I appreciate SpinOne as our go-to for recommending third-party backup and ransomware protection services for Google Workspace and Microsoft clients. It's a workable and easy-to-deploy solution for clients needing backup services. I like that it offers the ability to restore data and push it to the intended destination. I also value the multiple backups that take place throughout the day for point-in-time recovery. Another useful feature is the ability to fully back up a user account and maintain the backup even if the account is deleted. The straightforward deployment with assistance from SpinOne reps has been beneficial in keeping everything on track. One of SpinOne’s most helpful features is the main user dashboard. Rather than hunting through menus, I can quickly see app risks and run scans to flag potentially high-risk app installations. At the same time, I can monitor our storage usage, overall security posture, and data backups. Having all of this in one place saves me a lot of time because I can tell what needs attention at a glance. The onboarding process, customer support, and responsiveness to feedback have been exceptional. From our first meeting with a Spin rep, we uncovered more use cases than we expected, and they consistently focus on helping us achieve our company goals. Their responses to technical issues, feedback, and feature requests are fast and helpful, and the Spin team checks in regularly to see how things are going and what else they can do to support us. While the initial pricing is very reasonable, adding additional storage and licenses between contract renewals can become expensive. While spin.ai has AI right in the domain name, the presence of AI features isn’t very noticeable. It’s unclear if or how AI is utilized in Spin. That’s not necessarily a negative, since not every platform needs AI baked in, and pushing AI without a strong use case is worse than having no AI features at all. Still, if AI features are present and available, it would be helpful to see where and how they’re being used. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What problems is SpinOne solving and how is that benefiting you? SpinOne has helped us solve several problems. Prior to SpinOne, reviewing the security posture of Chrome extension was a manual process that took a significant amount of time. With SpinOne's Risk Assessment database, we can search the extension that's been requested and see an overview of the security risks for the extension which significantly reduces the time spent compared to a manual assessment. SpinOne has helped us meet regulatory data retention requirements by ensuring our Google Drive content is backed up. The backups also offer the added benefits of being able to recover files that were mistakenly deleted by users and offer a fallback for Google Drive in our BCDR program. The integration with Google Calendar has been very helpful as well. Prior to onboarding SpinOne, when a user was off-boarded we would sometimes lose access and visibility on what meetings the user had scheduled with clients, requiring teams to reach out to clients directly and set up new meetings. With Spin's calendar integration we are able to locate the meeting information and provide it to the team eliminating the need to contact and reschedule with clients. We love Spin’s user-friendly interface, straightforward configuration, strong data and ransomware protection, and overall ease of use. My favorite feature is policy management. We set up policies that automatically back up all our users within specific organizational units and across all our shared drives, so there’s no admin intervention needed when adding or removing users or when creating new shared drives in Google Workspace. Our account manager, Daniel Hagedus, is a pleasure to work with and is highly knowledgeable about the product. He also made sure it met all our requirements. Very easy to set up and get started. Our onboarding was very fast, and data was being backed up immediately. We have not seen many glitches, and even when there is one, Spin tech team generally reaches out to us before we notice it on the dashboard. We use it the application sparingly mainly to spot check that the back ups are working, and just getting ready to roll out End User access to restore their data themselves. This would help make migrations significantly easier and something spin should really look into. I also think they could benefit from a client based back up solution. For us, the software works very well within Google and Microsoft environments...even backing things up that other tools cannot see like the consolidated "virtual" folders in Google Drive when local directories are synced to Drive. The custom success managers and support engineers are incredibly responsive, helpful, and flexible to ensure you're getting the most out of their software to meet your business needs. For example, I would love to have more granular control options for each Google Shared Drive, along with enhanced shared drive management features. Additional menu options or dashboards that provide better visibility into individual shared drives would greatly improve our understanding and oversight.
