## Sophos Mobile Reviews
  ### 1. Sophos Mobile keeps every employee device secure & compliant & takes lot of manual work off my plate

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shibu K. | Security Engineer, Information Technology and Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 30, 2026

**What do you like best about Sophos Mobile?**

I have been using Sophos Mobile for a good amount of time now as part of my daily work as a network security engineer at Vibs Infosol Pvt Ltd. As an admin, I manage this platform every day, and it has become a very important tool for us, because our employees communicate with thousands of clients through email and calls, and a lot of that communication now happens through mobile devices, not just laptops or desktops. Protecting these mobile devices was becoming a real challenge, and Sophos Mobile has made this much more manageable for me.

The feature I use most regularly is Device Enrollment. Whenever a new employee joins or gets a new company device, I enroll it into Sophos Mobile, and from that point onward I have full visibility and control over that device. Earlier, without a proper MDM solution, onboarding a new device used to be a manual and inconsistent process, sometimes security settings would get missed. Now enrollment is standardized, every device goes through the same secure setup process, which has reduced human error significantly.

Policy Management is something I configure and update regularly. I can create policies for different departments or user groups, instead of applying the same rule to everyone. For example, our sales team who travel a lot need different Wi-Fi and VPN settings compared to our office based staff. Being able to customize policies per group instead of a generic one-size rule has made our security setup much more practical and effective for real daily use.

Application Management is another feature I rely on daily. I can control which apps are allowed or blocked on company devices, and push required business apps directly to employee devices remotely. This has saved me a lot of time, because earlier I had to physically ask employees to install specific apps themselves, which was inconsistent and slow. Now I push it centrally and it happens automatically.

Device Encryption Enforcement gives me real peace of mind. I can make sure every company device has encryption enabled, so even if a device is lost or stolen, the data on it stays protected and unreadable to anyone who doesn't have proper access. Given that our employees carry sensitive client communication on their phones and laptops, this feature directly protects our clients' trust as well.

Password & Screen Lock Policies are something I enforce across all devices, so no device stays unlocked or unprotected even if left unattended for a moment. This small feature has actually prevented a few situations where devices were misplaced temporarily in the office, and having lock policies already active prevented any unauthorized access during that time.

Compliance Monitoring is a feature I check regularly, since it shows me which devices are following our security policies and which are not compliant, maybe because of an outdated OS version or a disabled security setting. I can immediately follow up on non-compliant devices and get them fixed before they become a real risk.

Wi-Fi & VPN Configuration is pushed directly through Sophos Mobile, so employees don't have to manually configure secure network settings themselves, which used to cause a lot of support tickets earlier when done manually. Now it happens automatically and correctly every time.

Alerts & Reporting keeps me updated in real time about any risky or non-compliant device, and I use the reporting data directly for my monthly security reports to management, saving me hours of manual data collection every month.

Sophos Central Integration is probably the biggest daily convenience for me, since I manage Sophos Mobile from the same Sophos Central console I already use for firewall, endpoint, and email protection. I don't need a separate login, everything is connected, which genuinely saves me time every single day and reduces the mental switching between different tools.

An unexpected benefit I found is that since implementing proper mobile management, our support tickets related to lost devices or configuration issues have reduced noticeably, since most things are now handled centrally and proactively instead of reactively.

**What do you dislike about Sophos Mobile?**

Even though Sophos Mobile has genuinely made mobile device security much easier for our organization, there are a few areas I feel could be improved, though these are not big enough to change my overall positive experience.

The first thing is that enrolling certain older devices or devices with different operating system versions sometimes takes a bit more manual effort and troubleshooting compared to newer standard devices. This occasionally slows down onboarding for a few specific cases.

Second, when employees resist installing certain profiles or enrollment steps on their personal devices used for work (BYOD situations), I sometimes have to spend extra time explaining why this is necessary, since some employees feel it is intrusive on their personal phone, even though we only manage the work related part.

Third, the reporting dashboard is good for overall compliance status, but sometimes I wish it had slightly more detailed drill down options when I want to investigate one specific device's history in more depth, instead of just the current status.

Fourth, regarding pricing, since we manage a large number of devices across the organization, the licensing cost needs to be planned carefully in our yearly budget. Once I explained the ROI clearly to management, based on reduced manual work and reduced risk of data loss from lost devices, the cost was justified, but the initial pricing conversation with management took some preparation and clear reasoning from my side.

Fifth, support response time is generally fine for critical issues, but for smaller configuration doubts, sometimes I wait a bit longer than expected to get a detailed technical answer.

Even with these small points, I want to be fair, these issues are minor compared to the overall control and peace of mind Sophos Mobile gives me daily

**What problems is Sophos Mobile solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before using Sophos Mobile, managing security across all our employee mobile devices was a real challenge for our organization, since our staff communicate with thousands of clients through email and calls, often directly from their phones and laptops while travelling or working remotely.

We struggled with inconsistent device setup during onboarding, but now with Device Enrollment, every device goes through the same standardized secure setup process, which has resulted in fewer configuration mistakes and a smoother onboarding experience for new employees.

We struggled with applying the same generic security rules to every department regardless of their actual working style, but now with Policy Management, we create specific policies for different teams, which has resulted in more practical and effective security that actually matches how each team works daily.

We struggled with manually asking employees to install required business apps, which was slow and inconsistent, but now with Application Management, I push required apps centrally, which has resulted in faster and more reliable app deployment across the organization.

We struggled with the risk of losing sensitive client data if a device was lost or stolen, but now with Device Encryption Enforcement and Password & Screen Lock Policies, our data stays protected even in worst case situations, which has resulted in reduced risk of data breach from lost or stolen devices.

We struggled with not knowing which devices were actually following our security standards, but now with Compliance Monitoring, I get a clear view of compliant and non-compliant devices, which has resulted in faster identification and correction of risky devices before they cause a real problem.

We struggled with manual and inconsistent Wi-Fi and VPN setup causing support tickets, but now with automated Wi-Fi & VPN Configuration, employees get correct settings automatically, which has resulted in noticeably fewer support tickets related to network configuration issues.

We struggled with manual monthly reporting on device security status, but now with Alerts & Reporting, I get ready data for my reports, which has resulted in saving several hours of manual reporting work every month.

On a bigger level, since our business depends heavily on secure communication with thousands of clients through mobile devices as well as desktops, Sophos Mobile has given us the confidence that our mobile fleet is properly managed, encrypted, and compliant. This has directly benefited us with reduced security risk, saved admin time, fewer support tickets, and overall a more secure and well managed infrastructure for our growing organization.

  ### 2. The Missing Link Between Endpoint Security and Mobile Device Management.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ansh B. | Associate Security Engineer, Capital Markets, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 18, 2026

**What do you like best about Sophos Mobile?**

What I like best about Sophos Mobile is how seamlessly it integrates with Sophos Central, bringing mobile device management and mobile threat defense into the same console used for endpoint and email security, being able to enroll, configure, and enforce security policies across Android and IOS devices without switching between separate management platforms is a significant operational advantage for lean IT teams managing mixed device fleets.

The mobile threat defense capabilities are genuinely strong detecting malicious apps, risky device configurations, and network-based threats on mobile endpoints with the same depth of protection Sophos brings to traditional endpoints. The ability to enforce compliance policies and automatically restrict access to corporate resources on non-compliant or compromised devices adds a meaningful layer of zero-trust enforcement that goes well beyond basic MDM functionality.

For IT admins managing BYOD and corporate owned mobile fleets simultaneously, having unified visibility, policy enforcement and threat detection across all device types from a single console is a day-to-day operational advantage that directly reduces both administrative overhead and mobile security risk.

**What do you dislike about Sophos Mobile?**

While Sophos Mobile is capable mobile security and management platform, there are some friction points that surface in day-to-day administration. The enrollment process particularly for BYOD scenarios, can be more complex and time consuming than it should be end users frequently encounter confusing steps during self-enrollment that generate helpdesk tickets and require IT intervention to resolve, which undermines the self-service model the platform is designed to support.

Policy configuration can also feel fragmented at times. Managing separate policy sets for Android, IOS and Windows Mobile devices within the same console requires careful attention to platform specific settings that aren't always clearly labeled or consistently organised, leading to configuration errors that only surface after deployment rather than during setup

The reporting capabilities, while functional, lack the depth and customization options needed for detailed compliance audits or executive level reporting. Getting meaningful insights beyond the default dashboard views require data extraction that adds unnecessary administrative overhead for a platform at this level.

**What problems is Sophos Mobile solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sophos Mobile solves one of the most overlooked gaps in enterprise security the inconsistency between how endpoint devices and mobile devices are protected and managed. In most environments, laptops and desktops have robust security policies, threat detection and compliance enforcement in place, while mobile devices are either loosely managed through a basic MDM or left largely unprotected. Sophos Mobile closes that gap by bringing enterprise grade mobile threat defense and device management together in a single platform that integrates directly with the broader Sophos security ecosystem.

From a practical administration standpoint, it solves the visibility problem. Mobile devices accessing corporate email, cloud applications and internal resources represent a significant and growing attack surface that is difficult to monitor and control without a dedicated solution. Sophos Mobile gives administrators the ability to see device compliance status, detect threats, enforce security policies and remotely wipe or restrict compromised devices all from the same Sophos Central console used to manage the rest of the environment.

For BYOD environment specifically, it solves the balance problem between corporate security requirements and end user privacy. Container based management keeps personal and corporate data separated allowing security policies to be enforced on the corporate side without giving IT visibility into personal apps or data, which is critical for user adoption and legal compliance in regions with strict data privacy regulations. overall Sophos Mobile has meaningfully extended our security posture to cover mobile endpoints with the same consistency and control we apply to traditional endpoints.

  ### 3. Seamless Sophos Central Integration for Simple, Strong Mobile Management

**What do you dislike about Sophos Mobile?**

What I dislike about Sophos Mobile is that the initial setup can be a bit confusing, especially if you’re not very familiar with MDM solutions. Some configurations—particularly on iOS devices—require additional steps and can take time to get fully right.

**What problems is Sophos Mobile solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sophos Mobile helps me address the challenge of managing and securing multiple mobile devices from a single platform. ### 4. Practical Device Control Without Micromanagement

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Santosh K. | Technical Engineer, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 19, 2025

**What do you like best about Sophos Mobile?**

What I like most about Sophos Mobile is how naturally it brings order to device management without making things complicated. Enrolling devices was straightforward, and once users were onboarded, policies applied cleanly without disrupting their day-to-day work. The balance between security and usability is well thought out, devices remain protected, but users don’t feel restricted.

**What do you dislike about Sophos Mobile?**

There’s very little to dislike. The initial policy planning takes some thought, especially when deciding how strict to be across different user groups. However, this is more about defining internal standards than any limitation of the platform itself.

**What problems is Sophos Mobile solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sophos Mobile solved the challenge of securing mobile devices without adding complexity for users. Before implementing it, enforcing security on personal and corporate devices was inconsistent. With Sophos Mobile, we can ensure encryption, screen lock policies, and compliance checks are applied automatically.

  ### 19. Maximum Security

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Yennit T. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 10, 2020

**What do you like best about Sophos Mobile?**

I always like to feel safe and protected not only in my personal life but also with my work teams, and that is exactly the feeling that the Sophos Mobile software application gives me. That's why when I found out it existed, I was very happy to know that I can also protect my mobile devices, including my phone. What I like the most is that it has no complications when installing and is very easy to manage. We use it on all our Android devices.

**What do you dislike about Sophos Mobile?**

What I don't like is that as it performs thorough inspections to provide the greatest and best security, it blocks some links or even web pages that are safe. We can say that it is too sensitive when it comes to protection. Another thing I've noticed since I installed the Sophos Mobile app on my phone is that as the Sophos services start in the background, they consume a certain percentage of the battery, so now I always have the charger connected to the phone. Other than that, it is excellent software. We thank you for always working to provide users with services like these that make us feel safe, at least with our work equipment, especially in this era of so many technological advances.

**Recommendations to others considering Sophos Mobile:**

if you want to feel secure on all your mobile work devices including your phones, what you are looking for and need is the Sophos Mobile Software application

**What problems is Sophos Mobile solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The problems I have solved are that when it comes to installing or managing an application, I can do it even from a long distance without having to worry about having the devices on hand; I can do it remotely.

Additionally, it reassures me to know that it automatically checks web page links in order to avoid malicious downloads.

  ### 20. Protection Management Mobil Plus Antivirus

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Elijah H. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 08, 2020

**What do you like best about Sophos Mobile?**

The administration platform of Sophos Central allows to unify the mobile devices that are granted to employees so that technology administrators can control and protect the entire organization on the same screen.

I have it installed on my mobile device downloaded from the Google Play Store and the phone is excellent, it protects networks, scanning against downloaded applications, web filters, scanning of QR codes, validation of device security; all in the same app.

And the most amazing thing is that it is free. It is worth downloading even from any platform.

**What do you dislike about Sophos Mobile?**

For this I want to comment that the mobile application is a bit heavy, it takes several megabytes to the device; but it works fine after installed.

And another negative aspect, but that is still good for that, is that it does not allow synchronization with your devices if you use the Sophos Home console or simply have it alone without any subscription.

I think that a good point to improve would be to be able to manage it from the web, even though you are not registered with any corporation for administration.

**Recommendations to others considering Sophos Mobile:**

The Sophos Mobile app offers protection for
devices, networks and applications for your devices
Android and iOS without compromising performance or duration
battery; for that part they will not have any kind of problems.

Sophos Mobile monitors the security status of the
device continuously to ensure that you are
notify if a device has been compromised so they can safely test it.

**What problems is Sophos Mobile solving and how is that benefiting you?**

One of the problems I had before was that I needed to install several applications to improve work performance, for example:

To scan QR codes, it was an application.
to filter web pages, another application.
For antivirus and ramsonware protection, other protection and so on.

Thanks to Sophos mobile, all this can be done with the same application; which increases productivity and safety.

The Sophos mobile security application offers security and protection to mobile devices such as smart phones that are always a gateway to malware and hackers, so it was essential to have a help and it was Sophos mobile security with its benefits of constant monitoring That allowed the security we were looking for. It offers Secure Wi-Fi options with which internet browsing is much more secure, as well as email protection for opening emails without problems.

**What do you dislike about Sophos Mobile?**

The Sophos mobile security application for Android has presented certain update failures for some of the company's Android devices, particularly I have not had problems since it works well, however I have learned of other equipment whose updates are not performed properly.

**Recommendations to others considering Sophos Mobile:**

Sophos mobile security has worked perfectly on most of the computers to which it was urged, I believe that the fault has been generated by the Android system versions and by incorrect settings of the application, so I recommend the application. Really fast and the queries made, have responded quickly, which em makes you feel satisfied to have a good service, on the other hand the attention is first, hopefully many will copy the quality of service offered by Sophos.

**What problems is Sophos Mobile solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sophos mobile security has been the fundamental piece to give protection to our mobile endpoint, since we have it we have strengthened the security in the devices that were vulnerable in the company, since the mobile devices were a gateway that was not being monitored by therefore it was easy prey for hackers, fortunately we were able to do the implementation just before any attack and now we are completely protected.

  ### 23. More than a MDM ---> Secure Unified Endpoint Management

**What do you like best about Sophos Mobile?**

I like that it is a platform that brings everything you need for an MDM and more, it compete with VMware and citrix (MobileIron, Airwatch) and the best thing is that it brings a very attractive price, and it brings all the features that you may need, included: factory reset remotelly, geolocation, application control, web control, containers, and also the security layer (endpoint security) it can be used from the sophos central cloud console, or with an onpremise console, we used it a lot here, also we sell it and it is a very good solution

**What do you dislike about Sophos Mobile?**

We have used it and I do not see any flaws. Why? Because it is compatible with Windows, Android, iOS, devices, and it also supports several protocols (Samsung, knox, LG etc), then that's why I think it's a very good solution.and I don't see any negative point so far.

**Recommendations to others considering Sophos Mobile:**

if you need a solution for take control of your user's devices, and you are thinking about BYOD strategies or teleworking it fits very well, besides the full protection of the endpoint (antivirus) it also give you the ability to admin very granular the policies that in your company you need (encryption, minimum security accepted, Whitelisted apps or blacklisted apps, control the use of camera inside any app and so on) i really recommend it you should give it a try

**What problems is Sophos Mobile solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For BYOD strategies It works very well, additional it has security components for cell phones very nice, it has very granular control of functions in the devices allowing activating or deactivating the camera, activate or deactivate the use of the microphone in applications such as WhatsApp, among others functions, that makes it granular, also we used it for tasks of self-service in the users, in case the equipment is lost or even when the company needs to control the consumption of data in 4G on it.

I like that this software is very low maintenance. I barely have to do anything, but I know it is working from occasional notifications. My device is running smoothly so it must be working! Web protection is very important to my personal and professional work, so it is great knowing that Sophos Mobile is helping to capture and contain any threats. **What do you like best about Sophos Mobile?**

I loved how it performed so great on mobile devices. At the beginning I was Skeptical of it performing good, but when I started programming using their SDK, it was amazingly good. Their SDK is well documented too!

**What do you dislike about Sophos Mobile?**

When there's an update, most likely you are not gonna download it right away. Their servers tend to crash during peak hours, so you're gonna have to wait.

**Recommendations to others considering Sophos Mobile:**

Read the SDK documentation. You're gonna find astonishing the things you can do with it.

**What problems is Sophos Mobile solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Many employees requested for mobile/tablet support to access our archives and work from them. At the beginning we thought of a free solution such as Google Docs or Microsoft Online Office, but we never got used to it.
