## Stack Overflow Internal Reviews
  ### 1. Good experience

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 23, 2023

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

I like the content sharing it allow. It's another approach unlike trello or wiki. It's a more collaborative method in my view. I like the support around it too.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

What I disliked in the product start was the need to be on StackOverflow to be able to see SO for Team, but this year it was changed luckilly to a stand alone portal. It feel more standalone and it bring a balance if you want a personnal account on SO vs a corporate account on SO for Team

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It solve the issue of having Q/A that finish as knowledge base.

  ### 2. Best know-how library ever - "as we all know"

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 23, 2023

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

It is possible to share your knowledge rapidly. and you don't need to feel hesitated when you need to ask the same thing for the third time.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

UI is not so friendly and for enterprise version it is a bit confusing to login to your own teams stack wall. And could be great if a question has an ID in it

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have a young and agile organisation but it comes with a big turn-over . when a colleague leave the company and new people gets on board it is more likely to keep on agile path.

  ### 3. simple, familiar product

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 10, 2023

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

It is easy to use and the format is familiar. Teams can produce solutions fastly.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

The format is useful for simple bottlenecks and I do not know where stackoverflow position itself with this product. If one is expected to use this platform just like the main product (stackoverflow) then it lacks some crucial tools for team needs. A team needs more structured, longer solution flow in my opininon and as far as I have used this product, I could not get to see something like that.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a student group learnnig a programming language we are encouraged to collaborate on the problems we might encounter during homeworks etc. In that sense it has done its job for me.

  ### 4. We implemented it a bit ago, looks very promising!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Events Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 18, 2023

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

It serves the double purpose of opening threads to answer questions asynchronously and being a source of documentation for the team. The longer we use it, the better!

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

It's a bit hard for smaller teams to get used to it in the beginning: it's usually easier to tap your workmate's shoulder and just ask what you want to ask instead of interrupting your workflow and typing down a question

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As said before, it helps us create documentation while asking questions we would have asked regardless. The documentation comes as a really nice freebie! The key difference between this and asking stuff on a messaging platform is the easiness in the searchability of the resources

  ### 5. Using Stack Overflow for Teams to share leadership and management experiences

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 05, 2023

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

Stack Overflow for Teams makes collaborating with your coworkers easy, even on nontechnical issues. Instead of relying on email or chat, which may be hard to index information in, you can ask and answer categorized questions within the platform, ensuring everyone is on the same page and that knowledge is shared more effectively.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

I wish I could mention other users answers while writing mine. I understand that this is an intentional behaviour at Stack Overflow, but sometimes I miss the ability to mention and complement what others have written.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

One of the critical problems that Stack Overflow for Teams solves is the issue of knowledge silos. Without a centralized knowledge base, important information can get trapped in the heads of individual team members, making it difficult for others to access that knowledge when needed. By providing a platform where team members can share their experiences, Stack Overflow for Teams ensures that knowledge is shared more effectively across the organization.

  ### 6. Stack Overflow for Teams: Good tool for enhancing Knowledge Sharing and Technical Problem Solving

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

When asked about what I dislike about Stack Overflow for Teams, there are two aspects worth mentioning. First, the limitation that comments on answers can only be edited within the first 5 minutes is frustrating. It would be more convenient to have a longer editing window. Second, the inability to rate or evaluate responses to answers is a drawback. It would be beneficial to have the option to provide feedback on those responses as well.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Solves knowledge silos, speeds problem-solving, fosters learning and collaboration, enhances productivity.

  ### 7. Ok

Classifying questions with tags

  ### 8. It gives my team the power of stack overflow but in a private and controlled environment.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 03, 2023

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

This is very useful as it serves as a secondary knowledge base for us.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

I am satisfied thus far - no complaints.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have persons on our team with varying knowledge and skills. It helps us to not only share information but also maintain a record of questions and answers for all team members to learn and grow.

  ### 9. Great Experience for Teams

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 20, 2023

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

The most helpful thing for stack teams is the knowledge sharing for the whole organization. This is what allows me to get help from a large company and helps with the focus relative to just the internet

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

It can be hard to find topics and questions that I need. It also does not do the best job of pushing out new questions that I might be able to help with. These would maek it better

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps get knowledge to a huge organization and helps me to easily find and get answers relative to just asking around. It also helps me see if other people are having the same problems.

  ### 10. All the joy of Stack Overflow but with information specific to your team & company

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 21, 2023

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

It's a familiar interface because we're already used to using Stack Overflow. It has benefits over, say, Slack, because the "correct" answer can be "accepted" and answers can be edited over time as information changes.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

There isn't anything I dislike about Stack Overflow for teams.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

There are constantly new engineers joining, and the tooling we use is constantly changing. So we need a single source of truth (again, relative to say, Slack, Notion, etc.) for answers to common questions.

  ### 11. Best tool for technical information sharing at organisation level

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ajinkya B. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 05, 2023

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

Stack Overflow for Teams is useful to manage technical queries which arrive at the organization level, Also it is useful for knowledge sharing and helping other teammates with technical/configuration-related issues.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

The search for Stack Overflow for Teams does not seem as effective as the main StackOverflow website, As sometimes it does not show the correct question we look for.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps the organization build its knowledge base and also indirectly contributes to the knowledge-sharing activity of the organization by awarding users with reputation points that encourage them to share their knowledge.

  ### 12. Very easy to use

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Weili D. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 08, 2023

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

Very easy to use to post a question. And the search is pretty good.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

You can't upload GIF's or videos. I like to record a screen video to show how to solve a problem, but there is no way to share that video!

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A lot of valuable questions and answers live in Slack conversations. But Slack conversations are sometimes private, and the search functionality in Slack isn't really made for Q&A. Also, when Slack needs a migration, or when a person leaves the company, that conversation might become unsearcheable.

  ### 13. so good but still can get better

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mohammad R. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 11, 2023

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

Privacy - We have one place to store our technical topics and answers the good thing is that they all are private and no one outside of the organization can access it.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

sometimes it's confusing maybe having stack overflow for the team and stack overflow account in one place would be a good idea since sometimes I have trouble finding my team from the original website

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

storing knowledge privately and avoiding the leak of confidential data and FAQs for engineers. we can keep this questions and knowledge for future engineers and design deccions make sense for them in the future since they can see the decision making process

  ### 14. Invaluable tool for companies and teams

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Christopher M. | Advanced Software Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 23, 2023

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

I like that I get rewarded for asking and answering questions (rep) and getting the reward of not having to re-answer the same question a dozen times. There's also the benefit of knowing that the more I use it, the more others will use it, and therefore the more likely it is that the question I have will already exist and will have an answer when I am looking for it. Not to mention the times that I ask and answer a question and then forget the answer in six months and can come back and see the answer I left for my future self.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

It needs a sort of critical mass of interested users. If you go there and there's a bunch of unanswered questions and your question never gets attention/answers you're probably not going to go back. Initial implementation is precarious and can easily just die on the vine. The number 1 thing you need is a core group of dedicated experts to help drive adoption. Basically, get the people who are being asked the most questions the most often and get them to drive adoption. This can be a hard sell for some people.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is often hard to figure out who to talk to in a large company. Trying to figure out "who do I need to ask this question to" can be almost as hard to answer as the question itself. With Stack Overflow for Teams, it makes it much easier to get the question routed to the correct person.

Stack Overflow for Teams also makes it so that the same questions don't keep getting asked over and over again, and helps fill in the gaps left by poor documentation.

  ### 15. Quick and Easy

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Banking | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 25, 2023

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

Every developer knows how to use Stackoverflow in general. Creates knowledgebase for the community. Less and less repeating questions over time. less time spend onboarding new members

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

Freemium version is good enought for mos of the things but sometimes you really need to have paid version which is kind of expensive considering users of the Stackoverflow for teams are companies that has more than 100 developers. It makes this product very expensive.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Less time spent on repeating questions. Saves time of more experienced developers by creating knowledgebase inside the company. Makes technical interactions fast and easy

  ### 16. Great as a knowledge source

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Program Development | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 30, 2023

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

It's perfect to create a big knowledge source for the company insights, giving answers to commonly asked questions that will be lost in other platforms.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

If you're not used to it, it can be a bit overwhelming at the beginning to use all features in the right way.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We as a team have been asking the same questions multiple times on Slack, Basecamp or other platforms. Having them here allows us to find them with a quick search.

  ### 17. Easy and fast to use

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sean A. | Mr, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 15, 2023

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

It is straightforward to quickly and easily build up a knowledge base of information for your business.

The editor is excellent, and being able to paste images directly into it is fantastic!

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

Well, since I'm currently using the free version - there isn't much to dislike!

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easily share knowledge, but also on a third-party hosted platform, this is great incase you have internal issue that you might need to reach documents on how to recover them.

  ### 18. Rich with great features compiled in an easy to use platform

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mohamed T. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 13, 2023

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

The ability to create tagged questions and answers that we can reuse later as our team's knowledge base is perfect. Also, the team's administration settings and personalization are powerful and easy to use.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

I don't dislike anything important far. It is all good to me, and a great asset to our team's future knowledge base; one thing to improve maybe the invitation emails should be sent from a sender mail represents more StackOverflow as people thought the sender was spam when I sent invitations.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The problem that was solved is documenting all our knowledge base as a team, which we would do as notes on MS Teams and another platform, but Stackoverflow for teams is now the right way to do it.

  ### 19. The best site to search and share IT knowledge

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Oil & Energy | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 04, 2023

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

That you can find answers to all types of questions no matter how easy or how complicated an answer is.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

Some answers are not that friendly but it is a way of saying dont do that to prevent extra use of resources or waste of time.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My client has a company wide stackoverflow site were all employees have asked and responded questions, so we all as a whole are sharing info and learning.

  ### 20. Great toll, change behaviour is the challenge

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 30, 2023

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

Reputations for people who help the most and be able to kudo people who create great questions and answers.
Plus, the possibility of having a tool that can connect product, costumer support and engineers

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

I know we have the Slack integration, and we are working on it to use it better, but the need for a new website and maybe the price. I'm not saying it doesn't add value, it adds for sure but is a blocker to make my company purchase one more think to work. Would be interesting a roll-out plan. Like we have 50 free spaces and on the first year you only pay for the spaces above it. So changing from 50 people to 51 would be a difference of 6$ and not 306$ =D

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Stackoverflow search is much better than other tools, making it easy for people to find what they want
People get notified on the topics they care about/know
People are keener to help because of reputation (custom badges to come)
Deal with stale documentation because people can edit/provide new answers

  ### 21. Great place for knowledge transfer

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2023

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

Stack Overflow for Teams acts as a kind of mix between a forum and a Wiki, where the pages organically become living documents. The questions specific to private codebases help with getting up to speed and fixing issues more quickly. It is also helpful in identifying key maintainers in specific areas of the code.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

Everything working as expected so far. There needs to be a certain number of active people on the site for it to be very useful, so maybe there could be a way to incentivise users to join.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Big company, big codebase, lots of stakeholders. Effective communication needs to be facilitated, and that starts with the same question being asked as few times as possible.

  ### 22. Good for finding answers

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 27, 2023

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

I liked to use to finding answers to complicate techincal questions

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

I need to click to login with SSO, instead can use SSO directly

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Help to solve techinical questions

  ### 23. Helpful space to consolidate knowledge

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2023

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

It's helpful to have a deep knowledge base in a place where questions and answers can be documented for future users to search and see. In particular, the search feature is helpful and I find that it's easy to find questions on a particular topic.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

It's not as "quick" as using some sort of shared company messaging service. There isn't a real-time notification to let you know when your question has been answered, so it requires checking back.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Engineering questions and hurdles. With specific issues, I'm able to post a question on S/O teams and see whether any of my teammates have encountered the same issue, or have an idea on how to solve.

  ### 24. Amazingly Comprehensive and Straightforward

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Logistics and Supply Chain | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 15, 2023

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

The ability to direct questions to members, the point system and integration with microsoft teams.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

My team members don't use it enough. There isn't a mobile app (ios)

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Team Learning/Knowledge Sharing

  ### 25. Great Knowledge Sharing Experience

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Steven B. | Developer, Insurance, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 21, 2023

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

I love asking my colleagues questions and knowing that the answers will be easily searchable when other people have the same question.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

I feel like Stack Overflow is a developer brand, so non-developers have been hesitant to sign up, and therefore, I cannot ask questions of them.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am trying to learn a vendor's system to assume day-to-day maintenance. With Stack Overflow for Teams, I can ask questions of developers from the vendor to learn what I need to learn and build a knowledge base for other developers at the company at the same time.

  ### 26. Great Knowledge Resource

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 14, 2023

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

The most helpful is being able to search for specific questions depending on the tag category. It's been a good experience using Stack Overflow so far, I think it's a helpful resource to share knowledge and find answers to questions you may have

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

One downside is that I cannot easily copy and paste my posts with pictures into a new post. The format changes.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Stack Overflow is helping solve questions that I have as an employee about internal practices in our company. This is beneficial to me so I know where to go to if I have a question instead of asking someone on my team.

  ### 27. A great way to organize the team knowledge

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Imanol P. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 13, 2023

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

It's great to organize the team questions. Search works efficiently. The team also finds really convenient to use the tags to find info for certain specific topics.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

Something that could be better is to have a way on the front page to identify the most active users easily. That way we could encourage and praise them.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The main problem that Stack Overflow is solving is that the team were not able to find solutions to common problems. The information was scattered around Confluence and Slack, but it was hard to find or outdated. The team members were asking the same questions over and over and solutions were not easy to share.

  ### 28. SO for Teams is an excellent resource for large companies in which knowledge sharing is difficult.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 12, 2023

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

The guidance when setting up an account was very helpful.
I love how all info is stored and easily accessible to anyone in the company.
Filtering and searching for old questions are great tools to have when looking for information.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

Complications regarding tags and best practices for implementation make it hard to get off the ground easily.
I think an essential setup guide with optional tag administration guidance would be helpful

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tracking all old questions and making them accessible to new users so they can find the answers themselves.
This is super helpful since anyone can edit the answers as policies change

  ### 29. Helpful application, but bugs and lack of incentive for answering questions leave more to be desired

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tate M. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 02, 2023

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

It's a convenient and organized place to document all of the questions/answers team members have or will have in the future. It's a much more convenient place to record general FAQs that may pop up compared to Slack, Google Docs, or someplace else.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

The text input is buggy (trying to use snake_case in code blocks italicizes the code for instances, which from what I can tell doesn't happen on regular SO). Also, the bounty system works identically to regular SO, which I see as a problem because it doesn't encourage long-unanswered questions to be resolved since team members have to sacrifice their own karma to get a question answered. In an open platform this makes sense, but for teams, the goal should be to get all questions answered.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SO for Teams is providing our team with an organized and familiar means of posting questions and answers for issues that teammates often run into. This allows us to resolve issues quickly and access old questions if someone else runs into a problem that's been taken care of before.

  ### 30. Solved the best of our random issues

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

SO for Teams has many of the features of the main, public Stack Overflow site. As such, it is a great Q&A site. We use it is parallel with MS Teams and with email. It is used for more permanent and easily searchable knowledge repository. We also have a wiki, and other knowledge repositories. Stack Overflow for Teams is a big part of the overall process of getting your question answered by other people, and also reusing this answer by others who have a similar question.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

Some minor features of Stack Overflow main public site are missing. For example, some tag handling features. I cannot use Google, of course, to search the internal Stack Overflow for Teams. I wish they also had a Google search box in parallel with native SO for Teams search.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Knowledge repo and Q&A site was missing for us.

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

StackOverflow is beneficial for the more obscure scenarios we come across. It is an excellent tool for training new team members. It is nice to store most of the information we need in one area. I also like the search function to find related questions.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

The only downside is that sometimes I forget it is an available option for us to get our questions answered.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Stack Overflow allows us to store important information in one area instead of searching for it in multiple places or having to bug coworkers for answers.

  ### 39. Great Central Knowledge Base

I like that answers are reliable for company-specific issues. The full benefit of Stack Overflow for Teams comes from the quality of the employees' solutions, and by having a great staff and a great forum tool, things get communicated company-wide very quick and accurate.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

I wish there were links to find similar subjects on public Stack Overflow, so that a quick and easy internet resource can supplement internal issues. Privacy of company concerns is also a plus for this application, so keeping that separate from the public forum is a necessity.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helping me solve design problems that are specific to the company, as well as specific issues that can be solved with different versions of our internal software.

  ### 40. Sharing and retrieving information for my business--the same way I do for code--is bliss.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael S. | Founder, CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

I'm using Stack Overflow for Teams for a side business. We sell a technically sophisticated product and all the ordering, assembly, site management, etc, is done by a small team otherwise known as "my family." Everyone has different aspects of the business that they are the ones most familiar with. Many, many tasks are only done once in a while, yet it's imperative that they are done quickly and correctly when needed. Each time I find myself wondering "wait, what's the procedure for that again?" I add a question to my SO Teams instance. I get whoever has the expertise on it to write the answer, and, when I use the answer again, I edit over time to improve it.

Keeping track of all of these kinds of details was stressful because I would forget the details in the sporadic intervals between needing to do infrequent tasks. Knowing that the answers to "how do I do X" will be at my fingertips with a quick search has completely removed that source of stress from my life.

As a software engineer, I use the public Stack Overflow all the time for this kind of thing--details about how to set up my git environment that I only use when starting a new job, for example. I'm extremely happy that I can use the same kind of knowledge retrieval for other parts of my life. I highly recommend to any small business owner like myself--or any large one for that matter. Tribal knowledge is so hard to capture, but SO Teams makes it easy and pleasant to do.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

I suppose one downside is that I should probably have some kind of organized documentation for all of my procedures, but since I know the instructions are in SO Teams, I don't bother. And in my particular situation, there's a bit of recurring stress because I'm using it for a side business that is only running intermittently. I get emails about it being inactive and in danger of deletion (I'm still using the free tier--business is still in startup mode) if the intervals between use go too long. That wouldn't be a problem for someone in one of the paid tiers, though.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have many instances of information that I need only on an intermittent basis. We are a small team and we all wear a lot of hats. The kinds of things we need to know include things like "what is the procedure for shipping through X provider" or "how do we process a purchase order" that only comes up occasionally, and the person that knows may not be available or you might be "the person that knows" but you don't do it often enough to remember all the details. Having this kind of knowledge in the same Q&A format that I use to search for all my technical knowledge is just a huge blessing and gives me peace of mind.

  ### 41. Great platform to ensure knowledge sharing in organization

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consulting | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 21, 2023

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

Easy to ask questions from peers
Great way to encourage and archive knowledge sharing across company
Easy to search past questions to look for solutions to common issues

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

May be a little pricey for smaller businesses that can't use their free plan and are just above 50 users. Integrations to applications like JIRA are another huge bump in price.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Solutions to problems that were coming up repeatedly were not properly documented. As such knowledge was often lost, or siloed. Stack overflow allows this knowledge to more easily be shared and archived for better future efficiency.

  ### 43. Easy way to share knowledge with team and reduce dumb questions from team members

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Diana Elizabeth O. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 27, 2023

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

Stack Overflow for Teams is not different from regular Stack Overflow. No need to say that every developer knows how to use it. Accessible to search, easy to ask, and easy to answer. No need for internal posts, emails or complicated things like Confluence.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

It might take some time to build a decent knowledge base there. Teams should consider if some of their questions can be handled directly on regular Stack Overflow, instead of moving everything.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Platforms evolve, and new issues arise all the time. Sharing how to solve new problems with our team help us spend more time coding and less time solving bugs.

  ### 44. Its a helpful way to share and store knowledge

i like the simple way of how to navigate the asking and answering of questions, helps i been using stackoverflow for a while so the familiarty of the whole thing made it really easy to use

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

the amount of engagement people have, it almost seems like 5 to 10 people out of a company of over 200 people are the most engaging and that its ok, it just seems intresting how it would be if more poeple where using it more frequently.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

i guess a way of documenting thigs right now, we do not have much history of documenting knowledge, so its been really helpfull in that aspect. Performance hasnt increased perse but we havent been using it for long. its been fun asking and aswering questions

  ### 45. Stack overflow for teams is a surprisingly pleasant way to create a knowledge base

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

Its very easy to find existing questions about a subject to avoid repetition.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

The dark theme weirdly feels more cluttered than the light theme.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In my team we tend to answer the same questions quite a lot. SO lets us answer it once and then proceed to share it on further asks saving us much time.

  ### 46. Stack Overflow for Teams

Its easy to use, accesible, allows for tracking of questions and doubts across topics

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

The authentication and invitations keep expiring - not exactly sure what that issue is, since I am not the admin

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Maininting a orginization wise question bank, saves time on repeated knowledge transfers

  ### 47. Great tool for team building and tracking QnA

Its feature like reputations, badges are a good thing to build constructive competition in firm.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

Nothing everything is good, I have used Opensource community for StackOverflow and it serves the same purpose.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The repetitive question being asked on slack and needs to be look further or ask again is annoying it helps in maintaining internal encyclopedia.

  ### 48. Nice tool for building up a knowledge base

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gerhard G. | Head Of Development, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 14, 2023

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

Every developer know stackoverflow and all the mechanics there are. This helps to narrow the scope to the topics that actually affect our team and our company.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

As with all tools, quality and acceptance is based on the users and the community behind it. Getting everyone to use and contribute is the main issue here. The hive is much smaller than in the "real" stackoverflow and so it tends to become a bubble among those that use it anyway.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Moving from sending every question in teams or emails and forgetting about it to a learning organisation that can tackle issues that have already been solved even when the senior persons are not available.

  ### 49. Great for consolidating business knowledge in one place

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 05, 2023

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

That when I go to ask question, it often finds other previously asked questions that lead me to the answer myself.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

Sometimes questions can be phrased so differently they do end up getting asked multiple times.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We often have a lot of business knowledge about the product and codebase that has been traditionally been siloed in specific teams or individuals, so having the entire company from support staff to developers able to ask and answer each other's questions distills that knowledge out into a single, searchable place.

  ### 50. The ultimate Tech questions network for your business

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Talmeez A. | Frontend Developer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 29, 2022

**What do you like best about Stack Overflow Internal?**

The fact that it creates threads for each coding question asked, and has upvotes and comments as well. You can just pick the most upvoted ones to be on the safe side.

**What do you dislike about Stack Overflow Internal?**

Sometimes there are too many right answers which work on multiple environments, makes is difficult to choose which one is best. As we all know, when it comes to code, there are multiple solutions available with their own pros and cons.

**What problems is Stack Overflow Internal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mostly the technical questions and code issues asked in teams helps a lot, it's much more easier than asking someone directly. Best thing is we can share code screenshots which you don't want to be public but still wanna discuss with your co workers.
