SpyFu is easy to use and is a great way to help find base level info about potential clients and competitors on both the PPC and SEO front. Sometimes I feel that the data is somewhat skewed especially the Costs on the PPC side. There are times that the monthly cost is much lower or higher than what a current client is spending therefore trying to determine the competitor's advertising dollar landscape is questionable. I often had to plug all of the suggested keywords into the keyword planner which was frustrating because the words it recommended had such high CPC values listed on SpyFu. Often these values were a bit off or unreliable in comparison. Also matched with current campaigns they were unreliable.

The good buy/great buy system seemed a bit weird as a result because great buys seemed to have oddly high cost per click average bids. The keyword list was a bit difficult to use as well with adding and incporotating into Google. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I can research the types of keywords others selling similar mobile clinical apps. It can also track my own SEO progress after understanding our keyword strengths and weaknesses. We usually address those by improving page headers and adding or updated content addressing search queries. In a short week, our average positions have improved by 100s and some are now in page 0 and page 1 of the search results. For us SEO seems to work the best and better than Ads. SpyFu does a lot of computations to look at all our keywords and competitors' too, so understandably it can take many days to gather that data. We use Spyfu for competitor Intelligence for both SEO and PPC. It does a really good job for PPC Intelligence and a decent job for SEO. We have other tools for SEO spying that have some additional benefits but on the whole Spyfu is one of our must have tools for our Local SEO and PPC marketing agency.
