  ### 1. Powerful security management with fantastic RCA, but watch out for system resource usage

**What do you like best about Sophos Central?**

Th biggest selling point for our team is heaving the firewall (XGS series)and our endpoint protection living in the exact same dashboard. The "Synchronized Security" Feature specifically the security heartbeat is incredibly useful If an endpoint gets infected or starts showing suspicious behavior, it automatically drops its heartbeat, and the Sophos firewall Isolates it from the rest of the VLAN instantly without me having to LOG in manually after hours to kill the switch port.
From an Admin perspective managing global policies is straightforward. If i need to create a peripheral control policy to block rogue USB drives or add a global threat exclusion for a quirky legacy line-of-business app I can push it out to the entire tenant in a few clicks. tamper protection is also robust: they know IT can't easily kill the service or tamper with the registry to disable it.

**What do you dislike about Sophos Central?**

My main complaint is the resource footprint of the endpoint agent on our older endpoint if you have users running older laptops or developer machines doing heavy compiles, they will absolutely notice a slowdown during a full scheduled scan when or when Sophos is processing deep learning malware analysis on localized files. CPU spikes are a common helpdesk ticket item for us on those specific machines.

**What problems is Sophos Central solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use it to centralize security operation across our corporate office and our fully remote workspace before migration to Sophos central we were managing a disjointed stack one vendor for antivirus another for the firewall and a separate tool for full disk encryption keys.

Sophos central allowed us to consolidate Everything now when a remote user loses their BitLocker PIN, they don't lock themselves out forever the helpdesk can grab the recovery key straight from the Central console in seconds it has significantly streamlined our incident response times and stopped us from wasting hours trying to correlate separate logs across three different security platforms during a suspected event.

**What do you like best about Sophos Central?**

In my experience, using Sophos has been a very good decision. It has allowed me to have everything centralized in Sophos Central, which makes it much easier for me to control and manage security.

Additionally, I greatly value its product integrations, because everything works together and improves incident response. The performance is quite stable and does not significantly affect the devices. As for the price, I consider it competitive for everything it offers. I have also had good experiences with technical support, which usually responds efficiently. And something that adds a lot is the use of artificial intelligence to detect threats more quickly and accurately.

they could improve the sections on reporting and the generation of more up-to-date reports.

Synchronized security, a feature of Sophos, allows devices and the firewall to work together to automatically detect and contain threats.

Additionally, many highlight:

Good performance (it usually doesn't slow down devices).
Automatic threat response.
Integrations between products.
And technical support, which is usually reliable.

It solves many security situations because it combines solid protection with simplicity, something not always found in cybersecurity tools.

**What do you like best about Sophos Central?**

The interface is straightforward and well-organized, which makes it easy to train new administrators. The UI/UX is clean, and I can quickly find policies, alerts, and reports without digging through menus. I also like how integrations with other Sophos tools (like Intercept X and the firewall) are seamless-everything ties together in one console. Performance has been reliable updates roll out smoothly, and the threat detection engine is fast at flagging suspicious activity.

For example, When I onboarded a new junior admin, they were able to navigate the dashboard and apply endpoint policies within their first week without much training. The console layouts makes it easy to jump between alerts, reports, and device groups. 
I also like the rule across device in minutes, and the reporting gives me a clear picture of threats without juggling multiple tools. Performance has been solid updates roll out quietly in the background, and i've noticed malware detection happens quickly often before users even realize something was flagged.

**What do you dislike about Sophos Central?**

While the core features works well, some third party integrations feel limited or require extra configuration. The reporting console can lag when pulling large datasets, which slows down troubleshooting. Pricing is on the higher side compared to other vendors, and while the ROI is there, it can be a challenge to justify during budget reviews. Support is generally responsive, but the onboarding process could use more step-by-step documentation for complex environments.

**What problems is Sophos Central solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It consolidates endpoint, server, and firewall management into single platform, which saves significant time. Instead of juggling multiple tools, I can enforce policies across devices from one dashboard. This has improved compliance, reduced manual errors, and given us better visibility into threats. The centralized performance monitoring means issues are caught earlier, and the automated responses help contain risks quickly. Overall, it has straightened our security posture and reduced the workload for the IT team.

Centralized management: I can enforce policies across hundreds of endpoints and servers from a single dashboard. For example, when we rolled out stricter web filtering rules, I applied the across all devices in minutes instead of manually configuring each group.

Threat response: During a phishing incident last quarter, Sophos Central immediately flagged the compromised endpoint, isolated it, and prevented lateral movement. That saved us hours of manual investigation and reduced downtime for the user.

Overall, Sophos Central has given us better visibility, faster response times, and more confidence in our security posture and it helped me a lot.

**What do you like best about Sophos Central?**

The portal is easy to use, and each module is explained with clear, specific details. Integration with the endpoints is straightforward and accessible whenever needed.

Sophos installed on each endpoint receives updates at regular intervals, and the same status is visible in the admin console as well. Overall, the performance has been consistently reliable and never disappoints.

The pricing has gone down, which is a positive change, and it now meets all the expectations we had.

The vendor NetNxt, which we collaborate with for Sophos, has been helpful and responsive, and they answer whenever we need support.

I haven’t used the AI feature in the console yet, so I don’t have much to say about it.

The protection it gives for the endpoints is magnificent along with the tune able policies as per our needs.

**What do you dislike about Sophos Central?**

Few time there is a lag between the policy which are pushed to the endpoints and have to wait a long time to get it reflected.

IF this could be Improved that would be a great help.

In our organization, it protects around 250+ endpoints from all kinds of malware and other threats and keeps the org data safe.

What I like most about Sophos Central is its unified management platform, which gives me full visibility and control across all security layers from a single console. It streamlines day-to-day operations by bringing firewall, endpoint, MDR, and email protection together in one place. The real-time alerts, synchronized security, and detailed reporting also make a noticeable difference in incident response and threat detection. On top of that, the cloud-based management makes it easy to deploy, manage policies, and troubleshoot remotely, which saves time and improves overall efficiency.

**What do you dislike about Sophos Central?**

Some advanced configurations require switching to the local firewall, and reporting/customization options could be improved. There can also be occasional sync delays between devices and Sophos Central.

What I like best about Sophos Central is the single cloud-based console that lets me manage all the endpoints from one place without any on-premise setup. The most helpful feature has been the automated threat response, it isolates infected devices instantly without any manual intervention, strong threat detection with low false positives, and synchronised security between endpoints and the firewall, making it a well rounded and efficient solution for day-to-day IT management.

**What do you dislike about Sophos Central?**

The reporting features feel a bit limited out of the box getting detailed or customised reports often requires extra steps or third party integrations. First line support can also be inconsistent at times, where resloving issues sometimes takes longer than expected. Licensing costs can add up as the number of devices grows, which may be a concern for budget conscious environment

**What problems is Sophos Central solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sophos Central is primarily solving the challenge of managing endpoints secuirty across multiple devices from a sengle, centralised platform without the need for complex on-premise infrastructure. Before using it, Keeping track of threats, policy updates, and  device health across the environment under one roof threat detection, response, policy management and reporting which has significantly reduced the administrative overheads on our IT team. The automated threat isolation feature directly addresses the problem of slow incident response, which in a secuirty context can make a huge  diffrences in containing damage . From a business perpective, it gives us confidence that our endpoints are continuously monitored and protected without requiring constant manual attention, freeing up time to focus on other IT prioirties. The synchronised security between endpoints and the firewall also helps us maintain a stronger, more coordinated defense posture, which is something that would otherwise require multiple separate tools to achive.  Overall it has streamlined our security operations, reduced response times, and given us better visibility into potential risks across the organisation.

**What do you like best about Sophos Central?**

One of the best aspects is the single dashboard view, where I can monitor firewall, endpoint, and user security status in real time. I frequently use the Alerts & Events section to quickly identify critical threats and take immediate action.

The Device Management panel is very helpful for checking endpoint health, applying policies, and isolating compromised systems remotely. I also rely on the Threat Analysis Center to investigate malware detections and review root cause analysis.

The policy management feature allows me to modify web control, application control, and threat protection policies easily without logging into multiple systems. Additionally, the reporting section helps me generate scheduled reports for management and customers.

Overall, the centralized control, real-time visibility, easy policy deployment, and detailed reporting are the features I use the most, and they significantly reduce administrative workload.

**What do you like best about Sophos Central?**

Enables a very clean oversight and configuration and control of the entire Sophos hardware and Software ecosystem. Also provides an easy reporting interface that helps with creating a report from"C" level reports to detailed technician styles reports.

**What do you dislike about Sophos Central?**

Only downside is the fact that in order to perform some admin level tasks requires a complex set of steps to get down far enough to perform those actions. Not always intuitive on how to get to where you need to be. If the interface could be customized in some fashion to make it any unneeded menus this would be an almost perfect single pane of glass interface.

Full cybersecurity protection from end to end. Very easy hardware control as well. Everything from endpoints to access points and firewalls to MFP and ZTNA functions.

Initially, the wide range of features can feel a little overwhelming, especially for someone new to the Sophos ecosystem. **What do you like best about Sophos Central?**

The ease of installation is notable. Once you have access to the central dashboard, you just need to download the appropriate .exe file for your operating system and install it on the server with just a few clicks. The rest is handled automatically by the software.

**What do you dislike about Sophos Central?**

Sometimes, it does not uninstall properly. In such cases, we need to start the Windows server in Safe Mode and make certain changes to the Sophos service. However, customers often hesitate to proceed with this step, as it requires significant downtime

**What problems is Sophos Central solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For me and my environment, it solves a key problem: a developer or IT personnel managing the client’s server cannot uninstall the software without informing us, as uninstalling or disabling the product requires a tamper protection password. I also appreciate the Sophos Lockdown feature—once enabled, only whitelisted programs can run or open, and no other software can be installed on the server without prior approval from us.

I like that I can add emails to a safe senders list so they don't go into a spam folder- it is great for managing all emails and making decisions on how to store

Sometimes it will not remember that I have authorized a sender and will hold it.  I would like to see them make a change to this so when I add an approval it sticks.

It has helped with the amount of spam/junk email coming into my mail email account.  Having emails that are uncertain going into Sophos Central gives me the opportunity to add approved senders and block those I don't want/need to see.

There is no on-premises version of it; it is exclusively a cloud service. Strict security regulations, limited customisation options in some policies It is incompatible with AIX Unix Server Protection. 4-Arabic language is not supported by the interface

The user interface is excellent, and Pro services setup was simple and quick. Comparatively quickly to our prior vendor, we were able to set up DKIM, DMARC, and end-to-end encryption. Furthermore, banners are now included in our email messages to inform us that an email is external and to display trusted and dubious emails. Furthermore, because of our smart hosting through Sophos, the advertisements are removed when sending a reply. Having the ability to recognise when links in emails have been altered and scanned when clicked is also a major value addition.

Sophos is by far the most in depth software that I have used. Very little learning curve so you can hit the ground running after deployment. Alerts generated have tons of information.

We had an issue where the computers fell out of touch, and required us to reinstall the client on them. Sadly, we lost some of the tamper protection codes so we had to reformat those computers.

It allows us to have a more in depth view of our network as well as quarantine and respond to alerts in a timely manner. You can see both past and present issues with a user or a desktop.

Sophos is easy to manage from Central console. Any updates that Sophos has to push out are done through Central and they have not caused any of my customers downtime. My Sales rep is amazing as he is always there for whatever I need.

Sophos AV for Windows has all of the features while Linux does not.  When Sophos requires a reboot, the console does't flag you and the report for this is not valid.  When I reach out to support, I spend a lot of my time explaining the product to support and how it should work.

**What problems is Sophos Central solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sophos Central allows me to manage all the AV for my 1200+ cloud-hosted customers in one central location.  When alerts on my servers happen, I also receive an email.  If I haven't login to Sophos Central to check the warnings, I can ensure that I do by seeing the emails.

Centralized platform that is easily accessible to both end users and partners managing on behalf of end users. I like to ability to quickly switch between platforms/products (ie ZTNA to Firewall to MDM)

A little bit clunky to switch from product to product. Takes it's time getting from one page to the next. Would really like the ability to manage multiple firewall clients/groups at the same time without needing to close down one end users firewall platform just to open up another end users firewall platform.

Centralized management platform for all things Sophos. No need to log in to individual devices and no need to be on-site, complete visibility and remote access to all devices without the need for cumbersome/slow VPN's, etc.

I like the options that Sophos has available. You can install it at the hypervisor level or on each server and desktop. You can also choose to do a combination of the two. Everything is then monitored from a single location in the Sophos Central web portal. The notifications are also well done in the portal and sending emails.

There have been times when updates did not install correctly, which leaves a device unprotected. The device update is usually easily fixed, and a notification is sent that a device has an issue. It would still be nice to have an automated process.

We use Sophos to protect our network's Windows devices, servers and desktops. There are lots of policies that can be set to help keep everything safe that goes beyond just daily or real-time scanning. You can block websites, email address, and most importantly, applications.

With Windows 11 requirement for TPM we found that we needed better security. Sophos provided that security with endpoint encryption and a more robust antivirus than webroot

I don't have much to say about Sophos that could be considered unhelpful. I guess some of the false positives for endpoint protection was annoying but it was also expected with any new system

Sophos has a great number of modules. With sophoscentral you can see all of them in a single place. They are constantly releasing new modules and they integrate seamlessly with the portal. You can do just about any administrative action with ease.

Some of the modules aren't integrated as seamlessly as others. The style changes and some of the options get buried. In addition, the fact that some options you have to visit other panes to see.

If something goes wrong, it is virtually impossible to get support immediately when you need it.  If they would simply allow direct telephone connection to a qualified support agent.

Great tool, with a simple UI, and a great number of features. You can manage different tools from the same panel: antivirus, firewall, switches. No onprem installation needed.

Really I don't see downsides, it is a good tool. Maybe, xdr may be difficult to understand, and in some screens, I find an excess of information. Always, it could be cheaper.

Consolidate the management of security tools in only one panel. Good alerting and reporting tools. No installations, and easy updates . Sophos is giving more and more features.

The cloud console is easy to navigate, and reports are available in a few simple clicks. Keeping an eye on the overall health of our endpoint protection is easy. The best part is all of our other Sophos products are administered from the same dashboard

I would like a master password to disable the tamper protection on endpoints, it can be cumbersome to have to login to the cloud console to disable it or retrieve the key.

Easy deployment by simple automation. great visibility from  a console. its admin console is one of the best features of Sophos. GUI is fast but not user friendly

not very user-friendly. scans some time takes too much memory that you are unable to work. need improvements for Linux nodes. a hardware appliance would be a great benefit for a larger organization.
