Squid is a caching proxy for the Web supporting HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, Gopher, SSL, and WAIS. This is an excellent solution to a variety of proxy and caching server needs, and scales from the branch office to enterprise level networks while providing extensive, granular access control mechanisms, and monitoring of critical parameters via the Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP). Squid reduces bandwidth and improves response times by caching and reusing frequently-requested web pages. Also, it has extensive access controls and makes a great server accelerator.

Squid proxy server is the best open-source solution for small or medium organizations. Its user interface with the web is excellent. You can manage it easily its very simple to manage

squid content filter can be better as its not filter properly and if this provide captive portal as well that would be great choice for any IT administrator content filter is basic required

**What problems is Squid 3.5 Proxy Server for Ubuntu Server 18.04 LTS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

we required for webfilter as hardware firewall is very costly and squid is open source so that not affect company's it budget and thats the major banifits which i guess
