The Axiom platform also provides a powerful approach to security that allows for simplified maintenance of user-level rights. **What do you dislike about StrataJazz?** Some of the downstream impacts of design choices (e.g., selecting a particular forecast method, what a specific column means) could be explained in more detail. This would help inform our use of the product. Also, the product lifecycle is sometimes slow to incorporate client feedback into the development cycle. **Recommendations to others considering StrataJazz:** Make sure to involve a cross-functional team of users/stakeholders in the RFP & implementation phases, including finance leaders, IT, and data managers. Create a formal or informal steering committee to help make key decisions during the setup process. **What problems is StrataJazz solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are able to accomplish several different objectives with Axiom, including capital budgeting, rolling forecasting, long-term financial planning. This can all be achieved & rolled out to end-users within a single integrated product. ### 3. We also implemented a direct GL import that means that the system is always live for these reports and is now a direc "skin" of our GL. **What do you dislike about StrataJazz?** The reporting feature doesn't really have an intuitive wizard that a layperson can use, and so reports have to be made in an IT environment and then touched by users. The breadth of the canned reporting solves most of these issues, but there's always a few holes that must be filled by IT/DSS-type staff. Implementation is also a lot of work to get the most out of the system, and with the 2020 pandemic, PVHMC still wants to move the ball futher along on this. **Recommendations to others considering StrataJazz:** Axiom is excellent software, but like most EPM/BI products, you get out of it what you put into it. Make sure you know what problems you need solved and have IT buy-in to get the most amount of automation possible. **What problems is StrataJazz solving and how is that benefiting you?** Almost all of our financial reporting was manual spreadsheets with unique formatting from a text file we could generate from our General Ledger. Now, our Trial Balance imports daily into Axiom, and once we set up the reports, the preformatted output takes seconds to create all of our standard reporting each month. ### 4. There is a report for everything so it is easy to work with operations and various stakeholders and provide the right data at the right time. The process of building budgets between Finance and operations is efficient and streamlined. With Axiom being Excel based it is great to be able to export the reports and use formulas/functions to manipulate the data if needed. **What do you dislike about StrataJazz?** Some features within the budget plans is a bit clunky with multiple pop-ups and unnecessary clicks, as well as the need to clear pre-populated data. There are performance issues with the speed of the SaaS application which we are not sure if internal or external, but it sometimes takes 5+ minutes to open a budget plan file - we have been having these issues for years without resolution and it is very frustrating at times. As an end user it would be great to be able to build a report vs relying on our budget department to do it. **What problems is StrataJazz solving and how is that benefiting you?** Axiom is really a one-stop shop for all my data needs. It is a powerful tool that is used to view financial reports, create budget plans, and helps identify trends and areas of opportunity. ### 5. The beauty of AXIOM is how flexible and customizable it is, which allows us to automate many processes within AXIOM that was not possible in our previous Budgeting Software. We utilize AXIOM not only for General Ledger Reporting, but many other custom ad-hoc reports since AXIOM has the ability to create custom SQL tables and imports to get different subsets of data into AXIOM and create reports off of that data. AXIOM is extremely powerful, and I would highly recommend this solution to anyone. **What do you dislike about StrataJazz?** The AXIOM Support team is top-notch and is highly knowledgeable and ALWAYS resolves our issues. The problem is getting a hold of someone in Support. AXIOM does not allow you to call and speak to someone directly as they prefer email correspondence, which can be frustrating, especially with urgent issues. The benefits of AXIOM outlined above far exceed this small limitation. **Recommendations to others considering StrataJazz:** Make sure you have a person hihgly knowledgable in SQL and Excel during the implemenation. **What problems is StrataJazz solving and how is that benefiting you?** Our Budgeting Process has been cut in half, and we are now able to import custom non-GL data into AXIOM and create reports off of that data. We also leverage the AXIOM Forecasting module, which has transformed our monthly Forecasting process. ### 6. With the amount of help documents out there, and Axiom support, there hasn't been a problem that I haven't been able to fix. **What problems is StrataJazz solving and how is that benefiting you?** With Axiom, we are no longer needing to run a nightly consolidation that takes hours throughout the night. The tools that our organization utilizes are user-friendly and have been easy to roll out and trian among our team. End-users appreciate the ease and simplicity of utilizing these tools to obtain cost accounting information and turning it into actionable data for decision making **What do you dislike about StrataJazz?** I do not have many complaints about Syntellis Performance Solutions. If I had to pick something, it would be that some of the analytic solution products looks antiquated. This tool is very powerful and can provide so much reporting detail; I think that Syntelli can give this solution more of a modern look with a font change. **What problems is StrataJazz solving and how is that benefiting you?** The solution is providing our organization with the ability to pull cost information to the service item detail. This has allowed us to dig into the data, make the cost data more actionable, and find opportunities across the organization to eliminate inefficiencies. If there is a lender, market, product, customer, etc. that you want to review profitability on, you have the abilitiy to build the report and see exactly what you want. Budgeting and forecasting is user friendly for business unit managers to input their yearly budget which makes budget season run smoothly. **What do you dislike about StrataJazz?** Even though reporting is almost unlimited, writing and creating the reports can be difficult depending on the complexity of the information and report type. Learning what tables has each piece of information you are trying to pull into your report and how to stack up the queries takes time to learn. The refresh variables can be intimidating when trying to build a dynamic report. More training extensive training on reporting would be helpful. **What problems is StrataJazz solving and how is that benefiting you?** We can see profitability not just by a customer but by officer, product, or market as well. Results from our Customer Account Profitability module will drive our lenders' salary and incentive plan. We have used Axiom to enhance our Productivity monitoring and customized the standard reporting and expanded it to web-based productivity dashboards all within Axiom. The standard data, along with some additional custom tables, have enabled us to build a standardized position request system that integrates the productivity and financial performance data that enables our position committee to make informed decisions that will benefit the patients and organization. For us, Axiom is an invaluable tool that we use to ensure that patient needs are met through proper planning and budgeting as well as monitoring and forecasting our financial performance. **What do you dislike about StrataJazz?** There isn't really anything that we dislike about Axiom. **Recommendations to others considering StrataJazz:** I would advise anyone that is considering using Axiom to dedicate at least 1 person to administering the system. Also, I would advise that the system be fully utilized throughout the year. Some organizations only use it during budget season and Axiom can provide so much more value throughout the year. **What problems is StrataJazz solving and how is that benefiting you?** We have used Axiom to help solve productivity issues, position planning issues and general financial planning issues. While opportunity costs are hard to quantify, the overall benefit is maintaining a positive bottom line, even through the pandemic. Ensuring we have the appropriate amount of staff in the right place at the right time is a huge benefit so that we are spending salary dollars appropriately which has a direct impact on the bottom line of course. ### 15. The familiarity of the interface allows our technical teams to quickly onboarded self-serve reporting capabilities that surpass our previous systems. In addition, our controllers and finance teams can leverage Excel formulas in their department budgets to achieve specific results. **What do you dislike about StrataJazz?** The most significant downside to Axiom is its current labor budget methodology. The initial roll forward of labor creates expected results--changes in department volume will increase or decrease hours. However, any inputs by the End User will break the link between volume and hours, which requires constant reconciliation to ensure the output is realistic. Lastly, the Syntellis support times for Axiom are unfavorable. Some service tickets take up to 30 business days to resolve. **What problems is StrataJazz solving and how is that benefiting you?** Axiom has allowed us to quickly consolidate our annual operating plan at different reporting levels (e.g., regional, divisional, etc.) in realtime. In addition, we were able to create demand planning worksheets through Axiom's reporting features. The new capabilities allow us to standardize the volume planning process, save weeks of manual consolidation, and ensure each entity leverages the same data. ### 16. This then allows us less intensive imports and less complicated reporting. Also, have a 100% dedicated Master System User during and after implementation. **What problems is StrataJazz solving and how is that benefiting you?** One of the biggest issues we have is tailoring our Axiom instance to ever-changing business requirements and processes. We have benefitted from the ability to make changes on the fly without the lag time of describing our future state and waiting on development. You get out of it what you put into it. Having the Excel interface embedded into the system makes it so that anyone with Excel experience can learn how to utilize it very quickly. It also has a level of visibility that is unmatched. We love having dynamic reports that are easy to maintain and that can be customized to show us exactly what we want to see. **What do you dislike about StrataJazz?** We have had some difficulty in the past in navigating their help page, though I will say that they have made some large improvement recently which has made navigating much easier. In the past everyone had to be done by one individual, which required a lot of duplication of efforts.
