SteelTally is structural steel takeoff and estimating software for Windows, built in Australia for steel fabricators, estimators and detailers. Open a structural PDF and click Autoscan: SteelTally reads the member schedule and finds every beam and column mark on the framing plan, and a missing-marks check lists anything in the schedule that isn't on the plan. Auto Measure measures each beam end to end – straight beams, curves and polylines – and puts the length straight into your member list. Columns get their own height diagram, with cap, connection and base plates added as welded items. For estimating, SteelTally prices the steel at your own $/tonne rate on the stock you'll buy, adds galvanising and paint at your own rates, works out a cut list on your stock lengths (offcuts first) and checks crane reach. When a new revision arrives, Compare revisions puts both side by side and lists every steel change – new, removed, renamed or resized. Member lists, cut lists and revision summaries export to Excel or PDF, and Australian sections and weights are built in.
