I love the fact that there are so many useful assets in one place. I am a freelance video editor and motion graphics artist with my own business and I also work in corporate as a luxury materials curator so I am very well versed in high end marketing. Story blocks is constantly upgrading and updating their offerings. 4k drone footage, got it! After effects templates for home staging, got it. Logo reveal assets, got it. The list goes on and on.... My favorite addition is the integration of the search feature into after effects and premiere pro. I find this so convenient. It would be great to offer that same function in audition as I am constantly downloading assets and modifying later in audition. Overall though I know that they will think of ways to improve and it will ultimately make my life easier and my workflow more efficient. If you are unfamiliar with Storyblocks, it is a subscription-based collection of exclusive, royalty free stock content. HD and 4K Stock Videos. As a professional who values efficient solutions and excellent customer service, my encounter with Storyblocks left me disappointed and seeking alternatives. Here's why: Lack of Timely Support: In a fast-paced industry, time is of the essence. I found myself in a situation where I required prompt assistance for a time-sensitive project. Unfortunately, after waiting for days to hear back from Storyblocks' tech support, I had no choice but to explore other software options to meet my immediate needs. Disinterested Support: When I finally received a response from tech support, I was taken aback by their lack of interest in truly understanding my inquiry. It felt as if my concerns were being brushed aside rather than addressed professionally. Communication Mishap: To my astonishment, the tech support representative even admitted to replying to the wrong customer at one point during our interaction. Such lapses in communication only added to the frustration and further eroded my confidence in their support system. Unresolved Issue: Despite reaching out for help, my issue was never resolved. Instead of making an effort to rectify the situation and retain me as a customer, I felt that the response I received indicated a lack of concern for my business. This left me with no choice but to cancel my subscription. Opaque Pricing Model: From the very beginning, I found Storyblocks' pricing model perplexing. While they offer a monthly plan, obtaining the pricing details required jumping through hoops. It was only after a long engagement with customer service that I was able to determine the cost of the monthly plan. This unnecessarily convoluted approach to pricing left me questioning the transparency of their business practices. I wanted to try for a month (paid) before buying for a year...and glad I did! As a professional who values not only the quality of a product but also the quality of the customer experience, I believe it's important to share both positive and negative experiences. While I acknowledge that challenges can arise in any business, it's crucial for companies to handle these situations with empathy, transparency, and a genuine desire to provide solutions. Moving forward, I've chosen to invest my time and resources into a service that aligns more closely with my expectations. I had temporary switched to Motion Array, but they won't allow you to work on audiobooks with their assets, which is a deal breaker for me. I literally always find what I need, and the reasonable licensing makes this a no-brainer. I have been renewing annually for about a decade. **What do you dislike about Storyblocks?** The photo selection isn't their strong suit. It's absolutely more than worthwhile to subscribe for everything else, and then use images on a it and miss basis (but supplement with an additional source.) **What problems is Storyblocks solving and how is that benefiting you?** I need to be able to offer various options to clients, and not paying for each makes this easy and realisitic to do that. ### 31. If you need pro res and larger files then that have you covered., If you want a smaller .mov file they have that, too. Search engine is pretty solid, too. I typically come to storyblocks first when looking for additional footage. **What do you dislike about Storyblocks?** Some of the After Effect templates are easy to customise. **What problems is Storyblocks solving and how is that benefiting you?** When you need some addditional elements to your project and you need them to match the same professsionalism as the erest of the project- this is the place to go. ### 35. I know the program is pushing diversity and doing a great job, just so dissappointing to see so many gender stereotypes about women and especially girls in the content. You can do better Storyblocks. You do a search and have a wide range of options to choose from for what you need. The AE and Pr projects are awesome. The images and audio tracks, too. Storyblocks is a one-stop shop for just about everything you need. **What do you dislike about Storyblocks?** Occasionally I can't find a shot that looks like it could have been done locally. Sometimes when I'm looking for a shot of a road or a golf course, for example, I can only find shots with mountains in them. We don't have mountains here. Just some rolling hills. **What problems is Storyblocks solving and how is that benefiting you?** It let me find shots I need without having to book a location and talent and shooting it myself. Also, the templates help when I need animation and don't have time to animate it myself. Many times when I can't find a sound effect in our library, I'll find it in Storyblocks audio. I've found frames in the Storyblock images .eps files that I've been able to pull a layer from and use in Premiere Pro to frame video. ### 49.
