"Robust Security and Management, Needs Setup Simplification"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Sophos Firewall?

I like Sophos Firewall's intuitive dashboard, synchronized security ecosystem, robust threat protection, and VPN flexibility. It secures our enterprise network with strong protection, VPN support, and simplified management, ensuring reliable connectivity. Its ability to block threats, secure VPN access, control bandwidth, enforce policies, and simplify network management with clear visibility and reliable performance solves many challenges for us. The synchronized endpoint integration and cost-effective licensing also greatly contribute to improving enterprise security and usability. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sophos Firewall?

Sophos Firewall setup can be complex for large deployments. The licensing models are fragmented and costly, which makes them confusing. Improved automation tools and clearer documentation could simplify enterprise rollouts and reduce complexity. More customizable reporting and reduced licensing complexity for advanced features would also be beneficial. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Intuitive and Secure, Ideal for Business Connections"
5/5
What do you like best about Sophos Firewall?

I like that Sophos Firewall is easy and intuitive to manage. Its user-friendly interface is a great benefit, along with the extensive documentation that is easy to interpret. I also appreciate the help blogs and the repository of video guides with clear explanations, which make learning easier. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sophos Firewall?

Personally, only on some occasions do firmware updates implement improvements that hinder some previous configurations in the firewall rules. I would suggest as a small improvement that updating should not interfere with what is already configured, regardless of whether there is any change in the structure or improvement for efficiency. Let it be applied manually as if it were a simple configuration or change that is done routinely, so that if a rollback needs to be applied, it does not interfere with other services. "Intuitive Dashboards & Reliable Performance that Reduce Our On-call Time"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Sophos Firewall?

UI and UX feel easier to navigate compared to other firewalls we've reviewed. The pre-built dashboards help our Team determine where to focus our time and Sophos' FWs have been such a huge improvement in performance reliability that we've been able to cut down the amount of time we spend on-call. We've implemented some additional features with the help of Sophos Support, such as allowing employees to join the network using existing credentials. Sophos' ITDR has also been helpful because it centralizes much of the individual controls that are difficult to find in other platforms to a centralized interface.

I have not personally worked with advanced AI/intelligence, but it seems like Sophos has been using AI to help decrease their own response times, so my team and I are indirect beneficiaries to the technology.

Pricing is competitive for our needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sophos Firewall?

Small UI things; I wish the dashboard would be a bit more explicit at the outset of risky traffic. I would also appreciate the option to block allowed traffic identified as risky by clicking the app or traffic and clicking . For example, if I click the unwanted traffic, I could be directed to a Sophos pre-filled webpage populated with relevant information needed to create a policy to restrict the traffic. "Easy-to-Manage Sophos Firewall with Powerful Security and Simple VPN Setup"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Sophos Firewall?

What I like most about Sophos Firewall is its ease of management combined with powerful security features. The management console makes it simple to configure and monitor security policies, while features such as application control, web filtering, IPS, VPN, and detailed traffic visibility. Also it has NDR feature inbuilt with it can be more helpful to detect threats in network level. And the setup of site-to-site or remote VPN is made simple, also the AWS cloud intergration is ease with one configuration file. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sophos Firewall?

There are some limitations with the remote VPN agent, such as the lack of an always-on option and the inability to restrict internet access when VPN connectivity isn’t active. While Sophos Firewall provides a wide range of security features, troubleshooting more complex networking, VPN, and routing issues can still be time-consuming at times. More detailed diagnostic information, along with more streamlined troubleshooting workflows, would make the process easier and more efficient. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Outstanding Multilayered Threat Security"
5/5
What do you like best about Sophos Firewall?

I really like the multilayered security of Sophos Firewall. It's more than just a basic firewall, offering features like deep packet inspection, intrusion prevention, web filtering, and application control. It also has inspection and sandboxing capabilities, providing end-to-end protection across traffic layers. The synchronized security feature is great, it integrates with endpoints and can automatically isolate compromised devices instantly. Additionally, I would rate it as a 10 out of 10 due to its highly effective trick management system. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sophos Firewall?

The main area for improvement with Sophos Firewall is the performance impact when full security is enabled. Our users experience a slowdown when multiple security features like IPS, AVD, and DPI are all enabled at once. It would be good to have some improvement around this feature. What do you dislike about Sophos Firewall?

While Sophos Firewall has many strong features, one drawback is that some advanced configurations can be complex for new administrators. "Robust Security with Manageable Complexity"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Sophos Firewall?

I like how Sophos Firewall combines strong security features with easy day-to-day management. The user interface feels intuitive, so it’s straightforward to configure policies, monitor network activity, and troubleshoot issues when they come up. I also value the comprehensive security capabilities—intrusion prevention, web filtering, application control, VPN support, and advanced threat protection—all available within a single platform. The detailed reporting and clear visibility into network traffic help us spot potential issues quickly and maintain a secure network environment. It also integrates smoothly with other tools, such as endpoint protection solutions (especially Sophos Intercept X), which helps improve coordination between network and endpoint security. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sophos Firewall?

While Sophos Firewall is generally reliable, some of the advanced configuration options can be complex and require a learning curve, especially for administrators who are new to the platform. Troubleshooting specific network or policy issues can take time due to the depth of settings and logs. The reporting features, while useful, could be more flexible and customizable for different business needs. Additionally, performance in very high-traffic environments may require careful tuning to ensure optimal throughput. Overall, these are manageable limitations, but improvements in usability and reporting would make the product even stronger. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effective Protection For Daily Operations"
5/5
What do you like best about Sophos Firewall?

What I like most is how practical the solution is once it is in place. It delivers the level of protection we need while still being manageable for a team that has to balance security with ongoing business demands. The interface and management approach make regular tasks easier to handle, and the overall reliability has been important for maintaining continuity for users. We have also seen value in the way it supports secure connectivity and stable access without creating unnecessary complexity. From a business perspective, that means less time spent dealing with avoidable issues and more confidence in the environment overall. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sophos Firewall?

One area that could add even more value is improving the speed of making changes across larger environments. Small efficiency improvements there would have a meaningful impact for teams managing at scale. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Efficient Firewall with Intuitive Configuration"
5/5
What do you like best about Sophos Firewall?

It seems to me that the rules of the Sophos Firewall are quite intuitive and work very precisely to control what enters and exits the network. Additionally, content filtering is important to define what can or cannot be done within the network. The initial setup was very easy; I had no problems, I just had to understand a bit of the logic of its operation. I also use it with SoftOS endpoints, which provides me with double security when an application is running and allows for good event correlation between the endpoint and the firewall. I am very satisfied, so much so that I would recommend Sophos Firewall with a probability of between 9 and 10. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sophos Firewall?

Mainly, I believe that the way the process for conducting tests or reviewing traffic is presented could be improved; it needs to be explored a bit more. And integrate artificial intelligence to have a better guide within the menu and the things that can be done within the console. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
