The program is lightweight and responsive. It lets you switch between using the UI and git command line. **What do you dislike about SourceTree?** Some of the terminology doesn't match standard git terminology. I still have not gotten rebase to work in the way that I expect. **Recommendations to others considering SourceTree:** As a free product, there is no formal support. Installer sometimes does not correctly create a program group. **What problems is SourceTree solving and how is that benefiting you?** It lets you largely avoid remembering the git command line, which is useful for occasional users of git. I can spend less time looking up/figuring out commands and more time working. ### 45. The UI presents a list of files that has been changed and an easy context menu to perform actions on the files, like adding, discarding and diffing on the change with the historic previous commit. I appreciate the tool is compatible with multiple operating systems allowing to switch from my mac to my windows desktop without having to use a different, unfamiliar user interface. **What do you dislike about SourceTree?** There will be times when you get lost in the shuffle of multiple commits from remote that you haven't pulled down quite yet and the interaction can be a bit confusing when you are scared of losing all your local changes. This is common in all source control solutions but I feel like SourceTree could work more on conflict resolution in a more friendly manner. **Recommendations to others considering SourceTree:** If you are seeking a source control utility to give you a less stressful experience working with every day code commits and merging, this tool is very good for that. It also has added som more advanced features as well custom actions. Ability to more clearly see the changing flow using their line graphs.
