## Squarespace Reviews
  ### 1. Website Building: Expensive but Scalable

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 14, 2021

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

This product is a service that never gets harder to build as your brand or website gains popularity or users. It handles itself with minimal problems in terms of website hosting and clealry prides itself on easy-to-use building abilities. Most abilities (photo album galleries, article formatting, etc.) are staple and handled sufficiently within Squarespace.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

Some features are moderately cumbersome/challenging to do concerning time efficiency. For example, uploading photos at one point in the website's history seemed to compose individual photo uploads and unique photo processing and individual photo placement within a gallery. To upload a folder of photos and display them in some arbitrary order felt like a timesuck.

Another complaint is the price point. As the website manager for the NPO levying Squarespace, the cost wasn't justifiable considering the minimal traffic we gathered year-round. It would've been more pertinent to just host it for free on GitHub.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For websites anticipating a massive acceleration in traffic and desiring minimal web hosting challenges, Squarespace is likely to be the desired website building solution. It prioritizes content visualization and minimal management.

  ### 2. Squarespace is a little difficult to navigate.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Entertainment | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 05, 2019

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

I like that you can use it to manage email accounts for a business. Really helps a small business. It keeps everything together in one place and allows access for mutiple users.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

I dislike that it seems a little unorganized and not the most user friendly. Some things are really hard to find or navigate through like the menus and options.

**Recommendations to others considering Squarespace:**

Definitely look at it before you decide to use it and make sure everything makes sense to you. Everyone is different, and this just did not make sense to me.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As much as I've used it, it seems to serve the purpose well, just could be a little easier to use. I have switched companies and no longer use this software, but I thought it was important to share my opinion.

  ### 3. Great for Intermediate Web Design

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 17, 2021

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

It has a ton of template options, lots of support/FAQ help, and a million fonts for branding! We use it for our company website and I'm the sole admin/editor. It's easy to use once you understand the tools.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

A few things are annoying: I haven't been able to save my color schemes, so I have to put the colors in individually every time. Also, The Spacer tool can be super finicky and challenging when it doesn't go into the space I want it to. And some of the templates aren't as customizable as others, which you don't know until you get into it.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's great for our website as we are a small business. It has many customizable features, templates for guidance, and it gives us a platform for events, donations, and updates. It's stylish, modern, and loads quickly/saves quickly.

  ### 4. Even beginners can use Squarepace to create professional-looking websites

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kendal L. | Planner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 26, 2021

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

Squarespace is very intuitive. It makes it easy for beginners to create websites. It's a very user-friendly website builder that is all-inclusive. There's no fuss with coding; it's simple drag and drop, click to expand menus, ect. You don't have to worry about knowing HTML. For more advanced things, SquareSpace walks you through those processes so you don't need to hire any outside developers to help you. Blogs, e-comerce stores, personal portfolios, organization and business websites, just about anything that could use a URL, can be made with this system.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

When you start setting up, you have a list of popular designs and themes to use as templates. While you can customize to a degree the look of your website, because they want to make it easy fr most folks, the available templates can be quite limited, especially if you're looking for something super customized and unique. (Although if you are, perhaps you are a bit more advanced, so you might not even need Squarespace!

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Their tablet/ mobile feature is incredible. You can see what the site will look like on other devices. Roughly 60% of online browsing is done on mobile these days. I create customer-facing websites, and our target audience is very mobile-forward. Their secondary devices are like an extension of themselves. Knowing exactly what we can expect the site's interface to look like from the get-go is super helpful. I've seen many websites that look great on desktop but don't translate well when you look at it on your phone.

  ### 5. Very good for Personal use

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dhawal J. | Architectural assistant , Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 11, 2022

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

The flexibility to allow various commands to custom make your web interface

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

The UI is not very intuitive. It takes a while to get used to the platform

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I made a personal website to show it to recruiters. It really works well for smaller uses as compared to making a company website or such

  ### 6. Solid Web Host and Such

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shayna C. | Content Writer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 14, 2021

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

I like how simple everything is, but you can still add your own flavor here and there were need be.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

The theme, though they're great, they feel too static to me. It feels like a copy/paste template from other places. Though you can create and change to match your personal businesses-it still feels like it isn't your own. Plus the desktop-to-mobile transition isn't the best; I had to cut major pieces of my site to better accomedate the mobile version.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Website creation, SEO tracking, shop setup

  ### 7. Good site for making a web site.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Entertainment | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 03, 2021

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

Easy to make a site, good customer service.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

Don't like the blocks, feel it limits creativity.

**Recommendations to others considering Squarespace:**

If you are a student you can get a discounted rate for the first year.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Trying to get a podcast feed in the lower-tier optons. Hosting is a good deal if making a site.

  ### 8. Overall great experience with squarespace

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 30, 2021

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

This platform is very easy to use, especially for beginners looking to create their website.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

Going back and forth to preview your edits on the site can be annoying.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The number of templates they offer makes it easy to come up with new ideas to display your creative work.

  ### 9. Easy to use with customization ability

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 17, 2021

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

It's really easy to learn and pretty easy to use, especially when it comes to customizations. It's also pretty bare bones and simple if you need it to be.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

It can be really glitchy while editing content, whether that's the written content or the actual layout. Some of the layout changes are also not the easiest and it can take some time to move one simple thing.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's definitely a much better solution than our previous website. A big thing is we have the capability to change things on the back end, like navigation, etc, which we didn't before. It's really easy to change at the drop of a hat if we need to.

  ### 10. Squarespace is anything but square

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kristi P. | Chief Do-Gooder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 13, 2020

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

It takes a little getting used to, but once you've got the basics, it's very user-friendly and you can do so much with it. Even my interns find that they can get up to speed pretty quickly. And there are so many options with formatting and branding. I think it gives you enough choice and control to feel like you can do many things, but not so many that you mess up your branding and cohesive formatting. I've used Squarespace for almost four years, and have recommended it many times.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

I think the e-commerce side lacks some finesse and pizazz that the more experienced e-commerce websites and plug-ins have nailed. From what I've used so far, Squarespace is a little bulky and it seems harder to find settings that I need. I just don't think there are as many capabilities as the others yet either, but I think they are always improving it since users need that option. I also wish there were better SEO options/fields like there are with Wordpress. SEO is incredibly important, and I always feel that I'm missing something without the additional fields or a plugin like Yoast to guide me.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I've hosted my website on Squarespace for almost four years, and I get lots of unsolicited compliments the layout, look, and more. I also added some digital products almost two years ago, and that's been a good fit so far since my needs right now are simple.

  ### 11. Simple to use

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Religious Institutions | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 11, 2021

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

Clean interface and straightforward to edit once you spent an hour learning it's methods

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

Price- it's pretty expensive for what it offers

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Having a professional website so folk can see our church and what we do without employing a web team

  ### 12. Squarespace will help you build a beautiful website easily, but check the templates first

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David S. L. | Development Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 20, 2020

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

Among the major plug-and-play website builders (Wix, Weebly, WordPress, etc) I firmly believe Squarespace is the most aesthetically pleasing and probably the second easiest to implement (Wix can't be beat there). Squarespace is built as an all-in-one platform that can handle blogs, e-commerce, domain hosting, all of that with minimal work from the user. Granted, that means that sometimes you are limited in customization, but if you want full control of customization you're probably using WordPress anyway. In a single platform, I was able to set up my website, set up my domain ownership, global settings, and more in just a few hours.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

My biggest pet peeve with Squarespace is that features and options are template-specific: some layouts, for example, are only available to a couple of their dozens of templates. The template I used, in fact, does not support one of the features I was most looking for, but there was no way for me to know that until I was at the point of implementation (unless some other user had pointed it out on the help center first). To me, something as simple as a "Search" button/bar at the top of the page should be a basic object, but for my template it was a weird workaround page that doesn't even work right or allow for advanced searches. Perhaps at more advanced levels, some features could be template-specific, but the fact that a search bar is only native to 6 or so out of all of their templates is mind boggling to me.

**Recommendations to others considering Squarespace:**

Consider cost/effort and how much you want to customize your pages and site map. If you want ease, Squarespace is great. If you want control, potentially WordPress or Wix is a better choice.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm using it as my blogging site. It is easy to use (for the most part - see above) and while slightly more expensive than its competitors it makes things easy to set up and manage especially if you don't have tons of time for back-end or are unfamiliar with it.

  ### 13. Generally easy to build a website

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Health, Wellness and Fitness | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 21, 2021

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

With help from a graphic designer friend, I was easily able to build a beautiful website for my private practice

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

The price is rather high, though I understand the perks that come with a paid account and domain.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I now have a gorgeous website.

  ### 14. Great start up web platform

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Design | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 11, 2020

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

Fantastic templates to make an easy intro into the world of running your online business or storefront. Really user friendly and intuitive, which is ideal for inexperienced designers. The end result is a beautiful front end for your customers.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

Order management and scheduling is lacking. On other eComm platforms, there is an internal system for scheduling in-coming orders to ensure there is a clear dispatch date, scheduled arrival date etc. all of which can be seen by the customer. This is key to our business, but our site doesn't allow for it. Instead, we are left having to manually schedule every order that comes in via our Squarespace site.

**Recommendations to others considering Squarespace:**

Really great for a new start up - very user friendly and customisable. Be cautious of having to manage your own scheduling, if you are a brand who takes a number of orders in and requires them to be spread evenly each day. We have yet to find a plugin which would enable this in the way we need.

Otherwise - love the platform.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Running a website for our business where the appearance and design of the front end matches the overall quality and appearance of the brand, our social media, and products. It was simple to create a website which reflected our overall brand ethos - which was really important to the company.

Also opening up to our customers which come in via social media channels. Bringing them straight to our website and making it easy for them to navigate and place an order.

  ### 15. Squarespace easy for website building novices

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Birdfoot F. | Gianna Chachere, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 12, 2020

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

Squarespace is very easy to start. There are many templates to choose from and you are able to begin building your site immediately. It is intuitive to use so one can easily navigate tools and utilize without too much instruction. As someone without significant design experience, I find the templates and structure clean and professional looking. Page templates are very easy to complete and navigate

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

I recommended Squarespace to 2 clients and then walked them through the process. They both had reached out to me for help and I was shocked at how difficult they found the platform to be. Also, I found template choices for the self-employed were limited. And once you lock into a template it is hard to switch. Also some of the formatting isn't easy to use

**Recommendations to others considering Squarespace:**

Make sure you find the right template for your site before inputing too much information. There are many beautiful templates to choose from but investigate what you need the website for and think critically about how your information will be presented

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I need to create a fuller picture of my business and linking all aspects on the website has solved the issue of how to present everything I do. I can make changes to my website immediately. I don't have to hire anyone or wait for someone on my team to make changes.

  ### 16. Overall Good Value for SMBs Who Need a Basic Website

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Benjamin R. | CEO and Principal, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 27, 2020

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

Lots of templates to choose from. Pick one and decide to change to another later.
I also like the ability to launch a web page, remove it, and change its location via a drag and drop interface.
Has some integration with Google Analytics and has the ability to insert a tag manager.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

It's template driven so I do keep that in mind. However, there are some instances when I'd like to apply a little more formatting and it's not always possible. Also, they have server/page load issues more often than I like or would expect. To their credit, they have a live page to see current status and a lookback.
Another issue for me is that they have really tailored this to eCommerce. If you're not an eCom site, there are a lot of features you won't use.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I need a web presence that is SEO friendly and that our company can update easily without coding. Our pages look pretty good without having to hire a designer - though I do think a designer is in our future to take the look and feel up a few notches. Our traffic is much higher than it was on our previous platform.

  ### 17. Square space is easy to use for a novice

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alexus G. | User, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 14, 2021

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

I like the ease of making your own website without having to know how to code.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

I dislike the minimal edits you can make once you pick a preset website.
You end up stick sticking with which ever website you first chose.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I’m able to sell with ease my plants as well as starting

  ### 18. The Simple but highly presentable web builder

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Celia Q. | Project Officer

**Reviewed Date:** April 06, 2021

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

Extremely easy and simple to use website

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

There is isn't anything I dislike about Squarespace

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It enables my clients to build a simple highly presentable website

  ### 19. This software is great if you are starting with your own business!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Cosmetics | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 06, 2020

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

This software is really easy to use, especially if you are not familiar with how to build a website and have no programming knowledge.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

There are some basic functionalities that require a bit of coding (for example a carousel for the home page) I really don't understand why such a basic feature is not available.

**Recommendations to others considering Squarespace:**

If you don't have designing capabilities I recommend hiring a designer so your website looks more professional and with a great look and feel. Creating banners and organizing the pages is not that easy if you have no designing knowledge.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Squarespace allowed my company to build our own website and marketplace with little to almost no knowledge of websites.

  ### 20. Squarespace - it couldn't be any easier

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matthew F. | Creative Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 18, 2019

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

It's incredibly intuitive - it's the easiest website creation software you could imagine. You can basically just drag and drop elements anywhere and they'll be updated live on your website. It's the easiest platform i've tried for website design.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

Squarespace is very expensive for what it does - most people pay a website designer a bulk sum, and their website is done and created and doesn't need to be managed again. You have to pay squarespace every month for your website to stay up. In addition, there seems to be no way to change the mobile site layout in case something works for desktop but not mobile

**Recommendations to others considering Squarespace:**

Spend some time making sure your site doesn't look the same as the rest

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Squarespace means we don't always have to have a web designer on retainer - we can upload and change the site as and when we need to.

  ### 21. Fairly easy to use, but can be finicky

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Melissa H. | Resource Staff Member, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 15, 2019

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

Squarespace is mostly easy to use and make adjustments. I enjoy being able to change banner photos easily or use video or photo slideshows for banners.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

A lot of the features on Squarespace are not entirely intuitive. For example, in order to increase the size of your banner, you have to open up banner settings and enter extra lines into the page description. It works, but I'm still not sure why or how those two things are linked. Also, moving boxes sometimes causes other boxes to expand to a ridiculous size. It makes it really hard to move a webpage around.

**Recommendations to others considering Squarespace:**

This program is fairly simple, but allows any level of user to make adjustments and build their own website. It also provides a lot of templates and helpful suggestions for building new pages. Some features are complicated or difficult to use and not entirely intuitive. Overall, it's a positive experience, but requires discipline in learning the system and building an effective page.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I described some of the problems above, but mostly with photos or other media, it is really challenging to reorder a webpage. Also, many of the options aren't customizable or are site-wide customizations. For example, to change the color and shape of a button on a web page, I would have to change the color and shape of that button for every webpage we operate.

  ### 22. Squarespace is ideal for your company

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jose P. | Bachelor of Science, Entertainment Business, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 09, 2019

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

This platform is very easy to use, I also find it excellent that you have the option of Artistic and modern design or a great alternative for a btob company, it has great templates which I think is very good, you can Send publications to social networks

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

I would like if I could have the newsletter by email with web suggestions and software updates, I consider that there is no variety for design options when we seek to redesign the website, I would like it to have Reminders to publish new content.

**Recommendations to others considering Squarespace:**

I recommend this platform because it contains very important features for those looking to build websites quickly, as well as the creation of a portfolio is very effective, it is appropriate for those who have no experience in web design or coding.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use it in the company as a main website, It is easy to manage, The software is excellent because we know the basic coding, Squarespace has allowed me to create a custom website based on my preferences with excellent, They also offer website templates

  ### 23. Excellent acceptance for brands recognition.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Agdel H. | Senior Strategist, Internet, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 02, 2019

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

I like that the interface is very splendid, I can use the drag and drop function very easily. In addition, the images do not reduce the quality at the time they are presented. I must also mention that their templates are very beautiful and have helped me to do great work. Another important element is that I can make excellent integrations with other platforms, among them I can mention Mailchimp as a strategic ally on some occasions. It contains a free trial which serves to have a previous analysis of what the program could offer.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

Although I mentioned that the templates are very beautiful, there is something that I do not like and that is that they are somewhat generic, that is, for quick jobs where customization must be key, I consider that the templates lack a bit of that. However, I have been able to adjust and perform excellent work through my creativity. I consider that the plans are expensive, it contains a free trial but at the time of selecting a plan for later use I realized that the price is high.

**Recommendations to others considering Squarespace:**

Do not hesitate to buy it, at the beginning you will think that the investment is a lot but without a doubt you will have on hand an excellence in terms of quality and adjudication of strong processes in favor of the goals. The interface is beautiful and very functional, plus you will have excellent integrations. In conclusion, it invests without worry that the money deposited there will not be in vain.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It has been a program that we use to give more promotion of our brand than that of our clients, we certainly use it for internal and elective purposes of our own popularity. We have also adapted some projects, but its main purpose is to have a unique presence of our company on the web. So far it has worked great and employees are very well coupled to their tools. It should be noted that it has also been used as a hosting service on some occasions where the situation warranted it.

  ### 24. The easiest website building software I can find!

I can't think of anything I dislike about Squarespace!

**Recommendations to others considering Squarespace:**

Watch the tutorial video on Youtube for Squarespace along with the Help Videos on the Squarespace website!

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our business is creating engaging websites for our clients and since it's a breeze to use, we can easily create these sites within a couple of hours!

  ### 25. Easy to make websites

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sarah R. | Human Resources Specialist, Information Technology and Services, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

Squarespace is one of the best options to create blogs and position them quickly since it has a broad integration with other SEO platforms and with many social networks. An excellent feature of this platform is the tracking of traffic sources, which provides a lot of value and great information about the traffic entering the site.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

Many of the default templates that the platform has, I consider them very old and aesthetically are not well designed.

**Recommendations to others considering Squarespace:**

Squarespace is a very good option for those who want to create blogs or even stores, since you get a very good amount of traffic with the creation of any type of website.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With Squarespace we have been able to create blogs and rank them among the top positions thanks to the SEO optimization that can be developed by simply installing add-ons on this platform.

  ### 26. SquareSpace for those w/o web design background

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 13, 2019

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

It is user friendly and easy to edit, once you get the hang of it. It's convenient and allows me to update our website within seconds.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

Sometimes feels limited in how much I can customize features on a page. It could be the "theme" we have, but sometimes feels constraining in how much I can edit and adjust features on a page.

**Recommendations to others considering Squarespace:**

I'd say it's a fantastic platform if you are like me and have never done web design or web-related tech things, but now need those minor skills for your job. If you can host your own site, then more power to you. But Squarespace is wonderful and streamlined for hosting your own website and making it look good to. We receive a lot of compliments on our website.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It has allowed us to maintain our website and update it frequently with latest news and content, and eliminates the need to contact a third party hosting platform every time we need something done.

Squarespace has the necessary tools to create and manage a website with a clean and friendly design for visitors. In general platform is very friendly and easy to configure as you wish.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

The loading speed is not as fast as other similar platforms, although it is enough for what I have used it.

**Recommendations to others considering Squarespace:**

Squarespace is one of the cheapest options to be able to have an online website easily.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With Squarespace we have been able to create different websites quickly and easily in order to promote our products online.

  ### 31. decent bmtool decent price

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Publishing | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 04, 2019

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

I like that squarespace can support podcast style RSS feeda

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

When I set up my podcast site there were quite a few extra steps to get an episode published than if I have gone through something specifically designed for podcasters

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I needed a website

  ### 32. Easy Website Builder for anyone

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Caitlin S. | Pharmacy Technician, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 30, 2019

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

I switched from using WordPress to Squarespace because of the ease of use for the platform. I got my website up and running in 30 minutes and found the support to be easy.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

Sometimes the functionality of designing is a little tricky. This has been the only problem I have had with squarespace.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I now have a website I am not ashamed to advertise my business with. The SEO that is compatible with the platform helps my business as well.

  ### 33. Squarespace is great, easy and clean but has many limitations

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Daniel S. | Founder/CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 25, 2018

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

I love how easy it is to get started with Squarespace and how simple it is to create a website. The templates look great and the back end user functionality is great. The analytics they offer are easy to understand and give great insight. I was able to seamlessly incorporate Sumo into my Squarespace site allowing me to make use of their services easily. The integration with Stripe and PayPal for credit card payment processing make it a breeze to set up an e-commerce site.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

When it comes to the Commerce packages there are some limitations that may lead you to look at other providers. IN particular the one beef I have with Squarespace Commerce is that you cannot choose different shipping rates for different products. You can choose different carrier and service rates (like Ground, Priority, Express, etc.). But you can only have ONE ground rate or ONE express rate. So if you sell two completely different products that are different sizes and weights, you cannot create different shipping prices for each of them. It's incredibly frustrating and that alone is leading me towards probably switching over to a different service in the near future.

**Recommendations to others considering Squarespace:**

If you don't need to be running an e-commerce site then Squarespace is an excellent choice. The templates and ease of getting set up is fantastic. If you are doing e-commerce and are only selling a digital product or a single physical product the Squarespace will also be a great option. If you're selling more than one product of different sizes and weights, you may want to look into other options due to the limitations on setting shipping prices.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Squarespace allowed me to set up an e-commerce site relatively quick and easily. Integrations with many other platforms make automation for order taking and shipping painless and easy. I've found Squarespace is increasingly being included as an integration partner with more and more third party services so it does make using it easier and more efficient.

  ### 34. Best software for Web Design Beginners

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nicole C. | Senior Graphic Designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 03, 2019

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

SquareSpace is a software where you can easily design your website without having a lot of experience. Among all website builders I like to use this specific platform because the client or trainee usually understand more about the process and that makes you save a lot of time. They are also e-commerce so you can sell online without any transaction fees. Prices are not bad and you can get a domain and host your site, everything in the same place. All templates offered are mobile friendly (responsive web design).

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

SquaresSpace doesn't offer a lot of features such as motion graphics, hover effects, scrolling effects and some tools other website builders offer. Also, it doesn't offer backup or restoring features which is something you have to be extremely careful if there is ever an issue and your website goes down. I would suggest to keep a copy of the content saved somewhere in your computer or hard drive.

**Recommendations to others considering Squarespace:**

Research the correct platform for your kind of website. SquareSpace is a great software but it may be not exactly what you looking for.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SquareSpace is a great tool for web designers that don't have much experience and want to learn. Also, it's a great software for small business owners that want to create their own website.

  ### 35. Web builder that balances between custom and ease quite well

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kirk M. | Account Executive, Computer Software, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 09, 2019

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

Lots of templates that look really nice. Signing up is quick and easy. Buying a domain is a simple process. Relatively easy interface with additional capabilities if needed. Uploading photos or making changes is simple, which is really nice.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

Some templates are more difficult to customize than others. There were a few templates I wanted to use, but they did not allow for easy customization, so I had to switch. It can be a little frustrating to use when you initially get started. Editing sections can be confusing. Editing some sections could be easier as it's not always clear what exactly you are clicking on or selecting.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I host my portfolio on squarespace, which is one way I attract clients and employment. It easy to update and make changes when needed.

  ### 36. It's at least better than Wordpress if you're not a blogger.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chase B. | Multimedia Consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 11, 2019

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

Easily craft a clean website with Square Space. Unlike competitors, this platform seems to be less "bloggy."

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

I'd like to be able to get in and edit the HTML a little smoother... but that's the nature of working through a middle man to make a website.

**Recommendations to others considering Squarespace:**

If you know your way around a computer and/or basic design concepts, you'll be just fine... but the hours will go by FAST!

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I freelance design multimedia content and this is the best way to make a website without going crazy.

  ### 37. Best in Market Website Solution for Creative Business Types

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 23, 2017

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

Range of templates and designs
Ease of drag drop functionality
Good hosting services and reasonable rates
Some custom coding functionality
Easy use across devices and platforms

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

Lack of custom code options
Limited plugin capability

**Recommendations to others considering Squarespace:**

Try it out if your building a new website for a creative business like photography, video production, weddings etc... the platform is great for building sites that are very visual.
I wouldn't go to Squarespace for non visual web design.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Displaying portfolio work and gaining web presence for my clients

  ### 38. Squarespace: Great for Drag & Drop Website Building

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Robyn P. | SEO & Content Marketing Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 30, 2019

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

I like the many options for pre-built templates and the organization of the backend settings.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

Sometimes you have to use CSS to get around pre-built designs.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I've used Squarespace to help get a website up quickly for clients. The client hand-over is easier than most other builders.

  ### 39. Satisfied with Squarespace

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2019

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

I like that I’m the owner of the site, it’s extremely easy to use & multiple free templates available for use.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

I wish that I was able to edit products from my website and that the products were a little more intuitive.

**Recommendations to others considering Squarespace:**

Great platform to use if new to website building or if you’d just like a quick and easy platform for your products.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I needed a stand-alone website that was easy to set up.

  ### 40. Great Platform, Missing 1 Critical Feature

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kyle J. | CEO / Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 10, 2019

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

The ability to quickly edit the website and have your edits be live immediately. Simple layout and very easy to use.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

I dislike the fact that Squarespace does not offer a membership site feature (i.e. customers pay for access to additional content). This would make it much more competitive and would prevent users from having to find 3rd party pay-walls.

**Recommendations to others considering Squarespace:**

Great website unless you are looking for something with a member-only area. There is no option for people to create an account and login.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Providing a website and area for customers to check out what is being offered by my company. I love the built-in analytics that Squarespace makes available.

  ### 41. Beautiful designs and lots of versatility

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shelby B. | Art Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 31, 2018

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

The Squarespace designers definitely have their collective finger on the pulse of contemporary web design – chances are if you've seen a cool hero image placement or parallax design, Squarespace will have a template to match. Pretty easy to get started, especially with all the templates and suggested page layouts available. It's also essentially unbreakable, which for someone without an extensive background in web design makes the design process much more fun instead of frustrating.

Also, GREAT set of tutorial pages and videos – covers basically every question and gets specific on how certain features function on individual templates.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

While Squarespace usually hits the sweet spot between speed of putting together a website and customization, about once per site I design I'll run up against the guardrails of what a particular template permits. Usually I'm able to find a creative workaround, but when there are three separate ways of showing a lot of images on a page (gallery page, a page with an image template and a page with a gallery inserted) and NONE of them do exactly what I want, that can be frustrating.

**Recommendations to others considering Squarespace:**

Give it a shot! As a designer I find it easy but non-designers will be able to make great websites as well.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a freelance designer, being able to offer a simple web design option to my clients who are asking for identity design allows me to increase my revenue. Squarespace allows me to spend more of my design time figuring out what works best for my client, vs. spending hours trying to figure out how to do it.

  ### 42. Aesthetic and straightforward but not very flexible design-wise

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jenny M. | Freelance Tech Content Writer, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 30, 2018

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

This is the "high-fashion" version of WordPress and Wix. All the themes are clear, aesthetic, and like filling in blank spaces with your own words. If you're clueless in all things design, Squarespace takes your hand and leads you through creating your website without veering too far off from the theme.

You can change style colours, fonts, and add all sorts of paid add-ons if you're building an e-commerce site. I like the analytics page and the SEO page where you can add keywords you want to be found for. It's also very easy to integrate your own domain even if you got it elsewhere like GoDaddy or WordPress. If you don't have a domain, Squarespace lets you create one "free" with your paid plan.

There is an image editor built in so you can add filters, crop it, and other basic editing functions.

There is a trial version you can use, but you can't publish your website until you pay for a subscription.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

You can't copy and paste a section, you have to re-do the entire section all over again. The predetermined widgets are also very rigid and you can't really customize them unless you know HTML/CSS.

Not being able to change the color of button text or change text color for individual places is definitely a limitation. I also don't see how to add alt text to images.

The price is rather high in comparison to other platforms.

**Recommendations to others considering Squarespace:**

If you want something clean, modern, and hard to get wrong, this will do nicely.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Professional website for my business. Looks very clean and modern.

  ### 43. Easy and Intuitive Web Design

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 26, 2019

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

I love that it makes customizability easy

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

Customer support is very lacking. Often times my team is redirected to manuals and documents rather than actual solutions over the phone.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have created a beautiful and informative website that has been a huge part of our growth and increased digital presence.

  ### 44. Recent switch to Squarespace

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sarah F. | Ministry Assistant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 10, 2018

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

We recently switched to Squarespace. I am not the main administrator, but I do create pages, forms, edit the calendar, edit pages, etc. I like that it is so easy to use and intuitive, which allows someone like me who can not write code, to still edit and create pages on our website. I like that it allows moving images on the banner we have on our front page, which makes it more aesthetically pleasing and allows us to keep things up to date. There are many features that allow our people to interact with the website itself.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

I do wish the calendar feature allowed events to not merely be copied but span a time frame, for example, a recurring event that happens once a week for 12 weeks. It is tedious to have to copy each event. I also wish the website itself was more customizable, although it does serve its purpose for most of our needs. It would be nice to have graphics that can be highlighted or clicked on that allow more text to appear/open in a new window. Perhaps this exists and i am unaware or we have a more basic package.

**Recommendations to others considering Squarespace:**

Squarespace works great for our organization and is a big upgrade from what we used before and many other websites I see out there. It is relatively customizable and allows us to make it unique to our organization and carry our "DNA" even into our webpage. It allows our people to interact with us through content we add on the webpage for them or them to reach out to us.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Squarespace as the main website for our organization, which is a church. People can go on to listen to sermons, check our calendar, view our online bulletin, view small group questions, view what is going on, click a link that direct them to sign up for events, studies, etc. and take notes on the sermon and have it emailed to them. We like that it allows people to interact with it and do so much,

  ### 45. Great for simple website design

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Religious Institutions | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 03, 2019

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

Squarespace is great for very simply websites with basic and clean designs because it's easy to use and easy to maintain.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

The process of moving existing content blocks to different locations on your page is frustrating because the control is oversensitive and it often changes the layout of your page when simply trying to move a into a new position within the current layout.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Providing a website for our Church that is easy for visitors and members alike to navigate.

  ### 46. Square Space is a great option for churches

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joel A. | Youth Pastor, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 25, 2019

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

My favorite part of using square space was its professional server speeds and yet affordable pricing options for churches needing a website.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

While still being very usable to someone without coding experience, it does not have the user-friendly capabilities the Wix does.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Its a great opportunity for churches to present their organization professionally to their community by allowing them the opportunity to build a quality site without outsourcing someone.

  ### 47. Squarespace is a great entry level website building tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Darrel S. | Digital Media Manager, Marketing and Advertising, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 05, 2019

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

I like the low barrier of entry of squarespace. Anyone can setup and build a site without much help.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

I dislike some of the CSS tools and troubleshooting can be difficult.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We built and manage a few websites using Squarespace.

  ### 48. Very pretty - very easily

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Goods | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 19, 2018

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

The ease of use! It is so easy to make a website on Square Space that is consistently pretty throughout. Love it. I've never made my own site until now and it didn't take long for me to get the hang of it.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

It hasn't got a lot of ecommerce subscription-based functions at the moment which is quite a pity as subscription ecommerce businesses are booming at the moment.

**Recommendations to others considering Squarespace:**

Great, even for e-commerce. However, they need to do some catching up for subscription-based e-commerce stores.

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to affordably have my own pretty website that I know how to edit because I build it from the ground up.

  ### 49. Great Software to Create Beautiful Websites

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jacqueline D. | Lead Interior Designer, Architecture & Planning, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 01, 2018

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

Squarespace really takes care of all options for you. You can create your own domain, your own email, and an ad free website all in one place, which was a huge plus for me. There are many different layouts to choose from that are able to serve various different needs and services. The analytics are awesome and really help me understand what people are interacting with on my website. They even offer a google adwords credit for signing up! I think this is the best platform for creating your own website, making it look professional, and avoiding paying someone thousands of dollars to do it for you.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

It is fairly difficult to customize within certain layouts, and the process is clunky, with having to go to a different 'design' tab to do so. The pricing is moderate but you get what you pay for!

**Recommendations to others considering Squarespace:**

Watch all of the video tutorials!!!! Even watch a few before getting started. I consider myself fairly tech savvy but I had a lot of trouble trying to figure it out myself without help. Watch some videos first to avoid getting frustrated like I did!

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It has helped me create a beautiful website to help drive my business. 100% of my business so far has come from people online and interacting with my website.

  ### 50. Good basic features

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 20, 2018

**What do you like best about Squarespace?**

Squarespace is fairly easy and quick to get up and running. If offers some great templates to work off of and help to expedite your website setup. I also love the integrated marketing and analytics they help you better reach your customers/audience and provide insight into how your website is being used.

**What do you dislike about Squarespace?**

Some of the design features are very basic and achieving specific layouts/designs can be hard to accomplish. Had some issues with SSL when initially deploying website and held up marketing outreach and email blasts until resolved, which took a bit of time.

**Recommendations to others considering Squarespace:**

Good for setting up basic but great looking websites

**What problems is Squarespace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Getting a frontend website designed and deployed quickly to start outreach to potential customers to help build business.
