Start.cat is a small, senior development studio in Alella (Barcelona). Since 2012 we have designed, built and published custom apps for companies and institutions in Catalonia, the rest of Spain and abroad. The same team runs the project from the first sketch to maintenance, and almost all of it can be done remotely. We work on three lines: Mobile apps for iOS and Android. One React Native app for both platforms, with native code where a feature needs it. We also build the backend and the admin dashboard, connect the app to your catalogue, ERP, CRM or payments, and publish it on the stores. Club RUBI, RUBI's loyalty app, has been on the stores since 2018. Apps for health and clinical research. Follow-up questionnaires people actually answer, in-app consent, access with activation codes, a portal for the research team and pseudonymised exports. We have built them for the Hospital del Mar Research Institute and the Hôpital Robert-Debré in Paris. AI and automation for SMEs. Workflows that handle repetitive work on their own, assistants that answer from your company's documents, reading of invoices and delivery notes, and agents connected to your tools, always with a person supervising. We start with a prototype on your real data. We also make our own products: Lyncat Niu, an app for nursery schools and families with AI translation into 11 languages; Lyncat Tria, which sorts documents with AI on the Mac; Cubrio, for receipts, returns and warranties; and agentic-pipelines, which is open source. The code is yours, the app goes out under your own Apple and Google accounts, and we sign a data processing agreement.
