## Squarespace Reviews
  ### 1. Easy to Build a Website with Squarespace

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jennifer G. | Small Business Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 25, 2021

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

I love how easy it is to use! I literally went into owning a business with no knowledge of how to build a website. Squarespace made it SO easy!

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

I don't feel like there are enough add-ons and extra apps for Squarespace when it comes to e-commerce. There are certain things that don't connect that I wish would.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Squarespace is allowing me to have the website I need to keep my dog treat business up and running!

  ### 2. Squarespace for web design

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Thea S. | ARSNK, Entertainment, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 30, 2017

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

I love the ease of use, it is essentially a lot of drag and drop options and the templates are really beautiful. It cuts down the time it would take to create layouts from scratch in other software.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

There are loss of limitations. For example you can not easily create websites that you can add members too or log in pages to areas of the site with databases etc. You can not easily also do some complex things in design such as really interesting ways to showcase video streaming: its very basic in many format areas. Also its full of compromises. You can have certain design functions in one template but then it means other design functions are prohibited. Its highly annoying

**Recommendations to others considering Squarespace:**

You will need to add additional CSS code to a lot of the pages to improve the functionality of the website you are creating. You will also need to chat with support often to make certain you are getting the most out of the platform fro your clients.
I also really feel that is worthwhile looking at other similar squarespace sites that you like to see if you can achieve something similar for your clients.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

There have been a lot of clients whom do not want to compromise of certain design aspects and functionality and as a result have looked elsewhere for a place to host their website.

  ### 3. Basic set up and start, was simple to follow and use.

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Health, Wellness and Fitness | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 12, 2021

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

I enjoyed the ease of use for the platform when just starting

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

Not a well known name in my social circle. A little less known

**Recommendations to others considering Squarespace:**

Take your time and you'll find it's easy to use

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The use of the page builder allowed me view from both sides to grow

  ### 4. Very easy to use, sharp looking

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 18, 2021

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

To me, these look no different from websites that companies paid ten times the price for. Very classy looking layouts and graphics. Very user-friendly and quick to make a webpage.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

Some features were not as customizable as I'd have liked them to be, but for the price you really couldn't expect much more.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helping small businesses to become more transparent and market themselves better.

  ### 5. Simple, yet Sophisticated, and Highly Recommended

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 17, 2021

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

Squarespace is so user friendly, easy to learn, completely customizable, and has more features than you could ever need on a website.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

Honestly nothing. It's an amazing platform.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I work for a marketing firm that provides website templates to clients that are all built on Squarespace. Even if clients have never used Squarespace before, it is simple and straightforward to learn as they go.

  ### 6. Squarespace use for online business

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Health, Wellness and Fitness | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 20, 2021

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

Squarespace is user-friendly and self-explanatory. For someone who is new to website building, I was able to create a website that I exactly imagined.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

I don't like that you cannot drag items around on the website builder. If you could add a text box or move a textbox without having to add a whole new page and change the layout, it would be beneficial.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easier access to fitness advice. I am able to reach a larger audience.

  ### 7. A great platform

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Regina C. | Owner of A Parent Company, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 19, 2021

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

The aesthetics and the profession layouts. User friendly analytics.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

It was difficult to set up email campaigns.

**Recommendations to others considering Squarespace:**

Stick with them. Just don't go to Marketing360

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I needed an e-commerce platform.

  ### 8. Squarespace is easiest solution for e-commerce!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Restaurants | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 30, 2021

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

The best thing about Squarespace is the ability to create a website populated with products that are ready to sell. I am in process of launching a new business and so far, it has been so easy to use!

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

There are no downsides to using Squarespace. It took me less than an hour to get set-up.

**Recommendations to others considering Squarespace:**

I recommend using it for businesses where you anticipate both in-person and online sales.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I personally don't have the time to build a website and manage sales both offline and on-line. Squarespace integrates this seamlessly. I can focus on selling product. I also love the reports, it will make my life easier during tax season.

  ### 9. SquareSpace is great for small businesses

**Reviewed Date:** November 18, 2021

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

When I volunteered for a local nonprofit we used Squarespace for their website. It was very easy to maintain.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

There was nothing I didn't like about it.

**Recommendations to others considering Squarespace:**

If you need a web presence and can't have web programmers, this platform is great!

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easy to maintain and update a website quickly.

  ### 10. Super easy & functional

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** J'nai C. | Account Executive, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 15, 2021

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

How easy it is to create a nice looking, sleek, professional website

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

They have consistently taken on pricing increases

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The ability to be my own designer and not pay someone each time i would like to make a change.

  ### 11. Squarespace is anything but square

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kristi P. | Chief Do-Gooder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 13, 2020

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

It takes a little getting used to, but once you've got the basics, it's very user-friendly and you can do so much with it. Even my interns find that they can get up to speed pretty quickly. And there are so many options with formatting and branding. I think it gives you enough choice and control to feel like you can do many things, but not so many that you mess up your branding and cohesive formatting. I've used Squarespace for almost four years, and have recommended it many times.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

I think the e-commerce side lacks some finesse and pizazz that the more experienced e-commerce websites and plug-ins have nailed. From what I've used so far, Squarespace is a little bulky and it seems harder to find settings that I need. I just don't think there are as many capabilities as the others yet either, but I think they are always improving it since users need that option. I also wish there were better SEO options/fields like there are with Wordpress. SEO is incredibly important, and I always feel that I'm missing something without the additional fields or a plugin like Yoast to guide me.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I've hosted my website on Squarespace for almost four years, and I get lots of unsolicited compliments the layout, look, and more. I also added some digital products almost two years ago, and that's been a good fit so far since my needs right now are simple.

  ### 12. Simple to use

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Religious Institutions | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 11, 2021

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

Clean interface and straightforward to edit once you spent an hour learning it's methods

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

Price- it's pretty expensive for what it offers

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Having a professional website so folk can see our church and what we do without employing a web team

  ### 13. User Friendly

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Celia J. | Communications & Graphic Design, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 09, 2021

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

Squarespace is approachable, clean, and easy to learn, use and customize.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

A few limitations on plugins/web features that open source options offer (realizing that squarespace's security/ease of use make that less of an issue). Also frustrating that sites don't allow some form of networking between the two (ex: sharing the same event on two sites)

**Recommendations to others considering Squarespace:**

Squarespace's approachability means it lacks customizations that open source sites would offer as plug ins/without coding.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mobile friendly solutions, clarifying organizational messaging, helping users and admins feel confident in content management

  ### 14. Squarespace will help you build a beautiful website easily, but check the templates first

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David S. L. | Development Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 20, 2020

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

Among the major plug-and-play website builders (Wix, Weebly, WordPress, etc) I firmly believe Squarespace is the most aesthetically pleasing and probably the second easiest to implement (Wix can't be beat there). Squarespace is built as an all-in-one platform that can handle blogs, e-commerce, domain hosting, all of that with minimal work from the user. Granted, that means that sometimes you are limited in customization, but if you want full control of customization you're probably using WordPress anyway. In a single platform, I was able to set up my website, set up my domain ownership, global settings, and more in just a few hours.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

My biggest pet peeve with Squarespace is that features and options are template-specific: some layouts, for example, are only available to a couple of their dozens of templates. The template I used, in fact, does not support one of the features I was most looking for, but there was no way for me to know that until I was at the point of implementation (unless some other user had pointed it out on the help center first). To me, something as simple as a "Search" button/bar at the top of the page should be a basic object, but for my template it was a weird workaround page that doesn't even work right or allow for advanced searches. Perhaps at more advanced levels, some features could be template-specific, but the fact that a search bar is only native to 6 or so out of all of their templates is mind boggling to me.

**Recommendations to others considering Squarespace:**

Consider cost/effort and how much you want to customize your pages and site map. If you want ease, Squarespace is great. If you want control, potentially WordPress or Wix is a better choice.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm using it as my blogging site. It is easy to use (for the most part - see above) and while slightly more expensive than its competitors it makes things easy to set up and manage especially if you don't have tons of time for back-end or are unfamiliar with it.

  ### 15. Generally easy to build a website

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Health, Wellness and Fitness | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 21, 2021

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

With help from a graphic designer friend, I was easily able to build a beautiful website for my private practice

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

The price is rather high, though I understand the perks that come with a paid account and domain.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I now have a gorgeous website.

  ### 16. AMAZING website builder for beginners to proffesionals

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Games | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 07, 2021

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

It has many features that i use to make my website look very slick. i can easily edit and change my website quickly

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

it can be hard to put the website up to find on google

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

i can guide potential clients to my website where they can buy my products

  ### 17. Squarespace Is The Best Content Management System - better than Wordpress, Wix, Weebly, etc.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Law S. | D, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 06, 2020

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

Squarespace Is The Best Content Management System - better than Wordpress, Wix, Weebly, etc. The design is like Apple created it. It's a CMS I can hand off to clients once the website project is over. Squarespace's scalability is as deep as you want it to be. By far, Squarespace is the best CMS for non-tech types that will blog for SEO purposes and businesses that need Lead Generation. Don't let Wordpress developers tell you that the SEO capabilities are not as robust as Wordpress. Squarespace can handle all the SEO and developer needs.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

Squarespace has e-commerce abilities, but not the greatest for a store that has a lot of products and/or variants.

**Recommendations to others considering Squarespace:**

Seek out forums and Facebook Groups for help

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The problems I'm solving is for clients not getting gouged by website developers, website designers that charge way too much for a Wordpress website where plugins can actually cancel a Wordpress website out.

  ### 18. Got me started with certain industries but was never a preferred means

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ethan M. | Event Organizer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 14, 2020

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

Popular platform with ease of use so high it makes it quite simple for people to manage a website in general and has assisted many in the build process of websites that have served me and my colleagues for years at a time. Simplistic building features with a solid framework allows for clean construction and sleek looks in a manner that allows those that do not know extensive amounts of code to design.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

Not as many features or plugin support as Wordpress and is not open source. Templates in some respect are generic and design elements may be bland in some respects if not customized appropriately

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have used this platform to sell and promote a festival that I assisted in curating. I do branding and artistic direction and squarespace made it quite easy to inject my own images in a manner that made a beautiful website while retaining thousands of dollars worth of sales yearly.

  ### 19. Good Idea. Poor Execution

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael L. | Consultant and Faciltator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 15, 2019

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

I like the concept of Square Space: A responsive web editor that allows drag and drop capability coupled with a WYSIWYG editor.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

Compared to Weebly, a similar concept, Square Space some how does not deliver on its concept. The drag and drop is not easy to manipulate. Embedding pictures leaves a lot to be desired.

**Recommendations to others considering Squarespace:**

If you need a website that can clear your credit card transaction, then look at Square Space. If you do not have that need look at Wix or Weebly.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I needed a static website for use as my profession. The only benefit I realized was the responsive design.

  ### 20. Easier website tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 12, 2018

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

Sites are all clean and so so easy to use.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

Not much to dislike. You can go in and customize EVERYTHING. Love it

**Recommendations to others considering Squarespace:**

DO IT

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have created sites for friends using squarespace. Its cheap and easy and fast and looks incredible!

  ### 21. Great start up web platform

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Design | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 11, 2020

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

Fantastic templates to make an easy intro into the world of running your online business or storefront. Really user friendly and intuitive, which is ideal for inexperienced designers. The end result is a beautiful front end for your customers.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

Order management and scheduling is lacking. On other eComm platforms, there is an internal system for scheduling in-coming orders to ensure there is a clear dispatch date, scheduled arrival date etc. all of which can be seen by the customer. This is key to our business, but our site doesn't allow for it. Instead, we are left having to manually schedule every order that comes in via our Squarespace site.

**Recommendations to others considering Squarespace:**

Really great for a new start up - very user friendly and customisable. Be cautious of having to manage your own scheduling, if you are a brand who takes a number of orders in and requires them to be spread evenly each day. We have yet to find a plugin which would enable this in the way we need.

Otherwise - love the platform.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Running a website for our business where the appearance and design of the front end matches the overall quality and appearance of the brand, our social media, and products. It was simple to create a website which reflected our overall brand ethos - which was really important to the company.

Also opening up to our customers which come in via social media channels. Bringing them straight to our website and making it easy for them to navigate and place an order.

  ### 22. Squarespace easy for website building novices

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Birdfoot F. | Gianna Chachere, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 12, 2020

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

Squarespace is very easy to start. There are many templates to choose from and you are able to begin building your site immediately. It is intuitive to use so one can easily navigate tools and utilize without too much instruction. As someone without significant design experience, I find the templates and structure clean and professional looking. Page templates are very easy to complete and navigate

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

I recommended Squarespace to 2 clients and then walked them through the process. They both had reached out to me for help and I was shocked at how difficult they found the platform to be. Also, I found template choices for the self-employed were limited. And once you lock into a template it is hard to switch. Also some of the formatting isn't easy to use

**Recommendations to others considering Squarespace:**

Make sure you find the right template for your site before inputing too much information. There are many beautiful templates to choose from but investigate what you need the website for and think critically about how your information will be presented

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I need to create a fuller picture of my business and linking all aspects on the website has solved the issue of how to present everything I do. I can make changes to my website immediately. I don't have to hire anyone or wait for someone on my team to make changes.

  ### 23. Overall Good Value for SMBs Who Need a Basic Website

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Benjamin R. | CEO and Principal, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 27, 2020

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

Lots of templates to choose from. Pick one and decide to change to another later.
I also like the ability to launch a web page, remove it, and change its location via a drag and drop interface.
Has some integration with Google Analytics and has the ability to insert a tag manager.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

It's template driven so I do keep that in mind. However, there are some instances when I'd like to apply a little more formatting and it's not always possible. Also, they have server/page load issues more often than I like or would expect. To their credit, they have a live page to see current status and a lookback.
Another issue for me is that they have really tailored this to eCommerce. If you're not an eCom site, there are a lot of features you won't use.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I need a web presence that is SEO friendly and that our company can update easily without coding. Our pages look pretty good without having to hire a designer - though I do think a designer is in our future to take the look and feel up a few notches. Our traffic is much higher than it was on our previous platform.

  ### 24. Great Way to Create a Modern Looking Website

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 27, 2021

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

The ease of creating a webiste. I love using the tools to design and make it my own.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

Dislike how different templates have different features. Sometimes I wish I could combine certain parts.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Reaching our customers and giving them an easy UI

  ### 25. Fancy, Unique & Modern Websites with Ease

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Britani W. | Freelance Graphic Designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 29, 2020

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

I love that as a designer, I can use Squarespace to fully customize a website to my clients' brand and use, no matter the client. THEN I can hand it off to them and they can have the confidence to continue to update and maintain their website with their slick user interface and controls! Many times clients are intimidated about using something new and techy but once I sit down with them and show them the basics of Squarespace they have a renewed confidence and are able to manage their own websites without the stress or confusion that usually comes along with such a task.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

They are a little behind on some options and functions that would be nice for bigger businesses with more needs. BUT they are constantly updating, learning and building. So they do eventually catch up.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am able to add website design to my design services. I am a graphic designer and many potential clients used to ask "do you do websites" and I would always have to answer "not yet". With Squarespace, I had the time to learn and become fluent in using their platform pretty quickly so that I can serve my clients better. And that is without lacking on the service either. Squarespace usually has everything my client is looking for in a website plus some "wow! I didn't realize I could do that"s.

  ### 26. The Best Platform for Your Website

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dainelis R. | Co-Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 31, 2020

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

I like that the site always has video tutorials to guide you in creating your best website. The videos help you arrange the layout of the website to suit your needs. I am able to use three different styles of od text on my website. Additionally, there are great quality design themes for your layout. You can manage and easily access all your domains and can easily switch from domains from one to another. The service is inexpensive for the domain and monthly service. You can see how your website is doing through its analytics. You can see which pages and content get more content.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

I haven't had any issues with square space. Their customer service is excellent.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am realizing the times of when to post my blogs and what content is more engaging with my audience.

  ### 27. Square space is easy to use for a novice

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alexus G. | User, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 14, 2021

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

I like the ease of making your own website without having to know how to code.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

I dislike the minimal edits you can make once you pick a preset website.
You end up stick sticking with which ever website you first chose.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I’m able to sell with ease my plants as well as starting

  ### 28. Love Squarespace

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kristina P. | Online Business Development, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 17, 2020

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

It's a great place to design your own website.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

There is nothing that I dislike about Squarespace

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Was an easy way to design our own website, saving money rather than having to higher someone else to create it for us. We were able to bring our own vision to life and have the freedom to easily update whenever we need to add or alter content.

  ### 29. Unless you know nothing about web design, avoid 7.1

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Religious Institutions | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 15, 2020

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

Squarespace has created elegant and usable templates--they really set the bar years ago. They look great.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

There is Squarespace 7.0 and Squarespace 7.1. 7.1 is not nearly as flexible and not as elegant, especially for arts and photography websites.

**Recommendations to others considering Squarespace:**

Sorry, I cannot recommend. It is better than WordPress for elegance, but next time I will go with Wix...unless they add more flexibility to Squarespace 7.1.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Having set up a website with 7.0, I was delighted with the result, and was able be more flexible with presentation and needs. I am not a professional in web design, but it looks great. The 7.1 developed site feels barely adequate, and if I hadn't gotten a free business account for one year, I'd pull the plug entirely. Clunky and difficult to use for an adequate result.

  ### 30. Easy to use and very customizable

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Photography | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 08, 2021

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

I like that you can start with a beautiful template (lots of choices based on your need) but still make it entirely unique.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

Sometimes when it was very customized it was difficult to format the pages.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I spend much less time designing my website and more time running my business.

  ### 31. The Simple but highly presentable web builder

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Celia Q. | Project Officer

**Reviewed Date:** April 06, 2021

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

Extremely easy and simple to use website

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

There is isn't anything I dislike about Squarespace

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It enables my clients to build a simple highly presentable website

  ### 32. Perfect for Blogging and Portfolio

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jeanette K. | Administration, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 23, 2021

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

I like how easy it is to use and the GSuite integration.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

I did not find it the best solution for starting an e-commerce business.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are able to publish our monthly blogs and update our portfolio very easily with Squarespace.

  ### 33. Intuitive, beautiful, and streamlined

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ashley L. | Creative Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 10, 2020

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

Squarespace is intuitive, so you could pick it up and learn it without someone teaching you. There's also help available 24/7 if you run into any issues. I use Squarespace when building websites for clients, and the handoff after a project is completed is a breeze. Plus, it's pretty inexpensive! I also love that I can make the templates feel more custom with some simple CSS.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

The new Squarespace 7.1 makes some things simpler, and some things more difficult. It's easier to add color themes, but customizing requires more work + code. I also wish there was a way to have more options for fonts/headlines without having to use custom code. It should be easier to upload your own font! 7.1 also got rid of parallax scrolling, which is frustrating. Fortunately, 7.0 templates are still available, so depending on the project, I will sometimes return to those.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Squarespace makes it easy to build a professional looking website quickly. Making updates takes no time, and it's easy to train my clients how to use it upon handoff. Plus, as a member of Squarespace Circle, I have access to so many more resources that are valuable to my team.

  ### 34. A great alternative to WordPress

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Paige R. | Freelance Writer/Copywriter, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 21, 2020

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

Squarespace is so user friendly and has beautiful template designs without the extra costs. I love the fact that I don't have to purchase tons of plugins to get my blog optimized and to operate smoothly as I did for WordPress.

My site gets more consistent traffic because the site is naturally mobile responsive and SEO friendly. Squarespace makes it easy for the owner of the site and readers to navigate through the site.

Not only does the template designs look good from the reader's point of view, but it also looks good on the backend of the site. Squarespace allows you to see realtime edits without having to do the code and then either put your URL in a separate browser or click a preview button. This makes it easier to make sure your formatting is correct and you like the way it looks without all the extra steps.

I also like that it doesn't crash! Or at least it hasn't crashed on me since I started using it last year. Overall, I think that Squarespace is a great self-hosting platform for those who hate trying to code, spend tons of extra money on plugins and template designs, and want a user-friendly drag and drop experience.

Plus I like the email campaigns. It has made building templates and sending out emails much easier than using a 3rd party. I can easily bring my most recent blogs into my email and have people subscribe to my blog with ease. Squarespace offers a pop-up option for newsletter sign-ups that you would've had to pay extra for on WordPress.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

I wish Squarespace had an easy way to transition from Squarespace 7.0 to version 7.1. Right now, you have to set up a completely new site to experience the new design features and transfer the domain. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy with version 7.0, but I would also like to have my site be updated to the most recent software. I love the idea of having more flexibility with my template design for my blog. I know Squarespace is working on it so until they figure it out I'll be keeping the 7.0 version.

**Recommendations to others considering Squarespace:**

If you're frustrated with WordPress self-hosting platforms and want a self-hosting platform that is simple to use and has everything you need to run a successful blog or e-commerce store, then I highly recommend looking into Squarespace. The good thing is that you get a 14-day trial before you commit to having it as your permanent self-hosting platform. It's definitely worth it!

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

One, I'm solving the SEO. As soon as I make tweaks here and there, it seems like my blog gets favor by Google faster than it did with WordPress. My blog looks better than ever and it gives me one less thing to worry about between trying to write high-quality content and promote it. The last thing I want to be doing or worrying about is spending hours trying to perfect my blog's aesthetic. Now, I can focus on what really matters and reach people all over the world on a regular basis!

Although I pay the monthly fee, it is less expensive than WordPress self-hosting platforms in the end because Squarespace has all of the features you would need built-in to its software. It's better for my wallet and keeps things simple because everything is in one place and the features I used the most on my self-hosting platform for WordPress, I can get with Squarespace too, again, without the extra costs.

  ### 35. Perfect Portfolio Review platform

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kiara P. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 29, 2020

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

Squarespace has various of slots to fill, places to move, and objects to change. It provides multiple domains for different businesses or topics. There are also multiple formats that provides for you for ideas and select a monotone color combination for the whole domain for consistency. I love how you can market any products or organize your business in marketing or commerce by selling or analyzing how many people visit your page.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

I don't think the limited monotone color combinations given where it's harder to expressive multiple colors. Some limitation I also wish were lowered are the animations, buttons, and fonts. The price is also too pricing for one month and wish it was less.

**Recommendations to others considering Squarespace:**

I highly consider anyone who wants to advertise their business or their personal work/expertise. It's easy, effective, and beneficial. If you are not interested in the monthly bill yet, I still suggest you at least try the free trial first before making any decision because I changed my mind fast after the trial ended. You can have a personal or business domains with the multiple uses of domains.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am using Squarespace to organize all my past designs and prepare for work-in-process projects in the future. I want to use Squarespace to the fullest to express who I am, what I do, and my skills. Because I'm having full use of Squarespace, I'm considering using its marketing and commerce aspects to sell my work or offer my service for social media planning. I realized Squarespace is not own for a business or marketing, but it can be a great way to represent yourself to clients or future employers.

  ### 36. Squarespace Review

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Terri T. | Owner/Graphic Designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 19, 2020

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

I love Squarespace, moving over from wordpress i have found so many benefits to squarespace and so havce my clients. I use sqaurespace as a designer i am also a personal user. Squarespace makes it so easy to build a website, it is extremely flexible and so user friendly.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

The only downside is that i feel the blog section could do with some tweaks and improvements. Although as it stands at the moment i feel that it isnt a complete let down and does offer everything that i really need it to.

**Recommendations to others considering Squarespace:**

I feel that over the years i have tried and tested alot of website platforms and i strongly feel that Squarespace is one of the worlds leading platforms. Not only do i love Squarespace, my clients also love Squarespace and i feel the fact they love it also, means a great deal. Anpother bonus to Squarespace is their incredible customer service, they have one of the best services i have ever delt with.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Squarespace allows me to offer various template themes which squarespace offer and also allows me to code themes when my client wants something more unique. I now create and design my clinets websites all on this platform and do all major changes and they are happy that they can log in and make the basic changes like opening times, body copy and new images.

  ### 37. Excellent templates for photography

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

Unable to share client galleries with basic version

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Able to create easy websites with tons of templates for video or still images

  ### 38. Awesome and easy to use web-design software

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Greg D. | Director, Operational Risk & Compliance, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 19, 2020

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

So easy to use, drag and drop, very straightforward

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

Squarespace is on the expensive side vs. some of their competition.

**Recommendations to others considering Squarespace:**

Consider alternatives, but Squarespace is the leader in this space.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easy way to quickly get a website for a business

  ### 39. This software is great if you are starting with your own business!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Cosmetics | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 06, 2020

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

This software is really easy to use, especially if you are not familiar with how to build a website and have no programming knowledge.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

There are some basic functionalities that require a bit of coding (for example a carousel for the home page) I really don't understand why such a basic feature is not available.

**Recommendations to others considering Squarespace:**

If you don't have designing capabilities I recommend hiring a designer so your website looks more professional and with a great look and feel. Creating banners and organizing the pages is not that easy if you have no designing knowledge.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Squarespace allowed my company to build our own website and marketplace with little to almost no knowledge of websites.

  ### 40. Easy and Intuitive

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Blaize H. | C, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 21, 2020

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

It’s simple user interface and clean designs.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

Not always as customizable as I hope. Certain templates allow you to do more than others.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Making my website look clean and organized has given my brand an entirely new image.

  ### 41. Fantastic product!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Writing and Editing | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 27, 2020

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

Very user-friendly and easy to customize! No need to mess with difficult code on every customization.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

I wish it were easier to resize photos in blog posts.

**Recommendations to others considering Squarespace:**

I absolutely adore Squarespace and use it frequently. I recommend to anyone who needs a website for blogging or e-commerce.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Professional blogging platform for paid posts. This helps me make more money as a professional writer.

  ### 42. Squarespace - it couldn't be any easier

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matthew F. | Creative Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 18, 2019

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

It's incredibly intuitive - it's the easiest website creation software you could imagine. You can basically just drag and drop elements anywhere and they'll be updated live on your website. It's the easiest platform i've tried for website design.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

Squarespace is very expensive for what it does - most people pay a website designer a bulk sum, and their website is done and created and doesn't need to be managed again. You have to pay squarespace every month for your website to stay up. In addition, there seems to be no way to change the mobile site layout in case something works for desktop but not mobile

**Recommendations to others considering Squarespace:**

Spend some time making sure your site doesn't look the same as the rest

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Squarespace means we don't always have to have a web designer on retainer - we can upload and change the site as and when we need to.

  ### 43. Powerful Platform that Delivers on Its Promises

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bryan H. | Marketing Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 19, 2019

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

I'm a huge fan of Squarespace. I use it as both a designer and and a personal user. Not only is it easy to build a website, it's extremely flexible. Many WordPress purists will disagree, but the level of customization is quite striking when you become well-versed in Custom CSS and engage with the Squarespace community. It's a platform I ca rely on and I love that it's constantly improving.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

Blogging still has a long way to go, but I feel confident this will improve over time. Would also love to restore previous page edits.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm helping clients get powerful websites that are reaching the people they need. Despite what you hear about Squarespace's SEO functions, nearly all of my clients are ranking on the first page of Google. When you leverage the tools they have available, Squarespace delivers powerful websites that really make life easier.

  ### 44. Ease of use and value for price cannot be beaten.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Music | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 08, 2019

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

I love that while Squarespace is user friendly, you can still control most aspects of your site, meaning that even though you're following a template, it will not look like everyone else's website with that template. I also like that you can add code if you need to.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

Sometimes there are random aspects that are only available in certain templates, that you won't find out about until you've already designed most of the site. It would be nice if most of those could be universal.

**Recommendations to others considering Squarespace:**

Squarespace is still the best platform I have found to design websites that help with my business's success. Make sure you take your time getting to know all of the details of how it works and utilize their incredible customer service.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have never had a severe problem with Squarespace, and the reason is the benefit: their customer service online is unparalleled. They have always been kind and solved or explained any issue I have had.

  ### 45. Using square space for our new website

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lincy G. | Administrative Assistant - Immigration, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 17, 2020

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

The features and the layouts, the GUI and everything about it is absolutely amazing and easy to use.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

I don't see any downfall or really dislike about using this site

**Recommendations to others considering Squarespace:**

Give it a try, better than phone and Joomla which were way too complicated to use

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This is far better way of creating our revised website, as the old methods of creating each and every feature using a code or the amount of work that would go into a small feature to be embedded was really messy

  ### 46. Great tool for beautiful website design and hosting!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shannon H. | Photographer , Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 24, 2019

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

I love the Squarespace offers easy to use templates for website design and hosting. Their designs are beautiful and functional- they make it easy to customize your page by uploading/ swapping imagery, changing formats, fonts and getting your site up and running with almost no down time.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

Certain aspects of each Squarespace template are not customizable. While there is so much flexibility within each template, I find that certain fundamental parts of the site are fixed, and you cannot customize everything. I also find that there are certain quirks in the process like- making simple edits to an image like cropping can take forever to load! While I love the overall usability of Squarespace, there are some hiccups that should be addressed!

**Recommendations to others considering Squarespace:**

If you are looking for a simple to use, beautiful website design software and host this is it. Customizability is about 80%, if you are not a tech whiz and love beautiful customizable templates then this it your go-to. Don't expect that you will be able to customize everything, but their design are functional and provide you a great foundation for your website.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Simple, beautiful website design with social icons and SEO built in! Great options for portfolios and look-books.

  ### 47. All-in-one website builder

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael M. | Wedding Photographer, Photography, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 17, 2019

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

I have been using Squarespace for my photography business's website for over 7 years and have always been impressed with the platform. I wanted to build a website from scratch, but I don't know how to code, so needed a platform which would allow me to craft something beautiful without much effort. I love how easy Squarespace was to set up and update, the amount of layouts on offer, and their phenomenal customer service.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

I believe that Squarespace's SEO capabilities are somewhat limited and could improve upon. Other than that, I have not found anything that I dislike. Certain style customisations require custom code.

**Recommendations to others considering Squarespace:**

The market has progressed quite a lot since I signed up over seven years ago. Look at what else is out there, and find a platform that suits your needs.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Squarespace helps me have a web presence which in turn helps me secure more bookings for my business.

  ### 48. Fairly easy to use, but can be finicky

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Melissa H. | Resource Staff Member, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 15, 2019

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

Squarespace is mostly easy to use and make adjustments. I enjoy being able to change banner photos easily or use video or photo slideshows for banners.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

A lot of the features on Squarespace are not entirely intuitive. For example, in order to increase the size of your banner, you have to open up banner settings and enter extra lines into the page description. It works, but I'm still not sure why or how those two things are linked. Also, moving boxes sometimes causes other boxes to expand to a ridiculous size. It makes it really hard to move a webpage around.

**Recommendations to others considering Squarespace:**

This program is fairly simple, but allows any level of user to make adjustments and build their own website. It also provides a lot of templates and helpful suggestions for building new pages. Some features are complicated or difficult to use and not entirely intuitive. Overall, it's a positive experience, but requires discipline in learning the system and building an effective page.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I described some of the problems above, but mostly with photos or other media, it is really challenging to reorder a webpage. Also, many of the options aren't customizable or are site-wide customizations. For example, to change the color and shape of a button on a web page, I would have to change the color and shape of that button for every webpage we operate.

  ### 49. I've built 3 pages with Squarespace - love it

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Whitney T. | Freelance Brand Strategist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 14, 2019

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

The templates are very easy to adapt to fit your needs and the components are super-easy to edit. The pricing also feels like a good deal for all that you get — a beautiful website, plus with the commerce plan you can sell products and the support is fantastic. The Squarespace Commerce app is a GAME-CHANGER! It makes getting packages out the door + sending an alert to the customer really easy.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

Nothing major, honestly. When building a page there isn't a way to see how it will appear on mobile, so it takes a little back and forth to get that right when they could have a mobile preview feature or something.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The main problem solved is a very professional website that I can build myself. The integrations with G Suite and Acuity also make the other aspects of your business — getting a professional email address, making appointments — a lot easier.

  ### 50. Stylish and easy to use

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kate G. | Director and Coach, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 10, 2019

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

Squarespace is an amazing option for users to build their own website. I am not particularly tech-savvy and managed to design a really beautiful website for my small business. They have an easy to use platform with wonderful designs and graphics/photos. You also get a free two week trial, so can start building your site over that time.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

I didn't dislike anything about Squarespace.

**Recommendations to others considering Squarespace:**

Squarespace is a perfect option for a stylish, professional looking website at a very reasonable cost. There are many different options depending on what you are looking for and how fancy you want the features on your website to be. All options are inexpensive in comparison to a professionally designed website.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It has allowed me to have a simple yet informative website that I can refer people to when they would like to know more about my business. It also syncs easily with google domain and Calendly, which is super helpful for booking appointments.
