Soundproof is a Mac app for reducing steady background noise in recorded audio and video files, including fan noise, air-conditioning hum, hiss and room tone. Recordings are processed on the device and are not uploaded; no app account is required. Users can compare the original and cleaned audio before exporting. Features include batch cleanup, LUFS normalization and cleaned video export that replaces the audio track without re-encoding the picture. Soundproof runs on macOS 13.4 or later, on Intel and Apple Silicon. It includes unlimited previews and 3 free exports, with a $49.99 one-time lifetime unlock for unlimited exports. It is available from the Mac App Store and as a direct download. Soundproof works on recorded files rather than live calls. Background voices may remain, and it does not remove room echo.
