## Stack Overflow Internal Reviews
  ### 1. Very useful but there is some room to improve

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sergey K. | Principal Consultant, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 09, 2022

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

Easy to get started and search for information, standard StackOverflow approach to reputation. Easy to tag and edit posts with full audit records. Easy to post screenshots.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

I was not able to disable email reminders so had to turn off email completely. SO for Teams does not encourage users to accept answers. Recently besides normal SSO it also starts asking for alternative email.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Improves efficiency of knowledge sharing and helps to find people who experienced similar issues. If used on a regular basis, helps building the public profile.

  ### 2. A needed SaaS platform

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rahul H. | Software engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 17, 2022

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

repetitive questions do not need to answer just link the previous answers,
helped us to utilize experience resources with respect to best coding practices.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

for now, nothing much as and more use, ill can find one for sure

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

less knowledge transfer to a newbie, limit issue query from him,
to get the best solution for the given problem.

  ### 3. StackOverflow for Teams is a good platform for creating knowledge base in the team.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mostafiz R. | Head of Product Engineering, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 19, 2022

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

The StackExchange engine like QA is the best part. It helps onboarding new members quickly, increases the collaboration among cross functional technical teams.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

The platform only offers QA, other necessary features like Documentation are missing

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When new member joins the team he can ask anything to the existing team members easily. When someone starts learning a new stack which are already used in an existing project someone can help the new guy.

  ### 4. Better than chat or a Wiki

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 06, 2022

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

StackOverflow for Teams is excellent at allowing us to share knowledge in a question and answer format, while allowing discussion about what the correct answer might be. We end up with a great repository of knowledge with the questions and answers and the discussions we have provide much needed context.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

We spend most of our time in Slack, and it's difficult to remember to go to SO to ask or answer questions. Slack integration helps with this, as any new questions are posted to several Slack channels, but we still need to remember to go check SO.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We currently have a ton of troubleshooting information in Slack. However, our Slack is configured to only keep messages for a specific period of time. SO provides us with a permanent, searchable knowledgebase of questions and answers that we can depend on.

  ### 5. Excellent and easy way to collaborate and seek help on the issues/problems you face

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anand B. | Senior software engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 31, 2022

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

I like the interface and the way questions have upvoting and marking answers correct. Also in teams we can edit other's questions or answers for better clarity.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

Nothing as such. may be some integration with github or bitbucket like sites so that we can directly refer to the codes in embeded view would be of great help also cross platform issues referencing would help.

**Recommendations to others considering Stack Overflow Internal:**

As stackoverflow is known to everyone so it is very easy to adopt for everyone and it increases collaboraton, reduces burden on SMEs.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The searching on stackoverflow, answering multiple alternatives or adding updates to the answers when a new verion of it rolls out, tagging questions, adding assignees who can answer these helps a lot

  ### 6. Team for documenting a beta test

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 04, 2023

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

Being able to concise things to a certain topic of business, that is relevant for everyone who can see it

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

I find it sends too many emails for my liking, but that is just a personal preference

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Providing a central area for documentation

  ### 7. Create knowledge base without getting stuck in intricate details

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 13, 2022

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

I like the idea that you can ask questions from your peers regarding tech, business processes etc without getting into a formal documentation endeavor. Formally documenting any single aspect requires a long-term commitment and structuring of info., whereas with StackOverflow we can ask questions in small chunks - that is, as and when the need is felt. I think this is a more organic approach towards the evolution of documentation, especially for startups where things keep on changing frequently - in which case you can simply edit an accepted answer or suggest a new answer altogether.
Peers can also upvote and indicate which answer worked best for them - which helps in case newly onboarded employees have similar questions.
Overall, its a good investment.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

Contextual searching, as we have in google, can make SatckOverflow even more useful platform.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ability to ask questions from peers who are subject matter experts and open access to collective knowledge are two important things that StackOverflow has solved for us. Also, we no longer need to worry about compiling knowledge in sequence.

  ### 8. great way to share insight and helpful hints

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 09, 2023

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

It's great way to share insight and helpful hints.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

It is just another resource to check for answers.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Resource for development tips and questions

  ### 9. Reduces the amount of frequently asked questions the members receive

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 17, 2022

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

Searching is much better than the previous tool we were using (Confluence) to keep the frequently asked questions from different members - including new members. And being able to integrate with slack for certain activities is very useful to keep the operation streamline.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

Searching doesn't work in code snippet. So, had to do some work around by extracting certain keywords from the code snipped and making them as part of the question or answer. It does make it a bit messy.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Improving searching and making it a lot easier for documenting different frequently asked questions for the team members. In addition, as Stack Overflow is already familiar with almost every developer, it makes the adoptions flawless.

  ### 10. Great tool for engineering teams!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 22, 2022

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

Most IT and software engineers know and have used StackOverflow before. So introducing the idea and concept to colleagues was easy. The integration within our environment, Microsoft Teams, was a cinch and helped connect the disparity of our services into one platform. And the easy-to-use interface was a great addition as it was intuitive and convenient.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

To truly appreciate the offering, we piloted the free version (up to 50 members). For our organization, two items would have been great to experience in this pilot: 1) SSO integration, 2) Wiki (long form) answers. We have an organization much larger than 50 people but couldn't ease the integration for our engineers with our Identity Provider (SSO) and couldn't fully experience the offering (Wiki) to the fullest at this level.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Integrated and shared knowledge across the organization was a crucial need for us. During the pilot, SO provided a common place to ask, answer and organization information which helped us evaluate the offering.

  ### 11. Exactly what you would expect for teams

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael S. | Director, Migration Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 22, 2022

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

It makes documenting common issues in our stack super easy. The questions and answers are super valuable when onboarding new teammates. Coupled with integrations for apps like Slack. Stackoverflow for Teams is super valuable

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

I'm probably biased because I have used SO for years, I have no complaints

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It centralizes knowledge about our internal processes and applications. Its ease of use makes it valuable to new team members who are joining complex projects, and keeps the rest of the team distraction free from common issues

  ### 12. Better search capability than Slack and Confluence

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 26, 2022

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

Better search capability than Slack and Confluence

Question and answer format isn’t well suited to Confluence

Easier to see the answer

Comments can be added to questions and answers and don’t distract, whereas in Slack, it adds to a long thread that the user has to wade through to find the answer (if there is one). In Confluence, the comment functionality seldom gets used.

Multiple answers can be added for a question

Questions and answers are both wikis – they can be edited and improved/fixed by any user (not just the user who posted it). In Slack, messages posted by others are not editable, and messages that can be edited by the poster are only editable for 24 hours.

Users get reputation for questions and answers that they provide and that get voted up, adding a gamification aspect, and also giving the posters gratification that others are benefiting from their efforts.

Answers can be accepted and voted up, which makes more valuable answers bubble to the top, and indicate to users that others have found them useful.

Tags make it easy to see all questions for a given tag, which users can use to gain education in a given area, and help users get more context to ask better questions. Looking at questions for a tag is an FAQ for that subject.

Subject matter experts (SME’s) can be associated with tags, so that those users get notified when a new question is asked with that tag.

Users are already familiar with the Stack Overflow format because of the public Stack Overflow site.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

I don't have any major complaints I can think of off the top of my head that directly relates to the way the platform works. Sometimes members of the community can be a bit rude but that is the nature of the beast with online communities.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Searching in Slack is poor and inefficient. It’s difficult to find conversations, questions, and answers unless you have a good idea of what words to search for, channels to search, or time period. The older the message in Slack, the more difficult it is to find. Therefore, the same questions tend to get asked multiple times over days/weeks/months.

  ### 13. It solves our org's issues of reusing knowledge and asynchronous communication on precise topics

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Szymon T. | Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 03, 2022

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

I love that SO for teams helps our teams not ask the same questions again, makes onboarding easier, signals recurring problems

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

We haven't found a way to integrate with Mattermost to deliver notifications about questions. There could exist an integration like this already, not sure

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Described above ^

  ### 14. Good, but has to fit the usecase

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dennis W. | Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 07, 2022

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

Overall, the great thing is that you can ask all the internal code-related questions in your team. Also, the main advantage over Slack is that you can upvote the best answers, along with a lot of nice-to-have features, like proper formatting and the "accepted answer".

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

It's a bit hard to get people to use it. And if not enough people use it, you won't get your answers. That's the main downside, I think it's a great tool overall. It's also a bit hard to decide what goes into Slack and what goes into Stackoverflow.

**Recommendations to others considering Stack Overflow Internal:**

If you need a Q&A tool to exchange between developers, it's awesome.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mainly just for debugging / help purposes between multiple developers. We're slowly adopting it, but it will definitely pay off over the long run, as everything is searchable and available.

  ### 15. A must have for every developer

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Fabrizio D. | Software Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 11, 2022

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

Stackoverflow is the place where developers can meet. If you don't sleep at night because you cannot resolve a issue, Stackoverflow people can help you sleep again.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

It would be cool if stackoverflow would create a real community all around the world with several meetings in different countries. I think it must become something more than a forum.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Everyday, Stack Overflow team drives me to the solution when i need an help. Community is the real power of stackoverflow. My business performance would not be same without it.

  ### 16. Knowledge sharing is critical to effective teams.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sam W. | Senior technical consultant - Data and A.I., Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 04, 2022

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

Knowledge sharing is critical for our teams to run effectively. Stack Overflow gives us a central place for staff to get answers to their questions.
As contractors, we need to be able to jump between projects quickly. This is just impossible without a good knowledge base.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

It takes a while for the knowledge base to build up to a 'critical mass' before staff will start relying on it as THE place to look first. It is 'yet another' tool that staff need to be aware of when they start at the company.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Stack Overflow for Teams is helping our staff get the knowledge they need to become effective quickly when changing between projects.

  ### 17. A Reliable and Familiar Resource For My Team

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael S. | Software Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 15, 2022

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

I love the Stack Overflow format. Since my team and I work with about 10 different programming languages, this is a great way to document our findings and help each other solve problems.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

There really isn't much to dislike. The most difficult part is getting the buy-in from the rest of the team. We are trying to make it a habit to use it, so we will see how that goes!

**Recommendations to others considering Stack Overflow Internal:**

It's a must-have for development teams. Makes life easier :)

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Not only is it a great resource to help your team solve problems, but it is great to be able to look back at it to remember how I did things in a language I might not have used in a couple months. The fact that I can post a question and answer it myself before I even upload it is a huge advantage.

  ### 18. Stack Overflow for teams is the best knowledge management solution for engineering teams

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 03, 2022

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

Stack Overflow's public offering is, at this point, well known. Stack Overflow for teams provides all the same features, at a reasonable cost for small teams, with good integrations with Slack, etc.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

It would be ideal to have seamless Slack/other-to-Stack Overflow conversions and other knowledge management capabilities past those available in the public version of Stack Overflow. Managing your knowledge within your own team can be difficult, and curating and maintaining the information in Stack Overflow can be time consuming.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Stack Overflow for Teams ensures we can keep track of "How to" style information in a more compliant manner than chat systems like Slack, and with less overhead than with systems like Confluence.

  ### 19. Super Helpful!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 31, 2022

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

the notifications in Microsoft teams are great! they really get it going!
i also like the option to put in comments, and also the fact that you could always come back and edit anything you wrote

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

i would like to filter out better what notifications to get, it should have a bit more details or options to it. but overall its not so bad.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

having a lot of important information all not being saved in proper ways. this way everyone could have access to a shared source of information, and can also add more to each part of it.

  ### 20. All the benefits of Stack Overflow, specific to your company

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 18, 2022

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

The best part of Stack Overflow for Teams is that it allows developers in our company to ask quick or "informal" questions in a way that can easily be documented, referenced, searched, and well-formatted. The tagging feature can be customized to implement tags for our company's software, including descriptions and Wiki data for the custom tags. Stack Overflow for Teams allows different departments, like QA, to interface with software developers directly, increasing our company's knowledge base and improving cross-team communication and understanding.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

The only negative mentioned in our company that stands out is the searching abilities; the combination of questions and answers found in search results is a bit cluttered, and it was mentioned that the searching algorithm is not quite as "fuzzy" as Google's, meaning search terms must be typed out more precisely. A minor thing I was personally thinking about was the seeming inability to disable downvotes -- for smaller companies, there may not be a need for "negative feedback" such as downvotes, and allowing Stack Overflow for Teams administrators to disable the option to downvote may encourage utilization of the software, with the options being either upvote or ignore an answer.

**Recommendations to others considering Stack Overflow Internal:**

Have people make accounts and tag them in the "People asked" option to encourage participation.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Stack Overflow for Teams allows us to no longer lose answers to common questions in Slack chat channels. Additionally, because of the process of asking a question on Stack Overflow, we take the time to carefully format our questions and include as much detail as possible in the initial question; all the context exists right away, as opposed to a string of messages in a chat thread. Now, when a common question is asked, we can refer to a Stack Overflow link and add additional changes on top of the process if it changed since the question was originally asked on Stack Overflow for Teams.

  ### 21. A knowledge base for the whole company

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 09, 2022

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

Stack Overflow for Teams is increasingly becoming my preferred knowledge base. I see myself looking first on Stack Overflow instead of internal documents, wikis and blogs. Through a good search system and objective Q&As, you get what you want faster, not only for code-related questions but generic information, too.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

We devs are used to the UI because we need the info and technical people tend to value information over experience, but non-technical people would benefit from a better UX.

**Recommendations to others considering Stack Overflow Internal:**

I would recommend it if you need a Q&A-based knowledge base for your company. It is very effective in decreasing the onboarding time.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A centralized source of information for any topic related to my company. I benefit financially in the sense that I save time (and time is money). My doubts are resolved quicker, thus I can be more productive.

  ### 22. A great tool for sharing key know-how

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Victor G. | Tech Lead, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 17, 2022

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

The most helpful thing about Stack Overflow for teams is the ability to have answers for the most frequently asked questions, and also a way to ask profound questions to your team.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

Pricing is a bit steep for my organization, so it has been hard to pitch to our managers (in conjunction to other internal tools)

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Saving time with commonly asked questions, better onboarding, better knowledge sharing.

  ### 23. Internal KB for developer using the platform they know

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 09, 2022

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

Stack Overflow offers ease of use, dynamic knowledge transfer, and Q&A. Public and internal info is on the same platform.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

Unfurthntly, users for non-technology departments find the tool not intuitive, so we can't consolidate internal KB in the company.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The development team is big and every project is delivered by different team members, Stack Overflow helps us to get answers about internal projects and code that was written in the past. Stack Overflow saves us dev hours.

  ### 24. Good place for small communities

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 20, 2022

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

If you are familiar with Stack Overflow you will find using Stack Overflow for Teams very easy. All of the feature are here: questions, answers, upvotes, comments, even karma points.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

I was part of the community that was using the free version, so pretty soon, we couldn't accept any new users to the community.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Having all of the discussion at one place where most developers already come on a daily basis.

  ### 25. A superb tool for not only sharing knowledge, but building a knowledge suppository for team

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Martin M. | S, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 24, 2022

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

I like that team members can share valuable learnings within a smaller team and of course, StackOverflows great search function means people searching almost always will find something relevant if it exists.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

I'm not overly fond of the reputation. I feel that it somewhat stops people with a low reputation from contributing. I believe this is human nature and of course the more they contribute, the better their reputation. Any ideas on how to encourage team members to get over that initial hurdle would be most appreciated.

**Recommendations to others considering Stack Overflow Internal:**

Might be a bit slow to get others to take up the concept, but once it gets going, its a superb tool for knowledge sharing in a small team (35 team members). If you have high staff turnover, this helps massively with inductions as new starters can help themselves a lot of the time.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SQL coding issues in a complex data environment, R coding issues in the same environment, but also a lot of general items for new starters, i.e. where is this? what does this acronym stand for? Its been a superb tool to get new starters off the ground and being able to learn the ropes at their own pace. It also helps when a team is extra busy to have written answers as opposed to have to bother somebody who is busy with what could be seen as a silly question.

  ### 26. Usefull, Agile and collaborative!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michele E. | Software Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 05, 2022

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

Working with the StackOverflow for Teams, you 're near the other Colleagues in the same organization, and this is fantastic because you have the visibility on different problems on the project.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

Actually i haven't found nothing that Stack Overflow for Teams can't afford

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I've used Stack Overflow for Teams to solve problems where i'm stucked, principally technical problems, not documenteted in confluence or new issue/bugs caused by the configuration change.

  ### 27. It's easy to set-up and helps team members create a knowledge base that is very helpful.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rahul B. | Software Associate II, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 24, 2022

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

Ease of use and UI. The feature to add tags is especially useful.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

Although everything is well thought out and easy to use, the only downside is that we can not add more than 50 members in the free version.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are a team of learners who have a ton of questions and it helps us with the communication and the ability to solve problems and share them with the rest of the team.

  ### 28. Organizing and interesting

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Khalid B. | Online Book-seller, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 15, 2022

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

The fact of having private conversations just like the overall SOF system

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I could ask in my school more professionally and get deep answers from geeks here.

  ### 29. Excellent Q&A Platform

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rodion M. | Technical Lead, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 25, 2022

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

Probably the most useful Q&A platform for your IT team out there, and of course, it can be much more than that. Incredible tool.
Just several clicks and everyone can go in and collaborate. Most of the IT crowd is already familiar with it, and who isn't it should not take long to get used to it.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

Not a "Stack Overflow for Teams" fault, but the system does not write your questions and answers for you, so the team will have to be encouraged to use it until it will be everyone's go-to resource.

The hardest bit for inexperienced team members to get used to is the text formatting system and the importance of tags can be missed by people, but that are again two incredible features, that people should simply learn to use or leave to the admins.

**Recommendations to others considering Stack Overflow Internal:**

Possibly my recommendation for anyone will be: make sure your team chooses it, at the end of the day it is almost a content creation platform, the users need to like it.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Fo us "Stack Overflow for Teams" is a powerful tool for helping team members to collaborate with each other and other teams. Questions by anyone that can be answered by anyone and easily be found again by someone else as a core of it.
Here is a comment from one of our team members: "a lot more precise and concentrated location when we have questions".

Additionally, we also use it to brainstorm some ideas and decisions that need more time and more thought.

  ### 30. Helpful but not visible

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 09, 2022

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

I get the same experience of stack overflow except that the answers are easier to find instead of having to sort through slack messages

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

Most of my questions are answered on slack, so I don't think to check stack overflow for teams.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's good for Q&A format questions that have answers that don't change a lot

  ### 31. Stack Overflow for Teams is bridging the company silos by Q&A knowledge reuse

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Eduardo A. | Product Owner, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 05, 2021

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

Connect with colleagues from different areas of the company that you would otherwise never do. I have already exchanged with a least a dozen colleagues from other departments because of it. So one could say this is also an excellent networking platform.
The strength of Stack is on the questions and answers and the reputation system. That helps to surface the most relevant content to the top and rewards the users (especially the reputation hunters!) for keeping the content neat and up to date. It takes the burden out of the shoulders of the SMEs with the knowledge reuse. It is straightforward to find colleagues willing to help with any topic by clicking on the "top users" for any tag. Very nice to create custom feeds about the topics (tags) that you work. The search capabilities are also very flexible. You can customize the search results to your needs.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

No ABAP syntax highlight support - which is essential for our company
MS Teams integration only connects to one single MS Teams Team
The Slack integration currently allows external Slack users to use /stack search command even without having a user on the instance.
It is not possible to filter the data by anything else other than time intervals on the dashboards.
I know all these points are being looked at by Stack :)

**Recommendations to others considering Stack Overflow Internal:**

As any project, you need to have great executive engagement and support. In Stack Overflow for Teams this is especially important. We've seen that it is especially motivating when the company leadership uses the solution to answer questions the employees might have about different internal company topics. This really drives the adoption and engagement of the tool, so pick good executive sponsors. Also, it positively impacts the company culture, but changing behaviors is not easy. People tend to fall back to the lowest denominator of collaboration which is emails quite often.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Find where to or to whom to ask a question. This isn't easy in several scenarios for big companies where several different tools are used that can support Q&As. With the increase of Stack adoption in the company, we expect to see a slight decrease in the number of meetings as the information should flow more freely and be more easily accessible inside the company.

  ### 32. SO is an essential tool for most of software-related jobs.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 10, 2022

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

Being able to handle internal questions the same way you work with public/open source is fantastic. SO makes reusing knowledge surprisingly easy as you don't have to spend any extra time to do it.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

Initial login for SO teams has some frictions. It's not super easy to understand that creating a Teams account creates a public account as well, which creates an unnecessary burden of merging existing public accounts.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It makes reusing knowledge a no-effort task. Not only that, but it does not require any learning process, as most people are already familiar with the SO concept and its UI.

  ### 33. Stop re-inventing wheels.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Food Production | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 03, 2022

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

We have a community of engineers that are moments away from addressing company-specific problems. This is great because usually no, problem is unique. With Stack Overflow for teams we can look up to see if a problem has occured in the past and what methods where used to resolve it.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

Being a workplace StackExchange, the community is smaller than the wider Stack Exchange. Building the community is difficult for users not used to Stack overflow.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Stack Overflow for Teams mitigates the time spent solving repeated problems. This benefits me because I can immediately find someone else who has solved the same problem, have a workable solution and execute it. If not, I can contribute to the community more.

  ### 34. Answers for work, on demand!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jamie D. | Software Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 28, 2022

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

It's just like standard SO, so the UX is familiar to the developers, and we get to have answers to common questions at the ready now. No more having to wait until someone with the knowledge is available to get an answer.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

There's honestly nothing that I dislike about the experience.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's preventing developers from stalling on questions related to their projects. If they don't understand a particular issue, they can ask their question on SO for teams and move on to something else until an answer is posted.

  ### 35. Quick resolution ton Stack Overflow for business login issue

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kshitij D. | Data Engineer 2, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 21, 2022

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

The Stack Overflow team was extremely quick and followed up quickly to any updates provided by my team

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

The search feature does not have an intelligent mechanism to identify the best post to answer the question asked.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As anyone who programs will tell you, their job would be impossible without leveraging the insights from the broader community regarding issues that we face.

  ### 36. Stack Cverflow is my go to source for all my questions.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 14, 2022

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

It helps that it's a familiar concept that I'm already used to (as an active user of Stack Overflow).

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

I wish I could tag groups or teams of people to specific answers.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Instead of wondering what is the best channel to ask a question, I can ask directly in SO.

  ### 37. It increases productivity for a team, and really helps each other for sharing knowledge

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 27, 2022

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

It changed the way we are interacting with teams on their questions. it helps a lot for knowledge management.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

I've been using it for a couple of months, and as of this writing, I haven't come across anything similar.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It provides a better solution for knowledge management and aids in boosting team and organizational productivity.

  ### 38. A flawlessy experience to write down technical and problem solving documentation.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Simone P. | software engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 26, 2022

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

The answer editor is the best part, followed by the search engine.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

The least helpful parts are the mechanisms to improve the signal/noise ratio. While they are very important in the public site, where we interact with unknown people, they are almost useless in SO for Teams where the communication between the team members is (hopefully) strong.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The main problem is the building of a common technical knowledge base. In a effort scale you have a manual in the first place, then wikis and finally S.O. And even if SO requires a lot less effort wrt the other methods, it nontheless matches the usefulness

  ### 39. USe the same tools for both community and company hot questions

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alexander P. | Frontend Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 14, 2022

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

1. You use same tool you already get used to

2. Everyone in company see your questions in slack channel - so integration I very convenient

3. Everyone can search for solution - so new members onboearding is easier

4. You have a good addition to confluence which is easier to maintain up-to-date since every new reader may leave a comment with updates

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

1. To join the company in SO I had to log off from my SO account and login again in join-the-company flow.

**Recommendations to others considering Stack Overflow Internal:**

1. Try it for hot 'how-to' topics
2. collaborate providing what you know to others in easy way

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As I already mentioned we use it as range of hot topics with concrete steps of how to do it.
And it is easy to maintain
ANd you cannot ask questions in confluence - but you can in SO with slack notification

  ### 40. A great help to organize knowledge

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dayane C. | software engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 04, 2021

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

information is centralized in one place, so it's easier to know where to looking for and search is a lot more efficient than other tools we were using to register knowledge.

Also every developer is acquainted with SO and this makes a lot easier to new team members since there is virtually no learning curve to use the tool and since is so familiar more people were encouraged to record knowledge that was previously restricted to one person, since it works so well more people search there before asking on or slack channel.

The email with summary of what happened in the week in the company's SO is very helpful too.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

I think it would be nice if if it were easier to visually distinguish when I'm searching on my company's SO or when I'm searching in the public SO.

One thing that you could improve would be the possibility to select the pre existing tags in the search box, instead of having to consult them in that menu on the left of the screen, it is difficult to notice that menu.

Not related with the product per se but this question here was confusing "What is your industry when using this product?".

**Recommendations to others considering Stack Overflow Internal:**

Very easy to use since every developer is already familiar with SO.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

before we had several places where knowledge was recorded, some of which had very bad search tools, the SO helped us to centralize this knowledge in one place, have standardized template for questions and made it easier to search for information.

We also started using the integration with Slack, and this allows us to know when there is a new question in the OS so that the questions do not go unanswered for a long time.

  ### 41. Great tool for development teams..!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 07, 2022

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

Stack Overflow for Team it's an excellent tool for development teams as a knowledge base.
A centralized and intuitive tool like Stack Overflow for Teams will help you to share the knowledge and reduce the dependency on team members.
Highly recommended!

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

Nothing is coming to my mind now. Instead, I consider handy and intuitive tool. Most developers are already familiarized with Stack Overflow.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Having an updated knowledge base and sharing the knowledge that will reduce the dependency on team members.

  ### 42. Stackoverflow for Teams is amazing

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Logistics and Supply Chain | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 08, 2022

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

We can share the knowledge internally with different teams the same way they used to see it and search for it in public Stackoverflow. Also, we maintain the knowledge up to date using the same proven method of SO

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

Nothing specific I don't like, except that it is not so easy to have attachments for external files... providing a way to attach files will be beneficial even if we provide a hosting for the file ourselves but to make it easy to attach them from SO UI

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Internal Knowledge sharing for different teams in an easy, familiar way and keeping this knowledge maintained and up to date by all people contributes to its validity and crispiness.

  ### 43. Easily the most streamlined FAQ platform

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nikki R. | Senior Engineer, Team Lead, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 04, 2022

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

I'm used to leveraging not just StackOverflow for my software development needs, but also the other Q&A sites in the StackExchange family. Questions are easy to discover and answering is incentivized (gamified). What I like best is that it encourages people to go to the platform due to its simplicity, straightforwardness, and ease of use.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

If there's anything I don't like, it's that the policing and moderation of what's appropriate content in the StackOverflow for Teams instance (what must go to Teams, what must go to the public StackOverflow, what can stay in Slack) will take a lot of time to educate everyone.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

There is a lot of proprietary information that is only relevant to our organization. StackOverflow for Teams covers the internal Q&A needs completely. Frankly, the organization is still learning to fully leverage it, so the benefits might not be realized by everyone just yet.

  ### 44. It's great, as long as everyone remembers that it exists.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Daniel K. | Head Of Web Development, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 11, 2022

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

The best thing is that it acts like StackOverflow, just constrained to knowledge that is specific to your company.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

It's easy to forget that it's there and thus questions will not be posted on it.

**Recommendations to others considering Stack Overflow Internal:**

Make sure that you from the beginning on introducing it to everyone and tell them how it works.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Transparent answers to questions that everyone might have at a central place. It makes finding answers easier.

  ### 45. Stack Overflow for Teams is a good way to avoid repeated questions.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 16, 2022

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

I like that information is available across the entire team/company so that a single person/group of people doesn't have to repeatedly answer the same question or create an official document.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

I don't like the fact that it takes a while to be useful.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Stack Overflow for Teams is solving the issue of useful questions and answers being hidden away in different slack channels and threads. It is a good intermediate between Slack and Confluence.

  ### 46. Might be better than using Confluence or MS Word for documentation

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 14, 2022

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

I like that you can see the history of the process of change and it's easy to search my questions. I don't think I use any tools to use this software, I think it's better than using Confluence.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

It would be nice to transfer old notes from confluence or sm word easily into Stack Overflow, if we were to migrate over like fully.

**Recommendations to others considering Stack Overflow Internal:**

I'm pretty sure a lot of the people at least in NY and SF uses Stack Overflow, I think it's a great tool to use for internal documentation as well.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're just trying to find a quick answer to our questions, sometimes when you work on other parts of the company, you lose base of the other products you've previously worked on, so it's a quick way to find those answers/procedures here. If we need to update it, you can see how it's updated and compare easily how it was before.

  ### 47. It is a great way to share company information.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jeffrey S. | Senior Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 25, 2022

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

Having a central point to start searching for company specific information

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

The only pet peeve I have is that my stack overflow score doesn't show on the teams stack overflow

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Whenever there is a question that is asked frequently, I can just refer them to teams.

  ### 48. An intuitive way to create a shared knowledge base

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brendan B. | S, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 17, 2022

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

Stack Overflow's ability to search questions & identify similar questions is immensely helpful for reducing redundant questions. I love the ability to ask specific coworkers and still have the answer remain publicly visible. I also love that our SO is integrated with Slack so that questions posted on the website also notify the relevant people in Slack.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

Nothing so far. The whole experience has been positive.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The main problem we are solving is having one SME who constantly gets asked the same questions. Maybe they can make an FAQ, but then we'd end up with a dozen different FAQs for different subjects. Stack Overflow for Teams allows us to have a consolidated, searchable FAQ for every subject. And it's already reduced volume of repeated questions.

  ### 49. Just like regular Stack Overflow but personalised for YOUR team!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Adam R. | Educational Technologist: Learning & Analytics, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 25, 2022

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

It is incredibly helpful to be able to search for common questions and their (accepted) solutions. We use a variety of software tools (LaTeX, Python, XML, PSTricks, TikZ) many of which have our own in-house modules and approaches to get them working well together. We'd never be able to find answers to some of our Q&A documentation anywhere else on the web and organising them in any other way is just tedious in comparison.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

Searching can sometimes leave a little bit to be desired - I might be wrong, but it seems like the onus is on the question writer to include lots of possible search terms or phrases in the title of the question. The bodies of the question or the answers don't seem to influence the search results. For answering your question, the upvoting and accepting can also feel a bit contrived, but perhaps that's me.

**Recommendations to others considering Stack Overflow Internal:**

If your team already make substantial use of regular Stack Overflow in their work, then this is a really great option for internal documentation and collaboration and I wouldn't even look elsewhere.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SO for Teams ensures that we don't lose valuable learnings regarding how our own product and processes work. We can keep onboarding data in one place, and we can more easily share knowledge, business-specific expertise, and collaborate with each other.

  ### 50. Great alternative for knowledge base for team that doesn't write knowledge base

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 05, 2022

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

Everything good about stack overflow that we can use in a private setting for business or internally. It's fairly easy to manage the team too, the administration tools are pretty simple and starightforward

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

It's pretty annoying if you already use StackOverflow personally. In my case, I want to have access to the private StackOverflow while still logging in using my business account. I don't want to join my organisation using my account but I still need access to both my personal and business account frequently, I need to log out and then log in again using a different account to do that. Would be great if there's a way to login into both accounts at the same time and the ability to switch accounts easily

**Recommendations to others considering Stack Overflow Internal:**

If you're looking for a knowledge base alternative and are too lazy or don't have time to write. Just use StackOverflow, Its is easier to build knowledge-based on Q&A rather than writing documentation from 0

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

At our organisation, we don't have complete documentation. Similar questions are asked and answered from time to time, especially when onboarding. a private StackOverflow solve this problem without any of us need to write comprehensive documentation, we can just answer 1 question and refer to it the next time another person needs it.
