"Streamlined communication and collaboration with a modern inbox experience"
5/5
What do you like best about Spike?

What I like best about Spike is how it transforms email into a real-time chat-like experience, making communication faster and less formal. The built-in collaboration tools, such as notes, tasks, and file sharing, help reduce the need to switch between multiple apps. The unified inbox and clean interface make it very easy to stay organized. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Spike?

While Spike is very intuitive, it could benefit from more advanced integrations with CRM platforms and project management tools. The mobile app works well, but some features are a bit limited compared to the desktop version. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"They haven't supported Japanese search for years. Their development response is extremely slow."
1/5
What do you like best about Spike?

I’ve been using the paid version of Spike for over three years. There are definitely good points — I like that it works like a chat app, makes attachments easy to view in a list, and even offers Slack-like group features. There’s a lot to like.

But despite these strengths, the lack of support for searching Japanese text is a huge, frustrating flaw that makes it hard to rely on Spike alone. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Spike?

I’ve been paying for Spike for over three years, and it’s shocking that they still don’t support searching Japanese text. This is a serious flaw. I’ve reached out to their support multiple times over the years, and the answers are always some variation of “we’re considering it” or “it’s difficult.” In the era of AI, how can searching Japanese text possibly be that hard?

The reality is, Spike is unusable on its own if you work in Japanese. You’ll need to pair it with Gmail or another client, because searching even slightly older messages is impossible. At one point, they actually suggested splitting search terms—like searching for “TO” and “KYO” instead of “TOKYO.” That’s absurd. Just imagine how many useless results you’d get for something as common as “to.” Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Switching from Spark to Spike"
5/5
What do you like best about Spike?

One item that works best for me, the email that turns into a text message style, It removed all the redundant messages and keeps it clean without going through all the threads trying to find what you need. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Spike?

What I didn't like was trying to locate other things that I was used to, the draft folder is one I couldn't locate. The Spike team was very helpful and I was able to accomplish my objective once I reached out. It was just a learning curve. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Why SPIKE Works for Business Owners with ADHD"
5/5
What do you like best about Spike?

As a business owner with ADHD, managing email has always been a challenge. Traditional inboxes are cluttered, overwhelming, and time-consuming, making it difficult to stay on top of important messages while maintaining efficiency. Since switching to SPIKE, I have experienced a significant improvement in how I handle communication, stay organized, and manage daily tasks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Spike?

The built-in task and notes feature is useful, but it lacks some of the deeper functionalities that dedicated task management tools offer. Enhancements like due dates, recurring tasks, subtasks, and integration with external project management tools (such as Asana, Trello, or ClickUp) would make it even more effective for business owners managing multiple priorities.
