolidation/ simplification reasons.

**What problems is StrongDM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Bringing modern security practice to legacy infrastructure, centralizing access to a hybrid environment, investing time/money/people to make sure customers are actually successful with implementation

  ### 49. StrongDM - great solution with simple rollout

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shelley D. | Big Data SW Program leader, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 19, 2022

**What do you like best about StrongDM?**

Onboarding and rollout were so quick. We onboarded over 300 employees in just one week.

**What do you dislike about StrongDM?**

Nothing major to consider as a disadvantage. We've managed to overcome every challenge with the StrongDM team eager to assist.

**What problems is StrongDM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Per audit requirements, we were forced to manage and control users' access to production systems. StrongDM offers an easy way to do it.

  ### 50. Incredible product with an incredible team behind it!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Sports | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 12, 2022

**What do you like best about StrongDM?**

When we started evaluating access control tools, strongDM quickly became our top choice because of the tool's maturity, and we felt like the capabilities were unmatched when compared with alternatives. As a result, we hit our access control and monitoring goals in half the time we estimated initially!

**What do you dislike about StrongDM?**

It can be a single point of failure, but despite the tool being stable, strongDM is very open about planning for redundancy and having a contingency plan. We also ran across some bugs with additional tools provided by strongDM during our implementation, but they were incredibly receptive and quick regarding fixes!

**What problems is StrongDM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Right now, we have several concerns about access and controls since we're part of a fully remote company. StrongDM helps give us a lot of piece of mind and allows us to regulate and introspect access to our critical systems deeply.
