## SpatialChat Reviews
  ### 1. Transformative Virtual Engagement Platform

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Crystal T. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 08, 2026

**What do you like best about SpatialChat?**

I love how SpatialChat stands out with its flexibility, making it perfect for events, workshops, and community spaces. It supports creativity and interaction in a way that balances both structure and flow. This is particularly powerful for facilitators, educators, and community builders aiming to create meaningful human-centered experiences online. The unique and immersive approach to virtual connection, going far beyond traditional meeting platforms, is something I was looking for. The ability to move freely within a space and engage in organic conversations makes it feel like a real gathering. I'm also very grateful for finding SpatialChat after searching extensively and appreciate the growth and potential it offers.

**What do you dislike about SpatialChat?**

While there is a learning curve and new updates, as there are with any evolving platform, the potential it offers is well worth the exploration. I do believe that they need new tutorial videos to match the new setup. I'm sure they'll be getting to that soon.

**What problems is SpatialChat solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I find SpatialChat provides a unique and immersive virtual connection, allowing freedom of movement and organic conversations. It creates a real gathering feel, unlike traditional meetings.

  ### 2. Be creative with SpatialChat!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rudy A. | Photographe, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 22, 2022

**What do you like best about SpatialChat?**

he features I like the most:
Customizable room for any type of features you can activate: megaphone, screen share, microphone...
Customizable backgrounds with the opacity slider
iFrame is a powerful feature to elevate your room experience.
Stage new UI/UX with more engaging features with participants.

Last but not least, Spatial has a nice and helpful growing community, which is key nowadays!

**What do you dislike about SpatialChat?**

- Register and login experience should be simplified
- Register and log in without creating an account

**What problems is SpatialChat solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SpatialChat got in its brand name the definition of what you will get in your hands to create and elevate your virtual events or work remote experiences, with remarkable inspirations of interactive space types.

As an early user, I am using SpatialChat by discovering, learning, and mastering their regular features updates. This platform got a comprehensive vision of the virtual niche in this tight competition.

  ### 3. Watch them wander - and wonder :-)

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Judy R. | Author, Speaker, Trainer, Coach, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 17, 2021

**What do you like best about SpatialChat?**

As others here have said, it's fun watching people "settle in" and learn how to use the space: they are usually delighted! It does take a few minutes though, so you'll want to plan a suitable opening activity.

Personally, I enjoy carefully choosing the background to be ideal for what I'm planning. For example, in a recent event we used a background with six tables, each with a different coloured carpet underneath. That meant we could say, "To discuss Topic A, move to the blue table," and so on.

As the event continued, we noticed a pattern of people moving their avatars to "sit at tables" when they intended to engage in conversation, and to leave them in-between the tables when they were looking around for activity partners, or just mingling. It was delightful, though not surprising, to see the impact of the background metaphor.

And then, we changed the background image on the fly. Suddenly, the group felt whisked into space, with no tables or fixed points to orientate around. What a difference!

**What do you dislike about SpatialChat?**

"Share screen" is a bit awkward, especially when several groups are working in parallel in different parts of the space

**What problems is SpatialChat solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Events where it's important for the participants to be able to move under their own steam, to choose their own small conversation groups etc, such as collaborative innovation workshops, "soft skills" training, informal meetups, social events

Once benefit for organisers, especially trainers, is to be able to gently listen in to the breakout conversations without disrupting them - for example, to check whether people are doing the prescribed activity or just chatting

  ### 4. A more fun social experience comparied to the typical video meeting platform

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kai C. | Service Designer | Design Thinking Facilitator & Coach | Organizational Strategic Design Specialist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 16, 2021

**What do you like best about SpatialChat?**

This platform gave me the most room to create the immersive event space I wanted along with having spatial audio technology. Unlike the majority of competitor platforms, the UI doesn't look like a 2D video game is also is a win. The ability to use Youtube videos as the background was something I've been hoping to do prior to finding Spatial.chat and this platform allowed for it. It took them a while to update their free plan to increase from 50 users instead of the 4 ppl max they previously allowed, which allowed more folks to test it out with a larger group (for me, allowing clients to test out a first prototype of an event) and then clients could subscribe to the paid plan to host their event. With all of the events I've hosted, from personal ones to client commissioned events, everyone commented on how well it mimicked the visceral experience of being in a room with other people!

The most design/planning intensive one I created and managed was one where I was commissioned to host a live musical performance within a room that was set up like that of a small venue performance space. There were a few logistics to plan and to backstage stage-manage, but it was well worth it to see the audience watching a live performance while sending out emojis from the audience... I have a sample reel for anyone who is interested to see it as it will give you an idea of what is possible beyond the basics.

**What do you dislike about SpatialChat?**

I wish there is a waiting room feature like that Zoom, Butter, Appear.in, etc.. where folks can knock to join the first room set for their arrival OR allowing rooms to have a Doorbell option that be turned on would help host/facilitator be aware of new arrivals.

It would be nice if there were layer options, bring forward/send backward to help with managing content shared in the space.

For some with older harware/computers, there were some challenges in getting the platform to work smoothly, so it requires me to design a pre-event experience to educate and prep attendees to help them have the best experience.

**Recommendations to others considering SpatialChat:**

Make sure to prepare prior to using it for an event, read up on OS and hardware requirements, prep your guests as well.

**What problems is SpatialChat solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows me to create virtual social experiences that facilitate a sense of being together, one that helps our brains to feel a sense of connection and being in a different environment while having creative fun right at our desk. I was also able to team other apps for playing games or watching videos together, making it fun for me to design experiences everytime.

  ### 5. Teaching online as never imagined before

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cleber M. | Professor Assistente, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 16, 2021

**What do you like best about SpatialChat?**

SpatialChat is a beautiful experiment of how an online class can happen. You can't compare to other alternatives. SpatiolChat allows students to talk among themselves in the class. Another feature that I like is multiple share screens. No other conference software allowed me to do so. For coding courses, it's an invaluable feature. I would say that SpatialChat is the first tool that enhanced my classes better than my real world classroom teaching. I felt a better teacher using SpatialChat than in some classrooms.

**What do you dislike about SpatialChat?**

The only feature that I miss in SpatialChat is a dedicated app for mobile devices. The website works on mobile devices, but it could do better if it had a specific app to work with multiple Android and Apple devices.

**What problems is SpatialChat solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SpatialChat allowed my students to express themselves with the multimedia assets. I can have an actual interactive class without being the only speaker in real-time.

  ### 6. SpatialChat is a fun platform for virtual meetings!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Carlos G. | Manager, Software Development, Delivery Pipeline Engineering, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 13, 2021

**What do you like best about SpatialChat?**

SpatialChat provides a virtual space where you can meet with friends or co-workers. My favorite feature is that you can share the room, and the volume in the conversation will amplify or reduce as you get closer or further respectively. You can also share your screen, or a video that will play like if it were in a screen.

**What do you dislike about SpatialChat?**

In general I like the tool very much and I believe it's well made. But I wish I had a better understanding of how the data is used and how secure the platform is. E.g., if I'm meeting with co-workers, I'd be thinking of what information we share through the tool.

**Recommendations to others considering SpatialChat:**

Review the privacy policy to make sure that it meets your requirements. And if so, have fun, it's a great product!

**What problems is SpatialChat solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm looking for a way to meet virtually or remotely, especially for distributed teams, and for teams that can't meet when there are travel restrictions. Some extra benefits I've realized include that this platform is original and fun. I love the feel and touch and the fact that breakout rooms can happen in the same room without interfering with each other. Anyone can move closer to other groups which would be the equivalent of leaving a breakout room and joining a new one.

  ### 7. SpatialChat, a great way to have videocalls with flexible and engaging interactions

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mark M. | Business owner / trainer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 09, 2021

**What do you like best about SpatialChat?**

SpatialChat works great and is very well documented. But thet greatest thing is the many kinds of interaction you can have. Not only is it a no-brainer to have people interact in smaller groups, you can also do many other kinds of interactions based on where the participants place their avatar. That allows for all kinds of interesting interactions - I have the feeling that I'm still scratching the surface of the possibilities

**What do you dislike about SpatialChat?**

The only thing that took me a lot of time is finding truly good examples of interactions. Yes, there are Youtube videos, but most of these videos aren't very helpful and the really good examples are spread out across quite a few of these videos. I was in a live demo as well, but that was with only two other people and we never got to the really interesting interaction. This also makes it harder to explain the awesome potential of SpatialChat to others.

**Recommendations to others considering SpatialChat:**

If you're looking for a richer way to have events, professional trainings or basically any get-together with rich and spontaneous interaction, SpatialChat is definitely worth considering!

**What problems is SpatialChat solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The problem/challenge SpatialChat could solve is the lack of truly rich interactions with live video online on the one hand and an not-to-hard learning curve on the other. Really getting the hang of SpatialChat does take some time in your session before people go beyond the very basics of just talking and also start using their position consciously. But once people do get it, you can use the canvas to show all kinds of things and have people interact with it and ask questions by moving their avatar. Especially with a training that requires a lot of interactions, you're not bound by the many limitations of Zoom-like environments where breakout rooms is a cumbersome ritual where you suddenly lose the group as a whole.

  ### 8. Dynamic, web-based attendee fav!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brianna S. | Account Executive, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 23, 2021

**What do you like best about SpatialChat?**

My clients and attendees love that they're able to skip to download headache that comes along with other platforms. Onboarding is SO easy. Another highlight is the multiple ways to share content - design assets, videos, gifs, etc. is becoming increasingly important to brands and we're happy to offer SpatialChat as a resolution. Lastly - SpatialChat is always adding new features, making it one of my agency's most dynamic platforms to offer.

**What do you dislike about SpatialChat?**

We haven't experienced many glitches, especially since attendees check their audio + video before entering the platform, but there is a concern of live support if any issues do arise. A lot of our events are international with off times, so that's something we'll need to explore a resolution for. Additionally, more onboarding notes within the platform throughout the experience would help the event team with questions along the way such as "how do we move around again?" "why can't I hear this attendee?" etc.
Not a dislike, but would love to see this platform grow to offer microsite capabilities, registration and more.

**What problems is SpatialChat solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Web-based AND face-to-face networking is a major win for our team and clients. We want to make the attendee experience totally effortless, and SpatialChat truly focuses on getting attendees into the platform and engaging as fast as possible. SpatialChat also helps us offer a holistic experience - we have control over design, music, speaker management, etc.

  ### 9. Spatial Chat is very inventive and clever for the new world we live in

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 25, 2022

**What do you like best about SpatialChat?**

Spatial chat is amazing, I teach 1-1 sessions and it means that all of my students are able to use the same link and sit at different areas while I am with other students and then when it is there time they can come over. Perfect for this and makes my work a lot easier

**What do you dislike about SpatialChat?**

There is nothing about spatial chat that I dislike

**What problems is SpatialChat solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Spatial chat is saving me time by allowing all of my students to use the same link.

  ### 10. The BEST alternative for those tired of little black boxes

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jennifer C. | Tutor, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 04, 2021

**What do you like best about SpatialChat?**

SpatialChat is FUN and highly functional. I love seeing the reactions of my adult students when they realize how easy it is to move around, to change groups, to interact with me as an instructor as well as with each other. I love that feature, too - it is so much faster to simply "move" to a group, instead of having to navigate breakout rooms.
The fact that multiple groups can share screens at the same time is also a huge plus for the small groups that I often work with.

**What do you dislike about SpatialChat?**

As I also work with younger students, I wish there were a few more controls that I could set. I would love a waiting room (other than just constantly changing the password), as well as some larger group settings (mute all, the ability for ME to move people around, etc.). For adults, though, it isn't a problem.

**What problems is SpatialChat solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For a world weary of little black boxes, this feels informal and is highly enjoyable while still allowing us to stay focused on the productive work that needs to happen. It has helped my students develop stronger rapport with each other, as well, which was somewhat lacking with the formality of other platforms that I used before.

  ### 11. Very good for teaching !

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Hansu N. | Senior French Teacher, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 23, 2022

**What do you like best about SpatialChat?**

Its functionality to have activities such as World Cafés which are a fun way to engage the students in a language class.

**What do you dislike about SpatialChat?**

Sometimes it takes up a lof of data and those with weak connectivity often have problems connecting to it.

**What problems is SpatialChat solving and how is that benefiting you?**

.

  ### 12. Multiple benefits to using SpatialChat for organizational R&D

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dr. Katherina T. | Faculty, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 29, 2021

**What do you like best about SpatialChat?**

I love how easy it is to use, to share information and to network with others. Unlike many other social platforms, SpatialChat allows participants to gather, to see each other, to move around and disseminate information with ease -- and fun! SpatialChat is engaging and foster active discussions. The best I've seen so far (and I've been looking)!

**What do you dislike about SpatialChat?**

Um... not much! I see I need to write more, but I really don't know what to say!

**Recommendations to others considering SpatialChat:**

If you are considering using SpatialChat for your next interactive event, attend a demo session or two with any questions you have. When I have events, I incorporate "an exploration of SpatialChat" as the Welcome event for my attendees, immediately following the session introductions. We jump between rooms and chat with each other and move around the space and use text boxes to record expectations for the session. Typically, the only attendees who have trouble are those who come late -- it is best to have a host hang out in the welcome space to run that quick exploration before they catch up with the session.

**What problems is SpatialChat solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use flipcharts a lot in my workshop planning, which are impossible to use online. Except in SpatialChat, where I can set up spaces for participants to brainstorm ideas and solutions, to see each other's work and to save that work for future exploration. Way better than flipcharts, which I have to transcribe before I can analyse the information!

  ### 13. Spatial Chat helps a small-town game store run with the "big dogs!"

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jacqueline S. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 29, 2021

**What do you like best about SpatialChat?**

It is so easy to get started. I've been able to give the link to customers, and with minimal coaching, they're in the rooms communicating and networking like professionals!

**What do you dislike about SpatialChat?**

There isn't anything that I dislike. It has worked well for me in all of the applications I've tried.

**Recommendations to others considering SpatialChat:**

You will have to use the more expensive versions to be able to host larger groups. I, fortunately, am a small game store, and I can have up to 50 people in my room(s) for a short while at no cost. I can also upgrade any time I need to for more significant events. For me, it's effortless to use, and my players enjoy being able to meet up when social distancing has been keeping us apart.

**What problems is SpatialChat solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have been able to attend virtual conferences and trade shows. I've also been able to host gaming events for my customers that have been well received.

  ### 14. If you want to offer your audience a new immersive experience, try this tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gabriela M. | Coach Ontológico Profesional, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 09, 2021

**What do you like best about SpatialChat?**

What I liked most about this tool is that it can simulate the physical space of any environment, people can move on their own and listen only to those who are nearby, simulating real physical space. It is truly an experience that takes you out of the control zone and allows for the development of new stimuli and a rewarding experience. I recommend its use to generate a positive and playful impact.

**What do you dislike about SpatialChat?**

What you need to pay attention to when using spatial chat is organizing the space so that people don't feel lost the first time they enter. You need to clearly define each area, and if possible, add images and signs.

**What problems is SpatialChat solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The use of spatial chat resolves meetings or training sessions that require interaction among the audience and the need to switch between people to interact within a short period of time.

  ### 15. The tool to bring conferences and network to the digital age

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aaron H. | Executive Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 19, 2021

**What do you like best about SpatialChat?**

The best thing about SpatialChat is in the name - it's the spatial component of the platform. With the ability to customize different rooms and easily control access to them, SpatialChat offers a way for attendees to explore and communicate in unique, flexible environments. My organization used SpatialChat for a post-conference networking event, in which we held discussion events on diversity in the workforce, followed by chats in the "bar" and a live-streamed cocktail mixing event. The flexibility of this platform is only limited by the organizer's creativity and ability to generate graphic content for the background.

In my opinion, SpatialChat offers the best way to bring the networking exchanges of in-person conferences to the online age. After many of these events were made digital (or hybrid) due to COVID, there has been a struggle to replace the personal feel of networking interactions. SpatialChat offers the best solution (that I know of) to get a bit more personality and relaxed conversation out of large groups of people that mimics real-life interactions. Zoom and other platforms don't provide easy solutions to chat as small groups when hundreds of people may be online. SpatialChat found a way to capture that perfectly, and I look forward to organizing my next event with this platform.

**What do you dislike about SpatialChat?**

There are some limits on the customization of the spaces, particularly if you want to plan live streaming events. For example, we had a major delay for a live-streamed drink mixing/trivia event. In the end it was fine, and everyone was happy, but it is best to talk with a SpatialChat representative to make the most of your space. Definitely take the time to customize your space, create your own graphics, design your own events, etc. This may take some time, but it's worth it!

The price is high for one day rooms, but it still makes for a fun event, so plan accordingly.

**What problems is SpatialChat solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A significant challenge has been connecting early-career professionals and students to businesses and professionals in my field through an informal chatting platform. This platform equalizes the playing field a bit, making group conversations more approachable for everyone, no matter the stage of their career.

  ### 16. SpatialChat in Elementary Education

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tristan A. | Elementary Teacher, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 23, 2021

**What do you like best about SpatialChat?**

I LOVE the proximity feature! Students can only hear other students speaking when they are close to one another.

**What do you dislike about SpatialChat?**

It isn't easy to end the session; I've found a workaround by setting a timer. Since our class is on Zoom, students cannot hear me speaking on Zoom if I'm in SpatialChat.

It would be a cool feature to have if passwords were set for various rooms within Spatial chat. It would prevent students from eavesdropping on other groups.

**What problems is SpatialChat solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am solving the problem that Zoom has with its breakout rooms. Students are unable to switch breakout rooms once they are assigned. With SpatialChat, students can wander from group to group. It feels like an actual classroom in a virtual setting.

  ### 17. So real

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joaquín Z. | Cofundador y miembro de la Comisión Directiva, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 29, 2022

**What do you like best about SpatialChat?**

I love how Spatialchat makes everything so real. Virtual events are as warm as in-person events with this platform. I love it.

**What do you dislike about SpatialChat?**

I would love it to be for free. Anyway, I understand the decision.

**What problems is SpatialChat solving and how is that benefiting you?**

During the pandemic, we wanted to create virtual events but it was kind of boring. When we met SpatialChat everything changed.

  ### 18. An amazing platform for virtual training

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Julian J. | CEO , Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 17, 2021

**What do you like best about SpatialChat?**

It is an excellent platform for virtual education or meeting environment. It's like being together in a real space. People can talk to each other just if they are close together, and that is fantastic for doing exercises and small meetings in the same place.

**What do you dislike about SpatialChat?**

It could get a bit chaotic since people can talk to each other, and it is challenging to make sure everybody is on the same page at the same time. The administrator can't summon people or notice if someone is talking and not paying attention.

**What problems is SpatialChat solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are a corporate training company and for some of our programs, Spatial Chat is just perfect. We can split the group, ask them to discuss something, and then continue with the full audience, all in the same place.

  ### 19. Great engagement platform - Analytics coming soon

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Margaux M. | Head of Community, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 16, 2021

**What do you like best about SpatialChat?**

SpatialChat is a fantastic platform for community engagement. Participants pick it up very fast and enjoy the ability to casually enter conversations in a way that is so similar to in-person events. Congratulations on a great platform and intuitive functionality. Note: It is also easy to set up from the backend as well.

**What do you dislike about SpatialChat?**

SpatialChat has promised me that more analytics are coming soon. Fingers crossed! It is a great platform, but for business use, more analytics are required to ensure we understand who is coming to our events and allow us the opportunity to follow up afterward.

**What problems is SpatialChat solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SpatialChat allows us to run an event where interaction amongst attendees is paramount. The platform focused on this over webinar-style presenting (though a 'stage' room is also available and works very well!).

  ### 20. The best platform for after parties and social experiences !

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sofía F. | COO y Responsable de Contenidos de Formación, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 01, 2021

**What do you like best about SpatialChat?**

It is such a different platform to the typical zoom conferences, meet, etc. that participants enter with a different attitude and good disposition. The onboarding is so easy that anyone can participate and enjoy it for the first moment. It's an incredible experience and makes people feel closer in this virtuality living. We have used it to dance, to play games, to chat as if you were in a bar.

**What do you dislike about SpatialChat?**

I would like to have some ideas or examples for interactions. Sometimes I think I'm not taking advantage of the full potential the platform has. Maybe something i don´t like its that to share a screen its a bit complicated. Another thing can be the prize, that for some countries and in our case it's expensive to afford it if you are planning to do something for a large amount of people.

**What problems is SpatialChat solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The main problem it solves is the lack of face-to-face experiences and networking or after-party due to the pandemic. Other problem that Spatial solves, its when you need to facilitate dynamics with more than one team at the same time.

  ### 21. A transformative virtual experience

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mara P. | DEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 07, 2021

**What do you like best about SpatialChat?**

I like to see how people get amazed by the experience. For me it was transformative: an before and an after. I don't want to use "zoom" or "meet" or please not "teams" not ever never again.
Participation is the key word: I love the way you can interact with other people. It looks like you are organizing an event so similar to the real life but online.
I don't want to get back to the other platforms , it became dull. Spatialchat the innovative my company NETI is an innovation consultancy firms its suit us, goes with our way of doing things. Rebel, fun , colorfull !!!

**What do you dislike about SpatialChat?**

People with a fixed mindset have trouble adapting to the platform. If your participants don't have a playful and joyful personalities, you will find that it is hard to get things done. Advice: prepare your team with some tricks to smooth the adaptation to the platform for grumpy people.

**What problems is SpatialChat solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm running innovation session and makethones

  ### 22. Nice concept for medium sized international workshops

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mattias H. | Research Group Leader, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 15, 2021

**What do you like best about SpatialChat?**

flexibility to define background images, supported by several browsers, good feature to have different room setups (for audio only, video presentation and ad-hoc gatherings), generally good audio and video quality

**What do you dislike about SpatialChat?**

the video conference room only allows you to have 5-6 people "on the stage" at the same time, which makes it hard to have questions/discussions with a larger audience. There seems to be no option to define "non-audible" walls in a social gathering map, which leaves you with some problems of interference between different groups chatting (where spatial distance is not always easy to manage)

**What problems is SpatialChat solving and how is that benefiting you?**

organising a medium sized international workshop, with multiple video presentations, an ad-hoc poster discussion session and a panel discussion.

  ### 23. Spatial Chat is remarkable and true experience when you go into it

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** William J. | Alumni Relations Coordinator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 21, 2021

**What do you like best about SpatialChat?**

SpatialChat helps/support when you are putting an event together, or a meeting is they answer your emails right away to make sure you know what features you need to make the event unforgettable for all involved. With SpatialChat, you can change the backgrounds to whatever photo you have to feel like you are actually at the location. It is effortless to use, and once you are on it, it's fun too.

**What do you dislike about SpatialChat?**

What I disliked about SpatialChat is that you can't have more than 50 people in a room. If we have a reunion or meeting with 60 people, we would need to separate into two rooms of 30 then. Sometimes you want to have a meeting or event of 60-70 people in one room, and you can't do it with SpatialChat because you need to use the broadcast message so everyone can hear.

**What problems is SpatialChat solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SpatialChat was able to help us out with our meetings and reunions so that our guests felt they were actually at the location and not at home. You can move around and chat to different groups in your same room, then again go into another one just like you would in a networking event in person.

  ### 24. Cool, interactive, customisable and miles better than Zoom for virtual networking!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Órlaith D. | Event Coordinator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 15, 2021

**What do you like best about SpatialChat?**

If you have been using Zoom (or any similar apps) for your virtual networking then you need to switch to Spatial Chat immediately! Spatial Chat gives the virtual attendees freedom and autonomy to move freely from room to room, and each room can be different from the last. The amazing thing about Spatial Chat is of course the spatial sound feature, which mimics what you would experience when physically present in a room with lots of groups of people having separate conversations. I can't wait to see how Spatial Chat expands its offerings over the next few years and I hope that it can change people's perceptions on virtual events!

**What do you dislike about SpatialChat?**

There is always room for improvement so I would like to suggest some things which could make SpatialChat even better:
- Ability to invite participants on stage in the Stage Room
- 'Buildable scenes' - customisable options for building the layout of a room, rather than having to use a whole template from the library provided or upload your own background
-

**What problems is SpatialChat solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to provide exciting and interactive networking opportunities for event participants without using Zoom (which, frankly, everyone is bored of!). We have realised the benefits of being able to provide customised spaces for networking, all from the comfort of our own desks.

  ### 25. Spatial Chat is great for networking events and small group activities

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Katie O. | Executive Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 29, 2021

**What do you like best about SpatialChat?**

Individual attendees have more freedom to move around and chat with other attendees without disrupting the room or having to rely on the host to create breakout rooms.

**What do you dislike about SpatialChat?**

There are some audio issues on occasion, noise in the background for some users but not all.

**Recommendations to others considering SpatialChat:**

For people accustomed to using Zoom, Spatial Chat takes a little getting used to. Be prepared to walk people through how to use it. My attendees took a couple sessions to adjust, but most seem to prefer Spatial Chat to Zoom.

**What problems is SpatialChat solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My nonprofit has virtual events with 30+ attendees, and it's difficult for everyone to be an active participant. Spatial Chat allows us to self-select into small groups for conversation.

  ### 26. Unique concept

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Pedro G. | Diretor de fundos de investimento, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 16, 2021

**What do you like best about SpatialChat?**

Creating multiple rooms and the sound that considers distance is incredible. We use it for work but I can see many uses out of work as well. It has increased productivity and allowed us to hire more people to work remotely.

**What do you dislike about SpatialChat?**

The chat is not good enough. Sending files via chat should be possible.

**Recommendations to others considering SpatialChat:**

Give it a try, it's easy to use, intuitive and should make you think twice before dismissing remote work.

**What problems is SpatialChat solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keeping people from listening to everything like Zoom or Google Meet is a clear advantage. It allow us to focus on work rather than people breathing on your headphones.

  ### 27. Easy, Interactive and Engaging Platform to meet virtually

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Events Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 29, 2021

**What do you like best about SpatialChat?**

Easy to navigate, and guests understand how to use the platform quickly. Guests are impressed with the space and functionality immediately. They like that they can meet virtually outside of Zoom. As an admin, I can easily make updates on the fly, upload my own backgrounds, embed images, GIFs, and videos. I've used the platform for various clients and activities, from fun, team building events to educational journeys.

**What do you dislike about SpatialChat?**

I dislike how small the avatar video is. People don't want to zoom in to see other people better. Also, the only security is a single password, which any guest can easily share.

**What problems is SpatialChat solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A more engaging way for people to meet virtually, outside of Zoom. Users are more energized to meet in Spatial Chat and don't complain about zoom fatigue. There have been times we had to kick users out because they didn't want to leave the space.

  ### 28. Really good for communication

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Clara F. | Assessora de Produção , Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 29, 2021

**What do you like best about SpatialChat?**

You can use the same link forever, there is no need to always create a new call. You can customize your space just like in real life.

**What do you dislike about SpatialChat?**

You can add images but you can't rotate them, the background is set in an angle but if you add pictures they are not in the same angle.
The platform is a bit heavy, some computers have trouble staying in the call.

**Recommendations to others considering SpatialChat:**

Look at all tools and have fun!

**What problems is SpatialChat solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have more communication and participation with my team, we can stay in the same room and if needed we can simply turn our mics on and talk to each other.

  ### 29. Awesome platform for 'real-life' interactions virtually :)

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Professional Training & Coaching | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 08, 2021

**What do you like best about SpatialChat?**

I love the spatial audio feature of SpatialChat - that you can move to different areas to have side conversations. It's just like real-life. I also like that you can speak naturally with each other - no weird audio distortions and disruptions.

I also like how fun and playful it is!

**What do you dislike about SpatialChat?**

The only thing I can think of is that the people are too small on the platform. I wish we could have 'larger' images of each other - because I find myself I'm always zooming into 200% to increase seeing others... I wish that could be a lot bigger!

**What problems is SpatialChat solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I've been using SpatialChat mostly to create connections with others in a more natural way. I think it's a great platform to have conversations that are more relaxed and natural.

  ### 30. Good tool for online teaching!!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kate ケイト S. | Associate Professor, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 25, 2021

**What do you like best about SpatialChat?**

I love the atmosphere, and also the way it simulates being physically in a room (when you move away from someone, you can't hear them, etc).

**What do you dislike about SpatialChat?**

It takes a little getting used to. Also if more than one person is screen sharing it starts to look a bit cluttered.

**Recommendations to others considering SpatialChat:**

I recommend giving it a try. It's worked well for me. Try out the features, and when using it make sure to allow a couple of minutes so you can give an orientation to your users. Then enjoy!

**What problems is SpatialChat solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The benefit for me, as a teacher, is that for the students it is really user friendly. They seem to like using SpatialChat which makes online activities more enjoyable.

  ### 31. A Dynamic Space to Gather

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Albert B. | Executive Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 28, 2021

**What do you like best about SpatialChat?**

I love how much flexibility there is to the rooms. I love that people can move freely. It's such a great platform for social gatherings.

**What do you dislike about SpatialChat?**

I have a question about accessibility for folks with older technology and slower internet. There is also a learning curve for newbies.

**What problems is SpatialChat solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Gathering virtually in more flexible ways, which I think SpatialChat excels at.

  ### 32. Amazing.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 22, 2021

**What do you like best about SpatialChat?**

The rooms and the practicality of it, the options to use cameras and microphones at the same time, and how you can easily change rooms whenever you want. It's also a very good fact you don't have to create accounts to use it.

**What do you dislike about SpatialChat?**

Sometimes when we are close to the rooms we can listen to the others from there, but when we stay in the middle of the room it doesn't happen. Sometimes My students had to close the other sites that were using their microphones to use it.

**What problems is SpatialChat solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I had many difficulties with communication, because of the pandemic I'm teaching using the computer, and it's horrible to find good platforms to students communicate

  ### 33. Closest-to-real virtual networking platform!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Entertainment | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 23, 2021

**What do you like best about SpatialChat?**

It is a very flexible platform to communicate as the exactly in-person event! If you want to speak with others, you can move your avatar to others to chat with, or say hi, or even type in the chatting. As an organizer, you don't need to speak all the time to facilitate the conversation where all the people are stuck in the same room (like ZOOM or other video chatting platforms), but the audiences can enjoy their own time.
And there are tons of ideas that you can apply for your networking event with games, speed dating as well. And plus, they oraganize every week's lecture on Spatialchat to give you ideas on how to use or emphasize this system.

**What do you dislike about SpatialChat?**

This is something that they have been already working on according to the Spatialchat team, regarding chatting in Japan is not suitable to the current chatting system. Japanese typing usually contains four different types of characters. Kanji (Chinese character), Hiragana, Katakana, and alphabet. And it takes to convert into each character before you send it out, but with the current chatting system you can't convert to other characters. They just let you send whenever you type there. It won't be a killing problem, but it would be great if you could update the system soon while you are saying this is a multilingual platform.

**What problems is SpatialChat solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Under the pandemic circumstances, a lot of companies, or organizers were/are trying to find solutions to have "real" communications with others or within their organization.
Same as ours, our film festival was also looking for a platform where participants can talk to others IF they want to, or where you don't need to listen to everyone's talk while you are in the same room. SpatialChat brought us a big win with our film festival.

  ### 34. Relatively Easy to Use and a Nice alternative for those who are tired of Zoom Meetings

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 01, 2021

**What do you like best about SpatialChat?**

It's good if you need a spatial voice chat that works well on Mobile or Desktop. I found the video and sound to be relatively reliable. The team is also quite responsive to answering all of your questions. I like the megaphone feature, as well as the ability to broadcast across different rooms. It's great if you want something for open and free networking.

**What do you dislike about SpatialChat?**

It can be hard to find yourself in the room with your video and mic off since they shrink your avatar. And it can be tricky to onboard people to this type of experience if they are used to using Zoom. I would also liked to see some kind of locked table feature. Let's see if they come up with something soon.

**What problems is SpatialChat solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Like I said before, it's good for open networking and taking people on more of an adventure.

  ### 35. SpatialChat Stands Out Among Online Platforms

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** John J. | President, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 29, 2021

**What do you like best about SpatialChat?**

SpatialChat has re-engineered the way we think about meeting online. It is great to be able to move around the computer screen the way you would move about an actual room. As you approach a group of attendees, you can hear their conversation and interact. It is the next best thing to being there live and in person.

**What do you dislike about SpatialChat?**

There were some missing features (user management, security) but overall the platform was very easy to use and well liked.

**What problems is SpatialChat solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It has become our go to solution for holding online social and networking events.

  ### 36. So easy to set up and so fun to use

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michelle S. | Strategic Partnerships | Business Development | Marketing, ANZ & Asia, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 09, 2021

**What do you like best about SpatialChat?**

SpacialChat is very easy to set up and the controls are self-explanatory. The guests at my event found joining easy and loved the features!

**What do you dislike about SpatialChat?**

There's nothing I don't like about it. I recommend it to everyone who wants something rather than boxes on their screen to meet others.

**Recommendations to others considering SpatialChat:**

Try it! It's so easy. You will want to create events just so you can have fun using it.

**What problems is SpatialChat solving and how is that benefiting you?**

You can have private chats without getting additional rooms, just like at an actual event - I loved this feature. The problem I solved was the lack of participant retention. People enjoyed the interactivity and stayed longer.

  ### 37. Spatial Chat was an outstanding option for us

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Primary/Secondary Education | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 23, 2022

**What do you like best about SpatialChat?**

I loved that we were able to set up so many different rooms and make it feel like an in-person workshop.

**What do you dislike about SpatialChat?**

It was a bit challenging for our participants to use on their phones for those who don't have access to computers.

**Recommendations to others considering SpatialChat:**

It's a really unique, interactive platform which was fun for the students participating in our project.

**What problems is SpatialChat solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We planned to have an in-person workshop and wanted to achieve the goals of that in an online setting. This platform really made it feel like they were at a workshop.

  ### 38. A fantastic experience that gets you away from the monotony of normal web meetings

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matt C. | Sales Leadership Principal, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 06, 2021

**What do you like best about SpatialChat?**

I particularly appreciate that Spatial Chat is a 2D experience that allows anyone to quickly move around the meeting spaces without learning how to navigate. We tried other products with the 'Z-Axis' and even heard a story of a person who missed a meeting because they were 'Stuck' behind a flower pot in a virtual space. Spatial Chat gives you the flexibility to design beautiful environments that don't require you to be a gamer to use.

**What do you dislike about SpatialChat?**

Spatial Chat is very responsive in terms of new feature requests - The only limitation that we are working with today is that sometimes people will not be able to see a screen share because they have too many tabs open on their machine and don't have the resources to see it. This feels like a short term issue as newer machines seem to have no problem at all.

**What problems is SpatialChat solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Spatial Chat allows us to give students the feel of arriving at a place (Our SaaSy Sales Leadership virtual campus) with the flexibility to explore rooms and meet people for side-chats that is simply impossible with standard meeting products. We needed to find a way to recreate our in-person training experience, including the ability to have adhoc 1:1 conversations - SpatialChat has been perfect for this. We have received high praise from ALL attendees due to the investment we made in the experience. We also conduct many of our new client meetings in the virtual space, which has ensured that the differentiated environment is experienced by new clients reviewing our offerings

  ### 39. The perfect conference tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Leonie F. | Research Assistant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 15, 2021

**What do you like best about SpatialChat?**

It is the tool closest to a real-life experience because the participants can walk around a room and smoothly join groups and conversations.

**What do you dislike about SpatialChat?**

Nothing. It is an overall good experience. There is sometimes room for improvement, but the spatial chat team is always open to feedback and fixes bugs straight away.

**Recommendations to others considering SpatialChat:**

Get a free account and try with a group of friends or colleagues. Or register for a free presentation session where employees of spatial chat show you around the tool. It is quite intuitive, and their tips are beneficial.
If you are planning a big event: Don't forget that your guests will require time for an analog break as well as the digital break for strolling around your virtual cafeteria.

**What problems is SpatialChat solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We organised scientific conferences. It is essential for us that the guests can follow lectures and stroll around poster sessions or the cafeteria for networking within the same tool. People are free to move between rooms and to get in contact. Especially for newcomers, it can be interesting to approach a group of people and listen before joining the conversation.

  ### 40. SpatialChat - how virtual events should be!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Oli M. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 20, 2021

**What do you like best about SpatialChat?**

I am a conference organizer and SpatialChat enables everything I need for successful networking. Especially, I want to highlight support from the SpatialChat team (even though it works like a charm and it's unlikely that you would need their help).

A few advantages for conference organizers:
1. The interface is intuitive. All participants have control over who they want to talk to, whenever they want to.
2. Attendees can socialize in smaller, manageable groups while still being connected in a larger space (not boring 1 to many kind of zoom call)
3. Q&A for up to 50 people - we draw awesome backgrounds where the speakers can sit on a chair, and the attendees surround them. The megaphone feature comes across as very helpful in that case. The conversations always feel very intimate and inclusive in these crazy times.
4. We create rooms for sponsors where they run their activities - the entire expo is very dynamic and enables hot leads generation for the sponsors. You can even broadcast to all rooms when something important is happening.

I can continue, but the best you can do is to try it, and you will see it makes a big difference.

**What do you dislike about SpatialChat?**

I love the product and there is nothing that I dislike

**What problems is SpatialChat solving and how is that benefiting you?**

How do you make an online conference that is worth attending live? Why should an attendee dedicate their time to watch it now instead of watching it later on YT?
The answer is networking - that is the problem that my company solving with SpatialChat!

  ### 41. Useful tool in an hybrid working mode

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 29, 2021

**What do you like best about SpatialChat?**

I like the visual representation of a virtual workspace. It's easy to see in a second who's here, who's available to chat.

**What do you dislike about SpatialChat?**

Some of my colleagues have audio issues, it also lacks of some useful keyboard shortcuts.

**What problems is SpatialChat solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It avoids the silo we had in zoom. People can share the same visual workspace but the sound is only limited to local members.
It's then possible to have several discussions at the same time without disturbances.
It's also very easy to initiate discussions with other teams just by moving the avatar close to them.

  ### 42. Better communication among several teams

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 16, 2021

**What do you like best about SpatialChat?**

SpatialChat is the best way to talk in small groups in one room. It makes it easier to communicate with other group members even outside SpatialChat.

**What do you dislike about SpatialChat?**

It could be more fun to have more background images in the template

**What problems is SpatialChat solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My team members work remotely. So it's quite a big issue to design a better communication process.
We have several app development teams in our department. Each team better be informed about what the others are currently doing, but it is not as important as holding a zoom meeting.
So we join SpacialChat all together and talk in small groups if needed. Other ones can hear as if in the office. It has improved our remote communication process.

  ### 43. A quick and functional alternative

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in E-Learning | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 08, 2021

**What do you like best about SpatialChat?**

The spatial chat is an excellent platform for teaching in an interactive, fast way and using many visual resources. I believe the greatest advantage is that it is free and has the ability to move away and lower the sound quickly and functionally.

**What do you dislike about SpatialChat?**

The spatial chat is a very intuitive and easily accessible platform. However, I encountered problems turning on my phone's camera, and in some meetings, people couldn't turn on their microphones.

**What problems is SpatialChat solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The spatial chat helped me a lot with the didactics of classes, where on other platforms it was not possible to work in pairs with students for free and in a functional way.

  ### 44. Using SpatialChat as a Virtual Biology Laboratory Classroom

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 17, 2021

**What do you like best about SpatialChat?**

Spatial chat provides an engaging virtual meeting experience. The ability of groups to share and speak to each other and move between groups seems superior to "breakout rooms".

**What do you dislike about SpatialChat?**

I really like SpatialChat, but it is outside of LMS (Bb) so it requires students to click on another link to get there. However, it is easy to share my meeting room link and it is easy for students to enter.

**What problems is SpatialChat solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It provides a virtual collaborative learning space that is more engaging and gives a greater sense of presence in the classroom. It more realistically simulates being in the science laboratory and working with partners at the same table.

  ### 45. Great event platform for virtual networking

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 20, 2022

**What do you like best about SpatialChat?**

The space was easy to customize for branding purposes, had a simple user interface on both the back end and the attendee side, and it allowed for more organic networking connections than on other platforms.

**What do you dislike about SpatialChat?**

It was challenging to get customer support in real-time, due to the US/European time difference.

**What problems is SpatialChat solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SpatialChat allowed us to have an upscale virtual networking mixer with several breakout rooms to allow for both large scale and intimate conversations.

  ### 46. Networking 3.0

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jeroen C. | Board Member, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 17, 2021

**What do you like best about SpatialChat?**

We used SpatialChat for an informal get-together of our Alumni Association. We managed to mingle with around 100 persons in different rooms.
We really liked the backgrounds you can choose from and the audio feature that allows you only to hear people close by.

**What do you dislike about SpatialChat?**

When the meeting started, we had experienced some lagging, but afterward, it turned out to be caused by my pc.

**What problems is SpatialChat solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Social get-together

  ### 48. An innovative and funny way to meet

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 09, 2021

**What do you like best about SpatialChat?**

Everything! The possibility to change backgrounds and arrange more than one room per section is fantastic!

**What do you dislike about SpatialChat?**

Only 50 people per room. If it would be possible to have at least 150 will be great!

**What problems is SpatialChat solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easy way to connect. More engagement as it is a funny and productive way to meet. Focus on what is said and not too much worried about the camera positions or speaker's background.

  ### 49. A great support after a stressy problem

Problems that we are solving. Boring and passive meetings. Zoom sickness. Grouping for small teams.
