## Stack Overflow Internal Reviews
  ### 1. Great tool to build internal knowledge base to share across all of our departments.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 27, 2024

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

The search is very solid, although it will be interesting to see how it continues to fare against AI. The suggestions as a question is typed accelerates finding information and reduces chances of duplicates. The gamification of answers has created a friendly competition for speed and quality of answers.

The API offers good integration points which we've used for a custom Slack bot.

The ability to up/down vote is useful to promote one answer over another.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

Deactivated accounts still count against used seats, so you have to actually delete the account. This doesn't necessarily delete the data, but it renames the user to "user234". Having posts from "user234" after that person has left the company is not useful. It makes it harder to reach out to other colleagues of that person. It would be better if you could deactivate an account and at least retain the name of the user for posterity.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed a tool for technical Q&A that had solid formatting options, a community feeling, and a search that works. Confluence couldn't meet that need due to absence of Q&A format and poor search results. Slack is not a documentation tool and searching for information is also terrible. Stack Overflow filled the gap. I think AI is going to present a formidable challenge for SO to remain relevant.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 21, 2025

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

Stack overflow is a really useful tool. It's great for enablement if you're new to a role, and it's been a great resource for me to find technical knowledge about questions others have already posed.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

1. the search capability is not great - it's hard to find similar questions that have been posed and answered previously unless you use the exact same terminology that was used by the previous poser.
2. I find it really hard to understand when my question has been answered vs another, since I get way too many notifications via email

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

it serves as a nice knowledge base which means my teams don't have to ask and answer the same questions over and over again.

  ### 8. Good for Q&A and basic Wiki tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 06, 2025

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

Stack Overflow for teams does a good job at providing a space for questions and answers. You can also use their articles to create wiki pages. It's searching is pretty good, which is one of the best parts. It isn't super pretty, but it gets the job done. For anyone familiar with Stack Overflow, they will feel comfortable using Stack Overflow for Teams.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

It's not a very attractive tool. Also, some people struggle to find materials and so don't use it as often as they should.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Stack Overflow for Teams is providing a place where we can get questions answered in a way that allows those answer to be discoverable for future use. In other words, it makes for a good knowledge base.

  ### 9. Excellent solution to centralize product questions

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anna C. | Senior Technical Product Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 22, 2024

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

Using Stack Overflow for Teams has allowed us to reduce the number of questions and support tickets that come to our product team and SME's by increasing the ability for people to self-service and answer their own questions. They can quickly and easily search for similar questions allowing them to solve their own problems before submitting a question. We have also been able to integrate it seemlessly with Slack so that new questions automatically post to a slack channel, gaining greater visibility so that users can get answers faster.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

There has been so much usage that I am finding it difficult to keep up with the volume of questions that come in. This is not a fault of the product but rather of how we have it set up an our process to manage it. As far as features within Stack Overflow, I have yet to find one that it is lacking or that doesnt work well.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This helped us to reduce the volume of questions coming into our SME's and product team. It helped to create a community driven resource of Q&A that requires limited effort from our staff to maintain.

  ### 10. Helpful for Documentation

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Katlyn Q. | Senior Ministry Analyst, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 16, 2023

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

I like the ability to document organization-specific processes and builds. The Slack integration is also helpful for keeping track of other contributions or questions.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

Content can be hard to find. This system's answers are only as valuable as the original question heading. If the poster did not know what they were looking for, it might be challenging to find the question later on.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Documentation for detail-intensive processes, audits, and walkthroughs. Resolving version-related issues and bugs.

  ### 11. It works

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joseph M. | Technical lead, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 13, 2025

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

It is concise, things work as they should. It's familiar for developers.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

I hate that when I'm writing articles and I want to create tables of contents with links there is no real way of knowing what is the link the title section will have.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We didn't have a way to store knowledge and share it that is the part that I link.
Benefits I don't see many, the adoption in the company has been hard.

  ### 12. Great place to get your answers from teams and build the knowledge base at a single place.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 18, 2025

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

Its a great place where you can ask questions and get the answers from teams across the organizations and build knowledge base along the way. I really like the suggestions for previously asked questions. You can always refer the person to the previously answered questions and you don't need to go through the effort to identify the issue and answer again. Integrating it with other knowledge tools is also very easy and you can create a AI chatbot around the knowledge as well.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

I have not seen much use of communities in Stack overflow for teams.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is creating a knowledge base for teams across the organization.

  ### 13. SO for Teams really helps to organize our internal knowledge

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Steffen F. | Scrum Master and DevOps Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 10, 2025

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

Every Developer in our organisation is part there and is also open wo ask every question. The most important part is that our organisational structure does not influence the people there. Everyone is open to ask questions to everyone else.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

It is hard to engage every colleague, to participate in the community.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The knowledge keeps getting lost, once some members leave the company. The knowledge shared there will stay and help.

  ### 14. Great for team knowledge share

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 17, 2024

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

StackOverflow has positively transformed the way knowledge is centralized across different teams in our company. I personally rely on it daily to consult the previous questions and answers asked by my coworkers and I think it is easy to use with tags that pings the dedicated team and this implementation made the response time fast and efficient.
Overall, StackOverflow has become an indispensable tool for our team's success.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

I dislike the fact that i cannot find my own questions easily or sort them by tags

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Questions that cannot be found in our documentation can be directly asked to any team member of our company.

  ### 15. Stack Overflow teams for an associate developer

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 03, 2025

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

I like the search feature, as it's a helpful way to catalogue and search previous posts for bugs, as well as their solutions.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

Posts that you have already opened should be more clearly re-colored / bolded. I oftentimes find myself clicking the same post again when debugging.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My company has many internal tools and frameworks custom built, that oftentimes the Wiki does not explain enough. Overflow Teams helps me sort through common issues other users experience, to get my code running and learn why it broke.

  ### 16. very usefully for all the tacky solutions

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** mangu d. | Database Admin, Entertainment, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 01, 2025

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

For every tacky questions we have all the solution to help all the developer

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

some of the issues which some common questions with lengthy solutions

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

while using the Stack overflow site the tacky guys will helpfully to all the engineers

  ### 17. Stack Overflow is the BEST

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kirtan P. | Technical Product Support Specialist, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 07, 2025

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

It helps me and my team quickly find solutions to difficult questions. If I don’t know the answer to a specific question, I can simply search for a keyword to check if someone on the team has asked it before and whether it has already been answered.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

Not Always the Best for Discussions – It's great for structured Q&A, but not ideal for open-ended discussions or brainstorming, where tools like Slack or Confluence might work better.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It saves time by eliminating the need to repeatedly answer the same questions. Also, it ensures continuity and long-term knowledge preservation.

  ### 18. A very good way to share team and company knowledge

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Health, Wellness and Fitness | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 14, 2025

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

It is the first place to go to for answers to 'how do I' or 'how does this work' kind of questions which, as a development team, we ask a lot. As questions arise we strive to record them, so that Stack Overflow for Teams can answer the question next time it comes around. It's nicely easy to signup new users.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

Some knowledge doesn't have the question-answer form, instead it might be a document or image of some sort and it usually requires a link to some external content.

It's not always easy to encourage others to record and share their knowledge

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Remembering how something was setup, why it was setup that way and how to make changes to it.

  ### 19. Fantastic for Large Organisations

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 07, 2025

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

StackOverflow for Teams has proven to be an invaluable tool for sharing information and supporting colleagues. Its seamless implementation of triggers and event-based actions enhances our workflow. After using it for over a year, it has become my go-to resource for accessing business information without the hassle of multiple logins making it super easy to use.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

I have no dislikes about StackOverflow for Teams.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Stackoverflow for Teams is helping reduces the overhead for SMEs and enabling others from around all areas of the business to support each other enabling for faster delivery of projects.

  ### 20. Great enabler for knowledge sharing and support

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Emir B. | Senior Customer Success Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 17, 2024

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

- We can find in Stack Overflow not only an FAQ written by one team (who might not necessarily know all the questions from the field), but actual question written by anyone corresponding to an actual need encountered on the field.
Each time there's a question and an answer logged there, it has high chances to help again any other person who would encounter it.
- There are several mechanisms to easily identifiy relevant content, such as the search bar (of course) and the tags to see all questions related to a topic.
- Additionnally, it's easy to refer to a question and its answer by just sending a hyperlink to a colleague who needs it.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

It needs a fair amount of enablement and moderation to make sure to keep our knowledge base clean and maintenable over time. Indeed, writing questions / asking for help is actually a skill, and it's necessary to help the users improve that skill so Stack Overflow's optimisation can be well optimized.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- It's a one-stop shop for almost all questions. The benefit here is clarity and efficiency: when you have a question, try to make it as general as possible and ask it on Stack Overflow.
- When you respond to a question once, it's easy to locate that answer and share it again through the link with anyone who has the same question.

  ### 21. All the familiarity of StackOverflow in the organization's context - and more!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Grzegorz (Greg) S. | Technical Architect, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 22, 2024

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

The main benefits I see are:
- familiarity with StackOverflow - everybody knows what it is and how to use it,
- knowledge is not lost in Slack - and the Slack-SOfT integration also helps. Also, the same things are not repeatedly rediscovered, as they're documented,
- compared to static pages of documentation (e.g. Confluence) - the nuggets of knowledge are much more piece-meal, and it's easier to keep them up-to-date (through swarming and reminders about the Content Health review),
- Articles serve the purpose of longer pieces of documentation quite well.

Also, the initial implementation was pretty painless - as always, the biggest challenge was to make the organizational change happen, so the content starts to appear there, and engineers ask questions and search for answers in SOfT first.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

The main problem I see is that we didn't really find a way to make SOfT work well for how-to guides, or more structured knowledge - you can have articles, collections, communities and tags, but it all is not really the same.

The biggest problem is finding something you don't know about that even exists. When you have a starting point for the whole documentation, you learn the concepts you need to be aware of. With the question/answer approach, it's not really possible because you don't know that you need to even ask about something or search for a specific question.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's about having up-to-date knowledge persisted in a way that is easy to consume and keep relevant.

  ### 22. Great for Finding Information, But AI Features Should Be Included

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kashif Umair L. | Senior Product Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 22, 2024

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

What I like best about Stack Overflow for Teams is how effortlessly it helps me find the information I'm looking for. The search functionality, combined with the robust tagging and categorization options, makes locating relevant answers and documentation a breeze. This feature alone has saved me so much time and increased my productivity significantly.

Additionally, the platform encourages a collaborative environment where asking questions and sharing answers is straightforward and engaging, making knowledge sharing within our team seamless and efficient.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

One thing I dislike about Stack Overflow for Teams is that using AI features requires an additional payment. It would be great if AI capabilities were included within our current package. Having AI support as part of the standard offering would make the platform even more valuable and accessible for everyone on the team.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Stack Overflow for Teams solves the problem of quickly finding and organizing information within our team. It streamlines the process of searching for answers and accessing relevant documentation, which used to be time-consuming and frustrating. This efficiency boost means we spend less time hunting for information and more time being productive. The collaborative features also make it easy for us to ask questions and share knowledge, leading to better communication and faster problem-solving within the team.

  ### 23. StackOverflow Search Functionality

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Accounting | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 17, 2025

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

I usually find that the answers for the questions are correct, as they are answered by competent people

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

I dislike the search, it is really hard to find similar question. You'll need to be exact with the wording for it to find similar questions.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It provides a Q/A platform that you can trust and understand the nuances. Ideally you would like to have company documentation linked to the answer/question. That way you can deepen your knowledge

  ### 24. Efficient Knowledge Sharing with Some Search Limitations

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consulting | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 02, 2025

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

It provides a centralized space for sharing knowledge, reducing repeated questions and improving team efficiency.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

The search functionality could be more intuitive, and sometimes older answers remain visible despite being outdated.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Stack Overflow for Teams helps store and share technical knowledge, making it easier to solve problems, keep projects consistent, and collaborate efficiently. It saves time by reducing repeated questions and keeping important information accessible.

  ### 25. A One Stop Shop to Share Knowledge

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Charles T. | Software Engineer III, Information Technology and Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 13, 2024

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

I like how it's a centralized location where everyone can share the knowledge they have collected over the years to help co-workers resolve issues that they are encountering.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

The overall layout and navigation could be more streamlined and even have issues classified and grouped together.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is a centralized location where colleagues can document issues, concerns, and defects to make everyone aware of or request help with. There is so much leanred knowledge in our industry, it is hard to share that with co-workers, but now that can be shared and documented so that others who come across the same issue can look up the resolution for themselves without having to ask a question that others have already answered before.

  ### 26. Stack Overflow Never dissapoints

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mohit M. | Tech Lead, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 24, 2025

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

Proper suggestions and upvotes.
Verified answers are always the best

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

Sometimes too many answers distracts us. It is more meaningful if unrelated answers are removed based on downvotes or some logic.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sometimes some issues related to platform and configurations takes too much time to resolve. Stack Overflow most of the times would have answers for things like this.

  ### 27. Useful tool for internal teams

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 25, 2025

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

Great for collaboration, internal knowledge base

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

Sometimes questions can remain unanswered and "dead". We don't have good governance over this internally but I'm not sure if this is also something SO Teams could help us solve.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Creating an internal knowledge base - not only engineering need to answer questions, any SME can reply on there.

  ### 28. Great place to ask questions, document shared knowledge, etc.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 12, 2023

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

1. We can have a single source of truth for questions
2. The Slack integration for easily seeing activity
3. The onboarding partners were super helpful
4. The tag management system is great - I can subscribe to the tags I am interested in
5. Voting is sweet - allows us to look at valid answers

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

1. There is no ingestion process - so all content needs to be added from scratch. With all the LLM these days, there should be a place to take the Slack content from our relevant Slack channels and at least have semi structured Q&A that we can start from in StackOverflow.
2. The SME concept is good, but it was not a great fit for us
3. Too much gamification for a work platform IMHO with the bronze, silver, gold medals, etc.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- I get to share my knowledge for the areas I am the SME for
- Knowledge is in one place with context and can be shared amongst more people to whom it is relevant
- Reduced time spent on Slack - can potentially unsubscribe from a bunch of Slack channels as we move them to SO

  ### 29. Excellent for Building an Internal Knowledge Base, But Pricing May Be a Concern

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 03, 2024

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

I think it shines in its ability to centralize knowledge within an organization. The platform allows easy access to a vast repository of information, ensuring that team members can find answers to their questions quickly without having to search through various channels. The familiar interface, similar to the public Stack Overflow, makes onboarding seamless for developers. I particularly appreciate the tagging and search functionalities, which streamline finding relevant information and ensure that knowledge is well-organized and accessible to everyone. The ability to collaborate and share insights in real time within a private, secure environment also fosters a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

Its pricing model can be a bit steep for smaller teams or startups. The cost may not be justifiable for organizations that are not fully utilizing all its capabilities. Additionally, the platform's reliance on user-generated content means that its value depends heavily on team members' participation. If engagement is low, the knowledge base can quickly become stagnant, leading to outdated or incomplete information. Having more tools to encourage and track team participation would be beneficial, ensuring that the knowledge base remains dynamic and up-to-date.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Addresses the challenge of knowledge silos within organizations. By providing a centralized platform for sharing and accessing information, it ensures that valuable insights and solutions are not lost in emails, chats, or personal notes. This not only saves time by reducing repetitive questions but also helps in onboarding new team members more efficiently. For us, the platform has significantly improved collaboration, as team members can easily reference past discussions, solutions, and best practices, leading to more informed decision-making and faster problem-solving. The overall impact is a more cohesive and knowledgeable team, driving productivity and innovation.

  ### 30. It has been a good place to find quick solution to complicated issues

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Accounting | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

The way you can just write a question and someone an answer but the entire team can check this question and response any time. Also someone else queue contribute at anytime

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

Hard to filter some topics, some tags and categories don't filter some topics

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's great site to check Q&A, for any topic.

  ### 31. Great knowledge base platform, but the search could be better

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Neil M. | Full Stack Software Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 22, 2024

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

It's very easy to ask a question to your colleagues or share your own knowlege Q&A. It has centralized our documentation so that I can take any question I have to our Stack Overflow and either find the answer, or know that it hasn't been documented. The markdown support allows for easy and pleasing formatting of questions and answers.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

It can be hard to find the article you're looking for by search, which lowers your overall confidence in the system. It seems like you need to have at least a few words from the title in your search for it to match, and similar terms yield no results. Tags don't really seem to effect the search much and if you update the title to include a new term, the search won't update to reflect that term until a while later, more than a few mintues.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps us centralize all of our documentation for all processes, instructions, and questions across the whole company.

  ### 32. Great knowledge base for our team

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 10, 2025

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

Stack Overflow for teams serves as a great repository of knowledge for our teams. As well as asking questions for others to answer, we often write and answer questions ourselves in order to preserve a process or piece of information for future use by ourselves or others within the team.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

No major downsides for us, everything we need is catered for.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We had sources of knowledge all over the place. Stack Overflow for teams helps us to consolodate these.

  ### 33. The power of StackOverflow with the convenience of custom company solutions

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anai A. | Project Management Director, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 29, 2024

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

All the capabilities that make Stack Overflow great are available, is easy to use, the upvote or downvote features, the contributing badges, the tagging system ... but the teams version enables to curate the content and limit the responses to only relevant and really useful answers.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

Teams need information organized in specific ways (hierarchies and other) and also the ability to control the access to certain info relevant to some groups only. Nevertheless, this is not a major issue compared with all the benefits of using it.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The information is centralized and easy to find in a way that most of our software developers are familiar with.

  ### 34. Just like the normal stack overflow experience but for our company

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 10, 2025

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

The fact I can use this exactly how I would use stack overflow is perfect for our organisation, it's easy to search through and find exactly what I need relevant to our organisation.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

Remembering to move the questions over to stack overflow and the login process can be a bit long winded

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Having a team that is evolving over a startup organisation it is very useful to have an archive of common questions

  ### 35. Great for creating knowledge articles

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 18, 2025

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

Easy to user and refer back to issues that are raised internally

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

not very easy to find the relevant content unless they've been tagged appropriately

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

centralized, searchable knowledge base without the duplication of efforts

  ### 36. The best of its class to create a searchable knowledge base for the team

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Juan A. | Project Lead, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 22, 2024

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

The Q&A format is the best in class to create a searchable knowledge base for the entire team. From development to support and operations, all will benefit from the format and all, in a very n atural way, will construct a knowledge base that, on the long run, will save you tons of time.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

There's no downsides of using the product that I'm aware of.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It starts by helping the team communicate in an effective maner to solve technical problems on a daily basis. The people with the actual knowledge use the tag system to keep an eye on new questions that require their expertise.
Once a problem is posted as a question and an answer is made to that question, the entire team have access to that information and all the team, including the new members will benefit for the rest of the life from the _expert_ knowledge posted in the answer.

The Wiki format allows the posters, but also other members of the team to further refine the question and the answer(s) to that question, so you can have not only the general knowledge, but very specific solutions to very specific problems.

  ### 37. Excellent knowledge platform

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 30, 2023

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

It's a clear and easy-to-use option that allows teams to collaborate by storing and updating knowledge in a centralized location. I use SOfT fairly regularly, and it works great. I like that it has a familiar interface (similar to public Stack Exchange sites), while still being great for collaboration with a team. Storing information in Stack Overflow for Teams (instead of scattered in multiple locations) has been a major benefit of it.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

A few features aren't easy for individuals to use, and it would be nice if administrators could give users access to them, rather than the user having to earn the privilege or the admin having to do it (some voting, assigning Subject Matter Experts).

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Stack Overflow is useful for keeping information in one spot that's easy to access and update as needed. Using Stack Overflow for Teams is great for improved sharing of knowledge between individuals.

  ### 38. Great tool for sharing knowledge

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

its a centrlized place for knowledge

  ### 39. Perfect tool for sharing informations through teams

The fact that the information can be nicely organised in categories (questions, manuals...)

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

No downside about using stack overflow for teams

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Information sharing

  ### 40. Stack Overflow: Product Usefulness, Overall Development Team Integration

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andrew S. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 25, 2024

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

I enjoy the same features of Stack Overflow with my team, privately.

It comes with easy documentation to set up the Q&A and Knowledge Base, and the Team integration will be used also.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

During Biden's term and the Insurrection, I have paid for years and have not been able to find access time, but I will use it. That is just something that happened.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It will benefit me in starting computer technology in teams, privately. In the future, it may develop more publicly.

  ### 41. I like the concept of having private teams

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Prerak T. | Technical Architect, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 27, 2023

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

The best thing about SO Teams is the concept of creating a private team and how you can integrate it with MS Teams or Slack. It makes things easy for the new team members to find answers to most common questions.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

So far, the experience is good, and I can't think of anythink that makes me dislike it.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The primary goal is to create a knowledge base for our project so that new team members can gain most out of it.

  ### 42. Sounds better than then really is

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 29, 2024

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

Most of it, to be honest, I'm a very much fun of the platform, I have used the public one, community versions (i.e. Salesforce) and now our own one, and it's a really powerful platform for helping developers.
If I have to say I thing, I'd go for sure for the search engine, it only takes a few seconds to find the question you are searching in case it exists.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

The most, considering our own experience, is to have been charged by inactive users when we were not notified at all in any part of the process it'd happen (and in the T&Cs it is not completed clear how users should be managed on this sense). Even after deleting them as suggested, the charges were not modified.
The second point, and this may be more related to us, is how to engage users. There are some users strongly using the tool, but most of our users do not and keep using more traditional channels: slack, github, etc, so our doc desentralisation problem did not improve but the opposite.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keeping common questions in a single space accesible by all users and avoiding SMEs to continuosly answer the same doubts. Even so, reaching some these SMEs directly by chat or raising the question in open channels is a more frequent path than using SO.

  ### 43. Knowledge base for everything that's happening in the company

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 07, 2025

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

Safe space for everyone to ask and answer questions

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

Embedding images / code is difficult - formatting will become off.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed a centralized place to revisit all the commonly asked questions and as well in-depth articles for topics, and SO for Teams is great for that.
The content health revisit feature is also good.

  ### 44. It's a familiar website which is a huge improvement over most other internal documentation sites

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 04, 2024

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

The ease of use due to brand recognition and familiarity. A lot of other competitive systems tend to not support absolutely basic features like syntax highlighting, markdown, etc... which are crucial for technical documentation.

The navigation of the site also obviously benefits from being derived from a public site with years of refinement.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

It could handle widescreens better by allowing the actual feed to be wider on wide screens. There might be good reasoning not to do it, but it seems to me like the one thing that sticks out.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is used at my company to document internal processes and systems. It works quite well for that.

  ### 45. Stack Overflow Teams Review

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rivan C. | Senior Solution Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 26, 2024

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

We can easily share with everyone and it is good for documentation as well. Stack Overflow also has documentation that helps us to be effective when asking questions and answering the questions as well.

It is easy to use and easy to spread tips and tricks.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

I can not see any negative in Stack Overflow yet.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The problem that is solved is increased collaboration, easy documentation and trigger for good culture as well.

  ### 46. SO for teams!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 10, 2025

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

It really makes life easier for teams, and I can see this on a daily basis!

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

I don't think there is anything that I don't like about SO for Teams!

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It keeps our huge database for us to refer to whenever we need to.

  ### 47. Effective solution for a "company wiki" and Q&A forum

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Robert B. | Application Consultant, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 23, 2024

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

It's an effective solution for a "company wiki" and internal support forum that is already structured in a format programmers and IT professionals are familiar with - stackoverflow. The ability to ask questions, tag them, and sometimes post your own anwers to those questions makes it easy to seek help from multiple colleagues at once, even ones you haven't interacted with before.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

As a new hire, it can be difficult to know where to "start reading" existing posts to start picking up on company knowledge. If you don't know what question to ask (or what search terms to use) then you can still end up without direction. Remember, just like any other documentation system, you need people dedicated to producing and maintaining content. If people aren't doing that, this isn't helpful.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Stack Overflow for Teams is helping me get up to speed on a new hire about company best practices and get help when I get stuck.

  ### 48. A great knowledge base for growing teams

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Banking | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 30, 2024

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

SO is a useful knowledge base for us, in a format that is familiar to anybody who ever needed to centre an element on a web page. I like that it gives pretty decent search results, and more often than not people will find what they need without having to ask on Slack. When writing a new question, it will offer you search results for similar articles, often saving you from duplicating something that has already been answered.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

The downside is needing to ask the questions in the first place. Often, if my question hasn't already been asked on SO, I will go to Slack as I can get quicker responses. While this means I get an answer sooner, I'm usually also asked to raise (and immediately answer) the question myself on SO.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Having a clearly-formatted and easily-searchable knowledge base for the entire business is extremely useful, as it helps me to avoid distracting others with questions that have already been answered.

  ### 49. Can become an informative and accessible knowledge source if you've the right peers to guide you

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Utilities | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 16, 2023

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

It is an excellent communication channel and allows you to gather information from people across multiple departments. Moreover, the user interface is very simple, so a person with minimal computer expertise can use it.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

I do not see any features that I dislike.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am part of the engineering team in my company. I use it to ask questions about our different product designs. Consulting senior engineers and construction leads through Stack expedites the design process, as I can shortlist the configurations based on the advice I get from company experts.

  ### 50. Excellent Overall Knowledgebase Service

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 12, 2024

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

Used SO for Teams for a group knowledgebase offering. Found the service very easy to maintain and collaborate on. Specifically liked the interface for detailing articles, and the ability to vote and have a 'competitive' scoring system for users!

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

The only thing we found was that during the initial trial, our system became unvailable a couple of times.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Lacking a clear and centralised place to maintain documentation, Q&A. SO solved this problem as it's very clear and powerful to keep this organised.
