"StarWinds solution delivers as promised and saves us over $100,000 over the next 3 years"
5/5
What do you like best about StarWind HyperConverged Appliance?

The most helpful portions of StarWinds HyperConverged Appliance for our environment were the scalability of the solution, reliability of the solution, redundancy of the solution, and the lowered upfront and re-occurring hardware cost via the VSAN portion of the product. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about StarWind HyperConverged Appliance?

We love everything about the solution, the setup, the support we have received from StyarWinds. The only portion we would like to see improved at this time would be the StarWinds Command Center application they have developed to make management more effortless. However, it is a supplemental tool to go along with HyperV Manager and Failover cluster manager, so it does not detract from the solution's usability. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Rock Solid HCI - Top Notch Support"
5/5
What do you like best about StarWind HyperConverged Appliance?

Their support is top notch, from setup to migration to production support. I didn't have any real issues with anything but the small ones I did have, their support was able to address them quickly and efficiently. They also monitor our setup 24/7 which gives me the peace of mind of someone constantly monitoring our situation and alerting us if necessary. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about StarWind HyperConverged Appliance?

There isn't really anything I dislike. I do wish they had some advanced metrics but I am more interested in it working and it works, it just does. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great cost-effective solution for SMBs"
5/5
What do you like best about StarWind HyperConverged Appliance?

Very easy to use, priced right, and very stable. We got a new all-flash hyperconverged appliance and the performance is great. The Starwind VSAN software is pretty much invisible and we manage this just like any other Hyper-V cluster, no special skills to learn. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about StarWind HyperConverged Appliance?

Starwind has a new management console that allows managing the cluster via a web interface, but it isn't really straightforward to see how much free space is left on the CSVs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Replaced existing server with StarWind HCA succesfully"

What do you like best about StarWind HyperConverged Appliance?

By not having to purchase a storage array or related network equipment we were able to save money. The support we received while setting up the solution was prompt and accommodating to our needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about StarWind HyperConverged Appliance?

Our legal department didn't accept the Starwind Proactive Support Terms Of Service so we were unable to take advantage of the ProActive monitoring. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"starwind highly recommended"
5/5
What do you like best about StarWind HyperConverged Appliance?

I manage a number of different IT environments ranging in the 10-500 staff level

Starwind by far provided the best bang for the buck. The big players are a stretch pricewise for the clients in this range and Starwind beats them everytime

Having said that – Starwind performs just as well performance wise. I opt for all flash arrays everytime and I see they made the announcement they are only selling all flash. This is a great move as all flash at the server level is an absolute game changer. Whole environments run so much smoother and really makes the IT admins life easier. If we have to deploy on prem servers its all flash or nothing for us. Having instant failover redundancy helps me sleep easier at night.

What also sets Starwind apart is the support. They have techs that are not just call routers that actually know and can troubleshoot issues 24x7. Most do have accents which may be an issue for some, but everyone I have worked with in support has been patient and professional so in my opinion this is not an issue. Besides at the end of the day the goal is to solve issues which you definitely will achieve.

There are several other competitors in this space which I did look at, but Starwind was just really easy to work with, has resources on every team to get you what you need (Pre sales, design, management escalation, and tech support) provided the specs I needed, so I didn’t really need to look much further.

How they can offer all of this and 24x7 level support and provide the hardware at extremely affordable costs is beyond me. There is no question for future purchases Starwind will be my #1 go to. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"For SMB looking for affordable HCA you can't go wrong with Starwind"
4.5/5
What do you like best about StarWind HyperConverged Appliance?

Their proactive support is fantastic. They will reach out to you if they get any alerts from your cluster. The technicians are very knowledgeable as well. The first tech has always been able to resolve any issues without needing to escalate. They also offer a switchless cluster for 2-3 nodes. No need to manage a separate stack of SAN switches. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about StarWind HyperConverged Appliance?

We had a server lose Sync with the other two servers and it had to have a Full Synchronization performed which took about 1 day. During this time I didn't notice any performance decay but it did leave us without the third node of protection during that time.

Tech support is great but because it is based in Ukraine there may be some language barriers if you have trouble understanding thick accents. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
