i am user the mstr developer tool. it ease the process of creating reports. it give me a chance to create complex reports and save my time when i compare to use sql.

it can be faster. i understand complex reports require serios time but still sometimes waiting for report can be intimidating.

I dislike pixel perfect, they need some improvement on this module.

For developers getting started it can be difficult to get hands on with the nuts and bolts of the product. Express editions with sql server and oracle are a good model

The ROLAP features are very powerful, especially if you've built your database right

building dashboards can be time consuming.  fine-tuning some of the settings can be frustrating, as some of the settings are not as intuitive as I think they could be.

have a number of dashboards (both RSDs and Dossiers) that we use to present data to the business.  We use these for managing various aspects of our vendor relationships.

The visualizations and data analytics are lacking but the latest updates may change that.

Primarily we are using MSTR to house data and we extract it for analytics outside because of the limitations we have through the web portal. Hopefully the latest updates or access (based on IT) to the desktop platform would resolve that.

Cloud functionality, mobile, transactional(writeback) dossiers, documents, a number of the new features in 2020 really push this over the edge, like freeform canvas, and the additions to workstation.

It's not the most attractive tool always, but there are strides being made, and there's always the SDK if you want to build your own

Being able to visual Teradata database metrics for management to help identify problems. Dossiers offer a lot of information in a consumable fashion, even when working with millions of records

MicroStrategy has the robust platform architecture which no other tool in the market has . Its security layer is so granular that it is good for any enterprise and control each and every click that users do. Good for pixel perfect reporting and RSD.

Little lagging in Visualizations. Probably adding few more visualization would help bringing more business users

Document mode can have a difficult learning curve.  Bugs sometimes are sometimes present which causes difficulty of development.

I like the fact that MSTR is easy to use and run from the web interface, especially for our business users with non-IT background. 

The new 2020 version looks impressive and Dossier is another great application.

Pixel perfect is annoying thing. Takes too long developing.

The timeout issues in MSTR are unlike me. Where the session is changed if the web browser stays inactive for 20 minutes.

Having used a different program (Tableau) I wish we had a shared library, and Parameters built into dossiers

Data mining and data analysis is easier for sure.
The ability to work with larger amounts of data in a poweruser friendly interface.

I would like MicroStrategy to be partnering with Google Cloud as most of our data is in there. There are also couple of things like the Writeback functionality in Google cloud

It's a great tool to consider for your Enterprise Analytics Solutions and with the power of Dossier in 2019 it has become more robust

Well we have been a customer for MSTR for quite a years now. I really liked the security and governance provided by MSTR compared to all the other analytics tool we have which has helped us implement some key security measures for different business users and vendor groups

Dossiers make a lot of sense for executive-facing work.  I like their ease-of-use and how they generate opportunities for creativity.

Most executives are still glued to Excel.  While this is still the case and clearly will be for years to come, it would be appreciated if MSTR provided better report export-to-Excel features.

Microstrategy has been challenging to work with when importing flat file datasets and joining them to other large datasets.

Command line options are limited.
