**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Oliver S. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 09, 2024

**What do you like best about Stark?**

I love that Stark has the easiest and most intelligent color contrast checker inside Figma. I use it very regulary during my design process. The vision simulator is also very helpful during the design process.

**What do you dislike about Stark?**

I would like the color picker inside the contrast checker to be easier and immeiatlly open the eyedrop tool.

**What problems is Stark solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It tells me if I’m passing the WCAG 2.2 standards and helps me make other design decision, like type choices, easier.

**Official Response from Cat Noone:**

> Oliver, thanks so much for this! I also wish the dropper would immediately open. Having it as is creates one step too many—in my opinion. Unfortunately that's a browser and API limitation. As soon as that's lifted, that will definitely be changed!

The ability to vastly improve accessibility in my designs and set up best practices around colour contrast, typography, alt text and vision simulator.

Stark gives me and my team the tools necessary to ensure that our experiences are accessible to as many humans as possible. I specifically love the contrast checker with its suggestions to resolve non-passing colors.

Sometimes things can get a little sluggish, but I think that's more a result of trying to make the plugin work properly with Figma than anything. No real deal breakers for me.

Contrast is my number one concern. It's the easiest thing to get right, but also the easiest thing to miss.

I love how integrated it is into our design workflow -- through simply having the Stark panel open, we can make well-informed decisions on color contrast as it relates to designing experiences for all audiences and all abilities.

Stark allows us to confidently design accessible experiences when it comes to color selection and contrast.

**Official Response from Cat Noone:**

> Michael, thank you so much for this feedback. I'm really happy learning Stark integrates seamlessly into your workflow.

I know what you mean regarding greater control of colors and suggestions in general. From what I can tell you, the ability to tap into your design system is something we're working on! But I'd love to know if there's anything specific you have in mind?

  ### 15. Great tool, always a go to for contrast and accessibility

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cohan B. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 29, 2024

**What do you like best about Stark?**

The variety of accessibility checks available and the trusted results

**What do you dislike about Stark?**

**What problems is Stark solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I do a lot of alternate brand colour palettes along with other digital product ui. I use Stark for its contrast checking and also when designing alternate digital first colour palettes and a sense check over my whole design.

**Official Response from Cat Noone:**

> Cohan, thanks so much for this! Totally understand you on the paid version. We actually just released this new tier for individuals and smaller teams that are looking for automation and accelerate accessibility. That may be exactly what you're looking for!

**Reviewed by:** Morgane L. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 20, 2024

**What do you like best about Stark?**

The plugin is very easy to use on Figma. I do not use all the functionalities (yet!), but I appreciate the contrast tool and how quickly I can generate views.

**What do you dislike about Stark?**

Haven't found one yet! But again, I have not used all the tools.

**What problems is Stark solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As of now, everything that has to deal with contrast ratios.

**Official Response from Cat Noone:**

> Morgane, thanks so much for this review. Please please be sure to ping me / us once you've given the entire platform a spin. We'd love to know how much more the rest of the feature set streamlines that time to accessibility for you.

The vision simulator sometimes works incorrectly (it does not simulate the entire screen, but only a few UI components)

**What problems is Stark solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps me correct accessibility problems in the design of high-impact digital products.

**Official Response from Cat Noone:**

> Carlos, thanks for this review! Going to dig into what's going on with the simulator to try to reproduce it. Appreciate you letting us know.

**Reviewed Date:** February 29, 2024

**What do you like best about Stark?**

It makes keeping up with accessibility compliance easy.

**What do you dislike about Stark?**

Some of the information is oversimplified and subsequently feels a bit obtuse. I don't think there is anything complicated enough to need documentation if there were some tweaks.

**What problems is Stark solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helps me meet accessibility standards

**Official Response from Cat Noone:**

> Thank you so much for this, CJ!

"Some of the information is oversimplified and subsequently feels a bit obtuse" → This is really helpful information. We've been making some tweaks to how we deliver contextual information and what is shared. In addition to tutorials to support the work you do.

  ### 21. Probably the best a11y product out there

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Medical Practice | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

Ensuring WCAG AA standards.

> Thanks so much for the feedback! I'm really glad Stark has been easy to use.

  ### 22. Makes your life easy when creating websites!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brian S. | Senior Web Designer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 09, 2024

**What do you like best about Stark?**

User friendly and super easy to use! I have it attached to both Google Chrome and Adobe XD.

**What do you dislike about Stark?**

Sometimes it crashes but if I rested the program it comes back up! Nothing that really hurts my workflow.

**What problems is Stark solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ADA color compliance and making sure all the sites are fully ADA compliant before sending to our customers.

**Official Response from Cat Noone:**

> Brian, whoops on that crash! If possible, ping our support team the next time this happens because it absolutely shouldn't be. You can reach us at support@getstark.co

Regarding your fantastic review, thank you! Would love to learn more about how you're utilizing it in Chrome.

  ### 23. Saves so much time!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ana M. | Product Designer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 02, 2023

**What do you like best about Stark?**

How the plugin works flawlessly on Figma, saving me so much time comparing contrast and accessible colours, as well as the cool features of seeing the designs in cases of colour vision impairments. It's great!

**What do you dislike about Stark?**

There is nothing I dislike, actually but I would suggest to have a feature that helps us create accessible colour palettes, from a primary and secondary hex codes, up to 10 colours (to fit Angular Material guidelines)

**What problems is Stark solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's helping me create designs that are accessible, without the need to use third-party websites, supporting the privacy of the business. Creating accessible designs from the get go with the help of Stark helped me alleviate a little bit of the QA's workload, cause they know the designs I provide are already accessible and checked.

**Official Response from Cat Noone:**

> Ana, thank you so much for this review! It's great to know how much time Stark is saving you. Also, thanks for your suggestion —I've shared it with the team.

  ### 24. Stark revolutionized my Accessibility Practice

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 09, 2024

**What do you like best about Stark?**

The contrast tools are extremely helpful. I use them daly. Also finding and replacing errors is a breeze. The Stark team does an excellent job of listening to customers and continuous improvement. It's so easy to integrate into your workflow. I've implemented stark usage across our entire team and it's been seamless. Their customer support is top-notch as well.

**What do you dislike about Stark?**

There isn't much to dislike at all. I really haven't run into many challenges.

**What problems is Stark solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ensuring our design system and component library stay up to date accessibility-wise.

**Official Response from Cat Noone:**

> Thanks so much for this! We really appreciate it.

  ### 25. Web Designer ADA Complient

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Scott S. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 07, 2023

**What do you like best about Stark?**

I love knowing the designs I am sending my developers are ADA compliant so we don't have to make these changes later on.

**What do you dislike about Stark?**

I haven't had many problems at this time.

**What problems is Stark solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use it when designing websites, but I have also started using it for logo design. That way I know my client's logo colors are ADA compliant before web designs start.

**Official Response from Cat Noone:**

> Scott, thanks so much for this! Glad that designer-to-dev handoff has streamlined the workflow for your team.

  ### 26. My #1 go-to accessibility tool for every project!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Arman N. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 26, 2023

**What do you like best about Stark?**

Stark's suite of tools is incredible. For so many reasons, it's a day-1 addition to every project. The flagship features, like the color contrast checking and WCAG evaluations are super useful, but as a holistic suite of accessibility tools, it just outclasses every single other option by a mile.

**What do you dislike about Stark?**

The only downside that comes to mind is that no product-creation toolset (Figma, Adobe, etc) has acquired them yet! It would be great if this was just naturally integrated into these tools from the default installation. But that's more of praise for Stark than anything tbh.

**What problems is Stark solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Stark is the fastest, easiest way to assess and improve accessibility in digital products and websites, hands down. I've tried every option out there, and no other tool has as considerate or user-friendly of a workflow as Stark. The team also regularly updates their product with incredible improvements, which has allowed me to more deeply invest my processes in their tool, as I know their product is growing and improving over time.

**Official Response from Cat Noone:**

> Arman, thank you so much for this feedback. We're working on deeper integrations for y'all -- which you'll get to experience soon. Until then, I'm so glad Stark is your #1 go-to for accessibility!

  ### 27. Streamlined Approach to Inclusive Design

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2024

**What do you like best about Stark?**

Allows early accessibility checks and enlightens you on usecases
Offers automated testing to streamline the process.
Provides insights and suggestions for improvement.
Streamlines designer-developer handoff.

**What do you dislike about Stark?**

The dashboard is not particularly helpful

**What problems is Stark solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Trying to make sure that our design files pass level A accessibility.

**Official Response from Cat Noone:**

> Thanks so much for this feedback. I'm glad Stark has been instrumental in streamlining your process, and I also appreciate you communicating that the dashboard hasn't been useful for you yet! We're working on a number of areas which hopefully change that for you :)

  ### 28. Great for checking accessibility

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andrei I. | Lead Product Designer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 05, 2023

We are using Stark all the time to check accessibility of our elements in design systems

Checking contract ration and accessibility

**Official Response from Cat Noone:**

> Thanks for this, Andrei!

  ### 29. A must have for accessibility checks

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Katie C. | Senior Product Designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 20, 2023

**What do you like best about Stark?**

Constrast checking and the vision simulator while also giving suggested alternatives for fast editing. It is also great for better hand-offs to engineering to flag areas that require attention for accessibility in the development process.

**What do you dislike about Stark?**

Honestly, it does exactly what I need it to so I don't really have any dislikes.

**What problems is Stark solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows me to keep accessibility at the forefront due to the easy use of the product. Checking for contrast ratios, tap targets, etc., is so easy it doesn't interfere with my workflow.

**Official Response from Cat Noone:**

> Katie, that's amazing. We love love love knowing how Stark is enhancing the hand-offs to engineering and flagging errors.

  ### 30. Accessible design made easy

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 13, 2023

**What do you like best about Stark?**

Stark puts the power of an experienced designer into anyone's hands. This tool saves tons of time and hassle iterating with a team to get a great end product in half the time!

**What do you dislike about Stark?**

The AI part is more of a helpful suggestion than something you can rely on to get the job done.

**What problems is Stark solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Stark is solving the problem of us not having an experienced UI/UX person on the bench to take on small/ad hoc jobs.

**Official Response from Cat Noone:**

> Absolutely love knowing that's been your experience with Stark. Such a powerful statement. Thank you for this review!

  ### 31. Handy ADA Compliance Tool

**Reviewed Date:** December 05, 2023

**What do you like best about Stark?**

It integrates directly into Adobe XD for quick and easy ADA color Compliance checks within our workflow.

**What do you dislike about Stark?**

I wish it was an annual fee rather than a monthly subscription.

**What problems is Stark solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ADA Compliance with color contrasts

**Official Response from Cat Noone:**

> That's great to know! Thanks so much for this review.

  ### 32. Part of my designOps stack

**What do you dislike about Stark?**

I can't think of anything… Every feature is helpful and easy to adopt.

**What problems is Stark solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps me and my design teams create products that everyone can use. As a designer for global brands, the results are reflected in millions of happy customers across the globe and that's just good business.

**Official Response from Cat Noone:**

> Music to my heart knowing Stark is a part of your designOps stack. It being easy-to-use and adapting to your workflow is the highest praise.

  ### 33. Very few plugins work as well as Stark does for creating accessible design experiences.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Stephy H. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 10, 2023

**What do you like best about Stark?**

Oh my gosh, the vision simulator is AMAZING. It's so easy for me to get clients to empathize with users by showing actual visual versions. Also, the UI is fantastic!
