I appreciate the ability to select statistical tests from a dropdown menu rather than having to code. This feature makes STATA very easy to use, but there are also youtube videos and other STATA resources that clarify when needed and can help ensure that you are performing the correct tests. I also like being able to quickly get basic statistics on my data sets, which are also easy to import. Stata is keeping up with the most recent advances in statistical analysis. It also provides various training (free and fee) opportunities to sharpen the skill of using it.

The graphics feature is improving but still lags behind compared to R. I wish there are more flexibility in drawing graphs in Stata.

Another thing I dislike about is the inability to handle multiple datasets at the same time. It is a common program facing Stata users. It is quite slow when working with large datasets, it needs also a lot of CPU memory, might require a server computer. It is as well not suited for working with loops and complicated algorithms - makes it necessary to combine Stata with other programming languages and tools (such as SQL).
