While the free version is pretty bare-bones, the enterprise level solution provides an abundance of different tools and templates that are effective for different objectives/desired outcomes. The net result is a highly visual and effective tool for brainstorming, project planning and management, design thinking, or any activity that benefits from the simultaneous collaboration of a group or team in a live environment. **What do you dislike about Stormboard?** The solution can be buggy at times, making view control difficult or not being able to see newly submitted ideas, particularly with a large group collaborating simultaneously. The fix is typically simple (reloading the current screen), but can be disruptive. Another "dislike" is that the reporting functionality feels just adequate, but could be improved with live quantitative tracking or some other bells and whistles. **What problems is Stormboard solving and how is that benefiting you?** Particularly during a time when most people are working remotely, Stormboard has helped my organization by providing the backbone for our virtual innovation/idea sessions, driving participant engagement, and allowing us to capture insights no matter where the join us from. In my opinion, the solution is useful in decreasing the barriers to participating in a meaningful work session: people are often more willing to put their thoughts down on a virtual sticky note in a digital whiteboard environment than to raise their hand and speak in front of an audience. Drawing out notes and using different layouts can be done in a matter of seconds with the sharp creation and editing tools in Stormboard. I like the variety of different materials we can use for the boards. They are very versatile and can be applied to many different types of projects and products. **What do you dislike about Stormboard?** Using Stormboard can sometimes be difficult for newer users, especially those that haven't had much experience with digital design tools. It may cause the flow of some meetings to become awkward, so there usually will need to be at least one person that is competent enough to use the design tools with precision to keep things moving at the pace of the discussions. **Recommendations to others considering Stormboard:** I would just keep it simple with the nodes and cells at first. We aren't restrained to grids and information fields that don't necessarily capture the essential structure of our brainstorming session. I like that we immediately assign tasks and track progress through Stormboard. We can with people remotely and get things done regardless of where people are located. Stormboard works well with many type of brainstorming and assignment structures. We can lay things out with nodes, with grids, or just place items wherever we see fit. **What do you dislike about Stormboard?** I think it takes some time to use and get a hang of. Even though there are features that allow us to get ideas going, getting it to work for us and particular projects can be confusing, especially when many people are involved. It also takes time to get a hang of the particular tools that allow us to organize data in a certain way and move the data to assignments and calendar items. The templates cover a wide range of needs and are available in many different formats including my favorites, which are calendars and Kanban boards. **What do you dislike about Stormboard?** I can sometimes be confusing when it comes to picking a template or format for our storms. This is especially true when we work with larger teams. Also, we use one of the paid plans, but I don't like how the Enterprise plan has way more features than the lower tier plans. The interface is great and I love being able to color code sections and use a key to make the boards even more readable and organized. **What do you dislike about Stormboard?** I haven't found anything I dislike! As a digital coach, I have recommended it to a few teachers, and so far they all love it. **What problems is Stormboard solving and how is that benefiting you?** Stormboard provides a great place for students to interact digitally and work together to make their learning more collaborative. I especially love that they offer a free education account! It's becoming harder and harder to find really good free software like this to use in classrooms, and I actually ran across it while trying to find an alternative to Padlet. It's not terrible and I really want to see it succeed, but it still feels like a beta product. That said, we've had some good success with it over the last year or so. **What problems is Stormboard solving and how is that benefiting you?** We use "Business Model Canvas" a lot when developing new product ideas and have been looking for an elegant way to do this in an online workplace with remote teams. Stormboard is good, but they haven't quite solved the (admittedly quite challenging) UI problem of shrinking a whiteboard down to the size of a laptop screen while keeping it user friendly. ### 24. It might just end up being worth purchasing.
