**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Manish D. | Staff Security Engineer - SecOps, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2024

**What do you like best about SolusVM?**

SolusVM is an effcient and cost effective cloud virtual private server (VPS) solution which perfectly fits in your hosting requirements for your new or existing products & services. The recent release of SolusVM 2 is more effective in term of time tested VM solutions which makes the job easier for hosting companies by reducing the needs to write codes from sratch. The built in Plesk and cPanel license module makes it compatible with cPanel and Plesk-based products. The use of well known virtualization techniques like KVM, OpenVZ and Virtuozzo makes it more desirable. The user friendly interface and easy to setup predefined templates are added advantage including the cost effectiveness and service availability needs.

**What do you dislike about SolusVM?**

The out of the box billing module for pay-as-you-go model needs improvements with respect to clarity around resopurce usage and costing.

**What problems is SolusVM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Every hosting company needs an efficient and cost effective VPS platform which can scale the demand and availability of virtual machines at scale. The solus VM with their newer release can serve these requirements pretty effectively. Their feature rich REST API, user friendly UI and easy to setup predefined tempates for wordpress and GIT makes the job of hosting administrator more manageable. The backup and restore options with incremental backups and thin provisioning "ThinLVM" perfectly fits the gap for business continuity and disaster recovery for high availability and fault tolerance.

  ### 2. SolusVM: Powerful tool for hosting Providers

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ankur P. | Consultant, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 29, 2024

**What do you like best about SolusVM?**

SolusVM has lots to upsides to like. For example it is very easy to use due to its user friendly interface while managing servers. It can easily streamline tasks like provisioning, backup, updates. Other than that it is cost effective and pretty scalable.

**What do you dislike about SolusVM?**

There are few drawbacks about solusvm like it is primarily focused on hosting companies offering vps services but not ideal for individuals with single server. It is also a costlier alternative when compared to some open-source counterparts. I have also noticed that in a latest update there are few features missing that were there in previous versions.

**What problems is SolusVM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Solusvm tackles the problem of complexities by managing the VPS using user friendly control panel. It can easily be used to automate the provisioning, backup, updates etc. which gives us extra time to focus on bigger tasks.

  ### 3. SolusVM - A virtual Manager

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Subrat Kumar S. | Data Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2024

**What do you like best about SolusVM?**

The best aspect I like about it is that I don't need to manage infrastructure to host any web application. Also, I don't need to worry about security, since it is managed by SolusVM itself. Additionally, it's a code-free platform, so it's very easy to integrate

**What do you dislike about SolusVM?**

As of now, there is nothing to dislike since it fulfills all my needs

**What problems is SolusVM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a data scientist, deploying my application gets easier, since my primary focus is developing models and LLM applications. So, I don't need to think about infrastructure and hosting aspects

  ### 4. With minimal VM transition experience itself, we can quickly build our clustered setup using SolusIO

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rithika G. | Cloud Engineer, Information Technology and Services, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 14, 2022

**What do you like best about SolusVM?**

We find SolusIO easy to use, and we're able to manage multiple servers to meet our client requirements. It offers both full virtualization & paravirtualization, which we can choose based on our server needs. We can move any VPS from one region to another & also we have the facility to move them from one cluster to another. Based on our SOP, we need to choose an appropriate file system and virtualization method to avoid production issues.

**What do you dislike about SolusVM?**

Even though it's less expensive when compared with other VM solutions, for heavy workloads, there are significant performance & latency issues while using the SolusIO platform. It needs to provide out-of-the-box support to many 3rd party vendors since our enterprise demands are constantly growing. Also, it would be great to have a CLI utility so that we can manage our virtual networks with ease.

**What problems is SolusVM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We opt for SolusIO to regulate menial VM tasks with less operational cost. The learning curve is simple, and its web console doesn't require prior experience to carry out our functions. While building a cluster, we need to ensure the availability of both internal & external networks, and SousIO takes care of the rest. In addition to its VM services, we also like using its role-based management options, server backups and storage virtualization features.
